NANO wont show up/connect with Itunes when plugged in!!!

I am trying to change some of my music on my nano and when I go to plug it in... it doesn't show up in Itunes. I recently purchased the iphone and when I plug that into the computer I "CAN" see it... and do updates, etc. Ever since I have been using my iphone with itunes, I am not able to change anything or "see" my nano on the itunes main page. Please help!

I'm having exactly the same problem. And iTunes keeps jumping into the foreground/ launching when it's docked. I want the data from my last and fastest workout in the Nike+ from it-- butI can't even restore the iPod since iTunes won't read it (despite Finder mounting it).

    If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.

  • Nano wont charge or connect with USB but will with firewire.

    My nano has been acting CRAZY. When I hook it up to the firewire charger it charges, but of course it wont sync. It holds the charge fine. If I hook it up with the normal charger it does NOTHING. It wont charge or connect to iTunes. What did I do? Also, I use the same cable to do my iPhone. It worked great for both. Then it quit for the nano.

    You probably didn't have iTunes open (if that's where it syncs from).
    If that' right, then when you want to charge or sync from your iPod, make sure iTunes is open.
    This should help, but if you already did this, I'm sorry. I have no advice.

    Tigerbird, connect the iphone and start itunes. Under "devices" in the left column click on iPhone. Click the "summary" tab on the top. Under "options" is "automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" checked?
    iPhoto opens because your iPhone is a camera and you probably have a picture on the camera roll. If you want to stop iPhoto from opening you can disable it with the "image capture" application located in your apps folder. Start image capture with the iPhone connected and click on iPhone listed under "devices" on the left.
    On the bottom left of the screen, you can select which application opens for image handling or you can select "No Application". This will prevent iPhoto from starting when the iPhone is connected.

    This is a user to user help forum. What happens when you plug the phone to iTunes? Your phone is in recovery mode and you MUST plug it in to iTunes. Your data is gone, unless you have a backup.
