Nano and contacts and pictures

hello,
q.1 - i put the contacts on my nano - thourgh outlook - but now i want to delete a contact or two and don't know how.
q.2 - ias stated i put contacts and pictures in my nano, but i can't see the "folder" when openning itunes (i guess it can't be seen threw it.
q.3 - the instructions on this site say you can drag contacts and pictures but i don't kow how.

You need to remove them from the folder you are updating pictures from.
If you want to stop updating all pictures, connect the iPod and go to edit-->preferences when it appears in iTunes. Click the iPod tab. Click the photos tab under that. Uncheck synrhonize photos from. Click OK.
I have my photo library organized on my computer, and didn't want to change it for the iPod. So, I created a folder called "iPod Pics." Under the photo preferences for the iPod, I told iTunes to sync from there. I just put in and remove photos that I want for my iPod there. This way, I don't need to edit the My Pictures folder just for my iPod.

Only if you have a more recent backup with which to restore from - if you've only got the one from 3 months ago then you will be limited to what was on that.

Yes. Just sync them to the same iTunes library. iTunes will keep track of each so you can put what you want on each. I do this with a 3G and iPad2. Note that each device will have it's own backup.

No. In fact, it is possible to uninstall iTunes and then re-install iTunes without losing any content.
Removing, updating, and repairing the application has no affect on the media stored on the system.

I have 2 mobilme accts - one my asst uses for y ical and address book and one I use for my personal email - can I push email from one mobilme acct and contacts and address from other? - I used to be able to on 2.0 but I cant seem to on 3.0...Any thoughts?

Short answer, no, not on the iPhone itself.
You can't do it on the iPhone itself. If you have a mac, then you have to hook it up to your computer and in iPhoto create the albums.
Then in iTunes you can tell it which albums you want put onto the iphone.
If you have a windows comptuer, I'm not sure which program you use, but you can create albums on there as well, then choose which albums in iTunes you want synced to the phone.

The data gets sync'd only when it changes.
So you are out in the field with no internet.
You make a change on your iPhone. It doens't get sync'd to your computer.
Who cares,? Yo have the data on your phone and you don't have your computer.
Now you drive back to town. When you get a data connection, everything sync's up.
why remove the functionality to sync everything else at the same time, should the user choose or need to do so.
The Sync Services functionality was removed from the OS, so there is nothing for iTunes to use.
It still works in Windows.

IPhone 4S fell on some water, was working but now won't work. I got a replacement coming. Can I use the old Sim card in the new phone if it wasn't damaged? Will I get my pictures and contacts and messages back if it wasn't damaged?

My iPhone 4S accidentally fell into a very shallow bit of water. The phone was wet, but worked afterwards for a short bit. Now it's not working, so I called and got a replacement phone coming. Same exact phone. Can I use the old Sim card in the new phone without harming anything? I don't know if the sim card got messed up or not, but I had a lot of pictures and messages and my contacts on my phone, and I assume these were on the sim card or am I wrong? I just wan to know if I can use the old sim card if it's still working in the new phone that is coming, as long as there was no damage to it? Thanks

I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.
Ralph - F.Y.I. I would be happy to back up the iPhone if I could turn it on LOL......I am pretty positive I did, but what about Text messages? ANY of those saved too or not? Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. I just hope my stuff comes back on the new replacement phone once I get it up and running. Again, thanks to everybody for the edumucation.

3g Nano "forgets" contacts and calendars until reset?

I have a bunch of calendars and contacts on my Mac, which I have set up to sync to my 3g Nano via iTunes. However, after syncing, when I try to access them on the Nano, they don't appear. The Nano says that there are no contacts, and the calendar is blank. However, if I reset the Nano (by holding down the select and Menu buttons), upon restarting, the calendars and contacts are accessible.
Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Multiple Calendars and Contacts - and the real ones won't sync!

