Nano 7th G bluetooth no longer connects

I just bought the Nano 7th Gen about 3 weeks ago. It would link automatically to the Sync in my car and although sometimes I had to fiddle a lot, I was able to get it to link with my headset LP HBS-700.  Now it won't recognize either device. I tried unpairing the headset, but now it won't even find the device, again. Is there anything I can try to get this to work again.

Make sure your headset is in pairing mode before attempting to pair again to your nano.

  • Ipod nano 7th gen bluetooth bug?

It cannot discover or pair to any other devices, though other devices will discover the nano (but not pair).
Tried 4 different nano's and none work. Even the Apple store genius bar couldn't find a nano 7th gen that
works, and there were plenty of bluetooth enabled devices in there. The ipod touch worked just fine.

I am just puzzled with Apple Store, that if, they did tried to pair an iPod nano with other bluetooth devices that they sell in the shop and they were not able to succesfully pair these devices. More so trying to pair other nanos with the same result. I also have the 7th gen nano and it is pairing perfectly to my Jambox speaker. It is even pairing with my Samsung Galaxy S2 (just pairing though, with no functionality). Because as long as the ipod nano is ON, within the range, and compatible (which most bluetooth devices are), I do not see why the ipod nano or nanos will not be able to pair with any bluetooth device/s in the Apple Store. Sorry I cannot help you with this one.

  • Ipod Nano 7th Gen only charges when connected

So my friend had her Ipod Nano 7th generation laying around. She bought it from someone else. They both could not figure out how to use it so they kept selling it off cheap. I ended up getting it for a good price only  to come home, plug it into my computer, and all it does is charge it. My computer doesn't even recognize a device is plugged into it. I've downloaded, reinstalled, and made sure Itunes was updated but that's not the problem. The computer alone doesn't even seem to know its there.
The last time I had an ipod like this, I remember just having to right click on it in my devices and then go to Itunes and it was there. But with it being connected to my computer right now, full battery... It is like its invisible.
What I have all tried is below
    Making sure Itunes is updated
    Restarted Computer
    Connected and reconnected Ipod Nano
Held Center Button and Power button to reset it
Did the same thing to try and put it into disk mode
Reconnected the ipod to every possible USB port on my computer (3 different spots)
I feel like there was something missing when she dropped this off. When she delivered it, it came with the sync/charge cable, the ipod, and the arm band. Please help.

I believe you may have discovered why multiple people "kept selling it off cheap".
Unfortunately, it seems like the "good price" you got it for was a bit too high... Drop it in the recycle bin at your local electronics store the next time you're there.

  • Nano 7th gen bluetooth issues

Today my nano shut off and would not turn on. I waited a hour and tried holding the buttons and it turned on. Everything was good. A problem I had a few weeks ago was when the nano was shaken the blue tooth starts to disconect and reconect. After it turned off and would not turn on until now it is having more bluetooth issues. I use this to run and my head phones are moterola blue tooth running head phones. Does the nano have issues with this??
I reformated and everything. Should I return it??

The Nano has only two profiles, A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth, allowing it to connect with compatible headphones/speakers), and Low Energy, to connect with pulse meters, etc. It does no have File Transfer Protocol so you cannot use it to sync with your iPad or Samsung S3.

  • Ipod Nano 7th generation bluetooth compatiable with JBL flip

Just bought  a new nano and it is not connecting via bluetooth with the JBL flip. It does not seem to detect the speaker at all. Any suggestion to check the blutooth of the nano is working at all.

If you do a search here you will find the Flip comes up often. Make sure no other devices that have paired to the Flip are in the room with you and clear all pairings and put the Flip in discoverable mode.

