Navigation from a report to dashboad page

Hi all,
In obiee 11g , if i navigate from a report which has a navigation link to a dashboard page , it populates the prompt but report does not come automatically we need to click it once more where as it works with obiee 10.1.3.4.0 version.
Is there any way to solve this issue ?
I have kept a BI publisher report in dashboard and passing parameters to bipublisher report.

Hi,
This can be disabled.While creating the interaction, you can watch below the option-->Do not display this pop up....
You need to check or uncheck depending upon your requirements.

There is no Temp space in Data base to run queries .Please contact your DBA to increase your db size

Need 3 pages from a report of 1 page at every run

Hi Friends,
I have developed a report which is an Invoice. Every invoice will be 1 page only. Now what i need is when ever the user will run the report, the report will give 3 pages (same page 2 & 3,i.e. copy of page 1) as a set of invoices, with the headings as:
Page 1: Original for buyer
Page 2: Original for consignee
Page 3: Self Copy
I also want to display these messages page-wise on the report.
Now, The problem is how can I get 3 pages from a report of 1 page everytime.

Problem in navigating from one report to another in OBIEE 10g

Hi,
I am facing an issue with OBIEE 10g while applying navigation on my reports.
Lets suppose I made a report showing list of all items(in broad categories) sold on a particular day, say Dairy, Frozen Foods, Chocolates etc.In this report there is a date prompt showing the date of sale.
Now there are certain items that are distributed within these categories, like dairy includes milk, cheese, butter etc.
Hence, my navigation should be like when I click on a particular item category, the control should move on to the report which has all items under that particular category and the prompt for this report should show the same date as passed in the previous report.
But sometimes what happens is that on clicking the navigation from first report to the second one, the date is not persisting in the prompt. I say sometimes because at times the navigation does work correctly. This is a bug of Obiee or something which is giving unexpected results.
Kindly help with your suggestions.

Ankita,
This is not a bug in OBIEE...I'm sure something is missing. If this is working for some cases and not working for some other case then you will need to find the root cause. Try in bits and pieces...Step by Step with some dates (unit testing). Ideally this shud work properly.
For an instance try with OBIEE drilldown feature and not with navigation with a single sale date and observe the behavior.

Filter condition not working when Navigating from Main report to detail

Hello,
I have one report in OBIEE 10.3.4. Below is the filter condition used in Main report:-
(Customer Secondary Organization is equal to / is in BMS OTHER C
AND Customer Tertiary Organization is equal to / is in S&FO )
OR Customer Secondary Organization is equal to / is in MKTG
Also in my detail report I am using the same filter conditions:-
(Customer Secondary Organization is equal to / is in BMS OTHER C
AND Customer Tertiary Organization is equal to / is in S&FO)
OR Customer Secondary Organization is equal to / is in MKTG
Now when I am navigating from Main report to Detail report, then this filter condition is getting overridden by below condition:-
Customer Secondary Organization is equal to MKTG
and Customer Tertiary Organization is equal to S&FO
or Customer Secondary Organization is equal to MKTG
What I noticed is If I rearrange the filters and make it as below:-
(Customer Secondary Organization is equal to / is in MKTG
AND Customer Tertiary Organization is equal to / is in S&FO)
OR Customer Secondary Organization is equal to / is in BMS OTHER C
Then I am getting the filter in detail report as:-
Customer Secondary Organization is equal to BMS OTHER C
and Customer Tertiary Organization is equal to S&FO
or Customer Secondary Organization is equal to BMS OTHER C
It is taking Secondary Organization which is 2nd one in the main report.
Can anyone please help me on this.

Hi,
What you can try is refer the filte condition in the main report to the detailed report with the option--> Filter based on another request.
Or you try creating another intermediate report which will refer the main report filters and pass the filters to the detailed report.

I am trying to navigate from One report another report.
In the first report, the filters are being passed using the presentation variable.
In the second report, the filter are also based on presentation variable.
In the first report, filters are being passed but when I navigate to second report I face the problem.
The presentation variable are not getting passed.

