Navigation with NOKIA 2710 vs. C5

-need help from somebody who has experience/knowledge of:
- NOKIA GPS MAPS
- NOKIA C5
- NOKIA 2710 (nav.edition)
My ex-girlfriend has a
NOKIA C5
& I have a NOKIA 2710(nav.edition)
when we use
MAPS/NAVIGATION,
her
NOKIA C5
shows the legal speedlimit of the road we travel on & it even gives a warning when we go over the legal speedlimit...
My NOKIA 2710's
MAPS-application
doesn't seem to have the speedlimit (&speed warning) function...

Here's my brand new, maps crashing issue; For some bizzare reason, I thought I'd try to use a-gps. I've always had pretty good luck with the thing syncing but it could be better.
I recently came to Germany and got a MOBI (vodafone) sim card and I set vodafone live as my provider. It didn't seem to be any faster so I went into setting, (in maps) and tried to turn it off.
The problem is; I can't. When I go into Maps settings and click on Network, it shuts off Maps or reboots the phone. Now, whenever I turn on maps, it logs onto vodafone and burns off all of my credit in about 5 minutes...and I can't turn it off and I can't use maps without using all of my expensive credit.
It's really **bleep** me off. This is the first software issue I've had with this thing and I have no idea how to solve it. I've gone into Tools>General>Positioning methods and only have Integrated gps checked but it's still logging on.
It's a real pain. If I could remember my lock code, I'd reset everything to default.

In which countries can I use navigation with Nokia...

Navigation requires that there is navigable map for the country. Navigable maps are currently available for the countries below (with map data version 0.2.46.103 or 0.1.29.100, May 2012).
(Note that if using Nokia Drive in Nokia Lumia phones, the initial Drive version in these phones doesn't yet support China even though there is navigable map for China.)

Nokia 2710 plugged in Mac. help with settings,please?
When I plug Nokia 2710 in USB in Mac computer OSX 10.6.4, I see 3 options:
1. PC suite
2.Print &media
3. Data storage
My questions are about option 1. PC suite.
When I select it, I can see in Network Preferences
2 icons for Nokia phone:
Nokia 2710c
and
Nokia 2711
and on the Network Preferences pane there are options to configure them with options to set telephone number,account name and password.
(My Nokia 2710 is connected and works with mobile phone network Virgin in Australia)
How exactly to set these configurations and how to use them?
And which one to configure - Nokia 2710c or Nokia 2711?

Probably would try 2710c first and watch out for any capitalisation in VirginInternet

Nokia 2710 sync with Ovi Suite 2.2.1.23 not

Hi,
I have even a small problem.
When I start the Nokia Ovi Suite and my Nokia 2710 Navigator plug in, the program recognizes the phone, it happens in addition to a rotating group "set up" and nothing more.
So I can not sync my mobile phone content. What am I doing wrong?

PS: With the Nokia PC suite I can sync my mobile phone content easily.

Could you please follow this?
. Uninstall Ovi Suite, PC Connectivity solution and Nokia Connectivity cable drivers from Add/remove program if anything is there.
2. Delete the files from here If anything is there
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Nokia\Ovi Suite
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache
3. Please search and download MSI clean up utility from microsoft website
Once installed please select the programs related to Nokia and click remove.
Restart Computer.
Then download from microsoft website and install Windows Installer, so that the installer is upto date.
4. Restart the PC
5. Download and Install latest OviSuite http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite

Sms problem bug with nokia 6710 navigator

hi, i'm jack, surfer from italy.
the new kind of t9 with nokia navigator 6710 is really really bad, i'm searching to get the older one on this phone.
the problem is that when you press * to change the word, the phone become slower, and open a new window where you can see the words and choose. this thing is really uncomfortable and make you really slower and harder to complete the sms.
the big problem is that you can't enable or disable this option, you must use it! this is a very bad thing from nokia, cause people must choose their way to write sms.
i can disable and enable t9, so why can't i enable and disable this option? this is a bug from nokia in this phone!
please help me to find a patch, a software or something else to solve this problem, or if doesn't exist i need someone that advice nokia to put something to download on the site, to solve this problem.

1st of all dont store alot of text on phone this slows it down
2nd try a soft reset this restores phone to out of box state the code is *#7370# security code is 12345 back up contacts and apps etc

NOKIA 2710 - bug firmware 09.67

I update my nokia 2710 navigation edition to 09.67.
Now bluetooth doesn't work (yes is no available) and gps is always in "looking at current position"... with a-gps too.
HELP!!

The Vedio recording is too too low volume when playback i think it's a bug must be fixed please waiting new updtaes from great nokia team.

Problem with nokia maps N95 8Gb

I've been trying to use the GPS navigation trough NOKIA MAPS but it doesn't work, in my phone's screen appears "the license has expired" or something like that. I'd like to know what i've to do to make it work.
Because Iv'e heard that tthe GPS navigation in other nokia models is free.

Really doesn't sound good, you could go to Menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > Network > Network mode - see if changing from dual mode to UMTS or GSM makes any difference; could also try brand new SIM card in case contacts in device SIM holder getting a bit worn but probably clutching at straws!

