Nano screen says its locked, but button is not
I have an ipod nano, first generation that has worked beautifully until recently. The screen tells me it is locked, but the hold key is in the "unlocked" position. I cannot turn the ipod off or do anything. Since it thinks it's locked, I cannot reset it (5r's do not work). I am looking for any suggestions, since the nearest repair center is some distance away.

You can try moving the switch back and forth rapidly but I doubt this will work.

A couple days ago my ipod drainee completley. I put it in the charger and it would not turb back on . After a day it turned on the charging sign with a lightning bolt under it, now its been sitting on twenty percent for two days and has not charged at ALL. My Ipod nano says its locked and screens on and it's staying frozen. I have tried pressing the menu and select button simultaneously and still not reset. What should I do?
Right click on the iPod Nano icon. "Eject" should pop up. At least that is the way it works on Macs.

how come when I sync my 4th gen. nano it says its syncing and when its done i disconnect it and go into music and it says no songs then i go into settings and it says i have 1.0GB free but theres no videos, no music, nothing on the iPod

my old version mac book air does not start up so i tried to reinstall lion but it says its locked. how do i unlock it with out being able to start up the system.
Could be. The "lock" isn't actually looking for a password.
WARNING: This will completely erase the ENTIRE hard drive.
What you would need to do is boot to recovery > disk utility > select the MAIN drive on the left side > partition > change partition layout from CURRENT to 1 PARTITION > ensure on the right side it says Format : Mac OSX Extended (Journaled) then push APPLY.
Then if it will allow us, close the windows until you see the 4 options popup again and select "Reinstall Mac OS X" select the Mac HD and you should be good to go! -

If you've downloaded it on the iPad then it should be in the Videos app (iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store) :
If you can't find it in there then have you got a film age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding it ? -
My apple tv is saying its syncing but actually doing nothing
i have the apple tv with nothing on top of it and it resting on four empty shot glasses to create airflow. it shows up in itunes. everytime, in itunes when i hit "sync" button it says it cant see the apple tv, check my firewall (its in the most permissive settings (allow all incoming, os x 10.5.8), my airport extreme has no password and guest access allowed) then in about 5 seconds it sees it and starts saying its syncing but actually doing nothing. any ideas on what to do? i ran 50foot of cat-e cable, no difference hooking it up that way.

It could be RF interference from their hearing aids or pacemakers.
Seriously, though, there could be RF interference from other sources, like other electronic equipment in your house or if there are any radio transmitters nearby. The only certain solution for ATV wifi problems is to use an Ethernet cable.
i can file transfer 22-26MBPS down and 3 up over the airport in other conditions (bandwidth speed meters). my airport extreme uses afp and FTP to transfer files blazingly fast, so fast it makes me blush. my apple tv. now. we do own a micro. it does get used every other day or so. could that be it? when not used on another floor it somehow interferes? my AV system a few feet away has an am and fm band capabilities on it although i do not think they have ever been used. on my airport extreme i have the "use interference robustness" box checked. i can sit next to my apple tv with my laptop an get great speeds.
so. i am still confused. could it just be the apple tv is telling me a new an improved one is coming out soon that i get to buy so i stop being an irritated jerk my wife hates using he tv with cuz my "apple tv toy" doesnt work right?

my ipod nano4th gen will not download the purchased songs in itunes v11. Just upgraded to mac 10.6.8-won't synch new songs since this upgrade. The ipod is seen in the itunes as the devise, and the nano screens says synching when plugged into the macmini usb port, but the itunes window does not say it is synching like it has before so whats the culprit? Techno virgin in distress!
PS - I added an iphone5 which is whay these upgrades happened so this synching to the ipod error is since the iphone began synching.I just learn in some post that the most common lapses in syncing is not checking if "sync music" in music section of the ipod is ticked. So double check if it is. Cheers!

I have just setup a new ipad and first app I downloaded was ibook. my ipad says its installed but I can't find it. any suggestions please?
For some reason this happens to some people. The one thing that works is to reboot your iPad. To reboot: Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad wil restart. Once it's back up, I'm betting you'll see iBooks.
