Navigation Pane disappearing after installation of KB2850064

I have Outlook 2013 professional plus 32 bit.
once KB2850064(32 bit edition) update installed on system, Navigation Pane disappears and it reappears only if it is uninstalled.
I am facing this issue since Jan 16, 2014 update.
Any solution for this is appreciated.

Have you updated Office 2013 to SP1?
I've seen this issue that KB2850064 caused the Navigation Pane to disappear, and a recent hotfix should have fixed the problem. When SP1 is installed, the problem should be gone.

Navigation pane disappears when the focus is changed

I using Robohelp 7.01.001 and am generating a Microsoft HTML Help (Primary Layout). When I open up the CHM file everything looks fine, but when I change the focus off of the Help file the navigation pane hides. Is there a setting to always show the navigation pane?

Welcome to our community
If you edit your Window definition you should see an option labeled Auto-show/hide Nav Pane.
If this option is enabled, clear it and you should be golden. If it's not enabled, enable it and click OK. Then disable it and click OK.
If the steps listed earlier don't seem to resolve the issue, perhaps try creating a new window and defining that as the window for your CHM file.

Creative suite 6 disappears after installation?

My university (university of maryland college park) offers Adobe Creative Suite 6 for students. I downloaded the 5 parts for the creative suite, adobecs6mcx64.part1.exe, adobecs6mcx64.part2.rar, etc. Then I followed the directions on the page and ran the part1.exe as an administrator. Afterwards, I had an AdobeCS6MCx64 folder with 2 folders and a file inside ( Build, Exceptions, adobecs6mcx64.aamee). After it made this folder and finished the initial installation, an adobecs6mcx64 windows installer would start up and create an adobe master suite folder somewhere else where it'd start installing the programs. However, as soon as the windows installer finished it's installation, the entire adobe master suite folder would disappear and none of the programs are anywhere on my computer. I still have that one folder with the build, exceptions and aamee file inside it but I can't figure out what to do.

Jmido8 please download the installation files from Download CS6 products. The installation files for the Student and Teacher Edition are identical.

Firfox disappeared after installation

Hi, I recently downloaded firefox and installed it. it worked. I then shut down my mac. After rebooting I could not find the application anywhere. The same thing happened to another application OSX planet. Any ideas what's gone wrong?

You were probably running Firefox from the Diskimage, and didn't install it at all, so when you restarted it closed, and is not in the Applications folder.
Open the Firefox diskimage again, and drag the Application Firefox to your Applications folder. Do the same for PlanetX.
Then you can eject (unmount) those diskimages, and when you want to run either of them activate them from Application folder.
Hint: Once Firefox is running you can set it to Keep In Dock, by holding down on the docked icon until a little menu shows giving that choice.

App updates not disappearing after installation

I received notification in my iPad's App Store that new updates were available. I selected Update All, and they were all applied successfully. However, when I returned to the App Store all the update icons were still there even though the updates were applied - what's up with that? PS I'm running iOS 7. Thanks for Help on this one!

That seems to be a new thing. I actually like it, because it has the date of the update and includes a description of what was IN the update. I can't tell you how many times I've applied an update and then wondered... what were the new features again?

All newly installed apps disappear after the installation is done?

My problem started a few days ago. I install a new app from the app store and it shows up as loading on the home screen. As soon as the installation is done the icon simply disappears. Finder cannot locate it and the store shows the OPEN button, but it does nothing when pressed.I tried settings/general/usage/storage and the missing apps are there but the name of the missing apps does not show. I only see the icon and the size. I can delete the apps from there but reinstalling them does not help.

Unfortunately that did not help. It seems that there is a limit on the number of apps that can be shown on the home screen. I have close to 200 apps installed, and they are organized in folders on the home screen (3 pages). I must have hit the limit for apps in the home screen. I can install new apps, but they will not show up. If i delete one of the old apps then install a new one it will show on the home screen. I believe when the count gets to 189 then the next one (#190) will disappear after installation.

A third party plug-in disappears after a localization patch installation

I have a third party plug-in installed for PhotoShop CS3.
The third party plug-in disappears after installation of a localization
patch. I tried reinstalling the plug-in, but that does not work.
It appears that after the patch is installed, tw10428.dat maps
the English texts on the menu to Korean.

The plug-in was working fine before the patch. The patch
is just an executable which I ran after I closed Photoshop.
There wasn't any error message and the instance of Photoshop
works fine when I re-run it other than the fact that the plug-in
is no longer in the menu.

Creative Cloud App installer disappears after "Initialising Installer" stage

I recently had to reboot my laptop to its settings for 4 days ago, and ever since then I cannot seem to download CC app at all.
I don't even get an error message, the installer just disappears after the Initialising Installer stage.
I have tried using the uninstaller tool, but when I try to reinstall the same thing happens.
This is very frustrating. I did not expect to have to pay for the CS6 products and to not be able to download the software itself.
I pay monthly for this service and the more days I go unable to download the software seems frankly a waste of my money.

