Nano no longer charges on iHome

So, my nano stopped charging on my iHome 5. I can dock it and play music on it, but it fails to charge. Any idea what I can do?
Thanks.

No suggestions. Sorry. But to share the pain. 4 must be the Vista of Apple. Since upgrading my 3gs gets physically very warm, which never happened before. I can't leave the phone charging connected to my notebook via a USB cable, which I could always do before: the phone actually drains. The multitasking feature is lousy: every app I run stays on, I can't control what is running unless I physically turn off the app, which is a design defect. How do I return the phone to the old OS unless and until Apple gets its act together?

  • My iHome no longer charges my ipod. How do I fix it?

I have an iHome model H120B that I have had for a little over a year. Until recently, it worked perfectly fine and I loved my little cube of an alarm clock. Then, one day it decides to no longer charge my iPod. It worked perfectly the day before, and then when I plugged in my iPod it said charging is not supported on this accessory. I have an iPod Touch 4g, if it helps. Any solutions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

What system and iPhoto versions are you running?  Did you exoprt directly to the flash drive or the hard drive first?  If it was the former try the latter (to the hard drive) and check to see if the music syncs correctly.  What is the format of the flash drive?

  • My wife's nano no longer is recognized by Windows but my ipod touch is?  How can I fix this?

My wife's nano no longer is recognized by Windows but my ipod touch is?  How can I fix this?

My iPod touch is always recognized by my Vista Box...using the same USB cable and port my wife's nano isn't detected anymore.  Since Vista can't see the nano iTunes can't see it either.  When I try my wife's nano I get the message:
"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows doesn't recognize it.  For assistance in solving this problem, click this message"
I thought her nano wasn't charged enough but I've charged it for hours and this doesn't make a difference.  It used to synch like my ipod touch but it stopped working about a week ago.  My wife's nano still holds songs and works it just can't be recognized by Windows.  I even checked if the Apple Mobile Device app was running and it was and I stopped it and restarted it.  Didn't make any difference.  Any ideas?

  • Nano no longer shows up as device in itunes

My nano no longer shows up as a device in Itunes.  Connection is good as it still charges, but nothing when I plug it in.  Does not show up as device in windows either.

Until you fix it, make future purchases in itunes direct.
Are you using a different computer? Mac or Windows?
    Which iTunes version?
Any security software potentially blocking access to AppleTV from iTunes.
AppleTV1 as you know has 2 modes - streaming and syncing.  It has to be configured as a sync library for purchases to transfer to itunes and for you to sync to it.  Synced content appears under My Movies etc.  Streaming only content appears under My Shared Movies etc if a sharing libarry is configured.
You cannot copy purchases back to a shared itunes library only the sync library.  Both sync and share connected AppleTVs however should appear under Devices in itunes.  Can you send a song to AppleTV from itunes using Airplay?  The fact that you can buy on AppleTV means it's connected to the internet - it does not mean that it is connected with iTunes on your LAN - the 2 things are separate.
If you no longer have a sync library you would need to change exisitng settings which will delete current synced material but apparently (never tested so can't be sure) not non-backed up purchases.
Under AppleTV's Settings>Computers menu, the top entry is teh sync library - if this is greyed out then either it's no longer available (eg different computer) or AppleTV and itunes are not connected.  If you select it and choose to remove it,you can re-add the AppleTV to itunes afresh - if itunes doesn't see the AppleTV requesting a pairing when you try this either there's a communication/network issue (hardware or software related) or perhaps itunes installation corruption.
    Good luck.

  • My iPod Touch will no longer charge from a wall socket, only my computer. HELP!

My 4th generation iPod Touch will no longer charge from a wall socket, only my computer. I tried buying a new cable and USB charging socket (and I bought one made by Apple), but that did not fix the problem. I restored it from iTunes, hoping that would work as well, but that failed. I am at my wit's end. Can anybody here help me? I've bought new equipment, tried rebooting, restoring, etc. but nothing so far has proven successful. If anyone's got a solution, please help!
    Thanks!

All I can suggest is the standared fixes. It seems very strange
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Bring the cable and Apple wall charger too.

  • IPhone 3G no longer charges from car stereo

    Hello all,
I can no longer charge my iPhone 3g from my car stereo since updating to version 2.1.
I have a Panasonic CQ-RX400U with a USB connector on the front. Prior to the update I was able to connect and charge the phone and play the iPod from the stereo using the USB to iPod/iPhone cable. There was a compatibility warning on the iPhone when I did this, but it worked. After the update, the phone makes the initial charging sound, but never gets to the iPod, then repeatedly tries to connect without success and continuing t make the charging chirp sound.
Just wondering if anyone experienced similar issues post 2.1 update.
I'm going to ask Panasonic if the may have an update available as well, to correct the problem.
    Thanks,
    Bob Y.

