Navigation issue on iPad Content Viewer

I'm just testing out Content Viewer on my iPad (4th gen) and when I preview on the device I can't seem to access the naviagtion. i.e Home button, Contents etc...
Its should be a simple one tap to get this information but it doesnt appear.
I have turned off the app, the iPad, restarted InDesign CS5 with no joy. Even tried uploadin new folios but it just updates the version in the Content Viewer without giving me the option to navigate home.
Any ideas as to what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
have you tried to uninstall and re-install the Adobe Content Viewer?
Is this happening on just this folio or other folios as well?

  • Grey Screen in iPad Content Viewer

A number of co-workers and clients have reported that when viewing a folio for the first time on a new device, a grey screen appears instead of the content. In general, the problem is fixed by closing the Conent Viewer in the app tray and restarting the app.
I have only seen the issue once, but it has been reported to me a number of times and while it's no problem for my co-workers, we would prefer that when a client sees a draft of their folio for the first time, they are not fighitng with the software. As my sale person said, "we're losing the 'wow' factor.
Any one else experiencing this issue or any expected fix?

I get it with dual orientation folios in PDF format on iPad and iPhone. but
    maybe I experience a different bug ...

  • Grey Screen in iPad Content Viewer when swipe through the last slides of the articles

Some of co-workers and clients reported and issue with the presentations and the viewer: some times grey screens appear when swiping in an presentation from article to article (reproducible only for the last slide of the article).
    Pre-conditions:
    1. Folio with several articles (3-4 is good).
    2. Articles should have different number of slides.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open folio on iPad and go to the last slide of each article.
    2. Swipe from article to article (better from the first one article to the last one)..
Expected outcome:  Last slide of the next article is displayed.
Actual outcome: Grey screen is displayed instead of the last article. Some times it's needed to swipe fast to reproduce the issue. Or at least on the last slide you'll see grey screen instead of the content.
Content will be displayed if you scroll up the page. Seems that new (additional) page is added after the last slide of an article and disappeared after scrolling the page.
Notes: Reproducible with the latest version of adobe viewer (i'm using v31(3.4.3.0.96281). NOT reproducible in iPad Content Viewer with version 3.2.1.3.85505.
Maybe somebody knows the root cause of this issue and how to fix it?

I can confirm that I've seen this happen but beyond that, I can't help.

  • How can I delete an unwanted folio from ipad content viewer?

I have deleted the folio from the digital publishing suite, but that did not remove it from the ipad.
There does not seem to be any option to delete it from the ipad content viewer as only "resume" and "view" are available as actionable options for this folio.
    Hope someone can help

Thanks - I was hoping for something built in as the problem with this folio was that there were errors in the indesign software (had to uninstall and reinstall) and so the folio was not able to complete the download. So there was no option to "archive". I can imagine that a folio not being able to properly download would not be that unusual and having to uninstall and reinstall the content viewer is a nuisance!
Of well, I will give it a try and cross my fingers that it does not keep hapenning!
Thanks for your help - I will report back what happens

Log into digitalpublishing.acrobat.com with that ID and then try again.

  • Just updated DPS successfully but now my iPad Content Viewer isn't automatically updating.

    Hi Guys,
just did the update successfully and evrything seeems to be working fine within InDesign.
I have just added a new article to the folio I am working on but my iPad Content Viewer isn't checking for update automatically anymore, so I can view my new article.
    Any ideas why this happening?
It was working yesterday when I was using it.
Is there a way to force the ipad Content Viewer to check for updates?
Please help asap, as I have a college deadline on Monday and need to check everything is working okay.
    Thanks.

    Hi Bob,
I am new to DPS and this is my first time of creating folios, hence the deadline on Monday.
Please ignore my second post, as I had forgot to sign in again after reinstalling on my iPad.
Fingers crossed it does seem to be working again after the reinstall and I actually set all of the Version compatbilities to 24.
I'll keep you posted if there are any more problems.
    Thank you for your reply.

  • Scrollable Frame issue on iPad 'Adobe Viewer'

I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue when previewing a folio with the iPad viewer.
The issue is when I have a full (or even part) page scrollable frame on a page and once I have vertically swiped/scrolled to the end of the scrollable frame, then the next vertical swipe seems to stick much more than usual and requires a much longer/sustained swipe to get it to move on to the next page.
This issue is only occuring when previewing a folio on the iPad viewer. It behaves as expected (short normal swipes) when previewed on the Desktop 'Content Viewer'. It also behaves as expected when simply previewing from the Folio Overlays panel – both on the Desktop viewer and iPad viewer. It also behaves if I import the article as PNG format into a folio, however I am requiring vector quality/display for this project so can't ignore the issue.
It also does not fix the issue to select 'raster' rather than 'vector' in export options within the 'scrollable frame' folio overlay panel.
My first thought was that maybe this is just a quirk of the iPad viewer, but the fact that the behaviour works in most other scenarios has me guessing. Maybe i am missing something somewhere which may explain this. I see the use of Scrollable Frames in this manner within many apps (in vector/PDF) without experiencing this issue, hence why I am leaning towards it being a quirk of the viewer when as a folio with a PDF scrollable frame.
I am using the latest viewers (Desktop and iPad app). The folio's tested trying to resolve this issue have been in both v26 and v27. Using InDesign CS6 on Mac. Same issue happens whether iPad is horizontal or vertical.
Please let me know if you need any further details on my setup or what i have been testing if that will help.
    Thanks
    Ross

i had this problem once, in the folio producer have you given the folio a name, number and description?
also in the viewer on the ipad they are not nessecarily in the right order - so scoot about on it
if all else fails, delete the folio and re-upload, we had a glitch once and the only solution was to re upload

