Narrowing down by keyword

The apple help site says this To find photos that contain a specific keyword:
To display photos that contain a specific keyword, click the keyword in the Keywords list. You can select more than one keyword to narrow your search.
To hide photos that contain a specific keyword, click the keyword in the Keywords list while pressing the Option key. You can select more than one keyword to narrow your search.
This does not work for me in Iphoto 5. When I select more than one keyword, it just shows every photo that has any of the keywords selected. I want it to only turn up the photos that have all of the selected keywords.
How do I do this?

Any suggestions would be appreciated
You could use the specified find command (Cmd+F or menu Edit/find) and from
this menu choose keywords and add the next by using the plus sign for the
combined search and make a choice for the criteria method in the bottom
section from this menu.
An other option is to use the filter panel when you have found the files
containing one of those words you can narrow it down by selecting all the 3
mentioned criteria, in this way Bridge content window only shows the ones
that meet all three filter criteria

  • Narrow down search to a specific page?

    Hello,
How can I narrow down a search to a specific page in a PDF document?
For instance, I want to search only page 5.
    How can I do this?
Is there any documentation that specifically tells you how to narrow down a search to a page number?
    Thanks
    Linda

Actually, I need to find a particular page before I do a search on it.
My problem is that I need to search a specific book mark in a large document, however, the particular name of the bookmark appears three times and I want to search all three of these bookmarks.
Currently I am using the following to narrow my search to a specific bookmark:
    if (global.mainDoc.bookmarkRoot.children[i].name.indexOf("XYZ")!=-1) {
    // Do something
Unfortunately there are three bookmarks with the same name of XYZ and my search only goes to the last bookmark named XYZ.
I need to know how I can also search the other two bookmarks named XYZ.
The three same named bookmarks appear one right after the other.  Since I am able to search the last of the same named bookmarks, I would like to then go to the previous page and search that page.  Similarly I would like to go to the previous page before that one and search it as well.
I could obtain the number of the last bookmark named XYZ, subtract one from that page to obtain the previous page, and if there is a way to narrow a search to a page number I could search that page ,with the bookmark named XYZ, as well.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Linda

  • System has had two panic attacks -trying to narrow down were the issue is , if its software or hardware.

Had two panic attacks the first on 12/01/2014, the other 12/02/2014.
Both times have happened when  starting up from shutdown.
    The message is:
When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem."
System - 2010 MacBook  Pro ,2.66 GHz Intel Core I7
    8 GB memory 1067 MHz DDr3 OWC

On 11/29/2014 installed a Logitech K750 wireless keyboard, along with their software. Could not get  F3 key to work. On 11/30/2014 uninstalled everything.
The next day the panic attacks started.
In the "Problem Details and System Configuration" report do not see the term “machine check” so I do not think its hardware issue, but do not know if it can be ruled out.
Trying to narrow down were the issue is , if its software or hardware.

    Hello Esuared
Looked at the the reports and could not  decipher them. will attach both of them.  Thanks for your rely .

  • Narrow down start up issue need experienced/knowledgeble Mac Expert

    Hi,
I have spoken with two level 2 mac specialists and both have concluded that I am having a 3rd party software issue with my Mac Pro 3.0. The issue is it takes 5 minutes for my Mac to boot up from start up/restart. Here is my question; in OS9 to narrow down an issue I could simply drag an Extension on to the desktop and restart to see if the issue continued. Since this issue that I am having is a 3rd party conflict in start up is there a way to remove or 'disable' 3rd party software so basically the system thinks it's not there so I can narrow this issue down to who is the problem child? I really don't want to trash all my 3rd party software to figure this out.
I have recently done a Archive and Install from the install CD 10.5 and the start up was fine. Then when I update to 10.5.4 or 10.5.5 the long start up issue is back. So I am concluding that something is not 10.5+ compatible.
Look forward to someone knowing the answer to my question.
    Thanks.

Hi Francine thanks for your input. If I'm not mistaken the Shift key is 'Safe Mode' and that is great but I need to either remove one 3rd party software package at a time or be able to add one at a time until I find the ugly step child. And I don't think Safe Mode will allow that.
I did try the Verbose mode which was pretty cool to see however once it kicks on the video card and goes to the blue screen that is the transition screen after the Apple and before the desktop I lose the verbose read out and at the blue screen is where it hangs for 4 minutes. So unfortunately that didn't work. I really need to know if I can take out a key 'Component' from a specific folder that will not allow a 3rd party to register and then if it's not it simply place it back in the folder and that software is back in business. I am amazed that with today's technology first, that the computer doesn't tell you what the issue is and second that no one has come up with a way to trouble shoot when things do go as planned. Sigh. Any other recommendations? Anyone....Bueller....Bueller?

  • Best way to handle a email subscription and narrow down the emails.

