  • My nano wont come up on iTunes or my computer

I just got my nano yesterday and i plug it into my computer and it shows up and downloads the software that came on the CD that came with it. However now it wont show up anywhere. I have looked through the Forums and everyone seems to be saying "oh use the HP USB FORMAT thingamajigee" and "use FAT32 on it". I downloaded this thing and my ipod showed up on it but I have no idea what FAT32 is and when I tried to format it said that the device has no media on it (which it doesnt cause I just got it yesterday and havent gotten it to show up on iTunes yet). But if anyone has a solution for my problem I would love to hear it

    Answer (for me):
My iPod would show up nowhere, like you, so i tried everything in the forums and on the support website (even the HP thing, which didnt work for me...)
So yesterday I plugged it into my sister's laptop, who also has an ipod nano and itunes, and it showed up. I did a restore with one of her old updaters and now it works fine on my computer!
    Hope this helps....

  • My fifth generation ipod nano wont show up on itunes... please help!

I've had my fifth generation ipod nano for about five months now. Nothing has gone wrong with it. the ipod would show up on itunes with no problem. But today i plugged it in to my computer, itunes popped up as usual, but then another pop up came:an ipod has been detected but could not be itentified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the ipod, then try again.
I unplugged and plugged my ipod several times, but nothing was fixed. I even changed the cable and did the same, but still, nothing happened. I tried resetting my ipod and then plugging it in, but nothing was fixed. then i put the ipod on disk mode and THEN tried to see if it would show up, but it still wasnt fixed.
I really need my ipod to show up on itunes!can anyone help?

  • My 4gb nano wont show up on itunes when i plug it in

I have a Toshiba lab top, it has worked before. And today when i tried to charge it, it took 6 hours to charge, and the computer was not hibernating ect...it still will not fully charge. I have plugged it into all of the 4 USB connections. But still when I plug it in and I pull up iTunes myself the devices column doesn't show up, which means I can't add new music pictures etc... I have tried all of the 5 r's. Can anyone help me????????

I could not get my iPod nano (3rd gen) to show up as a device in iTunes when I used my USB 2.0 port. My computer recognizes the hardware as an iPod but says the hardware may not have been installed properly and may not work. However, my 2nd gen iPod nano works just fine when connected to this very same 2.0 port using the same cable. My 3rd generation iPod nano will work and show up in iTunes if I connect it to the slower USB 1.1 port on the same computer. The 2nd gen iPod will work fine from either USB port. I suspect the USB 2.0 driver may need to be updated. But I have seen nothing that this is known problem.

  • Nano not showing up in iTunes or My Computer

I had to reformat my computer hard drive and reload my computer with Windows Vista Ultimate. I lost all of my music on my computer but they still are on my Nano. I tried to reload the music from my Nano to my computer but that didn't work and now I can't see my Nano on iTunes or on my computer. I have reset the Nano several times and uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled the latest version of iTunes, but nothing has helped. Can someone give me steps to correct this? I don't want to lose all of my music on my Nano............

Try redownloading itunes, and ( i had this problem with my aunts ipod nano)and plug your ipod in, something should pop up saying whether you want to transfer your purchases or something else...pick transfre purchase. Then, if your computer isnt authorized, another screen should pop up and it should say your computer isnt authorized, go to Store and Authorize (in main menu at the top of itunes). It should work then but if it doesnt im sorry and good luck with your iPod.
p.s. I have a ipod video so mine might work a little differently when it comes to how itunes works, and recovering your songs ( also, check your computers' hard drive to check and see if some of your songs were back up on the back up drive..probably not but it doesnt help to check) but if my information is inaccurate im very sorry