  • Error when downloading folio file to ipad content viewer

    Hi All

have restarted Ipad, uninstalled viewer and reinstalled but still no joy. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

  • Remove previous issues from Adobe Content Viewer

We do not have a DPS licence as yet, but as part of the process to get the business to sign up we have created some example docs in InDesign and shared with the decision makers directly.
We now want to remove some of these examples, and have 'unshared' the folios but they are still appearing in the Content Viewer?  If I delete the issue, the thumbnail remains with the option to download it again.
    Help?

On the iPad, you (or your clients) need to tap the gear icon in the upper right corner of the library and choose "Remove Issues from iPad." Then you select the downloaded folios and delete them. If the folios have been unshared or removed from the server, they'll no longer appear in the library.

  • IPad Content Viewer login

    Hi,
I have recently installed the Adobe Content Viewer app on my iPad. When I try to login with my Adobe ID, it says "Authentication Failed."  I have tried uninstalling it, then reinstalling it, changing passwords, etc.  Nada.  I can login without issue on the website, but have not been able to login to the app successfully yet.  Thanks for your help.

ok, I just stumbled across another post on this.  Apparently you have to go to https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/app.html and login there, specifically there.  Once you do so, it will bring up another set of terms that you need to agree to.  Once you do this, then the ipad app will authenticate your login.
There needs to be better direction on this than "authentication failed" in the app.  This took way too long to figure out.  I am not a creator of content in digital publishing, only a user (being "pushed" to me).  Thus, I would normally not have any reason to login to the digitalpublishing website.
    hope this helps someone else!

  • Help! Slideshow Autoplay does not work on ipad content viewer.

I created a dps app using Adobe Creative Cloud on a PC running Windows 8.  It has a multi-state object of text to fade in and out. It works properly on a windows tablet but not on my ipad.  I'm aware this question has been asked before and I tried all of the suggested fixes and none have worked for me. Are there anymore bug fixes.

Darn, I was hoping you could read my mind, lol. The problem is I created an article in DPS that has 4 multi-state objects on one page. 3 of the multi-state objects (button-like icons that change color when you tap/swipe them) are set to tap to play, the 4th multi-state object, a slideshow with 7 states each containing text that's supposed fade in and out 1 by 1 on a loop, is set to Autoplay upon article opening. This all works great on the desktop preview and once its downloaded to Adobe Content Viewer on my Windows Tablet.  However, when I download it to the Adobe Content View on my iPad and try to run the same app the 3 tap to play icon buttons work fine but the multi-state text Slideshow will not autoplay. It will only show the first state (which is a text box). I'm using Adobe Creative Cloud Indesign to create the article on a pc running Windows 8. I recently ran updates on my adobe software. Any insight???

  • Viewing Portfolio PDF on iPad: Content Viewer or other?

Adobe Content Viewer: Can it be used to view regular PDF's (created in InDesign, not using DPS)?
I am trying to find the best way (app) to show my portfolio on the iPad. Should I use another app instead? Any suggestions? Thank you!

You can create a .folio and preview it on your iPad by using a free DPS account. To create an application you have to create a paid account, or purchase a one-time licence. Take a look at this FAQ on side loading for more help: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3666113#3666113

  • Pan/Zoom - activation delay on iPad Content Viewer

I am able to create an image/frame and turn on PAN & ZOOM in the Interactive Overlays panel.
However, when I preview it on my iPad...it is difficult to activate the pan/zoom interactivity:
It seems I have to tap the image once, then wait about 4-5 seconds, then I can pan/zoom by pinching, ad then, to "reset" it, I have to double tap.
Is this the correct process? It seems confusing and counterintuitive? Am I doing something incorrectly in InDesign/Content Viewer, etc?

That is the behaviour of the pan and zoom overlay. The only part that is odd is the 4-5 second delay after the tap. How many pixels in each dimension is the content you have inside the overlay? If it is very large it will take a long time to load.

  • Ipad content viewer authentication error

Hi I have an adobe id and am a creative cloud subscriber. I just downloaded the adobe content viewer app to my new retina display ipad and for some reason the authentication has an error. I am using the same user id and password so i am not sure what is going on. I have also verified the email that I am using for my adobe id. Any ideas?
    Thanks

Moved from the Creative Cloud to the Digital Publishing Suite forum. They will be able to help you here.

  • New iPad Content viewer

I understand you can't sideload folios created under the new system because they only live on acrobat.com, but what about older folios which exist on the desktop?

The workflow is designed to give you as much preview as possible before purchasing DPS  or creating an app.
The Desktop preview allows you to see the function of your publication and identify both function and visual issues.  The next step would be to preview it on the Content viewer app. When you use the Content viewer app you are running the folio as it would in its own custom application.  Things to test at this phase would be things like memory consumption, function and visual issues.
    All those steps are free.
From there it goes on to creating a custom build (which you focus more on the cosmetic of icons and the linkage to licensing)  These are simplified descriptions but the main message is  you can test how your content will function on your device by using the free Content viewer app.
