Nano rebooting while plugged into AUX. Input of car.
We just purchased a Nano 4GB and for some reason or other it will reboot itself but won't turn back on until you hit a button. This has been happening a lot while hooked up to the AUX. Input of an 06' Impala. It does it more often after you have skipped a song, when you dono't touch it it will work fine. I have also noticed it happening a few times while the headphones are plugged into it. I have done the 5 R's but it still seems to be happening. Also Last night while hooked up to the USB of my computer it would just reboot over and over. The apple would appear for a split second then it would go blank and do it again. Has anyone else had this problem. We have the latest update on it and have tried everything that the website suggest except sending it in, which will be our next thing unless someone else has a suggestion. Thanks!
Try repairing your iPod from Disk Utility. Go to Utilities>Disk Utility. After that in the side bar, select your iPod and click repair disk. If that button is blanked out, leave your iPod plugged in and boot-up from the Mac OS X install disk. Repair your iPod from there.

Media player into Aux input on car stereo
Hi,
Blackberry Pearl 8100
I would like to use the media player in my car. My car stereo has an Aux input and I use it with a removable DVD viewer, it works well. I have bought 2 x 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapters (the 2nd and 4th items here http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?menuno=13259) but neither of them work. Plugging the lead into the device doesn't divert the sound from the speakerphone or handset in the same way plugging in headphones does. If I wiggle the connectors about, it will come and go in one channel (left) of the stereo, but not in any consistent or useful way.
It has been suggested in one other thread ( http://www.blackberryforums.com.au/forums/blackberry-pearl-smartphone-discussion/1242-playing-music-... )that there could be an issue with the Aux input itself and the signal from the device is not high enough to drive the Aux but that isn't consistent with the sound levels that I get out of it when I wiggle the connectors.
I have checked the vehicle manufacturer manual for the audio unit and I can't find the impedance of the Aux imput or specification of it, but its a Sony 6CD audio unit.
Can anyone shed any light on my problem? I have tried X Player over my handsfree Parrot, but the music sounds like a phonecall (unsurprisingly :-)
Help, please..
Gareththe manual says "an equipment such as a portable audio player can be connected to the aux input terminal using a commercially available mini plug (3.5).
I'm almost positive that is what I bought. -
IPod only works while plugged into computer!
Help! My 2Gb iPod nano went through the washing machine, and after a few days of drying out, it only works while plugged into the computer. As soon as I take it out, the screen goes blank. I can access all my music, podcasts and photos while it's plugged in. I have tried the 5 Rs to no avail. Anybody have any ideas?
I also sent my nano through the wash and I found that if you get an ac adapter and plug it in for a few hours you will have battery life. This made me very happy however I have noticed that I can not turn the ipod off unless the hold button is on. Battery life is also not as long but long enough for me. Hope this helps

Classic froze while plugged into car stereo would rather not reset
classic froze while plugged into car stereo via usb would rather not rest .any ideas?
Why are you not wanting to reset it? You could try connecting it to iTunes for syncing and then properly ejecting it to see if that helps.

Anyone experience that the phone will not begin charging when plugged in, but must be rebooted while plugged in for phone to begin recharging?
Seems like battery is faulty. Make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

TS3274 iPad won't charge while plugged into computer
My iPad won't charge while plugged into computer
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. IPad is discharging while plugged into wall outlet
I cannot find any information on this issue, so, I am hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.
My iPad (retina) has begun discharging while plugged into a wall outlet using the provided power brick and USB chord. If I turn it off, it will charge up and then slowly discharge when in use--of course, that makes sense. However, what it is doing now is the following:
1. I plug it into the wall outlet using the USB chord and brick
2. I begin using the iPad under continuous power
3. It shows a power hookup (the lighting bolt to the right of the battery icon)
4. It drains the battery. In the time it has taken me to type this discussion, the battery indicator has dropped 1%
What gives? Is my iPad defective?
Any help is appreciated.Perform a "reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.
Then test to see if it solved the problem. -
Hello Everyone,
This is my first time using the forum. My macbook battery will not charge. I have tried unplugging and doing an SMC reset but it did not seem to change. I have yet to try another magsafe charger. The charger has a dim green light while plugged into the computer. What should my next steps be, besides trying a new charger as well as being the most cost effective?
Thanks
-TBHi ..
The battery may need replacing.
Check the battery maximum cycle count > Mac notebooks: Determining battery cycle count
And check the adapter > Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters -
Can I always operate my MacBook while plugged into an electrical outlet, does this hurt the battery?
Doing so does not hurt the battery. When remaining connected to a power source after the battery is fully charged, charging stops.
It is recommended to go through one complete charge cycle at least once a month. -

