Navigation bar disappeared

Today I upgraded to Firefox 3.6.3 and it had a navigation bar. Now it's gone. No File, Edit, View, Help, Bookmarks, nothing.
== Operating system ==
Vista

'''Menu Bar''' (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help)
Press ALT V T M on your keyboard. This should restore the menu bar (Firefox 3.6)
'''Other toolbars'''
View|Toolbars|Select the desired Toolbar
'''Other steps to try'''
If you missing specific icons (ex. The back arrow,) try restoring the default set by going to View|Toolbars|Customize| Restore Default Set
'''Safe Mode'''
You May need to reset toolbars and controls via [[Safe Mode]]
Make sure you completely close Firefox first. When you get to the Safe Mode window, select Reset toolbars and controls and then Make Changes and Restart.
Hope this helps!
'''Navigation Toolbar'''
The Navigation toolbar consists of:
*The bar where you enter the address of a web page
* The home button. This button loads your home page
* The Refresh button. This reloads your current page
* The "X" button. This button stops loading the current page
*The back and forward buttons. This buttons allow you to navigate back and forth between your previously visited page
* The Search bar
If this Toolbar is missing, Go to View |Toolbars | Navigation Toolbar

  • When I open another Tab and type in a website address, after the site loads the URL in the navigation bar disappears. Why?

When I open a new tab and type in the website url, after the website loads the website url disappears. In order for me to get it to come back, I have to right click on the navigation bar and click undo. why is this?

Did this happen immediately after the reset or at a later time?
Does this only happen on a new tab?
What is the current setting for the new tab page as set via the browser.newtab.url pref?
You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar.

  • My navigation bar disappeared so now I cannot print, edit, etc. How can I get it back. The info on your page does not help.

I may have accidentally hidden the navigation bar i.e. the one that gives you options like File, Edit, etc. the info you provide for getting it back does not help because it asks me to use those tabs, which are not there anymore. This prevents me from printing, etc.

Use either the Alt or F10 keys to temporarily display the menu. Then in the View menu select Toolbars, then "Menu Bar" to make it permanently display the menu.

  • Table Navigation Bar disappears when blocksize equals maxValue

    (Env: JDev 903, uix 217)
Why decides the uix TableBean to NOT render my navigation bar when blockSize equals maxValue? In JDev902 this worked differently (navBar indeed appeared when blockSize equalled maxValue).
With the navBar not showing, the user is only able to see how many records the table contains by actually manually counting them of the screen.
    To clarify:
    Scenario: blockSize < maxValue
    1) user queries 20 records
    2) blockSize = 8, maxValue=20
    3) table shows 8 records, with navbar "1-8 of 20"
    4) user is happy
    Scenario: blockSize = maxValue
    1) user queries 20 records
    2) blockSize = 20 (for example set by a user pref), maxValue=20
    3) table shows 20 records, but NO navbar
    4) user is not happy

    Thanks for your reply.
    I can see their point.
Unfortunately your suggestion to set maxValue to -1/null does not really render the desired result: I am getting a navNar with an enabled "next <n>" button, where <n> equals the blockSize. However there are no <n> next records (as I am already showing them on the screen).
In my perfect world I would get a navbar with both the "previous" and "next" buttons disabled, and a poplist with one entry: "1-<n> of <n>".
Might I suggest to add a "toggle NavBar on/of switch" to the Table bean in the next uix release? Does that make sense?
    Thanks,
    Martijn

  • When opening a pdf in Firefox from a website, the navigation bar disappears. I would like to copy the URL path to send to staff.

Using Acrobat Pro XI, Windows 7-64, Firefox 25. If I open a PDF from a website link in IE, the PDF opens and I can see the URL path where I can copy it and send to others. Opening the same link in Firefox does not show the URL path. I get the File, Edit menu but no URL.

Is the PDF opening in a separate (popup) window? Sites can alter which bars appear on a popup window, but the address bar should always be visible (that's the default setting). Could you check and make sure that hasn't changed?
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''window_o''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) If the '''dom.disable_window_open_feature.<u>location</u>''' preference is bolded and "user set" to false, double-click it to switch it back to true so sites are disabled from hiding the location (address) bar on popup windows.

