NAS200 will not turn on with HD installed

My NAS200 will not turn on with the Hard Drive installed, but will turn on and boot up without the Hard Drive installed.  There was just a storm and we did loose power.  I did not have the NAS200 plugged into a battery back and I unplugged it from the wall after we lost power.
Since it turns on and boots without the Hard Drive installed, could the problem be with the Hard Drive itself?
Does anyone have a recommendation?  I am affraid i lost everything on my Hard Drive and that my NAS200 no longer works.  Can't afford to purchase a new NAS200 or Hard Drive at this time.
However, I did go out and purchase a surge protector/battery backup today.
Please Help.

It may be a problem with the hard drive.
One way to check would be to connect the hard drive directly to the PC and see if the PC detects it when it boots up.
Can you ping the NAS200 when it powers up without the hard drive connected?

  • Powerbook G4 17" will not turn on with battery installed

    Hello,
My PB will not turn on anymore. The battery was down. I bought a new battery and it is loading properly (except for the light on the adapter is always green while loading). But when I try to put the PB on, with only the battery installed, nothing happens. I just hear the fan is turning on, but it will not start-up.
If I remove the battery and plug-in the adapter the PB starts-up normally.
It's strange, I really thought i'd solve the problem with a new battery, but it doesn't help.
Anybody know what is going on here?

I have the same problem with my 17" Powerbook G4. I replace the PRAM battery and that did not work. I took it to the local Apple store to have them take a look at it the the tech said he had never seen one act like this. He told me that his guess was the it is a bad logic board. Not sure I want the put that kind of money into it. Its a good laptop but the logic boards are high in price. One thing I though about doing just to see is to replace the DC in board. There is a web site call powerbookmedic.com that has them for 50 bucks. Its the same place I got my PRAM battery.

  • Iphone 4 will not turn on with or without charger. Lock/sleep button is broke. Itunes will not identify phone.

My Iphone 4 shut off randomly last night while charging. It will not turn on with or without charger (I have tried multiple working outlets and usb ports. Didn't work)
The lock/sleep button is broke (I tried pushing it down on multiple surfaces as hard as I could while holding the home button. Didn't work.)
My Itunes will not identify the phone is hooked up to the computer (my itunes is completely up to date. I tried all the methods of pressing down the home button and pluuging in the usb chord while Itunes is running.Tested my roomates Iphone 4 with my chord and it charged and Itunes identified it. Tried his chord as well. Didn't work.)
All the advise I can find in these communities involves using the phone. The screen is black completely black no matter what I do. It makes no noise either (called it several times) I have read about 15 different posts on here and tried every method I found more than once. Do I just need to take it in?

Apple won't repair it, they just offer you an out of warranty replacement, cost is US $149. Me? I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a discontinued model. I'd sell it for parts on eBay or go to a third-party repair shop. Be aware, if you go the third-party repair shop route, you forfeit all support from Apple, including the right to an out of warranty replacement.

  • My iPhone 4G died and will not turn on with hard reset.

My iPhone 4G died and will not turn back on. I got an e-mail and then took a phone call. After ending the call I went to text, but nothing. Screen was black with no warning. I plugged it up on a charger and nothing. I tried a soft rest and a hard reset and still nothing. I have it plugged up to my computer and without it coming on it will not recognize it on iTunes to do a restore. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Is this fixable or should I write it off and replace the phone? It is 1yr and 1 month old.
    Thanks,

It's been a day and no luck, so I guess I have to get a new battery?

  • IBook G3 800 GHz will work on battery power but will not turn on with AC pl

This iBook will function with a battery, but when the AC is plugged in it does nothing. It will not turn on. Is this a logic board problem or maybe a short or something not connected inside for the AC plug?

    It's a rather complicated repair:
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/iBook-G3-12-Inch-DC-In-Board/134/1
    Apple doesn't consider it a do-it-yourself job.
Expect to pay $115-$145 for the repair (plus shipping if you have to send it away). The iBook may not be worth the repair, so some people are trying to do it themselves.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Will not boot up with maverick installed

MAC PRO WILL NOT BOOT UP AFTER INSTALLING MAVERICK

I know it can appear like Mavericks is causing an issue, but really what has happened is the installation has uncovered some operating system issues that previously existed. It's typically best to backup your data and perform an Erase & Reinstall before doing an Mac OS X upgrade. This ensure you get a good, clean, stable copy of the OS before moving forward.