Hi Biswadeep,
in your first report you use the presentation variables to filter data. But in your second report, you must include all fields where you want filter data and in the properties of each field you indicate that these fields are prompted.

How to remove blank pages from WebI Report in view page layout option

Hi,
I am working in Business Objects XIR2 environment. I have a WebI report with several sections. I need to show the report as a book with 69 sections (each section on new page). there are 69 sections on cost center and each cost center section has almost 10 sections embedded in it. When i see in regular view - I only see 69 pages but when I try to see in "View Page Lay out" option, there is one blank page added after each results page.
Please let me know how to remove this blank page. I need to give users the option to download the book as PDF on to their machine. Now, when I download to my machine, I see one blank page after each results page.

Jus convert your report in Page Layout mode and see if your first pafe is getting expand in the second page.
Now check if there are any cell going into second page.
- if there are any blank cell which is there after table.
you have to check formating very carefull.

Navigating from Summary Report to Detail Report in OBIEE 11g

Hi,
I have creted two reports.One corresponds to Summary and the other Detail.By clicking on one of the fields in
the Summary report the values are captured and then the detail report is displayed based on the values selected.
Now,What I need to know is whether I can populate the values I have selected in Summary Report(values correspond to only a single field) as some text in the Detail report.
I am using 11.1.5 just in case you need to know,but any help would be greatly appreciated.

another way if you want to stay in one document and continue to use drilling is to build 2 blocks and hide/unhide as you drill
block1 - shows your totals
block2 - shows the details
then use block hiding (see below) to cause block1 to disappear when you drill past a certain level. using the same (but opposite logic) you would have block2 appear
block hiding in webi - how to:
sadly webi doesnt have this feature directly the way that Crystal does but you can emulate it using SHOW WHEN EMPTY,block filtering and DrilFilters. The latter detects your level of drill.
block1 filter formula - return a TRUE result when DrillFilters tell you that you havent drilled into detail yet. Set SHOW WHEN EMPTY=No
when you do drill Block1's formula will be FALSE, the block will then technically be EMPTY and therefor wont show
Block2's filter logic will return FALSE when DrillFilters tells you that you are still on Block1's level of drilling. But when you drill Block2's level of drill, DrillFilters in Block2's filter formula will return TRUE and its rows will be returned. It wont be empty so it will show.

How to use Go URL to Navigate from one report to another

I have used Actionlink option to navigate from one report to another, It is nopt working on the dashboard because i used presentation variables in my first report and its throwing me an error below, I have to pass on id from one summary report to detail report, I have created Go URL, Do i need to use that URL in my summary report column formula ?

When drill through from FR report, navigate to FDM landing page.

Hi,
Data loaded in HFM 11.1.2.1 using FDM 11.1.2.1 and it has been replaced by ERP integrator 11.1.2.1.501. When we perform drill through from Financial reporting report it is navigating to the FDM landing page instead of ERP integrator landing page. In FDM landing page, showing the ERROR:
"Error: Error Retrieving recordset"

Hi ,
My guess is that , when you loaded the data from ERPi the drill regions created by FDM have been over written. Hence you are not able to drill down to the FDM page. This happens in most of the scenarios , where if the data is loaded across an intersection using FDM and then again the data is loaded in the same intersection using some other way like Flat Files or ERPi the Drill Regions or Drill POVs get compromised.
To confirm whether your FDM drill back is working or not , create a simple form using any of the intersections from your dimensionS ( not the same ones used above ) and load a single line of data using FDM across those intersections in the form. Try drilling back to the FDM Landing Page and check. Same way , create a report for the same intersections and check drill back to FDM. Remember to check the :Drill - Through" check box in the property grid in the Grid Properties for that report.

Unable to pass the values from one report to another using navigation links

I am facing a strange issue where I have to pass a column value from one report to other.
I have kept navigation link in the 1st report and 'is prompted' option in the 2nd report
Issue was , I'm not getting the filtered result in the 2nd report (all the records are being displayed)

Hi,
The column which you have given navigation link and 'is prompted' column should same and exist in both the reports.You have to give the guided navigation in the value interaction of the column in the report1.

