Napster To

I recently subscribed for the free trial of Napster-to-Go, as my Creative Zen Touch was not on the list of incompatible players. However, when I tried to transfer the music files on to my Zen Touch, it said it was not a compatible player.
Does anyone know when the Zen Touch might become compatible with Napster To Go, like the Zen Micro?

I've used napster to go recently and found that it stinkns. I had to install a firmware package to allow it to interact, which means that my Zen Micro doesn't get recognised by it's media organizer which I got from creative.
The billing is complicated, there are big holes in the number of bands and it seems to have ruined my Zen Micro.
But that's just my experience,
P.S If anyone has any ideas on how to get my player recognised again, I'd be immesurably grateful.
Thanks

  • Creative Zen Vision M with Napster to

I am becoming increasingly frustrated with my ZVM. I'm now on my 2nd device, and I cannot for the life of me get it to work with Napster to go. I have tried everything on 2 different PC's etc etc. Is there some really stupid thing I'm doing or not doing as the case maybe in order for this to work. I have read various forums and haven't come across anyone with the same problem. Seeing as I have had the same problem with 2 completely different devices, I must be doing something wrong.
    The problem:-
Whenever I dump tracks in the 'to go' box, it starts downloading, gets halfway through and says the device isn't connected.
Someone please help as I am on the brink of buying an ipod video 'desperation'.

Does the player work in other applications, with other audio files (for instance ones you have ripped from CD)? Or do you get the same error there.
Make sure you get the updates relating to subscription services too:

  • I have an ipod touch which i am trying to authorize to napster by rhapsody but it cannot find a device!  any help. it does not show in my computer but it works fine in itunes.

any help on this would be appreciated.
we think that is is because the system (xp) is not seeing the ipod in the my computer therefore the napster software has nothing to lach on to.!

Does it say that it works with iOS devices (iPhone, iPod touch or iPhone)? iOS devices have a different format/file system than other iPods.

  • Transfer errors when using Napster to Go servi

Recently napster have updated their software and now all of a sudden i am getting transfer errors when i try putting track on my creative zen micro photo 8gb. Has anybody else been experiencing this?
I wondered whether its a napster issue or whether by some strange conincidence my player has become faulty. any thoughts?
    Thanks

I've seen this problem before, but its not a common one.
But just making sure, have you downloaded the 2 hotfixes listed <a href='http://us.creative.com/support/kb/article.asp?l=2&sid=793' target=_blank>here[/url]?. Try that then resync all your songs. Formatting the player is the best step to take, however if you dont have the time then you can just delete the subscription ones and transfer them again once you apply these hotfixes, but formatting would be the best way to go.
It could be a licensing thing that is giving the harddri've/cpu trouble with reading it. Or some other unknown issue. What player does your friend have?Message Edited by DM on --2005 0:40 AM

  • Unable to download a purchased MP3 from Napster with Firefox 3.6.13 but it worked with IE 8.0, presumably due to a security setting.

I purchased my first MP3 from Napster but I couldn't get the song to download successfully. I think I narrowed the problem down to Firefox (V3.6.13) not allowing the download to complete. After several attempts and failures, as a test, I tried the same download sequence with IE 8.0 and got the download to complete. I couldn't find a setting in the Firefox TOOLS -> OPTIONS menu to modify the security to allow this download to happen. Am I missing a setting option somewhere?

How do I get songs I have on Napster to download to my iPod Touch?

  • Switching from Napster to iTunes

I have purchased many songs using Napster. Now, I got my first iPod nano, and want to transfer all my purchased songs to iTunes, but it says the files are protected. What can I do?

Ok that's good but that would been i would have to pay a lot of money to put the songs on a CD and I have a lot of songs. I was able to transfer some songs that were in my Windows Media Player into iTunes but those weren't even close to half my songs. Those had to be converted. So does that mean there is no way to just transfer it?

  • I have downloads from Napster, but can't get them on my ipod

The ipod loaded the iTunes songs, but I have lots of songs from Napster that won't go on it...HELP! What do I do?

Napster music files won't play on the iPod, neither will iTunes convert them to a format that will because they are protected wma files which neither the iPod nor iTunes can play.
What you would need to do is to burn these songs to an audio cd and then import it into iTunes and transfer the songs to the iPod.
And that's always assuming Napster lets you burn the songs to a cd. Some music download services don't allow this unless you pay extra.

  • Zen Touch doesn't work with Napst

I just got a Zen Touch, thinking that it works with Napster files. AM I mistaken? When I try to transfer Napster files I get a "license missing" error. (I am a current Napster subscriber).
    Help!

The pay downloads should work. The Zen Touch will have to support Napster To-Go (and you'll have to pay more per month) to transfer the things you download as a part of a premium subscription.
But again, the $.99 downloads should transfer.