  • My daughter dropped her ipad (on the carpet with a case)and the screen went blank.  It will not turn off with force-off nor does the apple icon appear.

Ipad was dropped onto carpeting and the screen just went blank.  It will not show turn off slide, nor will it display the apple icon.  Pusing both home and on/off button together also does nothing.  The screen barely displays any light when the home button is pushed. I am able to sync it but the screen is not displaying anything.

  • T60 will not turn on with adapter

I have a client that has a t60 and whenever he needs to use it he has to remove the battery plug it back in power up the laptop then plug in the adapter. The only lights that work are wireless and hard drive. I read somewhere that it could be the cmos battery, LCD inverter, or the motherboard. I would rule out the last one because I am using the laptop right now to post this. I know that someone out there will lead me in the right direction to finally fix it. Thank you all in advance for any insight you may provided. Yoon

Still no dice if I take the battery out and try it with the adapter only. From what I was told by my client he never had anything spilled on it. I opened it to see if there is any liquid damage just incase someone else used it and didn't mention it. This laptop only wants to turn on with battery pull then once on will accept the adapter to charge the battery and direct power.

    Help please.

I'm re-installing from a cd.  I have upgraded since Aperture 1.0!!  When I use the install from Aperture 3.0, it won't open my library (because it has been updated to a newer version of Aperture).  So, I tried to open Aperture with the sample library on the disc.  No go.  States I don't have permissions.
I updated the re-installed version of Aperture 3.0 to the current 3.2.3.  I still CANNOT open Aperture.  I seem to be getting the same error message.
I have fixed permissions and all.  My Mac is up to date.  I don't know what else to do.
I have a MacBook Air and Aperture works great on it.  Problem is my huge library is difficult to transfer or duplicate since it is so large.  I think I will just take out my hard drive from my Mac Pro and put it in a desktop enclosure.
I can't even open Aperture from my Vault.

  • BB Curve 8900 died and will not turn on with the red lights on all the time

    Hey all
The Blackberry Curve 8900 I have battery completely drained yesterday afternoon and I could not connect it to a charger until I get back home last night.  I plugged the phone in around 11:00 , and even now 8 in the morning still wont be able to switch it on and the red light is on all the time.
Its a brand new one, I dont know what should I do to make it working.
    Thanks for all your help!!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Typically, these batteries do not like to be fully drained...while rare, it has been known to render the battery useless. But, before you jump to that, there are a few diagnostic steps you can take.
Get a known good and fully charged battery -- put in in your BB. See if it works. See if you can charge.
Get a known good other charger, attach it to your BB, see if it charges.
    Try a different power outlet.
Give your battery to someone with the same model BB that they know charges fine. See if they can charge it.
The results of these steps will guide you to the root cause...which could be your battery, your BB, your charger, or the wall outlet you were using.
    Good luck!

  • My display will not turn on with Mac Pro!

When I shut down from the Apple menu and wait about 15 minutes then turn back on by pushing button on front of box, the display works just fine, but if I shut down and start up in the morning I have to restart about 10 times before the screen comes up!

Well guys, I myself have this same problem.. luckily i purchased a mac pro with 2 of these 7300 cards.. so i was able to swap the cards between their respective slots... and yep, sure enough, the "supposedl" good card has the same problem when in the bottom slot.. so this problem is only shown when monitors are connected to the BOTTOM slot.. the displays seem to work ok when in the TOP slot however. But this is hardly what I call a functional system. for this much money I would tend to want it to work 100% out of the box....
The mac is now in the shop.. and frustratingly. i got a call today from them, not able to replicate this intermittent problem... so now my 1 month old mac may have to get shipped back to apple (im in switzerland, itll be shipped to ireland) for another 2 weeks of downtime.
Apple better get off their ***** and really look into this a bit deeper.. this seems to be a bit of an epidemic problem.

  • Screen will not turn ON with the l505d gs6000

Cant get the screen to turn on. It is completely black. I'm not a techie so I'm not quit sure what to do. I read a post about using the FN key with one of the F keys as well as turning off & taking the battery out. Tried it and nothing happened. The laptop is powering on and I can hear the fans turning but the monitor itself won't turn on. Any suggestions or advise? I do have issues with it over heating too.

If you shine a light on the screen or look at an angle, can you see anything?
