Navigation bar links not working

With your much appreciated help I've constructed a Navigation
bar!
But although I have entered the links in the property
inspector (and the
fireworks/ dreamweaver documents that the Nav bar is in and
the dreamweaver
link documents are in the same folder/site), the links are
not working.

Thanks in advance! wrote:

Post a URL to the page.

  • Please see my site about Navigation Bar Links not working

    Greetings,
    I have an urgent issue with www.ForexProFund.com and it's navigation bar links. For some reason only some of the links work in the navigation bar. I have tried and recreated new pages and moved all the content over to the new pages with no luck. I moved the nav bar to the most "forward" position and pushed everything else to the back so it's on the top for sure. You can see that on the "contact" page, the navigation bar does not work, and I have no idea why...it's the same on the "Open Account" page.
    I really need this fixed, as I am sure many of you do.
    Thanks in advance for any input or ideas.

    Hi there,
    Can you tell me how to "reduce" these things? I am not sure why some links in the nav bar and others do not...maybe I am doing something wrong? Very frustrating since Mac. does not let you simply setup a nav bar....it all has to be template based and then these types of things happen. Either way, if you have details of how to remedy this, please let me know. I tried to remove the line under the nav bar on the first two pages and still no luck.
    Thank you!

  • IWeb 08, Publish Videos, Navigation Bar link stops working.  Why?

    In iWeb, I am building a site with that includes two movie pages, each has a video (QT H.264, 640x280, medium quality). One movie per page. When I publish to a folder, I test both with Safari and Firefox. Each displays the same problem. When I click on the navigation bar link and go to the first video, the navigation bar ceases to work after I'm on the movie page. I can play the video, but I have to browser back because the navigation bar doesn't highlight, rollover, or anything. Both browsers exhibit this. Thanks.

    Make sure you don't have any other objects overlapping the navbar.

  • My links on my navigation bar are not working. HELP PLEASE!

    Hi, I am making a website for my AS IT course and need your help. Before i explain my problem, i am using dreamweaver 8.
    I made a drop down navigation bar using coding and CSS. At the moment, I have linked three pages. The first page being Home at the start, the second bar is called 'The Players' and i have linked that and they both work right. However, 'the players' has two drop down menus called PDC and BDO, i have linked my page to PDC through the code. However, i can only click onto this page and it will only direct me tot hat page if i click it straight from my template. If i click onto my home page or players then click onto PDC, it will not take me there. However, if i am on the players and click onto another page, it will take me there.
    I did all this on my template.
    Thanks.

    This is my code of my template, sorry it's long but its the PDC button I am having trouble with.

  • Navigation bar does not work properly in CS3

    The navigation bar shows only the up and the over pictures in
    all browsers. It works properly in a framed site, showing all 4
    different pictures. But not in the css-layout based site with files
    from the same template, which show all in the same window. Does
    anyone know where this problem comes from?

    > Why not use frames again?
    This question is answered in detail several times a day here,
    but here's the
    executive summary -
    1. They are difficult for inexperienced users to get right -
    a) pages will not align properly if one of them throws
    scrollbars
    b) links will not work when targeted into different frames
    without
    hand-modification of code
    c) new (and inexperienced users) have problems with the idea
    of a single
    frameset page that only specifies constituent frames
    d) new (and inexperienced users) can be confused by the fact
    that the
    <title> tag on the frameset page is the one that
    appears in the browser
    e) etc., etc., etc.
    2. They are difficult for your visitors
    a) depending on how savvy you are, you may have removed
    scrollbars to
    'fix' #1b, not thinking that you have also removed those
    scrollbars for
    people with smaller viewports
    b) search engines will index *all* pages within your
    frameset, meaning
    that a navigation frame or a content only page MAY be shown
    in a search hit
    list - imagine the confusion when the page is loaded without
    navigation, for
    example
    And - they are so amateur. Really.
    > it doesn't
    > matter if I use javascript or CSS rollovers, only up and
    over will work
    > with
    > refreshed pages.
    With js rollovers it's only *easy* to achieve the up and the
    over states.
    With CSS rollovers, you can achieve up, over, over while
    down, and down.
    > Lots of the CS3 manual obviously refers to those
    > "oldfashened" stuff.
    Much of this has been removed in CS4.
    > The paid diva comes in to do the job down and over by
    down in
    > both cases.
    The DivaHTML extension is a good deal. It is just a CSS
    rollover with an
    'easy' user interface.

  • Navigation menu links not working

    I just published a site with iWeb and the navigation menu links are not working. They appear to be active when I mouseover them in iWeb, but but neither the mouseover effects nor the links themselves are working on the published site in Safari.

