Nano won't turn on after battery died

I left my Nomo for a week and tried to turn it on. The screen only showed the battery icon that means you must leave it to charge. After leaving it for hours. Now the icon has disapeared and the iPod will not turn on. It isn't my usb port because I've plugged other things in it and they worked.

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I have experienced this issue myself earlier. I use my iPod USB AC charger to recharge the nano and now it is working properly.
USB ports on PCs may not have sufficient power to "kickstart" a power-depleted iPod nano. I strongly recommend you get an iPod USB AC charger and use that to recharge the iPod.

  • IPad won't turn on after battery died

I recently got a second-hand iPad 2 from a family member.  It was working fine until the battery died, and after charging for a moment, it will start turning on, but when it gets to the home screen, it only shows for a second before immediately turning off again.  I'm using a 1A charger and was wondering if that was the issue, or if there is something wrong with my iPad.

Try using the original charger and cable.

  • Blackberry won't turn on after battery died

I left my charger at home when I was on a trip and my blackberry's battery was running low. I didn't turn it off and when my curve died, i assumed it was because the battery was too low and it died. When I got home I tried to charge it to the wall charger and.. nothing. Not even a blink on the LED. I left it for the whole night thinking it might take some time. The next morning i tried to switch it on, and nothing happened. I tried a battery pull and it also failed. I took out the memory card, sim card and battery, assembled them back after 30 mins and still nothing. Without the battery, when i put it the wall charger to the USB, there was a 10 second red light on the LED and the screen showed the no-battery symbol, so my charger is well and fine. I checked my phone and there was no water damages. Tried connecting it to my PC and nothing happened. Been using this curve for the past 5 months and this has never happened before. help!

Hey, this happen to me too.  I already use this BlackBerry for 2 days and that "thing" happened. I'm freaking out too but after that I did this to my BB:
    1. take out your battery
    2. take the wall charger and connect it to your phone
    3. after you connect it, then you can insert you battery
    4. click the turn on button (the red one) all the time.
    5. and then just wait for a couple minutes, your BB will turn on again and charging
But when charging, don't turn your phone off.
That's all I know, hope it can help you.

  • Phone Won't Turn on After battery died

Yesterday my phone completely died, causing my phone to shut off.  I have had it charging for about 8 hours and I get nothing.  The red light will come on for about 15 seconds, then off, then back on... Any suggestions?

Are you seeing on the screen a battery symbol with a slash (/) through it?
Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the USB cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage). If it doesn't reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I've had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every 3-4 hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.
If not, no dead battery symbol... If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

  • 7th gen iPod nano won't turn on after disconnect.

7th gen iPod nano won't turn on after disconnect. I loaded some new music, synced and ejected correctly. screen went black on unplug. Waited, did the button trick, didn't work. plugged it back in & it is recognized immediately. restored, resynced & ejected again. same thing-black screen w/ no response. Charged it overnight. ejected, screen then went to language setting. OK for English, eject & back to black on unplug. Switched ports for cable, tried eject thru PC...all resulting in dead nano after unplug. I really don't want to charge into the store & take it out on the poor kid who will catch the brunt of my frustration. anyone have a suggestion?

    Hello Marie,
I would be concerned too if my iPod nano was not powering on.  I found an article for the 6th generation iPod nano that has steps you can take for an issue like this (the only difference for the 7th generation iPod nano is the steps you will take for the reset. I included the steps to reset a 7th generation iPod nano below):
Will not turn on or screen remains dark
Connect iPod to power for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has enough charge to allow iPod to turn on.
If iPod does not turn on after ten minutes, try resetting the device while it is still connected to power. Reset the iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button for at least eight seconds or until you see the Apple logo appear.
If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
If the screen remains dark and will not turn on, then your iPod may need service.
You can find the full article here:
iPod nano (6th generation): Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3474
All the steps apply to the 7th generation except the steps for the reset.  To reset a 7th generation iPod nano, use these steps:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for six seconds, or until the screen goes dark. The Apple logo appears after a few seconds, and then the Home screen. You may need to repeat this step.
I got these steps from this tutorial, which may also help with your iPod not appearing in iTunes:

Help! My iPhone 5 wont turn on after battery died. iPhone is not reponding to charger or anything I have tried... Hard reset is not in option beacuse iPhone is turned off.

Your only chance is letting it charge for about 10min, then connecting it in recovery mode, explained here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If it does not charge at all, you'll have to get it serviced by Apple.

  • Help! Ipod nano won't turn on after disconnecting!

