Navigating within an app...

How do I 'go back' a screen within an app?
For example, I downloaded 'GoodReader' for pdfs. I've loaded some into it, where they sit nicely in the list of PDF's. I touch one to check if it's the version I want, but then, I just want to go back to the list. But there's no 'backward arrow'. Only option seems to be to click the Home button, which only takes me back to the apps icons.
I know this is simple. But I checked the iPad 'Guide' and nothing speaks to this.

Well, I'm back again. Now I have the iPad guide open (which was a pdf from GoodReader), and all that happens if I tap it is it gets bigger. The instructions for using the 'Multitasking' bar don't seem to work for me. If I click Home to go back to the GoodReads Icon and touch it, hoping to in that way return to the GR Doc list, all it does is return me back to the iPad guide.
Earlier I was able to tap twice and bring back an arrow key up top I could tap to get back to the list of docs. But it's not working now. ?
I don't understand why the iPad guide doesn't give you touch/tap instructions for navigating within apps--only the basics of how to get Home, bigger, smaller, etc. This is most frustrating.
Help, anyone?

I have a question regarding navigation within a pop-up window.
The pop-up window is generated as below, the component usage is defined in the runtime repository for the main window.

Within the component, there are two views defined and assigned to that window. If the component is tested by itself navigation is possible in the usual manner using a navigational link, clicking the button calls the outbound plug, then the inbound plug then the bsp page and then the screen changes to show the new view, this uses the following code
CALL METHOD op_toamendrep( ).
Then in the outbound plug:-
me->view_manager->navigate( source_rep_view = me->rep_view
                              outbound_plug   = 'ToAmendRepresentative' ).
However when the same chain of events is actioned in the pop-up, the navigational link is called the plugs are called and the associated BSP code is run through in the debugger, but the actual screen in the pop-up window is still shows the first view, not the second as we would expect.
Can you please help me to resolve this issue?

I had the same issue and I found turning off safai extensions fixed the issue. Must be an extension that's causing this problem.

I have purchased a from within an app. I submit my password for the app, and then my Apple ID. I then get the following messages "Regrant failure _ please log in with the same user that has bought this app" and that is followed by "cant conn with IT _

I have purchased an item from within the app PocketBible on my iPad. However when I try to download it I am asked for my app User Name and Password and then my Apple ID and password. I give both of these. I then get a message which says Regrant failure - Please log in with the same user that has bought the app. That is then followed by Pocket Bible Alert - cannot connect to iTunes Store.
Anybody got any ideas, both what the 1st alert means and how I get round the problem please.

I had the same problem. My wife had the PocketBible on her Ipad 2 and she transferred ownership to me. I had to delete the app and reinstall it from the App store(logged in with my apple ID) and its working without a problem. I do not get those error messages when I attempt to Buy/Upgrade or Add/Remove books.

Have you tried a reset which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release?

I am no longer able to send emails from within iPad apps.

I always used to be able to send files with attachments by email from within iPad apps like Adobe Reader or Pages. Used to work but now it doesn't - and this for all apps all at once. It gets to the point where it has prepared the email, but if you press send, it says "Could not save or send message". It also doesn't matter which email account I use - result always the same. It's a real pain as this was a good way of editing a word file and then emailing it to myself.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.

How to restrict the ordering of apps from within an app

My grandkids somehow run up charges by ordering apps from within an app they are using usually games without even knowing they are doing it. How do I restrict them from doing it? And how do I get the charges to Itunes removed when this happens?

You can go into settings, and restrictions and turn off 'in app purchases'
You may also want to set your apple id from 'require after 15 minutes' to 'require immediately'
As to getting the charges reversed you can contact the app developer. Maybe they will reverse the charges, but they don't have to. The terms of sale are that all sales are final.

Shut down Windows 8.1 embedded from within an app

I am developing a windows 8.1 app with microsoft visual studio. The app shall run in an embedded box PC. From within this app I want to be able to completely shut down the computer. Is there some simple way of simulating or acessing windows/shut down function
inside my app? If so, how could I write this in visual studio?

