Nano Replacement package - never received.  Who do I need to contact/ what do I need to do?

I received an Apple email saying my Nano Replacement package would be sent in two business days with a return address.  It's now been a week and I haven't received anything.  Who do I need to contact/ what do I need to do? Thanks

If you check the email that they sent you the first time, and click on the link that is provided to see online the status of your repair, you will see if they sent you the box or not.
As you can see in this picture in 22 novembre they sent me the empty box.

    I received no 'You were out slips', and the interface provides no delivery address nor signature of the recipient who signed for it, so this could have been delivered to anyone!
    I contacted UPS and they stated that i must contact the shipper to initiate a claim. I believe this to be the fault of UPS, but I need your help!

    UPDATE: I've got my replacement iPod! UPS courier delivered it to the wrong address!
    Since my last update; I was told by the Apple customer care advisor would launch an investigation with the shipper, and I should expect a phone call from them within the next few days. Instead of a phone call, I received an email to give them a call. I called them up, and they stated they'll reach to the courier to establish which property they left the item with. After returning home the next day, I find my iPod! Turns out the courier left it at the property across the road *fail*.

    It has been two weeks and I have still not recieved the packaging to send in my first generation ipod nano. Is there a reason for this? Is there some support like I should be calling? Or should I just keep waiting?

    Just keep waiting.  There has been a much higher demand than Apple originally planned for, so there has been a shortage of boxes to have your Nano's returned in.

  • Replace HD -where and who? Recommendations needed

    Well, since my earlier post, installed Tiger in hopes of fixing problem but looks like HD is dead. Got tiger installed, transferred files/apps/settings from backup HD and started updating software.
    Now HD making all sounds of scratching and squeaky noises and won't boot.
    So, anyone recommend third party to replace HD. Don't need anything fancy, 60 gb 5400 rpm or 7200 rpm will do. And estimated cost?

    You didn't say where you are located. If in the US, use this link: http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service/ Outside the US the country Apple sites have a similiar link. This will tell you where Apple and Apple authorized service providers are near you. Note if you go to an Apple store, they will keep your old drive, however, since you have it backed up already, and can still erase it, that shouldn't be a concern.
    You might as well get a slightly larger drive, as 5400rpm 60GB and 80GB, depending on brand, are about the same price ($50-$60). 7200rpm version would be around $20 more. If you have a choice, people seem satisfied with Seagate and Hitachi. Avoid Toshiba. Installation of course on top of HD cost. You may not have as many HD choices at an Apple store versus using an Apple authorized service provider.
    It may or may not be cheaper for you to buy the drive and take it to an authorized service provider for installation. Newegg at http://www.newegg.com and OWC at http://www.macsales.com are two good sources. You'd be looking for a 2.5" notebook drive, with a parallel ATA attachment, not serial ATA or SATA (drives are well marked in the descriptions). If you buy it yourself, regardless of who installs it, you'd get the manufacturer warranty, so, for example, Seagate has a 5 year warranty. If Apple sells and installs it, you get whatever Apple warranty provides.

    UPDATE. Just spoke with an AppleCare representative, Apple has been inundated with requests for these iPod Nano replacements.  They have fallen behind with sending out the return boxes in the 2 days they promised.  I was told to wait an additional 2 days.  She also said they were very surprised so many people still have their 1st generation nanos...
    We have been an Apple family for years and trust they will do the right thing, they have always surprised us with their professional customer service and expect this situation to be the same.

    I requested the replacement in mid November, but never received any box or packaging in which to send the product back to Apple. Yet when I check the repair status on the site, it says it was dispatched.
    What do I do?

    In your case, if you have not gotten a box, CALL APPLE, they would need to set up the service again. Have your s/n or old repair id ready.
    You would recieve your box in about 7-10 days after you set it up.

  • College Student Deal Never Received

    I registered my .edu e-mail for the college student deal about 6 hours ago, and after the website "accepted" my address, I never received further correspondence with the coupon codes that were promised in the initial e-mail. I also just spoke to someone in customer service who said my e-mail was accepted and encouraged me to check with the IT department of my school and my spam/promotions folders. My folders do not have anything, and I checked with the IT department and they have no block on such incoming e-mails.
    Could someone point me in the right direction to rectify this? My computer broke and I need to purchased a replacement in the next few days and I really want to take advantage of the $150 MacBooks for college students.

  • Can't get Nano replacement delivered

    I think Apple has a scam with the Nano replacement. My girlfriend and I both have 1st gen Nano's that we sent back under the replacement program. Fedex attempted to deliver yesterday but we weren't home to sign. Today I left for 30 minutes and they attempted again to deliver.  I decided to go online and request for them to hold it at the Fedex location for pickup.  Guess what? Apple won't allow that.  If has to be delivered to the home address.  Guess what else? I can't sign for her Nano replacement while she's out of town.  So now Fedex is going to attempt Saturday delivery at some time during the day while she is home from work.  The nice thing is that we have to sit home all day so we don't miss the Fedex driver on the final attempt.
    I asked Fedex what happens if we miss the third attemp and she said it gets returned to Apple.  I'm pretty sure there is no process for contacting Apple and having them resend it.  It looks like Apple has come up with a creative way to minimize the number of Nano's they have to replace.  They make is so difficult to receive the replacement that most people won't get theirs.  After three attempts, you're screwed.  Way to go Apple.

    If you two are shacking up live in the same household, she has to contact FedEx to give them permission for some one else to sign other than herself.  The person assigned to sign, must show a picture ID.  Maybe she has NOT given her permission.
    I'm pretty sure there is no process for contacting Apple and having them resend it.

    Received my mailing kit Dec 15 2011; sent in my 1st gen nano right after the holidays.  Never got a confirmation e-mail that it had been received, but checked my repair status and they say it was received Jan 14 2012.  Status is now "replacement pending."  Any news about why these replacements are so slow in coming?  I suspect there was an avalanche of requests - maybe they ran out of replacements?  Shouldn't they inform us?

    Yes, it is from the large number of requests they have been hit with.  It can take up to 6 weeks (from the date they received your returned Nano) for you to receive your replacement Nano. 
    So for now, I would wait just a little longer and keep an eye on the replacement status.