  • No navigation bar when publish to FTP

Hi there, when I publish my website via FTP, the navigation bar disappears so I am only able to view and navigate to the root URL or home page. Check out what I mean at: jaimejacobsenmedia.com (Under "Jaime Jacobsen Media", it should say "HOME ABOUT FILMS RADIO PHOTOS CONTACT)
Any ideas on how to fix this so all pages are published and show up in the navigation bar up top?
    Thanks!

Normally, when this happens, it means that not all your files have been uploaded to your server.
You actually need to be able to see what has been uploaded to your server and what has not and you can't do this if you use iWeb ftp. From iWeb, publish your site to a local folder and download a copy of Cyberduck for free and if you connect to your server using this, then you can see exactly what files are on your server and what are not.
Also check that your image is not covering your navigation menu, which it can easily do and it is close. It only takes a tiny little overlap of the boxes on the page and either your navigation menu will not show up or will not work.
Check both of these. If it is your graphic that is covering then you will have to move it.

  • Suddenly, my custom url buttons disappeared from the navigation bar and I can no longer add new ones. FF22

I am using Firefox 22 (I like its features and do not want the features added in later version.) I have added a handful of custom URL buttons to the navigation bar that allow me to go instantly to websites I visit frequently. There was/is a function in Firefox for adding such buttons. This morning, after leaving my computer on all night, I found that the custom buttons had disappeared and I could no longer find the function for adding new ones. Can you tell me what has happened and how I can add custom URL buttons? I will appreciate your help. Thank you.

I solved my own problem. This function was added by Google Shortcuts, which somehow became disabled. After fussing ariound for a few minutes. I was able to restore it.

  • When I select Toolbar-Customize and the options box opens, the Navigation Bar icons disappear.

Two questions: 1) When I select Toolbar, then Customize, the box with the toolbar options opens, but my Navigation bar icons disappear, so I can't add the spaces, bars, etc. to it. How do I fix that? 2) I can reposition the icons in the Navigation bar without being in Customize, with the exception of the Search Address box. How do I reposition the Search Address box? Thanks.

Opening in the Sidebar is the default action for bookmarks that are created via a "Bookmark this Page" link or button on a website. Make sure you use the many "Bookmark this Page" methods that are in Firefox instead.
Right-click those bookmarks and select '''Properties''', then un-check the preference for '''Load this bookmark in the sidebar''', and then click Save.

  • Photos disappear when I don't use the navigation bar

I read that it's better to create your own links instead of using the iWeb navigation bar, if you want your site to be indexed by Google. I did so and everything worked well on my computer (iWeb and in the saved folder). When I published the site, however, the photos on my photo page had all disappeared.
Does anyone know what might have happened?

Thanks for your help. It's good to know where to look when things go wrong.
I completely removed the new nav bar from the site and put back the standard one, so I'm not sure. When the site was uploading, however, I think I saw the image files being uploaded.
Now I'm trying to work with the nav bar on the left hand side of the page and with new buttons, and in the trial version the foto's magically appeared...

  • Safari gray navigation bars won't disappear after 1.1.1 upgrade

Those lite gray navigation bars on the top and bottom of Safari will not disappear once a web page is loaded. They used to pre 1.1.1 upgrade. Anyone else experiance this?

If you mean the navigation bars, I believe they never disappeared before the update.

  • Just upgraded  iWeb app to version 3.0.4 from an iLife 11 disk. I like some of the newer features but it seems to have one glitch: when I upload the pages to my ftp server, the automatic navigation bar at the top of the page disappears. Any ideas?

Just upgraded my old iWeb app to version 3.0.4 from an iLife 11 disk. I like some of the newer features but it seems to have one glitch: when I upload the pages to my ftp server, the automatic navigation bar at the top of the page disappears. Any ideas? Thanks.

Looks like a couple scripts are missing:
If you republish the entire site iWeb should recreate these for you...
I don't use the built-in navigation. I usually just create my own:

  • Navigation bar suggestion/autocomplete history dropdown disappears

The drop-down history suggestion bar disappears, especially when the browser's been open for a while, ie., I'll type "m" in the address bar, but "mozilla.org" (or any other site from my history) won't show up underneath - meaning I have to either type in the full address or go to a bookmark. This happens with the search box, too - if I type something in, it won't give me suggestions from past searches. Restarting always fixes it, but it's getting annoying. Running Firefox 3.6.10 on Ubuntu 10.04

Updating to a newer version may easily mess the toolbar configuration. You are suggested launching Firefox [[Safe Mode]], and select “reset all the buttons from toolbar” then click restart Firefox. (I don't know what is exactly called in English version). And then, you will see all the buttons are restored to default settings. You may now re-drag-and-drop all buttons including your disappeared buttons in customize.

