Navigating the support site

Can anyone tell me why the support site is so darned hard to find
things on?
I have been a Novell user for over 10 years. At one time, I was able
to search for products, TIDS, and software with fast results and able
to find what I was looking for.
I am currently looking for the most up to date Imaging CD as has been
recommended in the posts. Now, I may not be the most knowledgeable
Linux guy on the planet - far from it - but I can't see that I'm a
total idiot. What does it take to locate this CD?
I went onto the support.novell.com site. I logged in with my
userid/password. I then went to the search. I searched for Bootcd,
imaging CD, left the search term blank after selecting Zenworks 7 SP1
IR2. I can't seem to find this boot CD anywhere.
I would really like to find this so I can figure out how to get past
this imaging on new hardware. From the posts, I believe I need to
integrate the newest .ko object file from Intel. However, I have no
way to find out!
Any suggestions on how to get around the site, or the actual url for
the imaging boot CD ISO would be greatly appreciated.
I am currently running ZfD7SP1IR2 on Netware.

CPKs are part if ZENworks Server Management - compiled Server Software Packages http://www.novell.com/documentation/...a/acwmjjm.html
The beauty is that they contain the files and the logic needed to deploy them.
They can be distributed with ZSM, or manually applied using a standalone processor.
What's useful with CPKs for large installations is that the files can be copied to the remote server, then launched from a remote location. With the winsetup method of applying Zen patches, you need to run the whole thing across the wire, or remote control a machine.
One customer upgraded from ZDM7 to ZDM7SP1 on hundreds of servers in one night.

    It has the new keyboard 4.0 command for Panorama, but I didn't verify that list is as complete as I know the keyboard shortcuts - but a quick glance looks like it is.

    This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

    I also had issues opening AVCHD files on case-sensitive filesystems.
    You can try these steps to solve the issue:
    Right click on the AVCHD file and select 'Show Package Contents'
    Right click on the BDMV file and select 'Show Package Contents'
    Rename index.bdm to INDEX.BDM (it seems that all files in the BDMV folder should be in UPPERCASE for Quicktime to open the AVCHD file).
    Go back twice and try again to double-click on the AVCHD file (Quicktime should open a window showing the multiple clips, as expected).

    You will have to close firefox.exe with the Windows Task Manager from the "Processes" tab of the WTM since you don't have a widow to close.
    The best way to close Firefox is through File > Exit, for those who stuck with the "Firefox" button click on the Firefox button then Exit. It is not perfect but it is a lot better than just closing the window with the "X" in the upper right corner

  • I keep getting Exit Code 15 - already went through solution 1 and 2 of the support sites

    I am on MAC OS 10.8.4, MBP 2012 17", 16 GB RAM
    I try to install remaining Apps of CC:
    Premiere Pro
    Dreamweaver
    Edge Animate
    Exchange Panel
    Extend Script
    Extension Manager
    Flash Builder
    Prelude
    SpeedGrade
    Touch App
    I get Exit Code 15 everywhere with "0 fatal Errors and 0 Errors" except Premiere where it is "0 fatal Errors and 1 Error".
    Tried Solution 1 with fixing accessrights on HDD and reinstalling - still same issue.
    Tried Solution 2 with plist editing - get an Error in terminal while cleaning entries "No such file or directory"
    So how should I fix this? Reinstalling OS is not an option.

  • Where is Rescue and Recovery 4.50 for Windows 7 and why was it removed from the support site?

    When Rescue and Recovery 4.51 was released a few weeks ago, all references to the previous version were replaced. Unfortunately, the new release is not supported on the R series machines nor on the earlier T series machines, so for those machines, the only version of Rescue and Recovery for Windows 7 that is available is version 4.30.0027 which was released in September 2009.
    This makes no sense.
    Please re-instate the documentation and download links for Rescue and Recovery 4.50 for all machines which were supported on that release but are not on version 4.51.

    The R61 and the R500 that I own, that are currently running Windows XP are staying there until Microsoft stops supporting Windows XP, at which point I will decide what to do with them, so trying 4.51 on them is not currently an option.
    As an IT professional, I tend to be the support guy for all the Lenovo computers in my family. My son also has an R500, which was purchased used, and it came with Windows 7. When I set it up for him, I installed Rescue and Recovery 4.5 over 4.3 before taking the original full system image backups.  He would loose the capability to use those backups if I were to try to downgrade that machine to Rescue and recovery 4.3. My own R500 came with Rescue and Recovery 4.30.0025, (for which there is no documentation nor download links available, to my knowledge), and I have never upgraded it, because I am concerned that all my backups would become unreadable if I did. I don’t think it is worth the effort to make all the external bootable backups that upgrading the software would require. I would upgrade if I was assured that version 4.30.0027 could read the backups taken by version 4.30.0025.
    There were 2 more versions of Rescue and Recovery. There was version 4.31.007 released on 2010/09/28 and version 4.31.011 released on 2011/03/04. The document ID’s for release 4.51 are the same as those for the 4.31 releases, so I should assume that Lenovo considers the 4.31 releases a major advance over the 4.30 release, and thus not a valid fallback option but why not?

