Navigational Attribute for Keyfigure

Hi all,
Is it possible to make Key figure as a Navigational Attribute? I have a master data infoobject which has attributes under which one of them is a Key figure,, When i try to turn on the Navigational Attribute for that Keyfigure,, i am not able to see the Nav. Attr Switch to turn on,,
I even checked in the Keyfigure,, whether anything can be done,, i even un-checked Attribute only tab in that,,
Just wanted to know, is it possible to make it as Nav.Attr.

You can't set Key figure as nav attribute.

Issue when using Navigation attributes for filtering in BEX

Hello,
We are encountering an issue when applying filter on Navigation attributes in BEx query built on top of a BW HANA Virtual Provider.
The interface is as below :
HANA Calculation View -> SAP BW 7.4 Virtual InfoCube -> Multiprovider -> BEx Query.
We have directly mapped the base Infoobject from HANA View to BW Virtual Provider and using this in BEx query free characteristics. We also have used the navigational attribute of this Infoobject in our Report variable screen as well as an Auth relevant object.
Eg if ZMATERIAL is the base infoobject and ZMATERIAL__ZXYZ navigational attribute is used in the report variable screen and as Authorization variable.
This is causing the query to fail.
The query also fails if I apply any filter values on any Navigational attribute with error message :
"Termination message sent ERROR DBMAN (305): Error reading the data of InfoProvider"
Using the navigational attribute with authorization variable fails with below :
"Termination message sent ERROR DBMAN (099): Invalid query;Failed to find attribute ZMATERIAL__ZXYZ [...]"
Appreciate any inputs on this issue and how this can be fixed.

Thank you for your input.
Based on the OSS note , it says to import BW7.4 SP7. We are already on BW7.4 SP7
We get error "Termination message sent ERROR DBMAN (099): Invalid query;Failed to find attribute
ZMATERIAL__ZXYZ" whenever we try to apply filters on any of the navigational attribute.

# values for navigational attributes in report . (Urgent)

I have a navigational attributes for time dependent master data. In the report I am not able to see values for that navigational attribute. I see # values for the navigational attributes. I checked the master data of main info-object. every thing looks fine.

Check the following two things again just to make sure you are doing everything right. These are already mentioned by Bhanu...
1) Go to the master data table (Q table or the M table) and check to see if there are M version records (OBJVERS = M). If yes, you need to activate the master data using the program RSDDS_AGGREGATES_MAINTAIN (Change Run). If there are no M version records then check the second step
2) If you do not enter any key date in the query, it takes the system date as the default key date. So check and see if any master data exists for today's date ?
Also just curious, which version and support pack level are you on ?

Using navigational attributes in selection for a forecast profile

Hello All,
I could understand that the forecasting can be done on navigational attributes.
But when I goto transaction /SAPAPO/MSDP_FCST2, I could not create a selection on navigational attribute.
Because I could not see the navigational attribute field in the selection screen for selection criteria/profile creation.
Does anyone have any idea of how to do this?
Also I saw the method SEL_CHANGE of BADI /SAPAPO/SDP_FCST5. But the documentation is confusing, since it says that using this method, we could delete the navigational attributes from the selection condition. Could any one suggest me how to use this BADI if I cannot create a selection with navigational attribute?

The real problem is the OSS note is confusing.
OSS Note for this method says "This method can be used to change the selection to be stored in
in the generated selection table. Navigation attributes can be removed, such as the function of assigning a forecast
profile to the selection can also be allowed for selections with navigation attribute without a basic characteristic."
I am really confused what it says.
If we can't create a navigational attribute for a selection, how could we delete it from a selection?

Transformation on navigational Attribute

Hi Gurus,
I want to create transformation between info-object (z)and Infocube(Z).
there are total 8 fields in infocube 2 info-objects in dimensions and 6 are Navigational attributes.
When I tried to create transformation between info-object attribute ( Z infoobject ) and infocube I can use direct transformation between infocube and info-object for 6 info-objects for remaining 2 , I can not use direct transformation as I can not see that ( navigational attribute ) in infocube. Out of 6 navigatioonal attribute I can see 4 info-object for direct transformation but remaining 2 I can not see r . I checked Properties for all 6 navigational attribute , and they are same.
One more thing I observed that for 4 Navigational attribute for which I can create direct transformation are shown as key in infocube.
Please suggest .

i have tried doing the same thing ..but we did not find any navig attributes being displayed in the transformation on the infocube end.
so technically its not possible to display nav attr in transformation.
as said above ...the objects which are displaying in the transformation(cube side) are char or keyfigures which are added in the cube dim or keyfigure tab respectively.