Okay I've had my Ipod nano for like 3 weeks. I've used it once. It worked fine when I first got it and after my battery ran out I haven't used it for about a week. When I got it back I hooked it up to my computer and updated the stuff on it as well as let it charge. After is says to safely disconnect, I disconnect it but it automatically turns off and won't turn back on. I've tried resetting it and nothing works. I thought the battery was dead but I've left it plugged in (not only USB on my computer but also tried an outlet) and it never completely charged. I've even left it plugged in overnight (well over the 4 hours it's supposed to charge). I have no idea what to do (It also took like at least a full day to completely charge the first time I've had it)

Okay my iPod wouldn't turn on . (Guess I will be throwing out the box to ship my ipod for warranty replacement)
at like 11pm dec 1 2008, the ipod was dead, pressing the power button did nothing.
I thought it was a goner... I even ordered a warranty replacement..
ipod wouldnt turn on . left it for 24 hours. when I got home from school the next day
it tried to sync but my playlist did not exist..it even showed the folder in windows
After trying various USB ports and seeing an Apple Icon, and "connect to power low battery"
I even requested a warranty replacement... and apparently you throw out the box they send to cancel. I wish I could be courteous and let them know
    So in short
    PROBLEM;
==IPOD Won't Power on when you press the power button==
(FIRST OF ALL , I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO NOT TRY TO OPEN THE IPOD UP,
you will probably scratch or damage the beautiful iPod .. when it will be perfectly fine 24 hours later...)
    Try:
RESET, and plug in to itunes and restore..
    SOLUTION:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/consumerelectronics/ipodfaq/ipod-troubleshooting-wont-turn-on-appear-hung-sad.html
    Official Apple Documentation:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1383?viewlocale=en_US
I guess my actual story will make you believe that THIS SOLUTION actually works.
    "Let the iPod battery drain
In rare cases, iPod might get into a state in which it needs to be drained completely before it can be reset. If iPod didn't turn on after you reset it, follow these steps:
    1. Disconnect iPod from all power sources and leave it disconnected for about 24 hours.
    2. Reconnect iPod to the Apple iPod Power Adapter or computer and reset it.
I even tried the iPod on 2 computers and it was sort of detecting the serial # in Windows
    but mostly freezing up windows.
    4. " Let iPod's battery drain"
Was the solution for my iPod 3rd generation.
So now that the problem was fixed, I guess iPod is so terrible after all
Just don't drop your iPod get it a nice case
it took from 9pm December 2,2008 to about Dcember 2,2008 6:45pm
roughly 20 hours.. so this morning when I left I pressed the button and it wouldn't turn on
I thought maybe the battery was knocked loose but the battery was just so low or something
To prevent this problem I guess whenever you ipod is low battery, charge it before it gets dangerously low
As sad as it is to wait like 24 hours without your iPod just to pray that the problem is the battery or something and then it will power on..
When it actually does power on you would see the apple Icon
== When it was all said and done==
I didn't really need to use "restore" option, i think itunes resynced what it needed.
And thanks to this I upgraded to Itunes 8 .. which I was too lazy to do before
    ==STILL DOESNT WORK?==
If you bought it less than a year ago... Warranty..
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do
Enter your Serial# and country and it will be located at the back of your iPod under where it says 8GB or whatever (at least for iPod Nano 3rd generation)
I always like posting solutions, so that someone like me can benefit from it.
It is my understanding that if you do send in your iPod they don't care about the USB cord or headphones that came with it, so you just ship the iPod itself

  • Nokia 6350 wont turn on after battery dying.

My Nokia 6350 will not turn back on after the battery died.  I then proceeded to plug the charger into the phone and turn the phone back on; the screen went white.  I took the battery out and put it back in then the phone wouldn't even turn on at all after that.
I took the battery out for 15 minutes then put it back in and still nothing happened when I tried to turn it back on.
Should I replace my battery? or is there another option that does require me to spend money?

Is the battery charging? You could also try it with another battery if you have access to another phone which uses the same battery.
Since you've tried the all the removing battery stuff, you could also try removing the sim and memory card. Other than that there isn't a lot else you can try with the 6350. The next step would be the Nokia Care Point.