Special characters issue with Nokia Maps on N95

Hi there,
when using Navigation in conjunction with Nokia Maps on my N95, all streets and towns which contain any special character in their name (for example: é, è, ü, ä, ö, etc…) do appear as unreadable garbage on the screen of the N95.
I only noticed the problem after having purchased the 3 years license Navigation upgrade (EUR 99.99) and immediately notified Nokia. That was back in October. Since then I have called them at least 10 times and ultimately I have asked for a refund as no solution is still available.
In all these calls with Nokia, the only reasonable argument I heard was that maybe (!!!) the new software update version 20.0.015 released back at the end of November could solve the issue. Unfortunately, for my phone (which is a branded one) the update is not yet available.
Today, after calling them again, I was told that Nokia’s policies do not foresee refunds and therefore my request has been rejected. I was told to bring my phone to a Nokia Store and see if they can help me (I don’t see how). I was also told that maybe I would have to send-in the phone for repair.
This is soooo frustrating that despite the 3 months of patience and all the money spent for the N95 (not quite cheap), the navigation upgrade and the phone calls to Nokia, I still have the same issue. I will probably end up filing a complaint with a monthly consumer’s magazine in the hope they will publish my story.
After all, it may not even be Nokia’s fault but rather the guys who are responsible for the maps, but if Nokia accepts to have a commercial venture with a vendor, than they also accept liability for the joint product. And by turning down my legitimate request for refund, they have proven not to give a **bleep** about people like you and me.
Forgive me for the long post - needed to release some of the frustration...

I have been using an N95-8GB since Nov.'07. From my experience with this phone that has a built-in mass memory besides the phone memory. I had trouble retrieving some of the softwares I have installed. For eg. I have saved some themes in the mass memory & I could not find it when I want to delete it. There are some 3rd parties games software inside where I cannot even delete
This is what I don't like about the phone. I have bought an N82/Black recently as it uses an external memory card.
Coming back to Nokia maps. Personnaly, I don't think they are that good & I have problem downloading it into my phone from my PC after having downloaded it from Nokia.
By the way the Nokia map is not even the latest map 2.0. Is still a 1.0
I used Navfone map software & it works OK in the 8GB. You have to purchase it.
I have used a couple of N-series phones in the past ie. N-90, N-70, N-71, N-73, N-80/Black, N95, N-95/8GB & now N-82.
Common with all N-series phones. After you have disconnected when you are done with your call you have to wait for a while before the word "disconnected" disappears.
The more features it has, the more problem you are gonna to encounter.
Unless you want to download softwares into your phone & have a good camera thats where the N series phones come in.
For normal usage, a 40 series phone will suffice.

Using Here navigation with Lumia 1520/W8.1 in my c...

With bluetooth activated on my phone and in the car (Hyundai i40/2012) the voice navigation do not work as expected.
Every time navigation instructions are given the car's phonesystem is activated as an incoming call which of course cannot be answered. Anyone experienced this and found a solution?
De-activating bluetooth on the phone does help and voice guidance works as expected on the phone, however this is not a good solution and I would like to have the bluetooth activated and voice guidance working through the car's speaker system as it did with my previous model (Lumia 920).
Any help will be appreciated.

I have been in contact with Nokia Care on the above subject.
Finally got the voice guidance to work after doing the following:
1. Deleting the phone from my bluetooth list in my car
2. Removing following char from my phonebook: /()
3. Deleting the bluetooth pairing from my phone
4. Re-started the phone
5. Paired to my car
6. Chosed a destination.
7. Started navigating to that destination.
8. The voice guidance working on my cars speakers.
9. Stopped navigating.
10. Chose another destination
11. Started navigating to that destination
12. The voice guidance working on my cars speakers
13. Stopped navigating.
14. Chose recent destination or a favorite destination
15. Started navigating to that destination
16. The voice guidance DID NOT WORK!!
17. Stopped navigating.
18. Went back to choosing as under 6.
19. Started navigating to that destination
20. The voice guidance DID NOT WORK!!
Conclusion:
It seems that I can get the voice guidance to work as long as I do not select destination from other than "Choose a destination". Selecting a destination from "Recent destinations" or from "Favorites" does not seem to work.
Funny, however this was not the situation before W8.1. Has anything been done with the bluetooth communication after W8?
Note:Microsoft Mobile Devices states in a FAQ on this matter that you should use the phone's internal loudspeaker for the time being. However I then have to switch off bluetooth which of course is no solution. For the time being we just have to wait until hopefully this technical problem is solved by Microsoft.

Nokia 2710 fail to upgrade

Hello to all,
yesterday i bought a new one nokia 2710 and i just want to upgrade it by OVI.
something go wrong with the connection, and the device restart everytime with the old FW..
I check the upgrade compatibility and seems ok..but it fail.

I solved all the problems on my new Nokia 2710c-2: (1) not being able to do the backup and (2) getting error code 12017 whle trying to update the software wit Ovi 3.0.0.2900.
The solution so simple: I deactivated the Pin Code request. The phone kept locking itself out after a few seconds asking for the pin code for reactivation. I did not realize at first this would also impare the communication via the USB port.
Oh well, better later than never. I hope my solution will help other people as well.

Nokia Maps with Nokia 6220 classic

I got a 90 day free trial with Nokia Maps
But everytime I try to use it it says
No Internet Connectoin. Select Options > Tools > Go Online.
I do that and the same thing happens.
All I can see is a light green screen with a red dot in the middle on Nokia Maps
Internet doesn't work for me either.

If you have a generous data plan you can download maps on demand I suppose but not very practical if roaming.