We are using SCOM 2012 SP1 and have everything updated to UR5.
We have 2 groups defined.   Machines with names starting with Corp- and Prod-.     We have a subscription to notify on errors with this group.   We get many different alerts that are not necessarily important with
this subscription so we want to  narrow down the focus.
We would like to use these two groups but only send out notifications when certain types of events happen like
CPU utilization is too high or   logical disk space on C: drive is low (dont care as much about D: or E: etc).
Is there a way to do this with criteria set to specific rules or monitors?
    Thanks Lance

    1) In the 'Subscription' Page there is a criteria "created by specific rules or monitors', use that.
Get the rules/monitors that generate disk space and other alerts that you want and select them in the above mentioned criteria.
    2) to identify from email weather its for a CORP or PROD server, go to Channels tab and create two email notification channels one for each corp and prod. from the 'Format' page , just add "CORP:"  and "PROD:" in the beginning of the "E-mail subject:"
    option.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks, S K Agrawal

  • Typing in LOV 'find' and narrow down the list by second column

    Hi,
Does anybody know how to narrow down the LOV list by 'Find' to let system look up the second column instead of the the first one?

    Hi,
I think there is no way in forms to do this, coz The "find in LOV" is applicable only for the first lov column.
There is a workaround: Try to bild a queryeable multi-block pop up module which could be invoked when you enter the lov field.
    Hope that helps,
    CB

  • How can I narrow down what's causing CRC errors over internet downloads?

I'm trying to determine if its something wrong with my hardware configuration, my software or my actual internet connection that is giving me trouble.
Recently with my new build I am noticing all my downloads being large or small ending up either not fully downloaded or just full with CRC errors.
I'm not even sure where to begin as I've been trying to troubleshoot this for a few days and it just seems to keep getting worse.
My initial problem was the new nforce ide drivers that didn't quite gel with my optical drives.  I ended up unstalling the ide drivers and my optical drives worked correctly again.  (problem with optical drive was when you put a dvd writer (lite on 411s) in the system would freeze and not play the movie until the disk was ejected - then everything would return to normal)
After trying to find a fix or someway to get the drivers to work I started to notice I had trouble downloading large files off news servers.  For the past 3 days I just downloaded random stuff that looked to be complete as in all the files were there with pars.  I download the files and the winrar gives me crc errors and the pars say the files are incomplete.
Then I start to try to download any large file off the internet - game demos mostly off gamespy.com and the downloads just stop midway.
All these problems just started to add up and I'm having a hard time trying to narrow down and knock off what it is and what not.
Basically to start is there a way I can see if it's something related to my ide drivers, aspi drivers, internet connection, cable problem etc.  Please help, it's driving me nuts.  =)

    Help me please..

Are you running xp sevice pack 2?  I was having issues with having to refresh my browser several times to get a page to load,   and downloads sometimes stopped.
I downloaded the following sp2 patch from microsoft and it fixed the refresh issues,
    http://www.winnetmag.com/windowspaulthurrott/Article/ArticleID/44014/windowspaulthurrott_44014.html
If you are browsing while the download runs,  it could be sp2's new 10 connection limit.   I tweaked it to 50 connections and fixed ie stalling when loading long forum pages with alot of signatures present.  (I tweaked it with xp-anti spy)
    Can you tell Im guessing?
Possibly a bad ide or sata cable?
Have you tried running memtest to test for errors?   I prefer goldmemory as I believe it is more sensitive to errors with an a64.   It found errors memtest didnt.
This system is giving you a much harder time than it should.  Maybe you have a flaky board or memory errors.
good luck at any rate.  (p.s. its 3 am here,  couldnt sleep,  prob not making alot of sense at this point.  lol)

Since upgrading to iOS6 I can't browsing all application at app store only few I can browse which made me upset it narrow down my choices how can I over come this problem plz

Take it to your local Apple Store or AASP, it's covered by a 1 year hardware warranty. If you have AppleCare then give them a call but I'm pretty sure they will advise the same. If you have not purchased AppleCare yet please do, this will extend the warranty to 3 years however it MUST be purchased within the first  year of ownership. Let it go 366 days and you are out of luck. AppleCare will also include telephone support too.
    Good luck.

  • Trying to narrow down a UNIONed query

I've compared 2 tables using MINUS. There should have been no difference. Since there was, I used UNION to display the corresponding rows between both tables. Now, in my result set, I have to search through many rows that don't have correspondents to find rows that do.
Basically how do I narrow the UNION query down so that only the corresponding pair rows that have differences in their columns show up? I'm trying to use the primary key which is a combination of the first 5 columns. My query looks like this:
    select
    TRADE_DATE, ORDER_ROUTE_UID, ORDER_ENTRY_DATE, LEG_NBR, GROUP_SEQ_NBR,
    AFFL_FIRM_GROUP_ID, REC_CREAT_DATE
    from ors_firm_affl_hist@MSS_JOBS_HISTP01_LINK01.WORLD
    union
    select
    TRADE_DATE, ORDER_ROUTE_UID, ORDER_ENTRY_DATE, LEG_NBR, GROUP_SEQ_NBR,
    AFFL_FIRM_GROUP_ID, REC_CREAT_DATE
    from ors_firm_affl_hist;
How can I use TRADE_DATE, ORDER_ROUTE_UID, ORDER_ENTRY_DATE, LEG_NBR, GROUP_SEQ_NBR in order to have the query display only the rows that have correspondents in the other table as opposed to rows that just aren't in either table?