  • Zen Touch 40GB - Napster to Go Transfer Probl

Running Windows XP (Service pack 2)
    Running Version 2..0
I am having problems transferring Napster to Go music to my Touch.
I have tried doing it on two different computers. At first I tried just transferring in the Napster program. I would get some of it transferred and then I would get a transfer error message asking me to re-attach my player. When I dettached it and re-attached it I wouldn't be able transfer anymore music.
I then tried using Creative Media Source. I imported all of my Napster to Go tracks and organized them into playlists. I tried clicking and dragging the tracks and I would get error messages regarding Licenses on A LOT of the tracks. I tried synching and same problem. Also, synching takes a long time - like a day and a half for 3000 tracks.
Any ideas? I do not know very much about this subject, just trial and error, so any "dumbed down" advice would be great. I have had thing thing for six months and am not enjoying it much!
    THANKS!

My account status does indeed state "Acti've Napster To Go" and was just billed $4.95 on 2/4. I initially upgraded the account to?NTG on?/4?and was able to successfully transfer for a few weeks.

  • Help! X-Fi 16gb and Napster-to-Go Problem

    Help! X-Fi 6gb and Napster-to-Go Problem5 ?Help please!
Until yesterday I have been happily using my Creative Zen X-Fi 6GB along with my Napster to Go subscription.
I sync my player using Windows Media Player - I use Windows Vista.
Following syncronizing my player last night, I get the following error message when I try to play Napster tracks: "No license to play. Sync license from PC."
When I connect to Napster it does say 'Napster to go device connected' - I have also tried syncronizing a player directly from Napster to my X-Fi and it works.
Can anybody else me? Is it to do with the latest X-Fi firmware - though I am pretty sure that I have syncronized since updating the firmware.
I would be very very grateful for any advice!!
    Jonathan
P.S. My firmware version is .04.08

    Hi,
Judging by this post it looks like X-Fi is compatible with Napster to go.
Hope you got your issue resolved.

  • Plaback error-Zen Microphoto using Napster To

Microphoto with firmware version .3.0. Also have most recent driver on PC. Recei've "Playback Error" when playing tracks on player. Only "temp" tracks from Napster To Go....no problem playing purchased tracks. Spent lots of time with Napster support, assuming it was Napster issue (may still be). Napster and I looked at licensing and clock sync?issues and can't seem to remedy problem. Some tracks, when "properties" opened in Media Player, show nothing in license tab, others have proper license designation. Doesn't seem to make a difference. Have attempted to clean database and load new tracks. Nothing has worked.
Leaving for vacation on Saturday and sure would like my tunes. Any thoughts?KAT

Napster finally able to fix. Apparently a late upgrade of Media Player 0 has some type of incompatability with firmware on Creative Microphoto, causing To Go tracks to play for a few seconds then stop (resulting in "Playback Error"). Napster support had documentation from Creative, so dissappointed that someone from Creative couldn't help here. Unfortunately, fix ended up being a reformat of the hard dri've, causing me to rebuild my song database. Better than purchasing a new player.

  • Transfering Music from Napster to Go to my Zen 3

I have recently been having problems transfering music from Napster to my Zen. I download the music, transfer it to my Zen (Vision : M 30GB), and it shows up in my organizer on my computer and my Zen device on my COMPUTER, as in the folders on the computer when I hook it up to the computer, but then I click on the folders of the recently downloaded artists and none of the actual music I downloaded are in the folders or on my Zen when I go portable. I have tried clearing up the C Disk thing from help and have tried clearing the playlist from the folders, but nothing works. I downloaded about 250 songs before this started happening and now I don't know what to do. Any help is appreciated.

I had problems for the first month of my Napster membership (while I was still in the trial period). I nearly went elsewhere, but stayed with it. As soon as the trial period was over, everything worked perfectly. One suggestion is to use the same software for everything. Whether you use Creative media source, Napster's own software or media explorer or any of the others, stick with that one only. Do not give up and go to itunes. What a waste of money!?If you need to reload firmware or try another software, it's worth it.
I also had some issues getting help. Napster said the problem was with Creative and Creative said the problem was with Napster. Don't give up. Can you get ripped songs in?

  • Transfering music from Napster To Go to Creative Zen Sleek Photo probl

    Hello
I have a Creative Zen Sleek Photo with Napster To Go. I have Windows XP home edition. I can rip a CD to the hard dri've
of the computer and transfer music to the mp3 player, but I am receiving a message when trying to transfer music files
from Napster To Go. The message is the mp3 player will need an update to the firmware to work with Napster To Go.
The Zen Sleek Photo has the latest firmware. I had been able to transfer music from Napster To Go until recently.
Napster support referred me to Creative support but the Sleek Photo is past the warranty. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • E71 & Napster to go

    Hi,
I have an E71 which when I first got it I was amazed to find would work with Napster to go if I used the Media transfer setting on the phone when connecting via USB (Select USB mode It worked both with my Vista Laptop  and my XP desktop. Which was fantastic as it meant I didn't need to take my mp3 player around with me any more. :-)
However just recently it won't connect via Media Transfer on both, so Napster  will no longer connect. HELP. Have one of the latest updates changed things or what?
    Many thanks.

thanks for the insight, also my friend pointed out another important point point which is once i stop using n2g, the files become null and void. so in essence i'd have to stay with n2g forever to keep the music working that I would dl from it.
Thanks for the input on the drivers and the likes