I'm afraid that the link is somewhat irrelevant to my problem.
The problem is, that nothing happens whatsoever, when I connect my iphone to my computer. No charge, no nothing.
I connected my fiances iphone to my computer and it charged, and itunes recognized it without any problem.
However, I did try what the link suggested and nothing worked

  • IPad 3rd gen no longer charges unless shut off and not recognized by iTunes

iPad 3rd gen no longer charges unless shut off and not recognized by iTunes.  Done 2 resets, used original charger and cable and bought brand new charger and cable from Apple store.  Nothing works.  This started yapping after the iOS 7.1.1 update.

Common troubleshooting is to try a different USB port and to give your ipad a reset. (hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot)
You can also try on a different computer to see if it's the ipad or the computer.
When you charge, do you try to charge plugged into the wall? that's the best way to charge.
If you go through all that and it's still not working hten it may be time to make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out

  • From today both my iPad and iPhone will no longer charge

It's the weirdest thing. My Iphone & Ipad will no longer charge. They both worked/ charged fine yesterday.
I have tried various other chargers for my iPhone as we have other Apple equipment at our house & they all charge fine.
The lightning bolt is not appearing when charging & nor do either of them beep when charging. My iPad is not even 6mths old!
And isnt it weird that its both? Is that a hardware or iCloud problem
    Please can someone help.

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
    Do same for iPhone.

  • Ipod will no longer charge on docking station or car dock

My ipod will no longer charge while it is playing on my docking station or on the car dock. The only way I can charge now is with the genuine charger which means I can only listen for a couple of hours and then have to charge up again. Any ideas?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My 4thgen iTouch will no longer charge...

My iTouch will no longer charge, at first I thought it was my charging dock on the alarm clock but it will not charge and is not recognized on the computer either. My pc says "the hardware plugged in has malfunctioned and is not recognized". Can I do anything or is this dead? I have only had it since November.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks
    Kristie

You can try a couple of things before you throw in the towel and take/send your touch in for service.
First off, restart it - hold the Sleep/Wake button down until you see the red slider. Turn it off. To restart, hold down the Sleep/Wake button.
Reset - hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons down at the same time. After about 10 seconds you will see the Apple logo - let go of the buttons.
Also, make sure you are using the original USB cable when you plug your touch in to recharge.
If the Restart/Reset doesn't work and you are close to an Apple store, make an appointment with a Genius and take it in. If you need to send it in, see the instructions on this site on how to obtain warranty service.

  • Iphone 5 will no longer charge after 7.1.2 update

I updated my Iphone 5 to the latest software 7.1.2 a couple days ago and now it will no longer charge. I purchased a new cable thinking that was the case but it is still not taking a charge from my car, wall outlet, or computer.
Apple Support told me it is the port, a $279 fix without warrenty or Apple Care. I have done nothing to the phone to cause this to stop working.  Now my phone is dead with no forseen reason other than the update causing something to go wrong.
There must be some sort of issue as this is not the first post I've seen ragarding this.  I would appreciate not having to fork over a massive sum of money due to what I thought was a routine software update.
    Thanks

I find it extremely hard to believe that a software update has caused your port to bad. This sounds more like port just gave up at the same time as the update.

  • IPod no longer charges

After the unfortunate decision of updaing to 7.0 and the 1.2 firmware upgrade, my iPod was a brick for about two weeks. I stumbled upon a potential solution: download itunes 6 and the previous firmware update for my iPod, and all was going smoothly, until when I plugged in my iPod.
The battery was understandably low, as it had been a paperweight for two weeks, and didn't seem to be charging. It finally ran out of battery, and will no longer charge on my computer, my roomates computer, my Xbox360, nothing at all. However, Windows explorer recognizes it as a removable disk drive, but with nothing in it.
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem, and if anyone knows any potential fixes/solutions?

I've just this minute identified a similar problem.
Noticed my iPod hadn't been charging through USB to my work PC, and the iPod itself stuck on the dim "Do Not Disconnect" screen after I'd ejected the hardware on XP. However, once I reset it (center button and menu) it seems to have charged ok.

Since upgrading my iPhone 4s to ios8 my phone will no longer charge on my Sony Clock Radio ICF-C05ip.
The phone now comes up with the message "not compatibable with this device" and beeps.
It worked fine before the software upgrade so not a hardware problem.
    Any fixes available?

Try restoring the iPhone ,it may be corrupted iOS installation