For Windows :
Open C:drive and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and delete folders named Adobe Application Manager and OOBE.
Important :
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and if present delete Adobe Creative Cloud folder.
Then try to install Creative Cloud desktop application.

We have confirmed this is present in both Access 2007 and Access 2010.
Recreate:
If a user drags the naviagtion bar right hand side resize vertical handle so the only the "All.." is displayed in the top of the navigation bar title and releases the mouse button, the resize handle disappears.
Resolution:
It seems the only way to resolve the issue is to restart Access.
The same action is not apparent in other MS office applications (eg Outlook).   Is this a known bug ? Is there a workaround or hotfix ?

Another way (F11 and Search Bar workarounds didn't work for me) ... save in Access 2002/2003 (mdb) format, close. Open in Access 2002/2003 (mdb), I could "find" the grab bar and expand the navigation bar. Save in Access 2007/2013
format. Open in Access 2007/2013 format - the bar stayed expanded. Your mileage may vary.

Show Navigation pane link in topics disappears

When I click on a help link the topic with the navigation
pane link is shortly displayed and is then replaced with the topic
and the TOC in the left pane. I want to display the topic with the
navigation pane link.

Clarification of the WebHelp generation process seems to be
called for.
The .htm file that appears in the "Select Output Folder and
Start Page" field at the top of the first "WebHelp General -
WebHelp" dialog is the file in which RH will place all the frameset
and browser information needed to display the three frames (toolbar
pane, left-hand TOC/Index/Search navigation pane, and right-hand
topic pane). (The "Default Topic" field, in the same dialog, tells
RH which actual content page/topic to display when that start page
is launched.)
The direct launching of any other topic (you double clicking
the filename or R&D calling it in the application) will result
in one topic pane being displayed for that topic, with the "Show"
button provided to switch over to the three-pane frameset.
However, launching a specific topic
indirectly through the start page will display that page
with the three-pane format. The call from the application would
then be StartPage.htm#DestinationPage.htm. If you want to open the
same topic at a prearranged bookmark, the call would be
StartPage.htm#DestinationPage.htm#BookmarkSection.

Photoshop cs 4 wont run after installation on mac book pro

I recently brought the adobe design premium package with flash, illustrator, indesign, photoshop etc...
after installation all other application works but just photoshop, it just wont start at all...
it will pop up on the deck for a second or two and just disappear. the progra wont run at all. other applications like illustrator, indesign etc... all work just fine but just not photoshop... i dont get it what's wrong. no error or anything. just pop up and then disappear.
the spec of my macbook pro
mac osx 10.6.2
2.53 ghz intel core 2 duo
4 gb 1067 mhz ddr3

So have you done the basics?
Toss the PS folder and run the installer again?
Run the updater from an app you can open? (this will update all)
etc...

How do I hide the Navigation Pane by default in a programmable way?

I am looking for a way to make a PDF file not showing navigation pane when it is opened, in a programmable way.
I have referred to the PDF references, and found a ViewerPreferences dictionary which can control the viewer appearance, and there is a entry

But after I specified the HideWindowUI with true, the navigation pane is still showing up with the bookmark expanded.
I know there is a way by specifying the opening parameter with "navpanes=0" with command line or change the windows registry. But I can't do this because I can't ask every of my customers do this way.
Could someone provide suggestions or insights on that?

I have ever seen this method before, but it can't address my problem. I can't ask my customers to change their registry, cause I even don't know who they are...
What I can control is just the content of the PDF file.

TOC, Search, Index not appearing in navigation pane in Firefox

I have a problem with a Help system that seems familiar with a number of other discussions on this forum, but I haven't found anything directly relatable to it.
I have a WebHelp system generated using RH8. The Help has window-level context sensitivity. The Help system is deployed on a secure (HTTPS) server. When launching the Help from IE8, everything works as expected. However, launching the Help from Firefox (3, 8, or 9), the default topic appears and the Help is fully navicable except the contents for the navigation pane will not appear. The frame and the buttons (Contents, Index, Search) appear, but the content is missing. I can enter an Index term to search, but search doesn't return anything.
When I access the compiled Help system locally (not from a Web server), the navigation pane works correctly within Firefox.
My best guess after scouring a number of discussions, threads, and forums, is that it would appear that there is some issue with the Javascript affecting the context sensitivity and the left-frame functionality when deployed on a secure server using Firefox. However, I haven't come across anything that has worked as a solution.
Any other avenues to explore?

90% of pictures disappeared after new program. Time machine folders mostly empty. Downloaded my Carbonite file. Can I restore directly from this file or do I have to drag and drop 20,000 pix?

90% of pictures disappeared after adding Maverick. My Time Machine folders were in the right order but mostly empty so useless for restore. Repair and rebuild attempts were not effective. Downloaded my Carbonite file which is now sitting on my desktop. Is there any way to use the restore command to rebuild my portfolio or do I have to drag & drop approx 20,000 pictures? Can album groupings and faces be retained?

Do you still have the original library that was present at the time you upgraded to Mavericks? If so apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
