Navigation Block in WAD 7.0

Hi All,
I have 7.0 Template.
now I want to make changes in the Navigation Block item.What i want to do is, I want to see more than 1 characteristic in a row in the navigation block in the report.
Can anybody help me change this? I know it is possible in WAD 3.x, but I want to know in 7.0 WAD.

You can achieve(try) that using table Interface concept, for that you need to do some R&D.

Hi Experts.
as per the customer requirement . they have bex report we need to convert in to web. but in the bex for one field they using default filters but am not aware in the WEB reports.
Please anyone suggest me how to give the default filter values in the navigation block in WAD.

Hi,
In the Properties of the Navigation Block pane. Goto WebItem-- Goto List of Characteristics, in that click list it will pop up new window, there enter the required objects wants to be in the default filter area.

Navigation block in WAD gives an error

Hi experts,
i added a u201Enavigation block u201E into an existing web template.
If I run Template with u201Cexecute in Browser u201C button in WAD. Everything is ok. I see the navigation block and I can work with it .
But if I run the template on company portal and filter an infoobject in navigation block, I get this error message.
"Field symbol is not yet assigned" / GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED.
The current ABAP program "CL_UC_MD_CHAR=================CP" had to be
terminated because it has come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Do you have any idea, should I change some settings ?

How can i change the iview ?
Is it also related which role the web templete is assigned ?
How can i find out which role ?

Multiple Data Providers for Filter/Navigation Pane in WAD

I need to know how to connect multiple dataproviders to either filter pane or navigation block in WAD. I know that they use drag and drop concept but there is still no way to filter on a single value and then add it to a drill down for all data providers at the same time or even one by one.
Also there is no way to use drag and drop on graphs

Yes you can add new data provider to the navigation block. create a new data priovider below the layout pane you have the option "new data provider" create using that and assign that data provider to the navigation pane in its parameters.

Display one navigation block in two queries in WAD

Hi All,
I have a problem in WAD.
I have two Queries to be displayed in WAD Q1 and Q2 based on dataproviders DP1 and DP2.
Q1 DP1
Q1 DP2.
Now i have navigation blocks which i want to set common for both the queries. (When i change the selection in one query, it will automatically change in other).
This i can do by using Affected Datproviders property and set to the navigation block as DP1 and DP2.
But the problem is .. I want to display only one set of navigation block in the definition of Web template not define it two times.
I guess some HTML code has to be changed for this.
Can anybody help me in this issue.

Passing variable values to the navigation block

Hi WAD Experts,
I have a requirement regarding passing variable values to the navigation block. User requirement is first give the selections on the selection screen and then after executign output should display in browser. In the output page we have a navigation block. So when user gives selections those selections should also populate in the navigation block. Your help will be appreciated.

Hi,
if your variable is 'Changeable at Query Navigation' the chosen values will appear in the Navigationblock.
Variables which are 'Not Changeable at Query Navigation'
will not appear.
You can set this Property when you create a Variable.

Navigation block and the Query Table Side by side in output

I am unable to get the navigation block and the query table side by side when i execute the WAD .Is it possible to place those 2 objects next to each other in the WAD output.In the WAD design those 2 are placed side by side.

I meant Html Table:
In WAD in menu you can choose Insert -> Table -> Insert Table
You need 1 row, 2 columns. In one of the column you should put navigation block and in the other table.

Web Application Designer - Columns and Navigation Block

I have problems concerning a web application.
The names of the columns are not displayed and the columns are not displayed in the navigation block.
Maybe you have experience with this problem and can give me some hints.

How to add variables to navigational block?

How to add variables to navigtional block.
I have placed navigational block but I am not finding option to add variables to navigational block.Can any one help me out.

In earlier version when I selecte the navigtaional block and add some characterstic to that navigational block then those characterstic are avaialble for the navigation purpose.But in this version I could add navigation pane .But I am not finding any option to add the characterstics.
But when I execute the WAD I am getting fallowing error.
In the Web Application Designer, create a data provider with the name %NM% in template ZMARKTING_PERFOM_GROUP, or change the reference to the data provider in Web item NAVIGATION_PANE_ITEM_1
Please help me.