  • Blackberry Q10 won't turn on after battery switch

I am a loyal blackberry user, but this will without a doubt be the last phone I EVER purchase from them.  I have been let down so many times in one device.
Despite always having my phone kept in an Otterbox case, with all ports covered and NO damage being done to the phone, THE CHARGER PORT BREAKS.  Now a weight and a wedge are required to prop the phone and charger at the correct angle to make contact.  Absolutely no reason for this to have happened.
As the connection became worse,  I resorted to purchasing an external battery changer and extra battery for my Q10.
Today, upon battery #1 going dead, I tried to switch to the fully charged backup battery.
    It won't turn on.
No signs of life, no flashing LED.
All the information I've found on getting this device to restart involve a reliable charging port, which this phone does not have.
I am beyond dissapointed in the lack of worsksmanship put into these phones.  My device is just over a year old and has been treated properly.  It has become quite clear to me that these are being made of a disposable quality, to be upgraded when the newest model comes out.  Unacceptable.

  • Iphone 5 won't turn on after batter died.

My Iphone 5 battery died six hours ago while I was at school. Once I got home I put it on the charger which was for four hours now. It still hasn't turned on yet, what do I do?

Do you see any low battery indicator flash in the middle of the screen when you try to power it on? Also, does the cable charge other devices fine?

  • IPhone not charging and screen not turning on after battery died

The battery on my iPhone just died about 2 hours ago. I noticed the battery getting kind of hot. Normally when this happens, I let it run to 0% then recharge it to 100%.
After the phone died, I plugged it in (wall charger) and nothing came on the screen. I then plugged it into the computer and nothing came on the screen at all. I left it plugged in for about 20 minutes and still nothing on the screen but the back of the phone was getting really hot. I held the phone up to my ear and heard a slight buzzing noise from the earpiece (?) and when i took the cable out the noise stopped. The overheating kind of freaked me out but I looked extensively online and everything mentioned flipping the vibrate switch and holding the home and power buttons. I then tried restarting my phone while the phone is plugged in and again nothing showed up on the screen.
I tried all of this and nothing happened. As of now I've taken the phone off of the charger as I'm unsure what my next move is going to be. I won't be able to take it to an Apple Store until April so I'm pretty much screwed.
Anyone have anything else I can try?

I was having battery troubles outlined in this topic:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2324513&start=135&tstart=15
I tried some of the easy fixes but none had worked so far. Since the last time my battery drained to 0% and turned off (yesterday), my phone has not turned on. I have plugged it into a working wall socket, and plugged it into my computer, and neither has worked. Please note it's been plugged in for more than 24 hours. I have tried rebooting it but nothing seems to work. I have checked the apple support topics and can't find any solution to this problem that has worked.
Also please note that my phone is not getting hot to the touch, nor is it making a "humming" noise.
    Thanks.

  • Phone won't turn on after battery drain...

Here's my situation: My iPhone 3G S ran out of battery over night. So this morning I got to work at 9 and plugged it in. It's been over an hour now and it's still not turning on. I've tried doing a reset, getting it into recovery mode, it's just not responding. Any suggestions?

When its plugged in, if you give the screen a good hard look, you should be able to see a very dark battery icon and a charging symbol - but they are not lit up at all.
If you don't see them, then the charging possibly isn't working - are you USB charging or using the main adapter ?

  • HT1222 iPhone 5s won't turn on after this update. Battery was at 98%, tried holding sleep & home button while plugged in, no good. Any ideas?

iPhone 5s won't turn on after this update. Battery was at 98%, tried holding sleep & home button while plugged in, no good. Any ideas?

P.S. I just noticed; when I hold the power and home button at the same time while it's plugged in as if I was going to restart it, my computer acts as if I'd plugged it in again (it makes the USB notification sound, itunes opens up again, I get the same "your iphone is in recovery mode" message, etc.), but that's the only response I've been able to get from pressing anything on the iphone. thanks again.

  • Nano (4th gen) won't turn on after reseting and I need itunes support

A couple of weeks ago, my family computer crashed when we were trying to install a sercurity program. The computer company sent us a disk to bring the computer back to its original state. (This was supposed to make the computer be like it just came from the factory when we first got it) The disks didn't work and we sent it to a local computer repair center where they fix stuff like this.
So anyways, now that the computer is back to when we first got it, I'm afraid that if I downlaod itunes, sign into my account, and plug my ipod into the computer that all my songs and PURCHASED songs will disappear and I will be out more than $200.
Now it's Oct. 30th and my ipod will not come out of sleep for anything. I've tried all of the things they offer on Apple's support webpage. I plugged it into my wall adapter and it's making a funny buzzing noise.
Please help me with these 2 issues I'm having.
    Thanks so much.

My 4th Gen iPod Nano won't turn on once it is off the USB cable. If it is connected to the iMac (iTunes 10.1 (54)) it works perfectly well (synchronizes, plays music). Have tried to reset it (holding the Menu and Center buttons) and to reset it to its original settings (current SW version is 1.0.4) and it still wont work.
    Any suggestions?
