Native IPv6 with Airport stops working

Hi!
My ISP has just started supporting native IPv6, which I would like to get working with my Airport Extreme as router.
After configuring the Airport in Router mode (AU 5.6), with automatic configuration, my router and all my devices are in fact configured with an IPv6 address.
However, now the weird problem starts:
After configuring the airport, it reboots, my devices receive an address, and IPv6 works!
....for about 10 seconds. During these 10 seconds, ping6 and telnet/browser to IPv6 addresses respond and work.
However, after about 10 seconds, ping stops responding, and new connections time out.
If I connect my computer directly to the cable modem, IPv6 works flawlessly.
I can also see the IPv6 router advertisement, where I receive a /64 network delegation.
I also know other users of the same ISP who have got this working fine with other routers.
Are there any known problems with the Airport Extreme with IPv6 in native mode?

jvbrandis wrote:
that is kind of a circular argument, isn't it? Unless people start using IPv6, the usage will not become any higher...
I was speaking of ISP's use of IPv6 when I cited only 1%. For users who's ISP's have not implemented it yet, they won't be able to use it.
I for one would like to perform some testing from my home environment, and if the Airport Express is not able to function as an IPv6 router, I will need to replace it with a devices that works.
Again, as far as I know it does, but in order to use it in your home environment, won't your ISP have to have implemented it natively as well (I know you said they did).
Btw; I have been using the Aiport Express in tunnel mode, which seems to work just fine (but has very bad performance, due to the 6to4 tunneling).
So perhaps your ISP only provides 6to4 tunneling when they said they implemented it. I know that has occurred in some Comcast areas. Perhaps a call to your ISP for some details is in order.

We have JDK 1.6 installed.  The License Merge Module is not related to
    this issue.
    The files under \Program Files\Common Files\Business
    Objects\3.0\crystalreportviewers11\prompting  are not being installed.
If we copy files, into this folder structure the reports work.
One of the Business Object's Merge Modules should install the files
there rather than just an empty folder structure.
I got was able to figure out how to enter a customer support message.
They said that they could not support us because we were not on CRXIR2
    (Crystal Reports 11 Release 2).
I found a download for CRXIR2SP4 (same thing service pack 4).
I installed it the Merge Module names changed to include a "_5"
    Was:
    CrystalReports11_RDC_Reportengine.msm
    CrystalReports11_RDC_Runtime.msm
CrystalReports11_HotFix_Merge.msm (This is contrived by us from one of
    your hot fixes)
    Now:
    CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Reportengine.msm
    CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Runtime.msm
    CrystalReports11_5_RDC_License.msm (should have been included)
    *CrystalReports11_HotFix_Merge.msm (not needed anymore)
I will try to put a installer together with these.  If this work there
will be some complexity around uninstalling the old one and installing
    the new one.

Hi, my read aloud feature with PDF stopped working. It reports: no US English voice available on this system. How can I restore it to read aloud again? Thx, Rick

I am having the exact same problem... My Text-to-speech just errors out when I select a new voice and then that voice disappears from the choices of voices. I can not get it to speak anything since the Leopard upgrade. Some suggestions would be great as to what might cause this to fail. Thanks

  • Airport stopped working, so I tried to reinstall the OS and applications, but because it's all earlier versions, I can't use Word, iWork, or anything else. Since I didn't erase the versions I got with my (secondhand) macbook, can I uninstall and go back?

I bought the macbook with other stuff installed, but was only given the original discs. I hadn't realised that the OS and pretty much everything else had been upgraded from what was on the discs, and now I can't work on any of my documents. I have also bought software based on the operating system installed when I bought it, and now some of it is no longer usable, either.
It's bad enough I have to borrow my roommate's computer to get internet for job hunting and important communications, since Airport just stopped working (not sure what's up with that, but I hardly care now, in light of everything else), but now I need it to even write out lesson plans for my volunteer teaching or do my own writing. If I had a job, I'd have gone to an Apple certified place a long time ago to try fixing the Airport. Since I couldn't afford it, I thought I'd try reinstalling everything. I don't know much about where everythign is, so I figured maybe that would reinstall Airport, too. .
The sucky thing is, I had planned to buy more recent versions of any of the extra programs that I use once I had the money. just not quite yet.
I didn't use the 'delete and install option,' yet the earlier versions seem to have taken over and overwritten things. For instance, now some programs say parts are missing, or are just trial versions.
Lesson learned: Leave things well enough alone until you can afford the experts. Obviously there are some things I can't fix for myself.

Hi!! To add more to the issue, the other day, my airport card is nowhere to be found. It now says no airport card installed which is really crazy. I also noticed that my MBP freezes during start up and I had to zap the PRAM so it would open up. Anyone there who experienced the same thing? I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

  • Airport stops working & has to be reset

My Apple Airport Extreme stops working almost once every day
The light stays green but all the network is off
I have to reset it by unplugging & replugging the electric connection
    It is protected by Password
    Will appreciate any suggestion

I am having the exact same problem. Did you ever find an answer? The IT guy where I work said I needed to go into airport utility and make the airport clone the address of my mackbook pro. I can not see how to do this. He suggested that since the comcast router was set up with my mackbook pro directly connected, it keeps looking for my macbook address and since the extreme is between the laptop and the router, it times out.

  • I can't subscribe to Match on Win 7 with iTunes 10.6.3.25. When Apple ID auth window comes up iTunes crashes with "iTunes stopped working" and iTunes closes.

