NAT444 support on ASR9K without ISM board

Hi
I have a little confusion on ASR9k. we dont have ISM module on ASR9K so we're going to enable NAT444 (CG) , we're not sure this feature can support on this platform without ISM with XR 4.3 MPLS software. Would you please someone to resolve my doubt?
BR

You definitely need an ISM card in your ASR9k to support NAT44. This feature has been supported starting with 4.2.0.

The PCIe and PXI cards you mentioned are specifically RIO.
But you managed to program a USB-6225 with LV FPGA?  I'm not even sure there is an FPGA on there to program.  It is an M series DAQ board.

  • Can I run static NAT44 in default VRF without ISM or VSM module?

I have to configure static NAT (1IP to 1 IP NAT44) in default vrf. I don't want to buy  ISM/VSM and licence CGv6
The traffic will be very low (maximum 10000 session per second). I don't want to place a new router. ARS9k has 4.2.1 frimware version.
Can I run static NAT44  in default VRF without ISM or VSM module?

    Hi Tomasz,
unfortunately no, even at very low speed, we can not perform NAT tasks on ASR9000 without a service card.

We use MXI-2 controller under Linux that works perfectly, but it crashes when we run machine without graphics board (PC for data acquisition).
We use RH 6.1 and no other boards in PC except netork (3COM FastEth).
Error message when trying to run resman is:
National Instruments VXI Resource Manager version 3.0
Resource Manager failed with error code -105:
    "Unable to initialize NI-VXI driver.
Unable to open NI-VXI driver window."
We observed similar behavior also with GPIB under Linux - as son as graphics board is out, first simple ibwrt/ibrd command hangs even the whole PC ! and hard reset is necessary.

Thanks for the answer - well, after unplugging the VGA adapter (simple ATI Rage 128 series) the memory mapping is of course reconfigured - so please have a look if it looks like "dangerous". Files are attached.

  • Raw support of cameras without upgrading?

Hopefully this is a simple question, but I can't find he info anywhere.
I have a Samsung EX1/TL500 which can create raw files (now supported in LR3.2rc).
    I use lightroom 2.7
Will I need to upgrade to Lightroom 3.2 to use the raw support for the Samsung Ex1 or is there a way to update raw camera support in LR2.7 without upgrading to LR3.2?
    Thanks in advance,
    Phil

    Hi Phil,
You can download the free DNG converter, convert the files to DNG then open them in 2.7.
You won't have the same goodies as 3.2 such as the noise reduction and sharpenng, but you can work on them.
These two alone made the upgrade reasonable for me.

  • How is SQL AlwaysOn AG supported in Azure without 3 fault domains?

For a Windows cluster to achieve quorum there needs to be 3 nodes. Hence, all tutorials guide you to create 3 VMs in the same availability set. (See image
    here.)
However, Azure only makes a guarantee for the first two VMs in an availability set to end up in different fault domains. Any additional VMs might end up in the same fault domain as the first two. (See
    here, and here
    under Partitioning.)
How then can Microsoft support SQL AlwaysOn AG on Azure VMs without true quorum?
    Here's what happened:
We host a very large multi-tenant software in Azure IaaS backed by a SQL cluster configured, according to best practices, as 3 VMs in one availability set. Yesterday the passive and witness nodes simultaneously crashed, the active node promptly shut down
the cluster since majority vote was lost. When the nodes were restarted (within minutes) they showed that they crashed, leaving me with the only assumption that they are on the same hardware and we indeed only get two fault domains.
This happened 3 times. In one day. With a few hours between each outage.
Support confirmed there was indeed an outage on the hardware hosting those VMs.
So back to the question above, without the proper hardware configuration, how can this even be supported for production?
We invested months of research and testing on different platforms till we chose our current configuration on Azure. However, it's impossible for us to continue hosting a production system on Azure with such a bug in its current clustering/HA support.
Regards, Shloma Baum FieldOne Systems http://www.FieldOne.com

An alternative to the 3-node Windows cluster is to use 2 nodes with a file share witness, using the domain controller to host the file share. Depending on the version of Windows Server, your Availability Group is still dependent on Active Directory and
DNS and, hence, if the domain controller goes down, you still run the risk of not having an automatic failover (or with Windows Server 2012 and higher, longer failover time) even in a 3-node cluster. Windows Server 2012 R2 introduces dynamic witness such that
even if you only have 1 node in the cluster, your cluster resources can stay online as the quorum is dynamically adjusted depending on the number of available votes. But to really provide real HA/DR in Azure, you need to span your Windows cluster in different
Affinity Groups and even Regions to minimize having the cluster nodes being impacted by a single host failure.

  • Can SAPSprint support the printers without own IP address(USB printer)?