According to your description, there is a main report with more than 100 rows of summary information, when users click the item of the row, the report need to jump to detail information shows as graph. The problem you are facing is that you are not sure
subreport, drilldown or drillthrough report should be used? You hope to set display detail information in the main report and keep high performance of report.
In Reporting Services, each subreport instance is a separate query execution and a separate report processing task. Subreports are recommended when there are just a few subreport instances. We should not use subreports inside a group when there are many
group instances, instead, consider using drillthrough reports. Drilldown reports process all data even when the data is first hidden. In order to improve the performance of the report, we can split drilldown reports into parameterized drillthrough reports,
because Drillthrough reports do not run until a user clicks the drillthrough link in the main report.
In this case, we can consider using drilldown or drillthrough report. In drilldown report, when we click a plus or minus button to expand or collapse a section of a report, the detail data will be displayed in place. By using drillthrough report, when we
click the link in the main report, the detail data will be displayed, we can come back to the main report by click return button in the drillthrough report.

BEx - empty value(#) in navigation Block (filter)

Hello experts,
i have navigation attribute in navigation block (query). It means that data in filter are read directly from master.
This nav. attribute has 2 compounded IOs.
i can see value in filter as below.
#/#/001
#/#/002
#/#/003
1/2/004
2/3/005
The values #/#/001, #/#/002, ... are stored in master data table. I would like to see only rows where fields are filled (1/2/004, 2/3/005, ...).
Do you have any idea ?
Maybe it's possible to supress these values in Info Object - folder "Master Data" - "Master Data Access" - "Own Implementation" - class

Input variable takes value from current filter setting in navigation block

Hi
Is there is a way in SAP, maybe with customer exit, to fill a input variable for 0CALMONTH (which in the end will get a value like "06.2005") with the current value from the selected month in the filter settings of the time characteristic 0CALMONTH in the navigation block of a query?
I guess the filter values are transferred back to the OLAP engine so the server knows the filter values of course and theoretically might be able to fill a variable with it...?

Thanks for your suggestion Vikram. But if i change in the Info-object leve, i hope it will be reflected in all the Queries that are using this info-object. I want it for a particular query alone.
Also, in the Info-object level, for the option 'Query execution Filter value' the value is given as 'Value in Master Data Table' only. Still, it is User specific.

How the filters in web reports differs the filters in queries.

Filters:
In your Web application, you can select filter values for characteristics and structures. The Web application is then filtered according to these selected values.
Generic Navigation Block:
The Web item Generic Navigation Block displays the navigational state of a query view in the Web application in the form of a table. All characteristics and structures in the query view are listed in the table and their filter values are displayed. You can change the navigational status of the query view. You can transfer characteristics and structures to an axis (rows or columns) or from an axis. You can filter according to single values and remove the filter again.
Hierarchy Filter:
You can search through leaves and nodes in the hierarchies of your Web application.

Navigation Block and RRI

Hello everybody,
I use the RRI to jump from one report Q1 to another report Q2. Both report are using the same webtemplate W1
(the report is send as parameter to W1.)
Both reports have the same structure and they are build one the same InfoProvider.
I have a navigation block which is the same in both. (contains exactly the same objects)
Let's say I open Q1, I do some navigation, I remove a column from drilldown, restrict to a value, I drilldown another object into rows.. After that I jump to Q2 via Go To.
What I want is that through this jump also the navigation block to be transferred. I mean the drilldown, the removed column to be not shown as in previous report..
Is there any solution at this (keep "settings" from Navigation after jump), or any alternative will be useful.

let's put the same problem for
Q1 in W1
Q2 in W2
in structure, W1 and W2 are identicaly.
jump from Q1(W1) to Q2(W2) and transmit the navigation block.. how?
p.s. also answers like: this is not posible will be helpful. I have to know if it is posible and if yes..how?

Hierarchy Expand & Navigation Block Filtering Operation

Hi,
I've got an "System error in program SAPLRRK0 and form CACHE_UNLOCK_FF-01-" when I expand a characteristic hierarchy in a report and right after that perform filtering on the same characteristic using the generic navigation block of the same report.
"Diagnosis:
This internal error is a targeted termination since the program has an incorrect status.
Procedure:
Analyse the situation and inform SAP.