Resetting my iPad didn't solve my problem with Bible 1 being kicked out when I tried opening the App. I was told to delete the App and re-install it, but won't that delete EVERYTHING I've done within the App? Like the highlights and the Notes?

The problem I'm having with my Bible +1 App wasn't solved by resetting my iPad. I was told to then delete the App and re-install it, but if I do that, won't that delete EVERYTHING within the App, like all the highlighting and Notes? And I'm sorry to say, I'm extremely technologically inept - only had this iPad since mid-April and the first piece of computer ANYTHING in well over 15 years with my son - and we never had the InterNet. The reason I'm telling this is, I'm not even sure HOW to re-install an App. Sorry.

If the app continually fails to run the delete and renown load might help. But yes, you will lose everything that you have done with the app unless there is some way to back up the info to your computer or another device.
You might also contact the developer of the app to see if they are aware of the problem and are working on fixing it. The developer info can normally be found in the information on the app provided in the App Store.

Whether the AIR app support create some formats of rich media (besides html5) and share to others within the app?

user can create animation content in some public or proprietary format
user can share the content to others within the app
HTML5 is a choice but not the best for performance reason

I think the real reason they choose INDesign is because it a first a layout tool. Which is what magazine's use for the content. They know the this is where the distribution sector is. You get the Magazine corporations to adopt it, then you add the Multimedia capabilities that provides these same corporations the ability to use their existing layouts as a base then build the interactivity from there.
My issue is that I can't be the only one who saw this need arising. A tool that incorporates layout, multimedia and publishing to various platforms which has power and ease of use is so badly needed. I am amazed that Apple did not partner with someone, especially Adobe to create a tool of this nature.
Creating great applications, apps, and multimedia documents in my opionion should not be developed only by those with great technical skill. Anyone who can conceive of an idea, has good knowledge of Adobe and Apple Professional tools should be able to easily create apps and multimedia documents. Yet no one has developed a good WYSIWG tool. You still need so much coding to get anything done.
All I can say is... the labs division said that September was the release date for the tools they used for the Wired App. So where are they?

I need to find out who or how many users are currently logged into my app from within the app itself and display it within a report for the app administrators. Any thoughts or ideas.

I am working on an app where different users need to buy in app content.
my question is, would it be allowed by apple that if 1 user buys lets say 100 credits worth of content that he can gift/share his 100credits to/with other existing users?
so can all users of the app use/share the total amount of content bought via in app purchased within the app ?
in other words, is it possible for me to buy credits which i can use in my app, to unlock functionality and then give this functionality (total or partially) to another user that has or has not purchased also ?

I haven't had any problems with the new iMac playing videos. So far, so good.
As for having the OS preinstalled and no discs in the box, I recently made a recovery disk, just in case I need to reinstall the OS, since there isn't an install app anywhere on the hard drive (at least that I can find). Now, in 27 years of owning Macs, I've never had to reinstall an OS (don't ask about my Windows machines, though!). But there could always be a first time, right? Best to be prepared, just in caes...
Also, I bought my iMac at Small Dog Electronics. I'm very happy with the price I got there, but *they* are the ones who told me I could also install the OS on my MacBook Pro--at no extra cost. When I called Apple I found out differently. So I've let Small Dog know that isn't correct and that they shouldn't be telling people that. I think the reason this happened is because my local store just opened in the past few months, and the employees there aren't as saavy and well-trained as Apple Store employees. This was my first experience not buying directly from Apple, but all in all it's been a good one.

I've not dealt with the app store, so I don't know how to address the problem from the standpoint of dealing with Apple; but, it appears that someone has hacked into your account and used up the money. I would immediately change my password (make it difficult!!) and then deal with the app store. Was this cash? If it was a credit card, I would call them immediately, tell them what Apple said, and file a complaint - you should be getting a credit for that amount.

Finder columns width are very wide within an app

I have searched for an answer but can't find it. Since using Mavericks when I open a finder window within an app to open a document, the finder window is way too large. The columns are very wide and fall on to my second display. If I adjust this (and I have tried with the ALT button as well) the next time the problem keeps coming back.
Any solutions?
