Nano not seeming to charge

Please help - my nano (which has just been replaced as the click wheel/screen locked up) doesn't seem to want to charge. It plugs happily in to both the AC adaptor and the USB wire, and says that it's charging, but even after over 24 hours, it still says "charging", and when it's unplugged, the battery icon is unhappy and red. I'm just rying to see how long the battery lasts when it's like this, but was wondering whether anyone else has had that problem?
Thanks

I've run diagnostics. Can't find device. I've tried resetting. The toggle has been turned on and off.

Cable works fine on my other iPod. Reset by pressing menu and center button together for 6-10 seconds. Left it to charge for many hours. Started acting up while running. Suddenly the music stopped playing but my Nike + was still working for the rest of my run. Took it straight it home and plugged it in to the wall to recharge since the battery was fairly low. Looked like it recharged ok but then screen went blank and now does it not show up on iTunes, does not seem to recharge by the wall charger (apple wall charger plugged into a surge protector in India). I have turned the hold switch off and on many times.
Sounds like a repair issue, which is not easy to do in India :(

  • Why does my nano not hold  a charge?

I have a 1st generation Nano and it will not hold a charge.  can anyone help me?

    Todd,
Considering that the Nano is a 1G Nano, meaning it's quite a few years old, it's likely that the battery is shot and in need of replacement.  You can choose to have Apple repair it, a third party company, or you can even choose to replace the battery yourself.
However, another thing to consider is whether or not the repair would be worth the cost giving the iPod's age.

  • Ipod Nano not receiving power charge or able to connect to Itunes?

It will not receive a charge or when I hold the sleep and volume decrease button (for reset), ITunes knows it is there but cannot connect with the server.  Any help is appreciated!

  • New Ipod Nano, does not seem to charge

    Hello,
I just bought IPOD NANO (4GB, gen2). The store guy told to drain the battery and then fully charge it. Well, I played some song and soon all the charge were gone.
I had a LOGiiX wall charger for my old IPOD (20GB), and I wanted to use it to charge it. Initially there were no responds. Then I changed the cable (I wanted to use my old cable but it did not work, so I used the new one that came with Nano) and it started to charge. It got fully charged.
Now after while of playing music I wanted to see what went wrong and wanted to charge again (it has been played for a while and so it should at least show me that its charging again, no?). But none of the cable worked with the wall charger (LOGiiX). The wall charger has a green light (LED) in it and it goes to red when its charges. But the green light stayed green and no charging in Nano.
I tried with a computer, and it shows the symbol of "Fully Charged". But its not fully charged, I played couple of songs. Is there something wrong? Should I take it back to the store and exchange?
    thanks guys
    Mashrur

I don't know why the store guy told you that, it wasn't necessary (there's such a lot of rubbish talked about the iPod battery).
See this : iPod battery doesn't charge.
As it's so new, if nothing is helping you should consider getting it exchanged.

  • Battery does not seem to charge

When I plug my iPod into my computer, it says that it is charging. Meanwhile, it really isn't. However, when I plug it into any other computer, it works perfectly fine. Is something on my computer preventing my iPod from charging?

I would say it is the laptop's problem. The USB por son some just do not provide enough curent to show the iPd charging when the screen is on.  Does it charge over time afer the iPod goes to sleep?

  • Ipod nano 7th generation on mac will not sync or charge

Nano worked fine for about 6 months, now it will not charge or sync whether on the Mac or in an outlet. System does not recognize it,  Reset it , rebooted system, disconnected other devices to avoid hardware conflict. Nothin. Seems like the pod itself is having problems. Plays and moves through the windows ok but running out of juice and can not connect to charge and sync. Any ideas?

Do one ore more of the following:
    > Restart You Computer
    > Uninstall & Reinstall iTunes
    > Reset your Device (won't delete anything)
    > Go to My Computer (Windows XP) OR Computer (Windows Vista & 7) and see if your computer reconizes your iPod.

  • I purchased IPad air in USA. DO I need an adaptor to charge it in UK as a regular Uk USB PLUG does not seem to work

I have just tried to charge my IPad which I purchased in USA. I plugged the USB into a UK USB mains plug but it does not seem to start my IPad charging. Do I need an adaptor as I assume the IPad is 110 volt and not 240?

The power adapter is rated 110-240 Volts, 50-60 Hz so that part is OK. What you may need is a physical wall plug adapter for the UK.

You are still under warranty if your iPod is "new."  Take full advantage of it by either calling iPod tech support, Apple Care if you have it or take it in to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

  • HT4060 Hi, i have been charging my ipad for 4 days now yet the power stays the same at 5%. They ipad shows the charging flash yet seems not to be charging. Can anyone please help?

Hi, i have been having problems charging my ipad3 for some time now (very slow). The power is now down to 5% and i have been charging it for 4 days now without any movement. The charging flash is showing yet does not seem to be charging. Please can anyone help.

Are you trying to charge it plugged into the wall with its supplied power brick? It's best charged that way.
You can try to swap out the power brick and cable to either rule those out or rule them in as the issue.
You can also try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.

  • HT4060 ipad does not seem to be charge.  has been plugged in for about 5 hours and low battery photo remains...cannot turn on or off... only low battery photo and apple symbol or blank page appear

ipad does not seem to be charging.  Has been plugged in for about 5 hours and low battery icon remains same...alternates with apple symbol or blank page.  cannot turn ipad on or off

The iPod Touch kept trying to reboot yesterday but would only show the Apple logo screen then shut off - it finally drained the battery overnight I am guessing. Connected to USB the battery charging icon flashes.
Took it back to Best Buy, but they wouldn't touch it or replace it since it's under warranty.
To any potential buyers - beware. My best advice is to look somewhere besides Apple. Every Mac user I know has had to return a Mac, laptop, etc. Really poor quality control, and the retailers agree (Geek Squad told me they have had the same experience with Apple products).

  • Iphone 4 set up query have a brand new iphone 4, I have plugged it in using the wall charger and it does not seem to be doing anything. Trying to turn it on it is not working either. Is there some vital part of set up I have missed or is this a dud??

I have just received a brand new iphone 4 in the mail. I have plugged it in using the apple wall charger for around 3 hours now and it does not seem to be doing anything. Tried to plug it into the computer, again no response. Trying to turn it on has not had any success either. Should I be concerned that the screen is blank and not showing a charging symbol?? Have I missed some vital step in set up??
    Thanks for your help!!!!

    Try resetting the phone:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.
Then, launch iTunes & connect your phone...what happens?