Need help on filtering out one record from a report and open in new page

Hi I am new and embarrassed to write in the forum asking silly questions. Thing is I am learning all from scratch without help from anyone. I have created a database (have previous knowledge only from Access) and have managed to create a beautiful report from a search filter. This report lines up several records matching what I needed. Now, I want to make the whole report with hyperlinks to a detailed page on each of the records in the report. I have tried using the feature where one can make one column hyperlinked and redirect to a new page, where I am getting all the records again - instead of only getting the record I am clicking on. I have looked and looked in the forums without finding solution and I have tested and tried various methods without luck. I am suspecting that I need some sort of knowledge on how to write a select query with where conditions that can apply to filtering out a record from one report to get another detailed on only one object (i.e. record). :/ Stupid or what?

What you need to look into is two things:
1) The link you defined, needs to set additional attributes for the target page. In the "Column Link" box, you have set the link to "Page in this Application" and followed by the page number (let's say, Page 10). Below that, you should set an Item to an item on you target page (let's call that P10_PRODUCT_ID). This item should be the primary key of your detail table (on the targe page). You can select this item from the popup list. The Value of the item should be picked from a popup list as well, being the value from the record you clicked on. This should then transfer your selected item to your page. The URL will then have something like P10_PRODUCT_ID:5 at the end.
2) On the target page, 10, you must change the query slightly, so that it adds a WHERE clause:
WHERE PRODUCT_ID = :P10_PRODUCT_ID
Now, you should be set.

How to send values from a "Report Column" instead of a "Page Item" ?

Here's my case: Two pages A and B.
Page A is used to view each employee from a selected department.
Page B is used to created/modify employees.
I have a create button on page A which redirect to page B.
By default, page B is blank (as of course we have to fill the blanks to create a new employee).
However, there is 2 values I want to send to page B (as I'd like to pre-fill some blanks) : The department ID and the Manager ID (there is one manager per department).
---- I succeed with the department ID because it's a page item and in the "Action When Button Clicked" of the button I filled "Set These Items" -> Item From Page B "With These Values" -> Item from Page A.
---- I'm confused with the Manger ID because it is not a page item but a report column and there is nothing to do like I did for the Department ID in the create button.
I'm a bit lost cause I don't know how to transfer/send this value to the second page.
Do you have any clue ?

Maybe I have misunderstood your requirements, from those I assumed that Page 4 was already being populated with a Department ID. So my plan was to look-up the Manager ID via the known Department ID

Have you verified that you have the :P4_DEPARTMENT_ID in session?
Does your SQL run in SQL Commands when provided a Department ID?
Have you tried altering when the Computation fires? I recommended to start with After Regions, try some other firing points.

Passing prompt value from one report to other using navigation

I have one dashboard with one prompt (Prompt Name: Date) and a report with date column. This date in the prompt defaults to current date by using server variable ‘CURRENT_DATE’. When a user executes this dashboard the report will be executed for current date. Now I configured navigation on a column (MTD) that will take the user to another report. My Requirement is I have to filter the second report with a condition ‘Date<current date’. In the second report I applied a filter Date<valueof(CURRENT_DATE). To my surprise when I navigate from the first report to second report this filter condition Date<valueof(CURRENT_DATE) is replaced by Date=valueof(CURRENT_DATE). I did not under stand why navigating from the first report replacing the filter condition on the second report. If this is the expected functionality, what is the workaround for this?
To summarise my user want to see current date data in the first report and all the data less than current date in the second report. I tried with presentation variables. same thing happening with them as well.
Please let me know if there is any solution for this

fro second report apply filter not as global filters
To apply as inner fitlers...
Go to measures fx in answers
select the code in fx and click on filters options
and select the date from left pane (selection pane)
and write CURRENT_DATE by Converting this filter to SQL (the option is something like this)

Navigation from One page to another page through hyperlink in webcenter

Hi All,
I created ADF unbounded taskflow and want to use it in my webcenter portal application for navigation from one page say Page x to another say Page y by clicking on the hyperlink in the Page x. How to do this in webcenter portal application. When I try to add the taskflow in the navigation model it is taking to the blank page instead of taking to Page x. Many thanks in advance.