Mid 2010 15" MBP becomes unresponsive with black screen while plugged into external display?
I have a mid 2010 Macbook Pro, which is 15" and has the 2.66GHZ i7 processor configuration.
Had it for almost a year: No problems
Until about a month ago, laptop began becoming slow to boot, crashing. checked the harddisks, were corrupted and it needed a complete re-install of Snow Leopard. Did this and it seems to be ok ALTHOUGH:
I recently purchased a TEAC LCD TV which i have been using as an external display for my macbook, but have found that while the LCD TV is plugged in and i am using a dual-screen setup my computer and BOTH displays will quite often go black, and macbook will become completely unresponive
This sometimes happens apparantly randomly, but mostly happens when i have been using the external display for a while (30mins+) and use the "Display all Windows" feature of OSX.
I am connecting the macbook to the LCD TV with an Apple Mini-DisplayPort to DVD-D adaptor, which is then plugged into a DVD-D to HDMI adaptor
(As TV has no DVD-D input and i didnt (at the time) want to spend $50 on a Mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor) Could this multiple line of adaptors be causing a problem? surely it wouldnt cause the macbook to die...
Can anybody help me? i have looked all over the internet for anyone with a similar problem with no avail.UPDATE: This has happened to my macbook again while not plugged into my external monitor and with nothing else plugged in to it expect a USB mouse.
Here is a status report from when i rebooted about 15 minutes ago (Plugged into TEAC LDC, went to 'show all windows' crashhhh..) dont know if there are any clues in here:

IPod nano freezing when plugged into Belkin Tunecast
Everything has been working fine with my ipod nano 3rd generation until recently. I tried to plug it into the tunecast in my car and the ipod froze. I've tried resetting it and this still happens. A different ipod has been working fine with the tunecast which makes me think there is nothing wrong with the belkin but the ipod is fine even when plugged into the computer which makes me wonder which one is not working properly. Any ideas????
I am having this exact same issue with my wife's 3g, 8GB nano and her Monster iCarPlay. the Monster unit and the nano worked fine together for a week or two but now the nano locks up when connected to it. You disconnect the nano and it goes back to working fine. I have reset the nano while both connected and not connected to the Monster and have done a restore in iTunes and I am still having the same issue. I called support and they basically told me to buy a new car adapter. I don't believe this is a good solution since the Monster worked with the nano for a couple of weeks when we first got it and the Monster still works fine with both my wife's and my old ipod mini's. Any suggestions?

I have an HTC Droid Incredible with stock firmware 2.2 and it will no longer boot properly. The phone is not rooted or altered in any way.
When the power button is pressed, the phone shows the HTC Incredible splash screen, vibrates 5 times, and the screen goes black and the LED light flashes green over and over until the battery is pulled out.
Strangely enough, if the phone is plugged into a PC via USB or a charger during that splash screen for a few seconds (at least 5), it DOES boot up to the OS and seemingly works fine, but the SD card and internal storage is listed as "unavailable". I can also access the HBOOT menu by holding volume- while turning the phone on.
The phone then functions until the next time it needs to be rebooted, or if you attempt to plug it in via USB again (only when attached to a PC) and remove it, then it vibrates 5 times and goes black once again. If you repeat the battery pull and USB plug-in process it works again.
I've been able to successfully return it to the factory setting, reflash the stock ROM via SD from the HBOOT menu and from a RUU from my PC, but it doesn't fix the issue. The SD card has been reformatted properly and error checked and can be accessed from a card reader... just not while it is in the phone.
Pretty weird issue that's driving me crazy. This reply in that link is what I am suggesting should have been implemented in the Droid 4:
“Just adding my 2 cents. Found this to be odd with my new phone. Previous WM6.1 phone I would sync and charge overnight with my PC and let both 'sleep' when done. WM6 must be closing the port when the USB power drops so not to deplete the battery.
Just one more quirk with the new device.”
There is no reason for current leakage into a sleeping computer because of keeping data lines open. It should be easy enough to shut down the usb port when a voltage drop is detected in on the power pins. In any case, hopefully my posting will at least alleviate some anxiety for someone down the line. The procedure gets the phone back up and running in an expedient manner. Thanks for your research.
