Nano 6th generation - shuffle reset to song 1 after turning off

I listen to my Nano 6th generation while commuting. I have shuffle on and it works fine during the week, when it just goes to sleep overnight. But over the weekend, with a more than two day break, it turns itself off. When I start it again it's on the song it was about to play before the weekend, but it's back at song 1 of xxx. This definitely didn't happen with my previous iPod - an old 1st generation Nano. Is this a feature or a bug?

From what others have stated, it seems to be a feature of the device.

Nano6: Remember what songs in shuffled playlist have been played after turning off?

If I'm listening to a playlist on my Nano6, and it's set to "shuffle," if I pause and then turn my iPod off, will it "remember" which songs in the list have already played when I turn it back on? Or will it shuffle through even those songs already played?

Ipod nano 6th generation won't shuffle entire library when connected to car

Hello,
I have been connecting my ipod nano 6th generation to my car (a Citroen DS3) using the usb cable. The problem I have is that the music defaults to playing alphabetically through the artists and will not allow me to shuffle my entire music library. I can see my library, arranged by artist, on my cars display and can select which artist I want to listen to, but the car itself will only allow me to shuffle songs for the artist that is currently playing and not the entire library. I cannot control the music that is playing via the ipod itself as it locks itself as it is being used as an accessory.
Has anybody got any ideas?

Thanks, I have to call back 800 692-7752 - the hours are 6AM - 6PM Pacific Time. The recorded message reccommends the site https://expresslane.apple.com - you need your device serial number for this. It's a shame Apple placed this number under the tiny clip on the 6th Generation Nano. (!!!)

It needs to be dried out. Stop using it.. don't turn it on. Put it in a zip lock bag with some rice or one of those packets of dessicant for a day or two. That might do it.

I tried all the steps to reset my nano 6th generation and it still won't turn on. I've had this since February and just started having problems about a week ago after I charged it. Now I can sometimes get it to turn on but mostly it just stays off, I can't even reset it with it plugged in. I have noticed that it get really warm to the touch when it's plugged in and if I let it cool down I might have some luck but soon I have the same problems.

Found this solution in another thread, what you want to do is go into the Nike Fitness thing, go to run, go to Spoken Feedback and set it to off. This should fix your problems.

How do I play all tracks on an album sequentially on iPod nano 6th generation ?

The repeat setting can be found from the Nano's Now Playing screen. While playing a track, swipe to the right to bring up additional controls including the scrubber bar, as well as the repeat and shuffle otpions. See page 21 of your iPod's User Guide for more assistance on the repeat setting.

Issue with Ipod Nano 6th Generation

I am currently living in Japan and managed to get an iPod nano 6th generation at the Apple Store in Shibuya. However, there are a few things that I am curious as to whether or not other users are experiencing. First, my songs are set to shuffle, and sometimes when I hit next song it will shuffle through 3 or 4 (my shake to shuffle feature is OFF). Once it gets to the song, it might show one songs cover but play a different song. Also, if a song is playing and I blank out the screen, the next song will sometimes play, but sometimes it won't at all. When I wake up the screen it appears as if the next song should be playing but it isn't. So far, this has been a little disappointing. Does this sound like a problem with the software and are others experiencing anything like this? Thanks in advance!

What you are describing sounds like tracks that have been put on your nano that are not authorized to play them.
First, go to itunes and sort your music by "Kind" if this column is not showing, right click and select the kind column to show up. Sort by this column and scroll down, you will most likely see some music where the kind is "Protected AAC" or something like that. If you look on your nano, you will see that the tracks that are not playing are the ones where their kind is "Protected AAC".
If this all ends up being right, you need to reauthorize your computer to play your music. Connect your ipod, then in itunes select 'Store>Deauthorize this computer'. Then, select 'Store>Authorize this computer'. Then restore your ipod and resync all your tracks. Once you are done, they should be authorized and you should be able to play them on your ipod.

IPod nano 6th gen. shuffle problem

Hi Everyone,
I just bought a iPod nano 6th generation but I have a problem with the shuffle function. When I select a playlist and choose "shuffle" it shuffles ALL the songs i have on my iPod, not just the playlist I selected... I would like to shuffle just the songs in one playlist.
How to solve this?

you just have to enter the playlist. select a song, press on the center of the screen, change page(going on the right side) and then choose shuffle(pressing on the symbol!) that's the way for shuffling your playlist!

IPod nano 6th generation. repeat is on, and I can't see a way to turn it off.

I have an iPod nano 6th generation. Shake to shuttle is turned on, though I can rarely get it to work. I can't find a repeat setting, but when I select shuffle, it always repeats. I can't find anything in the manual about how to turn repeat on or off. This behavior started a few weeks ago.

I reset all settings, and that seemed to clear it. I had to turn some back on. I still can't find anywhere to turn repeat off or on.

My ipod nano 6th generation isn't recognized

My Nano 6th generation will turn on fine, and will play music when the ear buds are plugged it. It also will charge when connected to either my computer, my car dock or an ihome dock. However, it will not be recognized by any of those medias when plugged it. I-tunes will not sync or recognize my ipod when puggled in, when it is plugged into my car port it says "no line in" and when in the i-home it just won't play.
I have tried reseting it with no lock, have tried to it in disk mode, but have been unsuccessful.
The support person I spoke suggested that I restore the ipod software thru itunes, but I can't even try that because my itunes/computer isn't detected my ipod when it is plugged in.
I have also tried "shoving it in real good" as the support tech suggested. No luck.
Any ideas?

This came from another thread, but worked for me. Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62. Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update). Reboot, and reinstall iTunes. It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano. Good luck.

Adding photos from iphoto to ipod nano 6th generation

I want to take photos from iphoto (mac os x 10.6.8) and put them on my ipod nano 6th generation. I can't find anything on itunes that mentions photos and my ipod doesn't show up in iphoto or applications.

Thanks. I followed through with those instructions. Now when I go to sync, I don't want everybody else's music to show up on my ipod. How do I sync? And if I check sync only checked songs, will it sync ALL checked songs? We have alot of songs, but I don't want all of them. How can I manually sync?