Navigational Attribute as Text Element

Hi...
I have a report which shows list of Titles in the first column and the corresponding amounts based on several account and profit center restrictions in the further columns.
Titles basically are movie names.
Titles have navigational attributes like Video Release Date, Theatrical Release Date. These navigational attributes can be displayed in the report. But, the user doesn't want to display them in the report. He wants them to display them as the text elements.
As we are neither using a filter nor variable on these navigational attributes, these are not being shown as text elements.
Is there any way, I could show these navigational attributes for a given title as text elements?

Ok, let's make this simple. I have a Title: 9381780, which has navigational attribute, Theatrical Release Date: 01/09/2004.
In my query definition, I have this title restricted by this value 9381780 and the navigational attribute in the rows panel.
Now, the query displays me the both the Title and it's navigational attribute as columns in the report.
But, if u see the text elements, I see only Title: 9381780, because it's a filter.
I cannot see the navigational attribute, Theatrical Release Date: 01/09/2004 in the text elements because it is neither a filter nor a variable.
I want to display this navigational attribute, Theatrical Release Date: 01/09/2004 in as a text element.

Navigational Attribute Problem in Input Query

Hi,
I am having a problem in input query implementation which uses a navigational attribute. I have, for eg, only one char 'customer' in rows; i want to exclude the customers with the status D (deleted) from displaying (Status is nav. attr. of customer). I tried this by restricting in filter, Status D-"exclude". But as soon as I do this, query no longer remains input ready! (I also tried putting the same restriction in Default Values area rather than Filter, but ended with the same result )
I discovered that if, furthermore, I put Status in rows (with the above said restriction still remaining), query is again input ready.
Can't we exclude values in the filter on an input query? I want to know if this is a restriction with IP or a bug?

Thanks for the explanation. But this makes me wonder, because due to this restriction one of the BIG advantages queries had over the planning layouts of BPS, seems to be gone. I mean, using navigational attributes for filtering; if we have to always have a single value restriction on a nav. attr., this will really be restricting. Is it expected that this will be changed in a later SP?
And there is another problem that is coming due to this. When I use the exclude filter and also the nav. attr. Status in rows, then the query becomes input ready, but there are warning messges displaying when the query opens saying -
Characteristic Customer has no master data for "C1"
Characteristic Customer has no master data for "C2"
etc... (these are the customers with status D). We are on SP15.
Please suggest what should I do to get rid of these messages?

Navigational attribute issue-time dependent

Hi all,
I am working with 0PA_C01, I included some additional navigational attribute(time dependent )to 0employee, but when i am checking all these navigational attribute at cube level or Report , i can find only the latest values ,for eg i added Designation as a time dependent navigational attribute for 0employee, and the designation for a employee is changing after 12.2008 from VP to SVP ,at the cube   and also in the report i can find only the latest designation for all the calmonth ie before 12.2008 also as SVP .
I checked the the time dependent Navigational attribute option to make designation as a time dependent navigational attribute ,and also ran the attribute change run .
Can anyone suggest some information to fix it?

Dear Sandya,
Results correct only in your report. Time dependent attributes displyas data based on keydate. if no key date specified, system takes current date as key date and displays data.
So in your case latest data displaying. If you want to see any historic designations, you need to specify key date, which shold fall into that particular range.
Create a User entry variable for keydate and use.
Key date
Each query has a key date. For time-dependent data, the key date determines the time for which the data is selected. The default key date value is the date on which the query is executed, that is <Today>.
       1.      Click on the Key Date field. A dialog box with a calendar appears for you to select your key date.
       2.      Select a date from the calendar. If you select 01.01.1999 for example, time-dependent data is read from the 01.01.1999.
Note
The key date applies only to time-dependent data.

Navigational Attribute is not properly displaying

Hello,
We have a "Sales Group" navigational attribute YCUST_SAL-YSALE_GRP in a BW report. We have adjusted a sales group for a customer in R3 from F10 to E49 and hte same has been pulled to BW side,.
we have activated the master data manually and we are able to see the new data is available against the customer.
But when we refresh teh report, for that customer we are able to see only F10 as the sales group,.
For cross check, we have sales group display property also. where we are able to see E49.
Please let us know why we are seeing inconsistency between display and navigational attribute for a same infoobject.

It seems Master data is not activated properly....
Whether the query is fetching data from Aggregates, if so you have to do Attribute changerun for this infoobject
goto SE38 and run this program RSDDS_AGGREGATES_MAINTAIN it will Info object name...Provide your info object and execute...

Base Unit of Measure as Navigable Attribute

Any idea how to make the Base Unit of Measure 0BASE_UOM a navigable attribute for 0MATERIAL?

BASE_UOM is Generally added to the UNIT Dimension by default.
Where as Navigational attributes have to be added to drill down to further details in the Query.
So why do u need to make BASE_UOM as a Navigational attr.?
It is generally not required.

