Nano doesn't turn on

GRRRRRRRRRRRR. I've had nothing but problems with this player. iTunes Store never worked and now this. The batteries ran low for the first time (I've had it for about 2-3 months and I always charged it) and after charging the Nano started just really screwing up. The first time I tried to turn it off was when I started charging it. It went off, but then 2 seconds after the Apple logo appeared and it was on again. I truned it off. Then after it was charged I turned it on listed to it a bit and when I tried turning it off the same thing happened. Then I went out tried turning it on and nothing. I tried all sorts of ways to turn it on. I connected my headphones to see if it would automaticlly turn on, nothing. I connected it to the computer, nothing. WHAT IS GOING ON???????????

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 100 times. I guess I missed that page, but now it's working again. The strange thing is that it showed that the batteries were drained, and I hadn't used it in just 2 days.

  • NIB 4th Gen nano doesn't turn on

Yesterday I got an unopened 4G nano (leftover from company promotional handouts/prizes). The i-pod runs fine when plugged into the computer, and the charging indicators show up as expected. Once unplugged (after properly ejecting), it turns off and is unresponsive, no matter how long it has been charged (tried charging overnight). Googling has turned up similar experiences, and the solution was always "Take it back!". Given the age, no purchase proof etc., I don't expect any apple support on this. Could the battery be bad after sitting unused for a couple years?

    Hello!

  • Light of nano won't turn off - normal??

    Hi @ all!
    My problem:
While connected to my Computer and also connected to iTunes, my iPod nano doesn't turn off its light as the 2nd gen nano did. It just stays lit on, saying 'Connected' and the 'disconnect from iTunes first' stuff as it should (i hope it should ^^)
    Is that normal?
Shouldn't it turn off the light, as it's kinda waste of Electricity and it might have to load the battery longer as its lit all the time.
Also I think that it's not very good for the display to show the same thing with light on for let's say 3 hours.
Could anyone help me? Is it normal that the light stays turned on while connected to iTunes on 3rd gen iPod nanos?
    Thanx in advance

It stays on untill you "eject" it. After that you can leave it plugged in and the light will turn off like normal. You can let it charge as is, or you can turn the nano off. Either way it will charge with the light off.

  • My iPod nano shuffle doesn't turn on.

I lost my iPod nano about 1 or 2 months ago, I  found it today and it didn't turn on so I though it could be the battery, so I put it to charge but It doesn't turn on and I dont' even know if it's charging... Help!

How long have you left it to charge?  It can take up to at least 30 minutes (sometimes longer) for the iPod to show any signs of life.  After leaving it to charge for a few hours, try resetting it. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • IPod nano doesn't power on

I received a couple of days ago an iPod Nano as a replacement for the 1g Nano with battery problems.
I was listening to some radio stations, and it suddenly turned off. I thought the battery went down since it already was at low levels, so I connected it to the power supply for 1h. It still doesn't turn on. I also tried to hold down the volume down and the standby button for 20s, but nothing happens.

Contact Apple Support about the issue as the replacement Nano should still be under the 90 warranty that came with it.

  • My Ipod nano 7th generation turned off and won't turn back on. what should I do?

my Ipod nano 7th generation turned off and won't turn back on. what should I do?

If you have done the reset and nothing appears and you are sure it still has a charge and it doesn't turn on, you may request for a replacement if it still covered by the warranty. Cheers!

  • New ipod touch doesn't turn on when plugged in

i just bought my ipod touch yesterday. when i plugged it into my imac using the usb cable, it doesn't turn on to show that it's charging like my nano does when it's turned off. i had to turn the touch on before i could see the huge green battery icon. is there something wrong with my ipod touch? i read on other forums that it should 'turn on' to show the battery icon charging when i plug in an ipod that's turned off. i can't find any answers to my question elsewhere.
    please help! thanks so much!

Try after being connected to a charging source for at least an hour:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod doesn't turn on or do anything...

I have a 3rd Gen iPod Nano that hasn't been working for awhile and I'm trying one last ditch attempt before deciding to purchase a new product. It displays the following problems:
    - It doesn't turn on. It doesn't react to anything: connecting it to the computer (Mac or Windows), trying to Reset, moving the Hold switch, etc.
    - iTunes gives the following error message: "The iPod software update server could not be contacted. The server does not support this version of iTunes."
    - There is a "More Information" button on said error message, it takes me to this page: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/updaterestore/?error=1478 This is a support page for iPhones and iPod Touch, a product which I don't have.
    - I have tried some of the solutions on this page: I have the latest version of iTunes, connecting it on a different computer (I can't recall what the computer said though), opening the ports to the Apple servers.
Is this iPod gone for good or has anyone ever encountered this issue?

Grawr!! Mines acting up the same way!! Who ever can help me I will bow before their feet. I miss my music, and I can't get a new I-pod because the warranty expired and I got it from a friend for my birthday.

  • My Nano can't turn on.

I have no idea whats wrong, but my iPod Nano won't turn on anymore.
Basicly what happened was I was using my PC to host all the songs for my nano. Then I bought this laptop and I decided to finally move my music library over to this computer (laptop). It worked fone for about 5 minutes (plugged in) until I downloaded and installed the iPod Nano update. I came back later only to see that my iPod was off.
Now my computer won't even reconise something is connected when I plug it in.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
      Windows XP

    Have a read through these.

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Macbook Pro Screen doesn't turn on?

So, I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro 15". About two weeks ago, my macbook screen just stopped working. I shut it down, and since then it's been practically "dead". The display doesn't turn on, the logo on the back is off; Essentially, the whole display of the mac doesn't get powered on.  However, the startup noise is still there when I turn it on. I've been using it in a monitor as of now and it works fine with the monitor. This is the thing though, the screen is perfectly fine!! About a week ago in the morning when I turned it on, the display turned on. the screen had been white, and the apple logo popped up, it looked completely fine. Sadly I had to go to school and when I came back, no matter how many times I restarted it or did anything to it, the screen would just not turn on. Yesterday, I was showing my friend and restarted it, turned it on, then nothing. Tried it again while doing random keyboard strokes and the display turns on. Excitement in my eyes, it actually restarts and for the first time in two weeks I was to see my desktop and see my mouse moving around, all the icons, everything! The display and everything on it was working perfectly normal, no noise, no distortion, no odd colour, no issues on the display at all. My friend boots it to windows and the display stops working and again since then it hasn't worked. It's alive and perfectly normal in there, but I just don't know how to give it what it needs to bring it back that way.
Does anyone know anything to help me on this? It's quite frustrating when you see it work, then shut off. I can't use it at school to do my work anymore and it's such a nuisance.

You have a hardware problem. More than likely it is the cable that goes from the logic board to the display. It sounds like an internmitent short. Works sometimes not at other times.
The only way to fix a hardware problem is to replace the faulty piece of hardware and the only people that do that is either an Apple store or an Apple authorized repair center. That is unless you can diagnose the actual failed hardware part, find one from an Aftermarket Mac parts seller and replace the part yourself.

my phone doesn't want to turn off or on, it gives me the apple logo and doesn't turn on at all, help please??

Do a reset by holding the power and home button until the apple logo appears ignoring the slide to power off (no data loss).