    Not sure if this meets your requirements;

  • Narrowing down stability issues with NEO2 and PSU

I have been having problems for 1-2 weeks now with my setup and i am very thankfull to this forum for leading me to the point that i am now.  Using Prime95 i think that i have been able to narrow my problem down to PSU being the culprit.
I was initally getting intermittant problems trying to POST (cd drives keep initiallizing) and seemed to solve this by getting my 6800GT a molex connector with nothing else on it.  This was not the solution as i continued to get BSOD's, and general instability.  Memtest off a boot CD was always fine but Prime95 never made it past the 2nd test, usually failing quite quickly.  I then pulled everything but my SATA Raid 0 array off the board and swapped out the 6800GT card with a Radeon 9000.  Prime95 worked!  Tested for 5 hours no problem.  Then i added my floopy,CDDrives,USB devices and now i am fully loaded and Prime95 tests NO PROBLEM.
68000GT appears to push my dual rail 12v PSU over the edge.  My 520 volt OCZ PSU comes on tuesday and i hope that i will finally have a stable kick ass system.
I just wanted to post this for all others to view and comment, as my config is probably a very common one (actually i built it based upon sharky extreme's reccomendation!!  see:   http://www.sharkyextreme.com/guides/MHGSBG/article.php/3415901  - this is exactly my config except for i have the XMS memory and some other add ons)  I am real disapointed with AMD/MSI for not being more forthcoming about PSU requirements, as i have spent a good 10 hours troubleshooting this problem, lost some needed sleep, etc.)

    Well - it is finished.
    My problems are 100% solved!!
I have determined that 2 symptoms existed.  With my current config, i was getting false starts from a cold boot (about 1 in 4).  Over time, i also noticed instability and BSOD's, corruption etc.
Step 1 - this forum - thanks for all the advice
Step 2 - Upgrade power supply.  This ELIMINATED my BSOD's although there was minor stuff happening (event viewer with littered dead bodies, certain programs would not run) but i feel this was a result of running at full load with inadequate PSU
Step 3 - Shame on me for not doing it sooner, but upgrading bios to 1.3 solved the false start problem.  I dont know how, i can only assume some incompatabilty with a piece of hardware i had with 1.2 was causing the problem.
Step 4 - format and reinstall.  I have been working FLAWLESSLY for 3+ days now without 1 crash, false start, or any weirdness whatsover.  My system is purring!
I would like to thank all for your reminders and ideas, as this was the longest 2 weeks for me.  I have never had a problem with a build like this and i was ONE DAY from RMA'ing the board.  I am glad i did not.
Advice to all - 1) purchase an adequate PSU  2) If you have 1.2 bios, dump it!
PS - also, thanks for the reccomendation NOT to install the IDE driver from Nvidia, my CDDrive never really worked right until this latest install and the only difference from the last XP install was that i did NOT install that driver.
    Thanks Again!

  • Connection issue - Need help narrowing down

Hi guys. Trying to pinpoint what's wrong with my connection. I've got a Westell 7500 on DSL. The speed is great, except every so often I'll lose my connection. Happens once every couple of weeks or so and it's usually at night around 8:00. All the lights on the modem/router look normal. But neither one of my 2 computers in the room can get a connection. I can't even log in to the router when this happens. After about an hour the connection appears to fix itself and switch back on. I've tried switching the router off and on to re-establish the connection but it seems to have no effect. Only thing I noticed is when I power-cycle it, the LED on the router labeled "Internet" sometimes remains off. Other times it stays solid green, even though the connection still doesn't work.
When it's back online and I check my transceiver stats they look fine. I can post 'em if you guys want but everything looked within normal range to me and I have no speed problems so I don't think line quality is the issue.
Even if you can't help me solve the problem, I hope someone can at least help me figure out whether it's a faulty router or Verizon's service in the area just shuts down temporarily (service status page never says anything).
    Thanks in advance!

Had another disconnection. But I was able to get to the router and re-connect right away. Usually doesn't even let me get to the router. Anyways, do these entries from the log mean anything to you guys? I lost the connection at about 22:59.

  • Firefox 7.01 freezes. Console log included for narrowing down.

