Nano re-starts when "Music" is selected, but not when selecting "Podcast"

I have tried to reset, but no help. This issue seemed to start after updating both nano and itunes software. After I updated itunes most recently, it worked for a couple days, but now is back to this same pattern.
Please help!!

I have the exact same problem. I'm going to try updating iTunes and then restoring this weekend to see if that works. Wonder if anyone else has tried this?
This is my second Nano in as many months that has had "issues." God, it's a buggy little thing.

All your iTunes Store purchases are linked to the account. I do not think you can use two accounts with an iPod*, so you will have to choose one account or the other, and use only the things purchased under that account.
*I've never actually tried, but that's my understanding. You'd get a better answer by posting in the correct forum. Try the iPod forums rather than the Using Apple Support Communities forum.

I understand you are having issues with sound output on your iPhone 4S. For troubleshooting steps, the following article provides the best information:

1. Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
2. Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.
3. While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris or an object lodged in the headset jack:
4. Check the headset jack. If there is an object lodged in the headset jack that is not easily removed, have the iPhone serviced to remove object.
5. For Original iPhone: If there is light debris, such as lint, in the headset jack, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset jack and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times to remove the debris.
6. If you have installed a protective film on the display, either ensure that the receiver is not covered or remove the film completely.
7. Check the receiver mesh (which is on the top front of the device, above the display). If it appears blocked, use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to carefully and gently brush away any debris.
8. If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (choose Settings > General > Bluetooth).
9. Restart the iPhone.
10. If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.
11. If the issue persists, go to the Service Answer Center - iPhone for information on service.

Certain music videos will not play in iTunes. The music plays fine but not the video. No picture.

Regular playlists vs smart playlist does not make a difference. What I noticed is that some videos create this behavior and some not. I created 2 videos and 2 music playlists, one with 2 songs and 2 videos (that I encoded myself with Handbrake). Another list with 2 videos and 2 songs, videos encoded with Handbrake, but that I noticed they triggered the behavior. The first playlist played fine, with no problems. The second one, created the problem. When I look at the video, it is the same type of video (bit rate, audio channels, etc...) I don't see why it would do that.
Later I will test: playing those videos in question and then selecting songs to see if they play.

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

I have uninstalled and re-installed. No change with each user.
Crashes in safe mode as well (holding down shift)

i had the same issue as everyone here after upgrading to itunes 10.x. vista could see xp home share. ipod touch could see xp home share.
neither could see vista home share.
after several hours of authorizing de-authorizing, rebooting router etc, i knew it had to be a firewall thingy with vista as xp was working fine
i went to this article http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2553 and followed the instructions. itunes was already in my vista exception list. on a hunch i deleted the itunes exception and followed the steps to add it again and boom it worked!! i could now see my vista machine from my ipod touch immediately.
something must have screwed up the firewall exception on the upgrade to itunes 10.x
it worked for me, i hope this helps others

You can use one Apple ID for purchasing (App Store & iTunes Store) and shared with your child whereas your child uses a different Apple ID for Game Center, e-mail, FaceTime, iMessage. Even on iCloud there you'll get an extra 5GB free.

Keeping music on ipod but not on computer

I want to delete all my music off my computer to give it some more free space and just keep my music on my ipod. Do i manually manage my music on itunes so that when i plug in my ipod it won't sync with itunes and delete all my music? and if so how?

you can do 1 of a few things...
you can uninstall itunes alltogether, so when you plug in your ipod, it doesn't update, but it will charge.
or.
you can go to "ipod options"
and unselect "sync automatically"
or the best option would be to buy a seperate charger (for an outlet) and use that to charge it.
however, I don't recomend doing any of what you proposed.
If your ipod breaks, and it needs to be restored, you have no way of retrieving your music.
If you want to free up space, select all of your music (the actual files, not in iTunes)
and put them in one big folder, and add that folder to WinZip, or some other compression program. You now have more room, and a backup just in case.
Try burning it to a DVD, if you don't have too much music. (most dvds are 4.7 gigabytes)

TS1363 on connecting my ipod nano it is recognised by my computor but not in i.tunes?

For some reason when connecting my ipod nano to my computor, it is recognised by my computor, but not by itunes. I have followed the procedures
under the apple help , troubleshooting etc.which did not resolve the issue. Norton security have investigated the problem which included deleting the program
which made no difference.I can only assume the problem is a faulty ipod ir a problem with I tunes. Any ideas please.

Which procedures or Apple support documents have you already looked at? It would help us narrow down what other possible solutions/troubleshooting to offer.

I can import (RIP) my music CD's but not my DVD movies. Huh?

All I want is to be able to watch my DVD movies through iTunes/Apple TV on my HDTV. Is that so much to ask for? Apparently so. At least with iTunes (although from a quick Google there are "those we do not speak of" third-party apps that'll do the job). And yet oddly enough it's no problem importing my CD music collection. So what's the difference between the music industry and movie studios copy-right protection in this case and Apple's position?
I've wanted to import my DVD movies for a while but haven't gotten around to it. I thought it would be a simple process. Little did I know, and should have realized after an early try to play a DVD movie in iTunes and the fact that Apple TV would not allow it either (main reason I didn't purchase it when first released). But isn't that the point of it, to play movies? Before the advent of Apple TV and other movie download sites there were DVD's. Or have they forgotten this? It didn't make any sense except greed. That Apple and the movie studios want us to have to repurchase all of our DVD movie collections. But not music CD's?
It's my DVD movie. I paid for it. I own it. I should be able to copy it to my Mac for playback either from iTunes or Apple TV, more so since I no longer have a DVD player. That's the whole point of all this digital technology. All my music and movies,..etc in one place, transportable, streamable. CDs generally aren't copy protected. Commercial video DVDs are almost all copy protected.

Yes, you should. But the movie industry doesn't want you to do it and as such has gotten legislation written in the US and some other countries that prevent you from legally copying the DVD to any other medium. The answer the movie industry has come up with, though with only limited adoption thus far, is the "digital copy" included with some DVDs.
Bottom line, as has been said many times: US law makes it illegal to break the copy protection on any medium, be it CD, DVD or anything else.
Enough said. There's absolutely nothing Apple can do about this unless and until such time as the law is changed.

Want music on iPhone but not iPod.

I have more music in my iTunes library than I have room for. As a result, I had to uncheck some stuff. I'd like to put that stuff on my iPhone but not the iPod. Does anyone know how I can do this? Thanks for any help.

One way to do this is to use Smart Playlists. These playlists can be built using pretty much any criteria you want, but here's an example:
I use this Smart Playlist to keep the music on my iPhone rotating and fresh. When I plug in the iPhone to power every night is syncs with iTunes, updates the play counts then syncs the new music to the playlist.
So when you sync your iPhone sync just your Smart Playlist, not your entire library.

Purchased music in iTunes but not sync'd to iPhone music player

I can log into iTunes, view all my music including purchased music in iTunes, but the music is not sync'd to my iPhone. All other sync'd applications including MS Calendar, Comcast mail account, pictues, etc worked just fine. Why is the music sync feature not working with my new phone??

In order to sync music or videos to our iphone, it has to exist in your Library and not just under the itunes store. If the music does not show up in the library section, click on store at the top of itunes and check for purchases.
If it comes back with a message that all purchases are downloaded, you will need to log into your itunes store account and go to purchase history to report a problem with the particular items purchased.
To log into your itunes store account and view purchase history:
Open the iTunes store and click on your email address in the upper right corner.
Enter your password and choose view account in the window that pops up.
When your account opens you will see a button to view purchase history.
In purchase history you can report a problem for any item purchased.