  • Bluetooth no longer connects on iPhone 5

I have tried to connect my iPhone 5 to various bluetooth devices, 2 music players, 1 headset all of which in the past have connected.  I'm not sure when they stopped connecting because I don't use them that often but I would guess it has been in the past week or so.  Now nothing shows up as a saved device in my bluetooth menu on the phone and when I try to reconnect them nothing is sucessful.  I have tried turning bluetooth on and off, restarting the phone, restarting the device but to no avail, still get an error on the phone telling me to make sure the device is discoverable and in range.  So I tried to connect with my wife's iPhone 5 and instantly connects without issue to each device.  I am trying to do a restore my phone plugged into iTunes but iTunes now tells me it can't backup my phone because of an error (no other information).  My wifes phone backsup to the computer over wifi without an issue.  I have over 13gbs of pictures in my camera roll that I don't want to lose and I don't want to pay iCloud's storage fees just to get this working again.  Any suggestions?

We have a 2011 Buick Enclave and the Pairing worked.  I did have to hold the phone button, say Bluetooth, Say Delete, Say the specific device to Delete ...The Pair, I think enter the code (which changes each time you Pair) and then Name the New paired Device.  To test it, I typically have to turn the vehicle off, leave the vehicle and walk far enough away to make sure the phone is not paired.  While away, tune the phone totally off.  Turn the phone back on, enter and turn key far enough to have the electrical systems come on, and then push the phone button in the car.  Good Luck.

  • Latest updates to Apple caused Nano 7th generation to no longer work with vista

Hi, Itunes updates occurring thi summer (2014) seem to have compromised my Nano 6th generation's ability to sync with Vista.  It does sync with my Win 7 and Win 8 machines, however.  All of the suggestions put forth by Apple to resolve this Nano issue are, sadly, not working.  I sincerely believe that this is an Apple/Vista problem, and wonder if there is a patch.  I suspect not as Vista is going to be outmoded in early 2015, but if there are suggestions outside of the R's, I'd appreciate some input from the community.  The ipod is recognized by the computer, and it is able to 'juice', but the sync feature is not available.  Any ideas?  Old operating system for me, likely going to be retired - but I'm sure I'm not alone with the nano/itunes 11+ updates.  I have options and access to other operating systems, but other folks may not, so if there is any way to address this Itunes/Vista issue, that would be a big help.

Make sure your headset is in pairing mode before attempting to pair again to your nano.

  • Ios 8 update, on 5s, Bluetooth no longer connects to my 2012 mini

My iphone 5s was working perfectly fine with my mini before the update my 4s before hand too.  While I can plug it in and listen to music it just will not connect to my car or when it finally does it drops out as you try to make a call. This has to be an IOS 8 fault right? A guy in the apple store says its down to the manufacture. I called mini who replied with "obviously its to do with the update nothing we can do". I tend to agree with mini.
Is anyone else having the same problem?

Check your contacts aren't in another group other than iCloud, only iCloud contacts will sync.

  • Ipod nano 7th g is not rcognised by computer after itunes update

My ipod nano 7th generation is no longer recognised by my computer after the latest itunes update. Newest software is on my windows 8 computer... Any ideas?

    Hello, Arndt262.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your device is not recognized by iTunes, I would recommend the steps in the article below.  Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

  • Itunes has stopped detecting my ipod nano 7th generation

Hi I have recently bought an ipod nano (7th generation). Initially I connected it to my computer and everything was working fine but it has now stopped appearing when I connect it to iTunes. It connects - the ipod screen shows it is connected - but I cannot sync it or transfer music.
I have tried it on my wife's computer and it works as normal but all my music is on my laptop. I don't know if I need to download a mobile support or something but it's very frustrating. I have the latest version of iTunes on  both laptops/
I've followed the steps on the online help but the ipod isn't even appearing in my laptop's device manager. Gratedful for any help

It's working now, apple must have updated itunes that fixed the issue, not sure.

  • Problems connecting Nano 7th generation to bluetooth in car

Why does my new nano 7th generation have problems connecting to my cars's bluetooth.  All it does is search, search, search.etc etc etc?

Does your car use the A2DP Bluetooth profile? If not, I'm afraid you won't be able to connect the iPod to your car stereo system via Bluetooth.