  • Spry Menu Bar disappears absolute position

Hello all this is my first time posting on this site so bear with me. I have a semi-transperant spry menu bar that i inserted into the header div, over an image. I moved the menu bar -38px, when the position is set to relative the menu bar is visible, however the old position of the menu bar has a blank white space there. I think this is due to the relative position property. When i change it to absolute the whole menu bar disappears? http://www.brightlikethesun.com/index2.html (the position is back to relative to show the menu bar and also background for header is blue to show the space)

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
    2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
    3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
    4) If you prefer your nav on the right instead of the left, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all right instead of all left) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.

<p><img src="BLTS2.jpg" alt="BLTS" width="411" height="297" align="left" /><img src="BLTS font.jpg" width="340" /> is a Post-Rock band from San Antonio. They were born in early 2012 from the collective desire to make beautiful, thought provoking, and at times, chaotic music. Much like fellow Texan bands like Explosions in the Sky and This Will Destroy You, they are entirely instrumental, and known for creating progressively intricate waves of ambiance that grow with intensity and an unabashed wash of emotion. Attuned to their affinity for dynamics, seeing them live takes the listener from deafening walls of orchestrated sound, to melodies so subtle that one finds themselves acutely aware of their own breathing. <br />
Bright Like The Sun&rsquo;s debut album, Coda Fin, was engineered/mixed by Alex Bhore (of This Will Destroy You), and mastered by TW Walsh (of Pedro The Lion). The record, which was self released, was made available on April 12, 2013.<br /><br /><img src="BLTS3.jpg" width="330" height="245" align="right" /></p>

    What I see:
You need a width on the ul.MenuBarVertical style. Make it the same width as the ul.MenuBarVertical li selector.
Remove the float: none; from this style:
    ul.MenuBarVertical ul li
         width: 12em;
         float: none;
No such measurement as a half a pixel:
    ul.MenuBarVertical ul
         border: .5px solid #CCC;
If you want a border, 1px is minimum...you repeat this incorrect half-pixel in several places.
Running your page through the W3C Validator returned this: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.healthydirections.ca%2F&charset=%28dete ct+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
Your initial errors are not declaring a DOCTYPE, which among other things, does not provide the browser with any information regarding how you want the code interpreted for your viewer. Some browsers guess well, some do not (IE).
    This
         <html>
    is insufficient.
Apply this in its place, and run through the validator again.

  • Nav Bar disappears in live view and in all browsers

    Hello all,
I have an issue I haven't had before. I created a navigation bar right under the header.  After adding my text for the links, I checked in all browsers and each time, the nav bar disappeared, leaving me with just the words. Also the font changed back to the page default. I solved the font problem by creating images using the font I want and now I get them all to show up, but the nav bar is still missing even though it is always there in Design View. Here is my code so far. The CSS is below the HTML.
    HTML Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

  • Indesign cs6 menu and tool bar disappear between windows using mission control in mountain lion

heres 2  screen grabs before and after. while navigating between 'spaces' using mission control in mountain lion. issue -  the menu and tools bars disappear - not all of them just parts of them. to get back i hit 'tab' button twice which hides and shows tools. very annoying - does anyone know of a fix or is this another bug which i have to live with. im using a macpro june 2012/running 10.8.4 and 2 screens - left for artboard - right for all tool windows.

thanks steve - yes that works as does using the tab key - all well....until i move to another 'space' and then come back again.
for example: my setup is like this - no2 space has indesign project. no3 space has photoshop. so im working on a page within indesign and i need to edit an image- i double click the pic and it opens in photoshop on the other 'space' save the file and go back to indesign to update pic and find menu/tools all over the place - so hit tab twice back to normal -  until i 'move' out of that space into another - photoshop/ mail/ whatever - as i toggle between spaces the indesign menu will always be 'corrupt' for a better word. hope that makes sense.