    Dear all,
We want to switch SAPlpd to the new tool SAPSprint for Server based printing.
Our SAP version is 4.6C. We has SAPlpd on our print server (address is 192.168.214.222).
We have two kinds of printers.
One kind are network printers with own IP address.
The other kind are USB printers without own IP address, need to be connected to user's computer.
Now we have installed SAPSprint on a new server(address is 192.168.214.223).
We found that it is OK for network printer.
For example we have a network printer named NP1, NP1's output device in sap system(SPAD) is named NP01,
Host spool access method is 'S',
our old print server(SAPlpd installed on it) address is 192.168.214.222,
the new print server(SAPSprint installed on it) address is 192.168.214.223.
We install NP1 on the new print server(install driver for NP1 during this process),
then change the config of Destination host of output device NP01 in SPAD,
change it from 192.168.214.222 to 192.168.214.223.
(the config of Host printer we use the same name NP1,no need to change, also use Host spool access method 'S')
It is OK for NP1's using,
the SAPSprint replace SAPlpd to provide sap print service on the new server for NP1.
But for the USB printers, the SAPSprint seem not support.
We have a USB printer named UP1, UP1 is connect to a user computer named CP1,
UP1 is installed on CP1(install driver for UP1 on CP1),
and set UP1 for share as name UP1,
UP1's output device in sap system(SPAD) is named UP01,
Host spool access method is 'S'.
We add the printer UP1 on the old server(address is 192.168.214.222),
notice it is add not istall, printer UP1 is installed on CP1,
it will show as a name 'UP1 on CP1' in 'Printers and Fax' view.
our config of Host printer in SPAD is
    CP1\UP1,
the config of Destination host is 192.168.214.222.
This setting is OK for SAPlpd environment. We can use UP1 sucessfully for sap print.
But when also add the printer  on the new printer server(address is 192.168.214.223),
and change the config of Destination host from 192.168.214.222 to 192.168.214.223.
We found that this setting doesn't work in SAPSprint environment.
It will reply 'SAPlpd err'.In fact we are using SAPSprint on server 192.168.214.223.
We found the below important information in sapnote 894444:
All printers that SAPSprint uses must be installed on the SAPSprint computer.
In our case, the SAPSprint computer is the new server 192.168.214.223
Network printer NP1 is installed on  the new server 192.168.214.223, NP1 can work well.
USB printer UP1 not installed on  the new server 192.168.214.223,
it is installed on user computer named CP1, and is set share,
we add UP1 on the new server 192.168.214.223, UP1 doesn't work.
Is this means SAPSprint doesn't support the USB printers (without own IP address) in Server based printing conditon?
Any experienced please give your advice.
    Regards
    Allen
Edited by: allenGG on Sep 9, 2011 12:00 PM

In fact, finally we found SAPSprint can support the USB printers, but not good and stable enough.
Sometimes the SAP print request of USB printers not printed out, we didn't find why it happened.
And for the network printers, we found it is good working in SAPSprint environment.
We have more than 10 usb printers. They are used for our production department which is 24 hours running.
Since each printer is only used for each user computer(not for share),
so at the end we use front end printing method for these printers.

    HI,
It looks like you tried some of the settings in the driver.
Are you choosing 8 1/2 x 11 Borderless in the Paper settings besides choosing the check box on borderless printing?   I think you have to choose the paper type first... Like the Photo Paper, then the size with the borderless wording, then click the check box for borderless.
This would be the same for your 4x6 photo's too.

  • Share visualization without story board

    Hi,
Can we share only the Visualization to Lumira cloud without the story board?  Is it possible?
    Regards.
    Anjan

    Hi Anjan,
For some further clarification, Tammy is correct, you can't "publish" just a visualization, you would have to publish a storyboard (which then automatically publishes the corresponding dataset.) When you share a storyboard publicly, that user can access it using the Public Link without having to login to SAP Lumira Cloud.
Now if you go into Lumira Cloud itself and hit Explore after clicking the gear on the right for a dataset, shown below:
You can analyze the data and create a visualization from within Lumira Cloud itself. When you have it set to your liking, you can save it in the top right corner and it will show up in your list of items in the cloud.
You can then either share it either publicly or private, although because it was created within the cloud, users can only view a visualization link if they have a SAP Lumira Cloud account.
You can also embed a visualization into a webpage, more information in the link below, written by Christina Obry.

How much external hardware support do you need out of the box?  If you are willing to develop your own hardware drivers (such as LCD, user input, etc), then you can use almost any board with an ARM processor on it.

  • Lip sync audio without clapper-board - is this possible?

