Nano-Nike "not supported"

Okay,
System:
OS 10.4.8
iTunes - Under About iTunes 7.02 (1S)
Ipod Nano Black 2GB
Under About:
Version 1.3
Nike+iPod Receiver 1.0.1
Original Kit bought when they first came out but given away as a gift. Plugged it in and it worked then boxed backed up and given away.
Bought a kit for myself today. When I plug the receiver in I get " The currently attached accessory is not supportd by this iPod"
Went into iTunes and restored my iPod. It is now clean, 1.83GB available. I still get the same message.
So it does see the receiver, because it is in the "About" section of the Nano, it just says it isn't supported. Also says the same thing on my son's Nano.
If we don't get it figured out by tomorrow, I'll take it back and get a different one and see if that fixes the problem.
Thanks for any help.
Matt

Took my kit and nano back to the shoe store. Exchanged the kit, plugged it into the nano and everything worked perfect.

  • IPod Nano generation 6 not supported by BMW 525 2009

I recently bought a Nano generation 6. I connected it with my BMW 525 2009 but got the message that the Nano is not supported. I have an older model iPod (60 GB) that works fine with the same BMW. Are there more users having this problem and does anybody have a solution?

3GS is still sold officially and new. iPad first generation isn't. Android is even worse about things like this.
PLEASE don't branch this into twenty different threads, and keep it in the two that already exist.

  • Nike+ receiver not supported by iPod Nano!?

I've just purchased a pair of Nike+ running shoes together with the receiver and sensor kit for my iPod Nano. I've updated my Nano (which I regularly do) but somehow I get the following message on my display"the currently attached accessory is not supported by this iPod" whenever I plug the brand new receiver into my iPod!?
    iPod Nano

You'll probably get a quicker response if you post in the appropriate Nike + iPod Sport Kit forum for your generation (1st or 2nd generation) of Nano.
    Good luck.

  • "Nike + Ipod" piece not supported by my IPOD

Just bought the Nike + IPod sensor pack with the Ipod adapter, but when I plug in the adapter into my Ipod 5th generation, I get the followiong message "The currently attached accessory is not supported by this Ipod". What do I do to make it work?
Thanks for the help in advance!

The Nike+ Sport kit will only work with Nanos (all generations) and the 2nd gen Touch. There is nothing to be done to make it work with a 5th gen. Sorry.

Can I revert back to a previous version? Or must I upgrade to a newer device? Thank you for you expertise!!

  • IPod Nano 7th Gen says "Unsupported. Accessory is not supported" when trying to charge / sync

iPod Nano 7th Gen says "Unsupported. Accessory is not supported" when trying to charge / sync with official apple lightening cable.
It worked for almost a year then suddenly began to say that. My computer [windows], lightening cable and my power brick [all apple official] are all the same as they were when it was working. The iPod is almost a year old now, and has worked perfectly up until about a week ago.
I have tried resetting the iPod, plugging it into different charging sources but it keeps saying "Unsupported. Accessory is not supported"
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?
    Thanks.

Your iPod Nano firmware and iTunes updated to the current versions?
It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.

  • How can I get my stereo to play music videos from my Ipod Nano?  It comes up with the message "This device not supported".  Strangely my Iphone IS recognised.  The stereo, Ipod, and Iphone are less than 4 months old. Any suggestions welcome!

How do I get my Ipod to play music videos through my theatre system?  I keep getting the message "This device not supported".  My theatre system WILL recognise my Iphone however.  The theatre system, Ipod, and Iphone are all less than 4 months old.  Any suggestions welcome!

Check with the theater system vendor and see if their system is compatible with the Nano. The resolution on the Nano may be too low for the system.

  • My ipod nano this morning has started to tell me the accessory (lightening to 30-pin adaptor) I use for playing it through my docking station is not supported. It worked fine up until last night. Does anyone know why this might be?

Clean any debris from the adapter, docking station connector and the connector on the Nano.

  • Reciever not detected -- Nano+Nike System Failure

I'm on my 3rd Nike+ system. After approximately 20+ miles of running, my nano would no longer can detect the reciever. It would 'stop' the workout mid-way through and after that, the nano will not detect the reciever. I've replaced the sensor twice (and nano twice) and now the sensor went bad again.
I've had very bad reliability with this Nano+Nike system. Does anyone have any suggestions??

  • Sometimes I get a message that reads " UNSUPPORTED Accessory is not supported" when I plug in my bluetooth transmitter to my gen 6 nano. Other times it works fine. Is there a fix for this?

Sometimes I get a message that reads " UNSUPPORTED Accessory is not supported" when I plug in my bluetooth transmitter to my gen 6 nano. Other times it works fine. Is there a fix for this?

Have you checker the connectors on both the transmitter and Nano for any signs of damaged, corroded pins?  It might help to take a can of compressed air to each.  The error message may be simply a result of the iPod Nano not getting a full connection with the transmitter at first.

  • I bought nano 7th generation and docking station adapter, now nano reads  Unsupported Acccessory is not supported" and nano will not operate in IPOD docking station??

My ipod nano 7th generation requires a docking adapter which I bought however when connected to docking station a message appears "unsupported accessory is not supported" how do I correct this so it will play?

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.
This is lightning to 30 pin adapter: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple%26%23174%3B---Lightning-to-30-Pin-Adapter/6651 936.p?id=1218803450821&skuId=6651936#tab=overview
    Is this what you bought?
You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

The AirPort Extreme should work fine with BT Infinity (as it works with Virgin Media).

  • Ipod nano 5th generation not supported by iTrip fm transmitter

Hey all! So I have a new ipod, 5th geneneration nano, and an old FM transmitted for my car from iTrip. When I plug it in it says not supported by this device. I heard I can do a software update of some kind to make this work? Just thought I would see what I could do before I bought a new device to use my ipod in my car! Any suggestions?? Thanks!

    Hello Wittrockj,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
I don't really have much to offer, but I noticed your alias as "Wittrockj." I find it a bit crazy, because I myself am a Wittrock, and I hardly ever run into to too many. Anyways, nice to meet you.
As to the FM transmitter, have you checked the manufacturer's website or contacted them via telephone or email? They would have a better idea on this sort of thing. Considering the transmitter was released before the iPod, I think your chances are pretty slim when it comes to your Nano being compatible with it.

  • Error message "The currently attached accessory is not supported by this iPod" is shown when connected to my Zeppelin Air Dock.

I have 2 iPods, one is a 60GB Classic formatted to Mac the other is a 80GB Classic formatted to Windows. When either is connected to my Zeppelin Air Dock, a message appears on the iPod saying "The currently attached accessory is not supported by this iPod"
I have updated the firmware on the Zeppelin and have the latest updates on each of the iPods.
The Zeppelin works fine and connects to the computer and laptop without issues.

I'm having the same problem, it just started today. I've been running w/ the nike+ sensor and receive w/ my iPod nano for 6 months, logging 75 runs, so don't understand why I'm getting this error now.
Can someone please reply w/ how to resolve this issue? I have Nike+ challenges coming up soon that I can't miss. Thanks!
