Native function in iOS to save a pdf and access a pdf off the network?
Hi,
My camera didn't ship with a manual inside. I'd like to be able to download the pdf version of the manual from the camera website and save it to my iOS for future reference when i am possibly off wireless network. Any ideas how I can do that without downloading an app? Does the Apple iOS have any built-in functionality to accomplish this? I have heard the Andriod OS has a built-in PDF viewer.

You can save the file in iBooks. This keeps it on the phone and you can view it in iBooks. That is a native iOS app.

My ipad is disabled and I cannot restore it because the Function Find My Ipad setting was on, and I cannot get in the ipad to turn off the setting in order to restore the ipad. Does anyone know how to solve the problem

Tried that, didn't work.
Turns out Safari "forces" the french web interface by using the 'hl=fr' code in the url. for example http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=fr
Evidently that overrides local settings, even if you're logged into your Google account.
So, since I can't modify the search query url in Safari without jb'ing my phone, I'd say this one's a bust.

iPhone 4S will either show 100% battery or dead battery right before shutting off, nothing in between. Has iOS 7 now after restore and is continuing to do the same thing as when it has iOS 6. Frustrating, like not having a fuel gauge on your car!!l. Purchased around March of this year so not very old, never wet, damaged, etc.

"Save as PDF" crashes the application
Hello all,
I used to be able to save documents as PDF's by going to Print > PDF > Save as PDF before running routine maintenance tasks using the latest version of Onyx.
Here's what I've done:
1. I have all of my Apple software updates.
2. This is not a CS/Adobe/Indesign issue (because I don't have those programs).
3. I have attempted to Save as PDF in other accounts to no avail, so the problem lies beyond my home directory.
4. I have repaired my permissions and rebooted.
5. It doesn't matter what program I attempt to Save as PDF from.

When I save a PDF report the file name is xdo instead of "report name.pdf"

I started a new project with BI Publisher integrated with OBIEE, I builded a set of reports that are working properly (these are the first reports on this OBIEE/BIP server)
Accessing Oracle BI Cataloge I can run the reports and change the output format to pdf.
when I press the right mouse button and select "save as" a dialog box appears.
On the "File name" field, the default name that BIP writes is "xdo" I would like it to be the "name of the report.pdf".
It seems that if I create a new report the file name is correct but if I change the name of the report then BIP always selects XDO as the default file name.
Is there any place where I can configure the default name.Thanks for the quick reply. I figured out how to get the desired results by using tagging. For anyone who may reference this post in the future, I went to "Customize" in the top right corner of Adobe, then selected "Create new tool set...", looked under "accessiblity and found the "tag" option. Hit ok, tag is added to the toolbar. Then I highlighted the dataset in the PDF that was relevant to the output format, then clicked "tag", saved as spreadsheet. Sorry I can't provide more details on how tagging works or if there's a more elegant solution available, but I'm sure one's out there.

where should i check for the coding relevant to triggering the output to the vendor?
the user has issues with the text on the PDf which i should correct.
But how do i see where the coding for the same will be done?

System will not use function modules of type SO_OBJECT_SEND, instead it will use the below.
Function module ADDR_GET_NEXT_COMM_TYPE for fetching the address number of the Vendor and the import parameter LVS_COMM_VALUES will contain the address number and email address to whom the PDF needs to be sent.
Note: This part of code will be triggered only when the UPDATE DEBUGGING is switched on from the SYSTEM option. -
The APP application on my iPad does not function properly - any downloads requested immediately fail and send me back tot he main iPad screen. Any suggestions on to hoe to fix this? The software has been updated to iOS 5.1.1, and no furthe updates are available.
This is my boilerplate response when app downloads are stalled or in the "waiting" mode. There are a bunch of things here to try.
Tap on the "installing" icon and see if you can pause the install, then tap on it again in order to resume the install.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download and install at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and see if the install resumes.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad. -

Cannot save a PDF from the internet
Someone has sent me a link to a PDF file and I can open it but when I try to save it to my dropbox like normal I get the message 'The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (26)'.

I FOUND A WORK AROUND! Save As, wasn't working for me Either.
So, after you have made your changes,
click on create PDF
Select From Multiple Files.
Window will pop up with current open files.
Make sure only the document you want is on the list.
Click Ok.
Now it has [Binder 1] open.
Click File > Save As
Choose Location Desired
Name document as Desired.
Click Save. -

Can iOS app run as daemon and access iPhone functions?
I wanted to make an app that stays in the background at all times such that it can send SMS messages at scheduled times. I've tried other apps to do this, but they all use a third party server to send the messages. What I want is for the phone itself to send the message(s) on a pre determined/user defined schedule.
If this is possible with the iOS SDK, then I'm going to start learning iOS development from scratch. If it's something that cannot be done, then I won't bother.It can't be done with an App that Apple will approve.