Corporate environment running Macintosh OSX 10.6.8 and Firefox 7.0.1.
Zimbra webmail web page loaded and works as long as user is using Firefox. When user steps away for a bit (maybe 10-50mins) they return to Firefox spinning beachball. I don't think this happens every time they step away.
Also window was open at time of crash from Quicktime "Additional software is required for Quicktime to playback this media. It may be available from the Quicktime Components page." There are no additional components and there is no media on the page.

  • Weekly results and narrowing down the amount of weeks in the chart

    Post Author: Gilbert
    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
I make a report that shows me survey results per week. Now in the new year, we start again with weeknumber 1, resulting in an error at the beginning of the chart, instead of giving me the correct result after week 52 at the end of the chart.
Also, I want to select the date range so I don't have all weeks displayed in one chart. For example, if I select 2 months as parameter I need to see only the weekly results from that period.
    Anyone who can help?

    Hi.
you have to create a formula that says:text(year(date))
& format(date to weeknumber)) and group your data on this variable
instead oy the week. then the graph will show: 2007 week532008 week01
2008 week02 Be careful to add the 0 in front of the weeknumbers below or equal to 9.I dont have now with me the formula, but all the functions needed to create the formula are available in CR. Mikiap

  • Need to narrow down select results!!

I am kind of new at this, but i learn as i go and what i need. I am deployed to iraq and four of us made a Oracle db, but the man witht he most experience is gone.
i need to do something to this effect:
    create table temp11 as (
    select c.DIC,c.NSN,c.CYCLE_DATE,c.IMAGE_DATA,c.AAC,c.Z01,c.CYCLE_DT,b.LAST_LOCATION,b.LAST_DATE
    from itv a, itv_service b, temp10 c
    where a.doc_no = substr(c.image_data,30,14)
    and a.tag_id = b.tag_id
    and b.CONSIGNEE_DODAAC = substr(c.image_data,30,6)
    and b.last_date in (select max(d.last_date) from itv_service d));
when i run this query with out the last line it returns in excess of 500,000 rows and i know that some are old, all i need is to associate the most current last_location and last_date witheach substr(c.image_data,30,14) (which are doc numbers)
i have browsed thru oracle fourms for about two days trying different querys but nothing is working... any help is awesome
    the table desc are:
    SQL> desc ITV
    Name Null? Type
    DOC_NO VARCHAR2(17)
    TCN VARCHAR2(17)
    NSN VARCHAR2(25)
    NOMEN VARCHAR2(50)

    BUMPER_NO VARCHAR2(15)
    MODEL_NO VARCHAR2(15)

    COMMODITY_CD VARCHAR2(30)
    SQL> desc ITV_SERVICE

    LEAD_TCN VARCHAR2(17)
    TAG_ID NOT NULL VARCHAR2(9)
    CONSIGNEE_DODAAC CHAR(6)
    CONSIGNOR_DODAAC CHAR(6)
    CONTAINER_NO VARCHAR2(20)
    POE CHAR(3)
    POD CHAR(3)

    LAST_LOCATION VARCHAR2(60)
    LAST_DATE DATE
    MISSION VARCHAR2(11)
    UNIT VARCHAR2(12)
    CLASS VARCHAR2(12)
    FREE_TEXT VARCHAR2(40)
    ULN VARCHAR2(20)
    UIC CHAR(5)
    SHIPMENT_UNIT_NO VARCHAR2(40)
    UNIT_HOME_STATION VARCHAR2(40)
    TAGCLOSED CHAR(3)
    SQL> desc TEMP10
    Name Null? Type
    DIC CHAR(3)
    NSN CHAR(13)
    CYCLE_DATE DATE
    IMAGE_DATA NOT NULL CHAR(80)
    AAC CHAR(6)
    Z01 CHAR(3)
    CYCLE_DT DATE
    thanks

    Does this help
select dic, nsn, cycle_date, image_data, aac,
        z01, cycle_dt, last_location, last_date
    from
        select c.dic, c.nsn, c.cycle_date, c.image_data, c.aac,
            c.z01, c.cycle_dt, b.last_location, b.last_date,
            max(b.last_date) over (partition by substr(c.image_data,30,14)) max_date
        from itv a, itv_service b, temp10 c
        where
            a.doc_no = substr(c.image_data,30,14)
        and a.tag_id = b.tag_id
        and b.consignee_dodaac = substr(c.image_data,30,6)
where last_date = max_date    It uses the max analytic function to generate a maximum date for each substr(c.image_data,30,14), the outer select just returns those rows where the last date matches the max.

  • Narrow down the forum search function

Is it possible to use the built in search function but to limit the search to a certain forum or space?

It does to some extend. Though I was looking for a way to limit the search by spaces, not to filter the search result. For instance to search for ASM, but to exclude the ASM group or space. I think it was nice to be able to select or choose from a list of space names, and to be able to restrict the search using multiple "spaces".
