Nav pane showing only 2 levels of headings

My top 2 heading levels, which show correctly in the Nav Pane are standard Heading 1 and Heading 2, but my third level is one I made up, Head3. I don't know whether that is responsible for the Nav Pane omitting the third level. I have three TOC's, one for
only level 1, one for levels 1 and 2, and one for all three levels. These look ok.
More clues: 1. Rt-ck on an entry in the Nav Pane and choose Show Heading Levels, set it to All. Makes no difference.
2. If I change some of my Head3's to Heading 3, those do show in the Nav Pane. But until today I had my Head3's showing too.

Modify your Head3 style so that its "Outline level" is set to 3. In the Modify Style dialog box, click Format, Paragraph; you'll find the "Outline level" option on the Indents and Spacing tab.

  • Possible to Have ToC Default to Show Only Top Level (collapse sublevels)?

    Howdy!
I'll bet I'm not the only one wishing for this.  Let's say you're using Captivate 4's Table of Contents feature with a longish movie of Cp slides, which is chunked into bite-size sections content-wise.  In the ToC, though, you can't mimic that same organization scheme; at least, the learner would first need to collapse all the ToC folders you've created so they see only the top-level listing.
This can be a critical issue:  keeping the at-first-glance list in the ToC brief enough to be inviting to learners, yet allowing learners to drive which details are currently visible.
A movie's topical hierarchy could be along these lines, for example ...
    Section 1 - National Brands
    What are National Brands?
Why Are They Important to Our Business?
    Working with Nat. Brands
    Practice Your Knowledge
    Section 2 - International Brands
    What are International Brands?
Why Are They Important to Our Business?
    Working with Intl. Brands
    Practice Your Knowledge
You'd like to organize the ToC to show only the section titles (1st level) and to suppress the 2nd-level detail (slide titles) until the learner chooses to expand the folder to see those details.
I've tried things like grouping the slides into sections in the Storyboard view and organizing the slides into sections strictly within the ToC -- both to no avail.
Has anyone solved for this need yet?
I'm all ears, and you'd be doing learners of the world a huge favor.
    Thanks!

    Hi, Jim.
Thanks for being 'on the case' and looking into this so quickly.  Your
findings are encouraging, although my user base is generally working with
    IE 6 and FP8 or 9.
Since the only thing I may influence is getting  IT to help push out FP10,
    I'm hoping it's more of a player- than a browser-version issue.
I'll test things out by Monday and let you know the results.  Wish me luck!

    Dave,
I just tested this on my local web server and it worked fine.  I created a
blank project with 8 slides.  Created my TOC with grouping... 2 slides in
each group.  I turned on self paced learning.  I tried with and without the
widget and it picked up where I left off in either case.  See
    https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B86WuEq6SVwRNWIwMjhjODctMjE2Yy00MWE2LWI5YzEtMGQxYzNjOWQ0Z mI2&hl=en.
I published using FP10 and IE8 to view.  Notice any difference between
    your project and this one?
    Thanks,

  • How to make the report shows only top level steps

    HI,
I use many subsequences in my tests.  I have no interest to see them in the report.  How can I force the report to show only top level steps?
    Thanks
    Rafi

I needed to prevent 'Skipped' steps from appearing in my reports.  One way to do this is to override the SequenceFilePostResultListEntry callback in the model.  You do this by clicking on Edit and then Sequence File Callbacks and then find SequenceFilePostResultListEntry in the list and click the Add button.
Edit your new callback in your sequence file to check for a pre-condition.  In my case I checked for Parameters.Result.Status == "Skipped" since that parameter is set to Skipped, Done, etc. based on the result.
If the condition was true then my only step in the callback was to set Parameters.DiscardResults = True.  The TestStand model will then throw that result away when it processes the report.  You could add a step for every type of data you wish to discard.
A second method that is easier to implement, but time consuming, is to select each step you DON'T want in your report and bring up the Properties for that step.  Under the Run Options tab, deselect the Record Results box.  That will keep the results of that step out of the report, but you have to do this for EVERY step you don't want to have reported.  The first approach I provided acts to filter the results.
If you aren't sure what the Parameters.Result.Status will be, then set a breakpoint after that step is executed and scan the parameters when the sequence is halted there.  You can then detect the actual text used as a result for that step, such as "Done" and can set your pre-condition appropriately.