Navigational Attribute, no data in infocube.

I want to have navigational attribute for my infoobject 0orgunit which is an attribute of ZCREATOR. Here are the things which I have already done.
1.     In my infocube, I have navigational attribute checked under characteristics.
2.     In my infoobject ZCREATOR, I have navigational attribute as type NAV and not DIS under the attributes tab.
3.     Query again the master data and have manually run the attribute change run.
ohya, ZCREATOR is a reference characteristic of 0BPARTNER.
Anyway, in the infocube, when I load my data, the blue column which represents navigational attribute is empty. Is there something Im doing wrong? Please advice and thanks in advance.

You cant populate unless you derive the values in the update rules/transformations. The advantage of using nav attributes, is not to derive values on the cube level but will be able to use it on query level. If there will be a change in the masterdata, you need not go back to realign the data inthe cube if u r using nav attribute, as it would always read from the updated master data table.
2. in my query, i am using this charcteristics ZCREATOR__0ORGUNIT do display my navigational attribute, but still no data is available. its display empty field in the column.
a few checks:
is the nav attrribute available as a char in the query designer?
if so, when you expand the char, and click on the values - do u see any values?
if not the master data is not available.

Dashboard Navigational Attributes

I need to integrate a Dashboard in a Web Dynpro application and when I create a configuration for the component "SME_UIE_CHIP_DASHBOARD",
I am told to add as many navigational attributes for my chip as I have in my Dashboard.
Does any one know what is the role of dashboard navigational attributes and how to use them?

Its some mis-directional approach. Navigation attribute is concept of core BW.
What connectivity you are using in dashboard, based on that you approach will change.
iIn normal BW-> BI -> Portal scenario;
if you want to integrate Dashboard in Portal. you have use the opendoc link of the dashboard in a iview. SSO needs to be configured between BW, BO and enterprise Portal.

BW Navigation Attributes

Hey, all,
I'm just checking myself here -
We have a BW 3.5 system. We have 0GL_ACCOUNT set as authorizationally relevant. We have a object (Z_GLACCT) created and set with various value ranges for the different GL account sets.
The user reported an issue where she was able to run queries and workbooks without putting any GL account values in and it returned only the data for the GL accounts that she had authorization for. Now, if she runs them without inputting GL account values that she is authorized for, she gets an authorization error on Z_GLACCT. However, if she runs the queries with specific values for GL account that she is authorized for, the query/workbook runs fine.
We have made no changes to the security roles or the roles assigned to the user.
The only change that I can find is that one of our developers turned on the navigation attribute for 0GL_ACCOUNT. In the new 7x systems, there is a checkbox for making navigation attributes auth relevant but we do not have that in our BW 3.5 system.
Am I off base here in thinking that the change to the navigation attribute is probably causing our issue?

Is GL Account marked neccessary input in the variable screen ? That will cause the user to get error if you try to run query without input
My thought is "no". A user who has Z_GLACCT with a value of * can run the query with no input with no issues. It is only the user with specified values in Z_GLACCT who cannot run the query without inputting specific GL accounts that she has access to.
Please use authorization variable in the query for GL_ACCOUNT
We don't want this function working any differently than it was working previously so we don't want to add any levels of security. GL account is relevant but it should not require them to input on queries, it should pull data and then display only that which they have authority for.
As a precaution please mention : in the field values for Z_GLACCT along with the value range you have assigned to the user
I'm not sure what you are asking for here? We have told the user that if she enters the gl accounts she has access to, the query will run, however, we are in investigative mode. Obviously, a change was made that impacted the security functions. We need to know what it was.

Selection generated with Navigational Attribute and store forecast profile

Our business has a requirement that will require for the solution a Forecast Profile to be stored against a selection which was generated with a navigational attribute in the selection. I have found two SAP Notes 329707 and 394076 shown below which point to BAdi /SAPAPO/SDP_FCST5 method SEL_CHANGE to do the job. Can anyone help me in understanding what coding we need to do within the BAdi to get this to work. Does anyone have an example?

As of Release SCM 4.1, you can use the method SEL_CHANGE of the BadI /SAPAPO/SDP_FCST5 to process the selection before saving it to the generated selection tables. This allows you to save selections with navigation attributes, for example, where the selections do not have a specified basis characteristic. You simply need to delete the navigation attributes from the selection.

Is all the Navigational attribute checked for display during cube creatiion?

Guys,
I have requirement where in I need to use attribute of an attribute as a navigational attribute for a query on InfoSet.
I have InfoObject 0Employee in my Infoset. Org unit is attribute of 0Employee. and Area is in turn attribute of Org unit.
Now i want to use Area as navigational attribute in my query.
Is it possible?
