Nano wheel doesn't work

My nano's wheel has quit working. I can use it to reset, but it won't move thru menus or activate a file to play. I have restored it, reset it... all of the "r's". No luck.
The battery is fully charged; my computer recognizes my nano and will transfer files to it. There are no weird icons showing on the screen.
In all regards other than actually working, it's working. It is not stuck on hold that I can tell, and I have turned hold on and off a million times thinking that might help.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, Tulajane,
My 20GB IPod is doing the same thing. First the click wheel started acting really weird. It would scroll up when I would be turning it clockwise, it would freeze for a bit and then start working again, things like that. Now the click wheel has just stopped working altogether.
I´m in total panic. Is there any solution to this??

  • My 5th gen Nano wheel doesn't work.

    It won't advance my songs or get the menu. Sometimes I have to push REALLY hard on it and it will work, but its getting worse, what can I do?

    If none of the 5 R's are able to resolve the issue, it's likely a hardware issue, meaning you'll need to have the iPod serviced/replaced either by Apple or a third party service.

  • The mouse scroll wheel doesn't work with Xorg

    I recently installed Solaris 10 on my x86 box. One issue is that the mouse scroll wheel doesn't work with Xorg. Hmmm... Okay, it sometimes did work, and most of the time went on strike, and recovered at random. This pattern continued.
    My mouse is an ordinary PS/2 one with two buttons and a scroll wheel. I want to promise that there's absolutely nothing wrong with it per se. Here is some info:

    You remember correctly, Yvan.
    The 6.2.9 updater is available http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/appleworks629formac.htmlhere. Note that the updater is language specific. The one at the top of the list is for the International English version of AppleWorks. The US English version is the one in the box at the upper right, identified only by its file size.

    Does this wheel correspond to the mousewheel ?
    Anyhow, installing and executing:
    pacman -S volwheel
    volwheel &
    will perhaps achieve what you need. That's what I use with my Logitech G5 mouse.
    Try it, if it doesn't work you can always remove it.
    Another way is to find with "xev" what events your wheel generates and bind them to volume Up/Down,
    how to that will depend on what window manager you are using.

  • Touch Wheel Doesn't Work

    I don't know why, or if this has ever happened to anyone else, but I was using it one day, and then a part of the touch wheel just stopped working, and then all of it stopped working for a short time, not just a small portion is working again...any suggestions?

    I have the same problem on my 40gb Dock Connector Model. My Mac and iTunes do see it as does the updater. I would hope that resetting it would work but it does not seem to respond to any button quickly and will not register both the menu and play buttons at the same time. Further my scroll wheel is not working at all.
    This is what I get for buying a crappy model in the first place and getting a refurbished replacement? Apple really needs to step up its support. They seem to be producing more lemons these days then ever. Its a shame too b/c I like using their products when they actually work.
    So many people on this forum have posted similar problems in a very short amount of time. This seems like a big software or hard drive failure and Apple should fix it warranty or not.

  • My creative zen nano plus doesn't work anym

    Hi I've a problem with my mp3 player. It just doesn't work. After I made a powerpoint file on it (normaly that did not cast problems) it went on and in the same time it wents off. Like the battery is not loaded. I wanted to make an update with a file from the creative page, but in the same time it did not do anything. I can not turn it on. It does nothing.
    Can somebody help me? Had anyone the same experience?
    My problem is too, that its nearly two years old and the seller told me that i have no guaranty on it. Is this right? Can i just turn it into the carbage can?

    They must have been talking about a different player such as the Zen Micro which does recharge via the USB port.

  • I-Pod click wheel doesn't work

    Hi everyone,
    I have a 20GB I-Pod and the click wheel hasn't been working since Friday. I think it's a mechanical problem because it doesn't respond to touch or the 5 R's.
    The hold button works and it shows up in I-Tunes. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • Bug? Mouse wheel doesn't work on Firefox and Chrome when added an application skin

    I added a customized skin to make the background of Flex to transparent. The skin is created by the "new file wizard" and only changed the "backgroundRect" 's alpha to "0".
    It works with no problem in IE8.0.6001 and Opera11.6 but doesn't respond to any mouse wheel event in FireFox 11.0 and Google Chrome 17.0.963.79.
    Is it a BUG?
    The flash player's versions are: IE:11.1.102.55; FireFox:11.1.102.55; Chrome:11.1.102.63; Opera:11.1.102.55

    I opened a new Flex project and then tried again. I finally found that it's not a problem of flash but div rendering.
    It seems Firefox and Chorme don't pass mouse wheel event automatically if div layout is set to "absolute".
    Although this is not a Flex issue, any idea of passing that event to flash will be appriciated. I haven't find a way to do it so far :-(
    What I'm doing is editing the "index.tamplate.html" to test. I added a div to contain the div of "flashContent" and set it's style to:
        position: absolute;
        top: 150px; left: 150px;
        height: 250px; width: 250px;
        z-index: 10;
    Another div's z-index is set to 1 to test the overlay effect.
    The reason why I added a div to contain the original div of flash, is I cannot figure out a way to effectively edit the CSS of the "flashContent" div.
    Any help will be thankful!!