    Finally solved the problem.
    The title of the webpage had a clickable link right above the navigation bar. Once I removed that the navigation bar started working.
    I'd guess that the webpage title was "infront" of the clickable navigation bar.

  • Some navigation bar links have suddenly stopped working

    I have been producing a site in iWeb '09 for some time, with no problems. It is hosted by MobileMe.
    I use a custom-built navigation bar that is saved as a test page and duplicated as and when I need a new page. There have been no problems at all until suddenly the links on the navigation bar on one page (Blogs) ceased to work. At this point nothing had been modified at all. All the other links on the page work perfectly.
    Naturally I checked to see if a) here was something masking the links or b) if, for some reason, the link-enabled text boxes had been moved Backwards. They hadn't. The links on my test page are still working, as are all the other navigation bar links on the site.
    As I was planning to stop the use of comments on the Blogs page, I created a new page, using the White Blogs template, but without the ability to comment. I recreated the content and used the same working navigation bar as before, copied and pasted into place. All the navigation bar links work perfectly in iWeb '09 but once again, fail to work when published. The other links on the new page work perfectly.
    Main site is: http://www.midsomernortonplatoonacf.org.uk.
    Click on the Blogs link to see what I mean. Now try the following URL: http://www.midsomernortonplatoonacf.org.uk/MidsomerNortonPlatoon/TESTPAGE.html that will take you to the hidden test page. Click on the Reports link, that works perfectly, to go to my newly created, comment-less, "Blog" page - same problem!
    Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

    Dirtyrobot,
    Ah ha! A cunning plan, but I'm sorry to say that, whilst it's a great idea, I'm one step ahead of you. I've done the usual Cmd+A to reveal everything, but there is nothing extra. I've brought all the text boxes with the links to the front as you suggested, but again nothing.
    The only thing that I did notice, whilst moving the entire contents of the page up and down, was that there was a hidden line near the top of the page - not an actual physical line that could be selected, but a sort of 'edge of code area' that was sometimes visible, BUT only when moving a block up or down over it. Neither changing Footers and Headers nor the Padding makes any difference. There is obviously something in the page code that I can't access using any of the tools in the page layout or format boxes in the Inspector. The fact that it HAS worked before, with absolutely NO changes to the page, is what has got me hacked off! The identical Nav Bar works on every other page, being merely copied and pasted from my master test page each time.
    Curious...

  • Navigation Bar - links

    I have an application with a button in the navigation bar which opens an URL. In this URL are a number of (3 or 4) user preference values which are derived from tables held within the database.
    Currently I am running an "On Create Session" application process which loads up some hidden fields on page 1 of the app. These are then referenced by a javascript function to link to the dynamically created URL. Within this js function I am using a html_GetElement('P1_PARAM').value to build up the URL string and this works just fine... for page 1.
    I don't want to load up hidden fields on every page to allow the Navigation Bar buttons to work from each page so I guess application level items would be the practical objects to use here.
    The problem I am having then lies in the fact that the application items are not rendered in the html and so therefore are not going to be seen by the html_GetElement() function.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction here.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
    I think that the value of any Application Item is rendered.
    1. If you check the session state that item is not shown, but is there.
    I set Page region/Title to “Name   F111_TEST” and it’s there
    2. If you use Debug can see that the value of the Application Item “0.20: ...F111_TEST session state saving same value: Hello Konsta”.
    3. Define an Application Item and do Application Computation on Before Regions for instance. Set Static Assignment 20 for instance. The VAT in Bulgaria is fixed to 20%.
    4. In Page Attributes/HTML Header:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    function sumVAT(){
    function getVal(item){
    if(document.getElementById(item).value != "")
    return parseFloat(document.getElementById(item).value);
    else
    return 0;
    document.getElementById('P306_VAT').value =
    getVal('P306_SALES_PRICE') * &F101_TEST. / 100;
    //-->
    </script>
    5. You probably have tried getVal(' F101_TEST ') instate &F101_TEST.
    The example above shows that Application Items are rendered and one could use them in JavaScript. I will be happy if you send a complete solution for Navigation bar.
    Good luck

  • Navigation bar link trouble

    My navigation bar links work in iweb (welcome, about us, etc.) but not on the internet when published?

    I am having the same issue. I had to republish my site, and once complete all my links on the Nav Bar are gone and replaced with a bullet. On iWeb it looks fine, but not on the internet. I have republished, tried changing layouts, reorganized my links, nothing seems to work.
    Thoughts?

  • Bookmark bar does not work on one of my computers - w XP

    Firefox 4.0 - the bookmark bar does not work. It appears but will not accept drags.
    PC w Windows XP - 3.
    Another thing too - The open new tab does not show up at all, in order to open a new tab I had to put the "open new tab" tab into the navigation toolbar.
    (Works fine on my other computer, & it drives me nuts to have to use Firefox w 2 different setups...)