My iPhone (first generation, 4GB) has been working fine for the last 9 months but has developed a scary problem shortly after I upgraded it to 2.1 firmware.
The Calendar now shows as two separate "accounts", titled "On My iPhone" and "Untitled Account". The "On My iPhone" account has 4 different calendars (Home, Work, Untitled, and Untitled2). None of these calendars have any actual data in them, other than me putting in a couple of test appointments. The other account contains the three calendars that I've been using all along - those calendars have lots of appointments, birthdays, etc.
There's a similar situation with my Contacts. It suddenly shows two separate "Groups", called "Imports" and "Special Contacts". The "Imports" list is basically empty, and all my hundreds of contacts are listed in the "Special Contacts" group.
This is all a little puzzling, but the ugly problem is that my REAL Calendars and Contacts are not getting synced. All of my iCal and Contacts data has been wiped out on the MacBook that I use to sync my iPhone with. So, on my MacBook both my iCal and my Address Book are basically empty. (They used to have exactly the same data as my iPhone.)
Here's what I've already done to debug: My MacBook is running the latest Apple software (OS 10.5.5 and iTunes 8.0.1). I've done a "Reset All Settings" and also I've done an "Erase all Content and Settings" and then restored my iPhone from the backup on my MacBook. FORTUNATELY my Calendars and Contacts seem to have been backed up ok, even if they're not syncing. Also, just in case the problem was on my iBook, I also have tried to backup and sync to an XP laptop, also with iTunes 8.0 - no luck - backup/sync runs ok (no errors reported) but no Calendar or Contacts data is shown in Outlook.
Lastly, today, I talked to a Genius at the local Apple store - he looked at the iPhone for a few minutes, said he'd never seen anything like it, and didn't know what to do about it besides restoring the iPhone to factory condition and hand-typing in all the Contacts and Calendar data again. But really, I can't even do that - since the data won't sync, I can't even print it out!
Any ideas????

I still haven't found a solution. My calendar and contact items seem safe on my iPhone, but I need to be able to sync them to my MacBook.

Using iCloud (for calendar and contacts) AND MobileMe for Keychain

Does anyone who's migrated to iCloud know if it's possible to sync Address Book and Calendar through iCloud and the Keychain through MobileMe (on a separate account)?
Situation is as follows:
I have two accounts - one MobileMe (which I use today for calendar and contact syncing) and an Apple ID (which I used for iTunes)
I wish to convert the iTunes account to an iCloud account
That leaves me with my un-converted MobileMe which I'd like to continue to use for Keychain syncing until Apple puts that functionality in iCloud or they retire MobileMe.
I guess - the nub of the question is - is it still possible to access the MobileMe preference pane and put in a different account when iCloud is up and syncing?

I've looked at the iDisk and there's no way to do it automatically. However when you're back at your home iMac, you can copy the files that you find in ~/Library/Keychains onto your iDisk. Then when you're at your friend's iMac, you can copy the *.keychain files in your iDisk to the ~/Library/Keychain folder on your friend's machine (in the account that you're using).
That way - you can open your keychain locally - although it won't sync backwards and forwards. An alternative is to use a third-party product such as 1Password - of which there's an iPad app - as well as a web interface (when combined with Dropbox).

Music on one PC and contacts and diary on another

Planning to trade in my Blackberry for an iphone 4. I keep all my music on my home PC and all my contacts and diary on my work PC. Can I sync my phone with both PCs succesfully.It seems that there might be some issues with it.

You can sync Music/Videos (media) with one computer.
You can sync Contacts/Calendars (data) with multiple.
Just need to choose proper settings when syncing.
You will find it best to sync at home first to get media on (can even sync contacts if you want).
Then go to work and when you plug in it will know it was synced with another computer and default sync options off. Just turn on contacts and all will be good (will merge data if you did sync contacts with home so up to you). If you try to toggle on sync music it will warn you.

You don't, instead you subscribe to the iCloud calendar which is competely independent of Outlooks local calendar.
