My 6th generation nano will not sync with my library giving the message of "unknown error -39"

If you are syncing photos to the device, try removing the option to sync photos from your iPod and apply the changes. After it has finished unsyncing all of your photos, reapply the tick mark to see if that helps.

Try doing a level reformat of the iPod's flash storage instead to see if that kills the restore loop using the instructions in the article below.

How do I play all tracks on an album sequentially on iPod nano 6th generation ?

I have an ipod nano 6th generation. I want to play all tracks on an album sequentially (as if I was playing a CD) without having to select each one in turn. On my ipod nano it repeats the same song and wont move to the next one automatically. can anyone help ?

The repeat setting can be found from the Nano's Now Playing screen. While playing a track, swipe to the right to bring up additional controls including the scrubber bar, as well as the repeat and shuffle otpions. See page 21 of your iPod's User Guide for more assistance on the repeat setting.

You can sync the music videos, but they won't play on your 6G Nano, because it does not support video playback. Sorry.

The volume increase button is stuck on my iPod nano (6th Generation) and I can't turn the volume up. Is there a way to fix it?

I have the iPod nano 6th generation, and I have had it since Christmas 2011 so it isn't that old; recently I went to listen to my music and found that the volume increase button is stuck (basically it's like when you press the volume button down to increase the volume, except it is stuck down like that and won't come back up) but it was only stuck about 3/4 of the way down. For about a week this was ok, I just had to press the button harder to make it go down and increase the volume, but now it won't increase the volume at all and it feels and looks as though the button is stuck the whole way in, even when I press the button with some force. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could fix it or if I need to take it to an apple store for them to fix it?!
Sorry if the way I have explained the problem is confusing, it's difficult to explain but it's extremely frustrating.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Instead of taking it to the Apple store and paying $ the 99 service charge ( I did give Apple 139.00 13 months ago! for this ipod), I saturated the end of a q-tip w/ WD 40 and carfefully rubbed around the perimeter of the power button. I waited a half hour and then cleaned of the excess WD 40. This unstuck my power button. I guess the WD 40 dissovled all the dirt under and around (also the consrtuction of the buttons is done w/ double sided tape-- maybe a design issue) the button. A friend tried isopropyl alcohol w/ great results. Try this before you give Appple any more $$ or get a new ipod. It's been 6 wks. and my button functions perfectly,

My Ipd Nano 6th generation isn't recognized by my computer or iTunes. I've followed all the troubleshooters and have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes numerous times. I've checked for legacy software under device manager but I keep getting error 10.

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer.

My ipod nano 6th generation isn't recognized

My Nano 6th generation will turn on fine, and will play music when the ear buds are plugged it. It also will charge when connected to either my computer, my car dock or an ihome dock. However, it will not be recognized by any of those medias when plugged it. I-tunes will not sync or recognize my ipod when puggled in, when it is plugged into my car port it says "no line in" and when in the i-home it just won't play.
I have tried reseting it with no lock, have tried to it in disk mode, but have been unsuccessful.
The support person I spoke suggested that I restore the ipod software thru itunes, but I can't even try that because my itunes/computer isn't detected my ipod when it is plugged in.
I have also tried "shoving it in real good" as the support tech suggested. No luck.
Any ideas?

This came from another thread, but worked for me. Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62. Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update). Reboot, and reinstall iTunes. It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano. Good luck.

Have you tried using the iPod with another user account or computer, to help narrow down whether the problem lies with the computer, account, or the iPod itself?
Maybe try reformatting it, using the tools provided by Windows. Instructions on how to reformat your iPod can be found in this article.

Adding photos from iphoto to ipod nano 6th generation

I want to take photos from iphoto (mac os x 10.6.8) and put them on my ipod nano 6th generation. I can't find anything on itunes that mentions photos and my ipod doesn't show up in iphoto or applications.

Thanks. I followed through with those instructions. Now when I go to sync, I don't want everybody else's music to show up on my ipod. How do I sync? And if I check sync only checked songs, will it sync ALL checked songs? We have alot of songs, but I don't want all of them. How can I manually sync?

IPod Nano 6th Generation Not Charging/Holding Charge

Hi.
My iPod Nano 6th generation will not charge or hold a charge. I plug it in and it will turn on for about 30 seconds or less and then die. It will then continue to turn on and die unless I unplug it in which case it will die and not turn on. Any advice/suggestions and/or help finding what is wrong would be greatly appreciated. Nano 6th generation - shuffle reset to song 1 after turning off

I listen to my Nano 6th generation while commuting. I have shuffle on and it works fine during the week, when it just goes to sleep overnight. But over the weekend, with a more than two day break, it turns itself off. When I start it again it's on the song it was about to play before the weekend, but it's back at song 1 of xxx. This definitely didn't happen with my previous iPod - an old 1st generation Nano. Is this a feature or a bug?

From what others have stated, it seems to be a feature of the device.

Nano 6th Generation Sync'ing problems

How do I sync my ITunes library from my computer with windows 7, to my replacement ipod nano. When I plug the nano into the computer the nano says sync'ing for about 3 seconds but does not upload any of my songs or books. The ipod then goes to the message "Connected, eject before disconnected".
How do I get my iTunes library onto my new replacement nano 6th generation.

Nano 6th generation will not turn on but works when plugged in to itunes?

My son got a nano 6th generation for christmas 2010 and brought it to me the other day because the screen would not turn on. I plugged it into itunes and it was there, all songs were still on it. I tried to trouble shoot the device after unplugging it by holding down the negative volume button and the sleep button for 10 seconds. I repeated the steps but nothing happened. I plugged it back into itunes and restored the device to original settings. Still no display. Will Apple exchange the device if it has not been 12 months since date of purchase? Please advise. I am at a loss.!

Since your iPod is still under the 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects, I would take it in to your local Apple Store/Genius bar and see if they'll replace it, which they should as long as they determine the cause its not from accidental damage or use.
