Nano 7th Gen. plays music from a deleted playlist.

In December added a Xmas playlist to my iPod.  In January I deleted the Xmas playlist.  I continue to have music from the Xmas playlist play despite a subsquent review of 1400 songs on 3 remaining playlists.  I see no titles from the Xmas playlist.  What do I do now?

Hi Kerry Fan,
If you have all the content that is currently on your iPod nano in iTunes, the most direct way of resolving this may be to restore the iPod to factory settings, then reload the content back from iTunes. You may find the following article helpful:

  • Ipod nano 7th gen - downloaded music using itunes (mac) and have now discovered it won't play on my JVC car stereo.

    It says it can't read the files and when I looked up the car stereo manual it says it won't read any files not done on windows media.  Is there any easy solutions around this? as it was purchased solely for use with the car stereo... :-(

    If you want to make song files from your iTunes library available on your car audio system, and it connects using a USB port, a new iPod nano is a very expensive way to do it.  If that's the only reason for getting the iPod nano, you should return it and get a cheap 8 or 16GB USB flash drive instead, which costs less than $20.  Here's one that barely sticks out of the USB port.

    You can then leave it connected in the car all the time, except for when you want to update the songs.  An iPod is more fragile (especially screen and battery), and you'll have to always remember to remove it, in case the car overheats or freezes.  It would also be a target for thieves.
    For the audio file format, I can't believe any car audio system would ONLY play Window Media files, and not the most common type of audio files, MP3.  Songs purchased from the iTunes Store, and those ripped from music CD (using the default settings), are in AAC format.  It's possible the car system does not play AAC.  So, I would try songs from your iTunes library that are in MP3 format.
    You can use iTunes to convert songs from AAC (or any iTunes supported format) to MP3.  So, if MP3 works, and you need details on how to convert audio format using iTunes, please post back.  You cannot convert to WMA format (which is Windows Media audio) using iTunes.

  • How do I blutooth from my SIII to my nano 7th gen for music

    I have just gotton the new ipod nano as my old one died. I've tried to use the bluetooth between my SIII and nano but neither will connect is there a way around this as I don't really want to pay for songs I already have.

    Ultimately, an iPod nano is loaded (synced) from a computer running iTunes.  There is no way to directly connect it to another mobile device, not even Apple's mobile devices.
    What you need to research is how to offload the music on the S3 to your computer.  If you can do that, and the song files are MP3, AAC, WMA, or some other format that can be imported into iTunes, you can then simply sync those songs to the nano, like any of your songs in the iTunes library.

  • Why cant i play music from old ipod playlist

    I have an old ipod classic with quite a few playlist that were created on a very old version of Itunes.  I just finished building a new pc thats running windows 7 64 bit and I have succesfully loaded Itunes. When I conect my Ipod classic to itunes and attempt to play an old playlist, the playlist is not populated and none of the songs show up. I can create a playlist with the newest version of Itunes and the playlist will play with out any poblems, its just the old playlist that were created some time ago that will not function.

    You need to use something like podtomac or podtopc to get all of your music off the iPod first.
    Once it's on your PC/Mac, sync it in the normal way.
    make sure the iPhone is de-authorized from your friend's PC and authorised on yours and that you are using your own iTunes login

  • Can Firefox play music from a .m3u playlist?

    I have a webpage with a .m3u playlist, and Firfox asks for an add but says that no add-on is available.
    The code on my page is :
    <embed name="playlist"
    src="Music/playlist.m3u"
    width="300"
    height="20"
    loop="false"
    hidden="false"
    autostart="true">
    </embed>
    Can anyone please tell me if there a fault with my code or my Firefox setup. The code works OK with IE, but not Safari

    This is the code whihc I ended up with by trial and error:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    document.write('<embed type="application/x-mplayer2" pluginspage="http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/MediaPlayer/" Name="MediaPlayer" src="Music/playlist.m3u" AutoStart="true" ShowStatusBar="1" ShowControls="2" ShowDisplay="1" volume="1" HEIGHT="150" WIDTH="1000" loop="true"><br>');
    // End -->
    </script>
    So I guess it's Windows Media Player. The original script I found had options for IE and other browsers, but I couldn't work out to display the controls in the IE option, so settled for a single embedded player which works with 4 browsers, although not as neatly as I would like.

  • Does the new Ipod Nano (7th gen?) have a Lock?

    The older ipods had Lock Buttons. How do I 'lock' or prevent my Nano (7th gen I think) from turning on when I don't want it to.

    Press the sleep button on the top. Hold it down if you want to completely shut down the Nano.

  • ITunes 7.6 Bug: Does not play music from Intelligent Playlists

    Since I upgraded to iTunes 7.6 I can no longer play music from my intelligent playlists. Whenever I try it will remove the song from the playlist instead of playing it.
    Has anybody else experienced this and maybe found a solution?
    And if not, how can I downgrade to iTunes 7.5?

    ... and one other thing: I had to re-activate my computer repeatedly to be able to listen to the music bought in the iTunes store. After several vain attempts it finally worked when I accessed the piece directly in my music library instead of from a playlist. However, my computer was re-activated as a new pc although it had been activiated already before the upgrade.
    And as to changing the infos - in my case to Soundtrack - this works only as long as the intelligent playlist tries to actually play he song. Then the info changes back automatically to the former status - in my case the German "Filmmusik" (meaning soundtrack in German).
    So it seems that this is simply a localisation (or purely German?) problem with iTunes getting mixed-up with the non-English and English definitions. I now have changed all genre infos to "Filmmusik" instead of Soundtrack, and voila, it is working. - Very strange, indeed.
    Anyway, for the time being I will not mark this thread as solved as I am not sure that this is the permanent solution.

  • I got a new iPod nano 7th gen., but when I tried downloading a video from my iTunes library a message popped up that said: Some of the videos in your iTunes library cannot be copied to your iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod.

    I got a new iPod nano 7th gen, but when i tried downloading a video from my iTunes library a message popped up that said: Soem of the videos in your iTunes library were not copied to yor iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod. What should I do?

    I kept having a similar problem - 3 out of the 10 videos I had on iTunes wouldn't sync. They were in the right format and I KNEW they worked on my iPod because I'd RECORDED them on my iPod. I finally figured out what to do! Go to the movies in your iTunes library. Click on one that does not sync. Click on "Advanced" at the top of iTunes and choose "Create iPod or iPhone version". Once that's finished, be sure you delete the old version so you don't keep getting the error (or have 2 copies of the same video) and sync. This should eliminate the problem. At least it did for me!

  • My ipod nano 7th gen no longer shows "Playlists" in the music menu. No changes made other than deleting one and adding one playlist to those synced. Synced fine in late February. Not working as of 3/7/2014.

    I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
    - Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.   This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.
    If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • How to stream movies from an ipod nano 7th gen

    I just bought an iPod nano 7th gen and I own an Apple TV and a lightning connector  to hdmi cable. Is there a way to put movies from my iPod on my tv

    The 6th gen nano could not play videos, so it certainly could not stream them to a TV.  It may have been able to show photo slideshows on a TV screen.
    The 5th gen nano (plus 3rd and 4th gen) may have had the ability, but I don't think its output was HDMI.  You could use this
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC748ZM/A/apple-composite-av-cable
    to output a composite (non-digital) signal to a TV.  But the new nano has a Lightning connector, so I probably won't work (even if you use an adapter).

    AAll of your iTunes purchases can be re-downloaded again. Log into iTunes Store, select the Purchases tab for Apps, Music, etc.
    if you've been syncing your old iPod with iTunes, you can restore everything to your new iPod from the old backup.