  • Modify Chart Legend Data Behaviour to show only lowest level of drill

I have a chart with a legend in OBIEE 11g.
When I click on chart data or legend it drills to the next level of the hierarchy which is what I want.
However the legend show all levels of the hierarchy in the legend data like this:
    "Level 1"."Level 2"."Level 3".
This is very cluttered and redundant as Level 1 & Level 2 are the same for all items.
What I want is that it only shows the lowest level of a hierarchy that has been drilled to eg.
    "Level 3"
Is it possible to do this? I've already tried the user guide, on this forum or on google search.
    Thanks in advance.

Not sure its doable out the box,
You could hack the popchart JS files I guess, John Minkjan's blog describes some changes , in particular on mouse-hover activity but they should show where to start.

  • Hierarchy authorization details show only last level

    Hi,
I am facing on a hierarchy problem displayed on the Bex: The hierarchy has 9 levels, e.g. the organisation structure of the company from level 1 to level 9.
I made from the transaction RSSM :
Authorization from the hierarchy i entered for each level from 1 to 9 :
Type of authorisation : 1 (subtree below node)
    Hierarchy level       : blank
    Validity period       : blank
Node variable default value : blank
I made from the transaction PFCG :
Created a role for the user with the authorization :
Sap Business information warehouse - reporting (RSR)
    value : 8055 (company code)
Unique ID for authorization : level_3
I need to authorize the user to execute a querry of his level (exemple level 3) and all the level below him (to the 9th level)
When the query is generated,(the query is using a variable hierarchy ) I get the lowest level displayed and shows only 2 key figures and values.
    Any ideas ?
    You assistance will be appreciated.

    Hi,
How to get only the last level in Oracle SQL Hierarchy Query?Depending on your requirements:
    WHERE   CONNECT_BY_ISLEAF  = 1
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only), and also post the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
If you can show what you want to do using commonly available tables (such as scott.emp, which contains a hierarchy), then you don't need to post any sample data; just the results and the explanation.
Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0). This is always important, but especially so with CONNECT BY queries, because every version since Oracle 7 has had significant improvements in this area.

  • Show only specific columns

    hello,
    using obiee 11g
I have a requirement like this
I have 2 prompts, begin date and close date as prompts,Depending upon the date selected i want to show or hide the column.
By default i made the prompts to show current date and current_date-365
And also the column header and the data shows properly for the column.
My only problem is if i select the date as
01/01/2011 to 30/07/2011 it should show only 7 months data so should show only 7 columns and hide rest 5 columns.
Its showing from jan to Dec and I want it to show only jan to july?
Is this possible is my question?
    Thanks

    Hello Deepak,
    Went through the Article,
I created a filter report which has 2 columns and 1 row->Start And End Date.
    More info on my req--->
Actually my data is in column wise and not row wise,i.e. my columns are dynamic, headings are start date as col1 and .....and show start date+12 as the last column.
I have 12 columns in the main report whose header i am taking from the prompt values because i want the header to be dynamic depending upon the date selected.
So in that prompt i have 12 variables for each 1 headings. So first variable will have the value like startdate prompt and then next variable will have startdate+1.
In the column formula for each column i am using a filter function to filter the measure column depending
the month and year of the table.date
    is equal to
the month and year of the start date prompt.
So in the main report if i add a filter based on another request, since i have the data as column, no effect its showing.
    Thanks

  • Why SharePoint 2013 have only 2 level global navigation ??

I just want to know why SharePoint 2013 have 2 levels of global navigation hierarchy by default. Is it possible to make it up to 3,4 levels.
    For example:
Main Site -> Subsite -> Subsite Nodes -> Subsite Nodes Subsite -> Child Nodes & so on
    Something like above hierarchy.
Thanks in advance for your answers..!!

Yes, you can absolutely have more than 2 levels of navigation. You will need to update your master page through to allow for more dynamic levels of navigation.
You might find the following thread helpful.
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/05cfb854-9a18-4f61-a9f4-55d9cd3130ec/create-multilevel-global-navigation-menu-in-sharepoint
Also be aware that there was a bug in SP2013 where only two levels of navigation would ever show. This was fixed last year.