  • My iphone will not show in itunes but does in my computer, I have tried everything on the support site that it says it is also the same for my ipad, any ideas i am at my wits end

    I have tried everything re-installing itunes, changing leads, checking device manager and drivers, my computer recognises the iphone and does import photos, but no music.
    I am getting really frustrated with this issue.

  • Navigating the support communities is difficult

    Am I overthinking things?
    For example, I want to read various threads about the iPhone 6 Plus. I navigate to that specific community and read the first thread that interests me. Now, I want to go back to the 6 Plus community and read more threads but I have no option to do so from the current thread I'm in. Instead I have to go back to the root level of the iPhone Hardware community and then click to scroll over until I can select the iPhone Plus community. Clicking back does no good either.
    I also would like a quick way to read the first unread message in a thread, is that possible?

    7) Create a new window for reading my favorite discussions.  I've made FireFox bookmarks for all these.  I've setup firefox to share bookmarks to all my computers.

    Hi, When I ordered on Dec. 2007 the Recovery Disk for my Lenovo 3000 J115 desktop had to call 1-800-426-7378. Don’t remember the prompts, but found a rep that transferred me to what appeared to be the right department. May want to make sure you specify that it is for a Desktop or you’ll get bounced around to other departments, like I did. I gave the 1st rep all my info including model #, name, address, serial code, etc…, to place order, then at the end he asked if it was laptop and I said no and he had to transfer me to the desktop department & I had to start all over with the order.  Would like to have been able to order it online, but that option did not appear to be available. It was out of warranty when I purchased it so it cost around $60 with shipping.
    Now on a related note, my chance to vent about the 1st time I tried to order the recovery disk. 1st a little background info. Purchased my Lenovo 3000 J115 Nov. 2006. It was installed with Windows XP and had a voucher to purchase Vista upgrade, when Vista was released, which I did. Vista arrived around Feb. 2007, & I promptly installed it. So far so good. March 2007 purchased music equipment specifically Digidesign hardware with Pro Tools software to use with my new Lenovo computer.  I know comp. may not be built for that, but I’m just getting into music software editing. Unfortunately Pro Tools software was not compatible with Vista, no problem I thought, I’ll just Call Lenovo & order recovery disk with the original operating system which was Windows XP.  Here’s where the fun begins (sarcasm).  March 2007 I call Lenovo to order recovery disk. I called a 1-800 # I found online, at that time there was no clear way to find the # to order disk & it’s a different number than the one I’ve provided at the top. I was transferred multiple times having to explain to each rep that I wanted to order a recovery disk, only to be told I have the wrong department & get transferred to yet another dept. Finally was transferred to a rep who appeared to be able to help me. I explained to him I wanted to buy recovery disk to DOWNGRADE back to my original pre-installed operating system Windows XP because I have purchased software that is not compatible with Vista.  At first rep said he would be glad to help me with that, and then asked to put me on hold to check with his Supervisor. Well when he came back he told me I could not order recovery disk to downgrade, because downgrading was discouraged or not allowed. So I said OK no problem then I don’t want to downgrade, I just want to purchase recovery disk. He asked me why & I told him to reinstall operating system to original specs. He told me no, that I cannot purchase recovery disk. I told him once more that I would like to simply purchase the recovery disk and he said no then proceeded hang up on me.  Well I guess I used the magic words DOWNGRADE, when Vista was first released and many people were requesting downgrades because many software co’s. had not yet converted to Vista or were experiencing problems with it.  Needless to say I was discouraged with Lenovo Customer Care and didn’t want to experience that anguish again that I just continued to use Vista and was not able to use my music equipment with my Lenovo comp. I ended up ordering the recovery disk Dec. 2007, this time without the hassle. I’ve decided to purchase an Apple Mac for the music equip. and only use the Lenovo 3000 J115 for basic computing such as web surfing, emailing & word processing.
    Sorry for the long post & thanks for reminding me about the recovery disk, I had to share this bad experience with others who may have experienced similar issues. I consider myself an ideal customer, I rarely contact customer service, most problems I try to research & figure out or find answers to on forums, but I was very disappointed with Lenovo Customer Care after the experience of trying to simply purchase a recovery disk. I’ve worked customer service in the past and understand it’s a horrible job, & many customers’ make outrages requests, so I try to make it easy on reps. by 1st doing a little research & then asking realistic questions, but some reps are just plain idiots who don’t try to help customers, they only try to get you off the phone.

  • I have tried all the fixes in the "Managing the Flash Plugin" article on the support site, but am still unable to get the Flash bit to work for my favorite eMagazine, any thoughts?

    I have tried all the fixes on the managing the Flash plugin website (uninstalled, reinstalled, updated plug in, etc) but I am still not able to access my subscription on my favorite digital magazine. I can view it in Internet Explorer and I can play Flash games on Facebook, etc. So I am at a lost as to where to try next. With it being on the old tower PC and not my new zippy laptop it is difficult to play with troubleshooting and with all the addons installed by my family I'm not sure what to delete or try again.

    Did you post with the computer that gives problems or did you use another computer?
    Try to uninstall and reinstall Flash.

    Your above posted system details show multiple Java Console extensions.
    You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension as you do not need them to run Java applets.