    What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand?  Have you tried republishing your site with the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu option?

  • Links not working correctly in PCUI for CRM

    Hi All,
    We are implementing mySAP CRM 4.0 through PCUI on Portal
    EP6 SP14.
    I have integrated the CRM Business Package 60.2 in Portal.
    Proper User has been created in the backend and assigned Sales Manager Role both in the portal and in the CRM backend.
    We are facing problem of links not working in the CRM Contents. When we click on the links in the CRM Portal Contents ( BSPs) we don’t get the desired application opening.
    When we click any links in the BSP's ( Activity Links in Opportunity Management BSP ) we get a blank page popped up.
    I have the screen shots with me. Any one responding can get the screen shots from me.
    Thanks in Advance
    Rohit

    Rohit,
    Have you maintained configuration in (transaction CRMC_BLUEPRINT_C --> Navigation (URL Generation) --> Assign Object Method to Role)? Be sure that the role that you are using is present and ID Page/Service field correctly points to the pcd url for your portal.
    When testing, it may be helpful to set parameter CRM_URL_BUFFER_OFF = X on the user profile (SU01) to turn off the url buffer. That way changes made above are immediate.
    Best Regards,
    Bernard

  • Book Title in Navigation Bar Does Not Display Correctly

    Hi,
    I tried creating a epub file following Epub Best Practices ebook but after creation and loading of the ebook, I noticed that the book title at the navigation bar is not appearing correctly. The only the upper half of the text is shown so it appears that the text is cut in half. What should I do to correct this?
    Thanks,
    -- Jeff

    It seems that ADE is having errors displaying the book title when it has a non-breaking space. The book title in the previous post contains an non-breaking space. And when I replaced it with a regular space, the display was fixed. See link for the screen grab:
    http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/WIRjcDpEJSGOIur7FEBvzg?authkey=U6NN0HOA9dw&feat=direc tlink
    Aside from non-breaking spaces, what other characters does ADE does not support (which displays the title incorrectly)?

  • Navigation bar doesn't work

    I'm working on my website, and the navigation bar doesn't work. When I test it in iWeb, (checking the box that says "make hyperlinks active") it works fine, but when I publish it, they're dead. I can click as much as I want and they don't work.
    I replaced the default title with a title that has a hyperlink to send you back to the main page. I'm wondering if this might affect it.
    any tips?
    the website (for now) is web.mac.com/chriscowan. As of this post, the only active links from the main page are "Music," "Podcasts," and "Words."
    And yes, I have upgraded to 2.0.1

    i too have been searching for an answer to this problem. found something in another post that totally fixed it. don't know if it will help you but worth a try.
    check to see if a grahic box is covering your nav bar. Turn on 'Show Layout' to see the graphic boxes.
    good luck!

  • Navigation Bar Link opening in a New page??

    Hi,
    In the navigation bar link , how do we make the link open in a new browser page ?
    e.g:- The navigation bar "Help" is present whose target type is an URL sepecified to some valid URL but when the user clicks on "Help" the URL should open up in a new Browser Window..
    thanks in advance
    Naveen

    You can put target="_blank" right before href and it should work.
    where, in the following page, would i put the 'blank'
    code to force the link to open a new page?
    href="http://www.macievideo.com/tips/standard.html"
    title="http://www.macievideo.com/tips/standard.html"
    style="line-height: 20px; opacity: 1.00; ">Roger
    Macie<span style="color: #666666; line-height:
    20px; opacity: 1.00; "
    thanks!</div>

  • Just published site - navigation bar doesn't work

    Hi Everyone -
    I'm brand new here and apologize if I'm about to ask something that's been asked and answered a hundred times. I looked through the questions and found instances where navigation bars are missing once the site has been published, but my issue is different (though the solution may be the same - I don't know).
    I just published my iWeb site (www.thewordwise.com) and found a couple issues (my site doesn't fill the screen, but I'll wank about that later). My navigation bar appears properly at the top, but does not work at all. Only the Welcome page is accessible.
    In looking through the various missing navigation bar questions posed here, I would hazard a guess that not all of my pages have been properly uploaded to the hosting site I'm using (godaddy) and that the solution may be to use a third party FTP folder? This is unfortunately Greek to me.
    Any assistance would be enormously appreciated. Thank you.

    I think you'll find that your navigation menu is not working as your image is overlapping with it - The Word Wise image. An image only has to be overlapping a little and it will then not work. Move the image down so that it is clear of the nav menu and it should then work.
    As for your site name - the second is your site name in iWeb - you named your site that and you can change it so that it is not as long - do this in iWeb and then republish your site.