Is it possible to film an interview with a mobile phone or digital camera, record separate audio (with a Zoom recorder) at the same time, without a clapper-board at the beginning and end of the sequence, and then edit the two together in iMovie 09 so that they remain in perfect sync?
The reason for this? Very discreet and informal documentary filming with low-end cameras, discreet quality sound recording.
    Am I dreaming here?

You say "..I know how to do this in QuickTime pro.."
But in QT Pro it's absolutely simple. As you say, you can "..use this ... for stretching or shrinking the off-camera audio recording."
In QT Pro, open the video and trim it to the length you want ..in other words cut out any extra beyond the end of the interview. Then open the audio in a separate QT Pro player window. Trim it to match the ending point of the video. Then Select all the (trimmed) audio and use ⌘+C to Copy all that audio.
Switch to the other, video, QT player window, and choose Edit and then Add to Selection & Scale (..or press AltShift+⌘V..)
That will add the audio to the video, and will scale the audio to match exactly the duration of the video. If the audio was off by half a second, it'll now exactly match the length of the video, so it'll be in sync at the start, in sync at the end, and halfway through it may be off by about a quarter of a second. The pitch will - probably unnoticeably - shift very slightly up or down if the audio is thus speeded up or slowed down slightly to match the duration of the video.
"..I’m trying to shoot very simple interviews while on photo assignments, either with an LX3 or a mobile phone and I’m looking fora way to improve the sound quality.."
It sounds like you're really just creating problems for yourself. The LX3 is a nice little camera ..but you're carrying two devices: a Panasonic LX3 camera and a Zoom H2 which is nearly twice the size of the LX3.
What you should do is choose a small camcorder - something like a little JVC miniDV-tape camcorder, or a Sony TRV-14 or similar (..tape-based cameras are very cheap now, or get a small Panasonic AVCHD camcorder..) - and plug a small directional 'zoom' mic on top of it. The size of camera and mic will be smaller than your combined LX3 + Zoom H2 recorder, and you won't need extra hands to handle two devices.
Choose a camcorder which also takes still shots ..instead of using a stills camera which also shoots moving pictures.
With that all-in-one setup of a camcorder with a zoom mic on top you just press the button to start shooting, and press again to stop. Everything will be in sync - always.
With your LX3 - or mobile phone - plus Zoom H2 scenario, you've got to switch on the camera/phone, then switch on the H2 ..and in the rush to do it right you'll make a mistake, or won't set the H2's recording volume high enough, or will choose the wrong audio setting (Mono/90-degree stereo/120-degree stereo/front only/front & back), you'll have two batteries to worry about, you may not be sure that the H2 is recording ..and then you've got to stitch together the separate recordings afterwards.
You want something foolproof, with one Start/Stop switch, nothing to worry about, but which gives good sound in-sync with the picture.
    Get a little camcorder.

  • Help! Support for MSI-K8NGM-V board

I have this mobo for two months now.. and im regretting it...
The reason i choose this mobo is because of the chipset: nvidia 6100
The reason why I'm frustrated about this mobo is that I can't overclock it...
    Is there a way?
Can I do it by flashing the BIOS?
There seems to be less support from MSI for this mobo.
Also, i have a 2xDDR400 modules but when i used Aida32 it is showing that it is DDR333...
    Any insight would help.. TY

-V series boards are 'Value' boards, and not really aimed at overclockers; there certainly won't be any overclocking features in BIOS, though you may be able to use software tools to acheive this.

  • ASR9k CGNAT ISM scalability and performance design

    Hi.
I need some performance and scalability numbers and limitations of ASR9k ISM card for NAT44. Documentation says "at least 10 Gbps full-duplex bandwidth throughput". Some other presentation are mentioning 15 Gbps but I think this is probably pps limitation and not bandwidth.
    So my question is:
How many pps can one ISM card handle, I found somewhere around 1.5Mpps is this correct.
Is this limitation separate for inbound and outbound connection or this is cumulative value.
I read somewhere if we want to use full potential of ISM card that 2 pair of ServiceApp must be used. Is the limitation under section 1. referring to the one ServiceApp pair or two pairs. How many pps should each ServiceApp pair handle?
How will we know when ISM can't handle any more traffic? Will "Inside to outside drops system limit reached" and "Inside to outside drops resource depletion" counters start to increase?
    Thanks

    Hi Omadon,
    1) It would be about 5.5 - 6 Mpps per ISM. It may vary a little bit based on the packet length and other parameters like logging, etc.
    2) It is cumulative value (for both I2O + O2I traffic)
    3) Yes, you would need 2 ServiceApp pairs for maximum throughput. With 1 pair of ServiceApp, you would achieve 50% of throughput.
    4) There will be drops at internal ports. It won't be reflected in any "show" XR CLI.
    regards,
    Somnath.