  • Web part created on a subsite for a sharepoint list in another site using sharepoint designer, to show only the subsite's reports. Connection dropping off and showing all the reports

I crated web parts in the sub-sites (we have about 10 subsites) using sharepoint designer from a main list in another site.  Then used web part to show only the  ubsite's reports - using connection to the main list.  Problem is, the connection
is dropping off and showing all the reports on the main list that are confidential.  this has happened 3 time lately.  Could someone explain why it happens some times?  I had to fix it by adding the web part again and connecting it
    Thanks, Subathy.

    Hi George,
If you want to use a top level site "department" list column in all sub-sites, you can go to top level site and create a
lookup type "Site column" to look up the value from the department list, then all sub-sites can use this lookup type site column created in top level site.

  • WebHelp not displaying content in left nav pane

Any suggestions for why WebHelp is not displaying contents in
the left navigation pane? When Help is called, it displays the
frame (including buttons such as glossary, search, contents, etc)
and the work area, but does not show the TOC in the left navigation
    pane.
I have also tried generating FlashHelp, with the same
results. This time, only the work area displays. Any suggestions to
    fix this?
This is a new project, where RoboHelp is being deployed for
the first time. Any suggestions for making this a simpler
transition would be much appreciated. I have used RoboHelp for many
years with a different company and do not recall ever running into
    this many problems.
    Help!

Sorry, I haven't used the CSH method which, by the way, was
designed to show only the topic at first, I think.
I give my developers a list of path/filenames for topics, and
    they use this form:
    .../helpdirectory/myproject.htm#targettopic.htm
There are some shortcomings to this method, which leaves the
window open and, when you call another topic, another new window
opens. In other words, you have to close the help window manually
    to avoid windowmania.
A solution is a little js that checks to see if a window is
already open, closes it and opens a new one. (If no help window is
open, it's a harmless js error.) It's fast enough that you wouldn't
    notice.
The downside here is losing the browser history. Forward and
back buttons work only so long as the help window stays open.
In my opinion, this is not a major concern, since many Web
based applications these days tell users not to use the back
button. Production users won't mind so much.
For ordinary people doing e-shopping and online banking, the
    browser back button is anathema.
The bottom line is, if you have a decent set of navigating
options built into the design -- TOCs, left or right rail lists,
useful links at top and/or bottom of the topic page, the back
    button can become superfluous.
Browe sequences work fine from any point in the lineup (I
know, it's not the same as browser history -- unless you give them
a really useful set of sequences).
The forever-loading left pane is gone in RH 7.
    Hope this is useful.

No I think the problem is more basic than that...he's trying to use an ATi card and an Nvidia card simultaneously.  Something that I don't think will work.
It also dependent on what drivers he is trying to use, as the (new) Nvidia proprietary driver only supports GeForce4 series chips and up...and the OP has an even older card than that.  The legacy Nvidia-96.xx driver does support his chipset, but 96.xx does not work with Xorg1.8 last I knew. see: http://www.archlinux.org/news/502/
Twinview does not exist in the Nouveau drivers, so one has to use xrandr: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Nouveau

  • Any std report in Capacity Planning showing only dispatched orders/opns ?

    Hi CRP gurus:
Does SAP has any standard report/transaction in Capacity Planning that shows (or has a selection for showing) only "dispatched" orders/opns ?
    - Chetan

    Chetan,
Use transaction COOIS. In this choose Operations, System status as DSPT at operation level, enter plant and execute. You will get only orders and the operations which are dispatched in this plant.
You can navigate to the capacity planning table from the selected records through order change.
Hope this is ok with you,...reward points..and close.

  • Imported clips pane shows old clips?

When I create a new project in iMovie '11, a nice blank area shows up in the project pane of the interface. Then I choose File > Import > Movies and import a new clip.
However, the lower right pane, where it shows my imported clips, continues to show clips from my last project. This is confusing and adds clutter, as i don't wish to use any of the clips from my last project.
What's more, when I click Last Import in the Event Library section, the imported clips pane still does not show only the clip I just imported, but it continues to show clips from my last project.
How do I clear the lower right pane so it shows only clips I have imported for my newest project?

When you import clips they go in to the currently open event.  Create a new event (which will be empty), give it a descriptive name and then import into that.

  • Just save a pdf file without nav pan

why can't I save my pdf file with the nav pane showing

    Hi francesw,
What version of Acrobat are you using? And are you referring to the Navigation pane on the left, or the Tools Panel on the right? In either case, you can choose to show or  hide these items by choosing View > Show/Hide >.
    Best,
    Sara