On Windows 7 with iTunes 10.6.3.25 I cannot subscribe to iTunes Match. In iTunes I click on iTunes Match in the left pane then click the "Subscribe for $25 a year" button. A window that looks like I am going to be asked to login using my Apple ID and password starts to come up but then an error occurs and I get a window that says "iTunes stopped working" then iTunes closes. What can I do ?

I've also read somewhere about using Win Rar to extract files to do with apple mobile device support from the itunes installer file, would you recommend that to? I don't really fancy the idea of doing anything that involves my registry because knowing me I'll end up screwing my laptop up for good lol
It's a little more involved than just doing a standalone AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi install, I'm afraid. The relevant drivers in AMDS are not digitally signed for 64-bit XP, so you have to force XP to accept a driver install that it would try its damnedest to not do. There's no driver issues for other 64-bit componentry in the installer package (I think the GEAR drivers install on XP 64-bit systems), but I believe there's still a bit of fancy footwork involved in getting them installed too ... although it's been a long time since I've looked at an instruction set, and I might not be recalling those things correctly. (So if you're not comfortable with system modifications, it might be best to steer clear of the Orca-based techniques ...)

  • Keystrokes with mouse stopped working in InDesign CC

Sorry if this has been already asked, but I couldn't find it anywhere.
About midway through the day yesterday, keyboards shortcuts in conjunction with the mouse stopped working for me in InDesign CC.
Specifically the option-click or command-click to click and duplicate items or to link items quit.
I don't know if I inadvertently hit some key to get this to stop working or what happened, but I haven't found a way to get it back. These still work in other programs, including CS6.
Any hints on how I can get these functions back?
    Thanks.

    Michael,
I am embarrassed to say that I was trying to make Korean work for a Chinese font. Yes, I am an idiot. I rarely, but sometimes get going too fast and fail to pay attention to which country the customer request originated. In this case it was Korea and upon placing the Korean font style it worked fine. Thanks you for addressing my issue and taking the time to help me.

  • Airport stopped working

My airport express suddenly stopped working.  I've checked for s/w updates and have tried unplugging and re-plugging.  Any thoughts on how to fix?
    Thanks

I just reset the express to factory settings per you instructions in an earlier reply and I am getting solid amber and it does not show up in my airport utility
Solid amber is a failure mode on the Express.
Power it off and wait 15-20 minutes, then try the factory default reset procedure one more time to see if the Express can be revived.
Power off  the Express for a few minutes
Hold in the reset button first, and keep holding it in for an additional 10 seconds, while you simultaneously plug the Express back in to power
Release the reset button after the hold period, and allow a full minute for it to restart
At this point, the Express should be slowly blinking amber, which is an indication that it has likely been reset. Now try to configure the Express again.
If you continue to get a solid amber light, then unfortunately, the Express has failed. No need to try anything further at this point....other than a new Express.
If the Express is slowly blinking amber, open AirPort Utility, click Other WiFi Devices, and click on AirPort Express. That will get the setup process started again so you can reconfigure the Express. You will be prompted if an update is available.

  • When i click on itunes store a message comes up with itunes stopped working

when i click on itunes store a message comes up with itunes stopped working

    Hey there Kezzleberry82,
It sounds like you can open the iTunes application but when you click iTunes Store the application becomes unresponsive. I would use the troubleshooting from the following article to help troubleshoot the issue named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
Start with opening iTunes in Safe Mode, and continuing from there per the instructions here:
    Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
    Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Ovi and syncing with Outlook stopped working after...

I recently upgraded to Ovi 2.2.1.23 and syncing of calendar and contacts stopped working.
The reason seem to be that when I try to connect to Outlook from the sync menu, Ovi freezes.
Everything was working fine before and I just upgraded Ovi, nothing else.
Any idea what to do? Ive tried to uinstall and reinstall Ovi but no change.

Gawd, how I love this Apple forum. At least microsoft has MVP's that come out and help others.

The options i have for default account are:

I have notes in my Gmail. How do I get them to my iTunes?

  • Mail with gmail stopped working

About a week ago my computer stopped downloading my mail from gmail. I can send mail, but it won't receive new mail. I tried deleting the gmail account and adding it again, but that didn't work. I also tried switching it to IMAP instead of POP, but that didn't work either. When I control+click the gmail account and select get info, it says there are no new messages on the server, but I know there are about 90.
I've tried repairing permissions and that didn't work.
I have another account for my school mail and it still receives and sends emails perfectly. Only the gmail account is giving me trouble.
    Any ideas?

Did you upgrade to 10.5.5 just before it stopped working? In my case, I couldn't SEND mail after upgrading. I had to change the smtp port from default to 465, and then it worked again. My son, who also has a macbook, upgraded to 10.5.5, and is on the same network as I am, had no problem. Strange, right?
Can you try changing the incoming port?

You are not alone with issues related to the e1000e (but all they concluded was that reloading the module makes it work again):
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=145564
It seems like this is more your issue:
    http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.linux. … devel/8932
But if none of those boot flags work for you, then there's not much you can do, and you'll have to write a script to reload the module each time after initial boot finishes I guess until the module gets fixed.
Also, power management of the PCIe interface causes the e1000e to shut off after a while as well (lots of people on CentOS noticing this):
    http://serverfault.com/questions/226319 … ie-aspm-do
So you can use that boot parameter to stop that from happening, if that becomes an issue for you as well.
