Navigator View: Slides have disappeared in side panel

Hi,
I typo'ed some bizarre set of keystrokes and the slides in the side panel disappeared from my Navigator view.
When I open a new doc -- they exist in that file. I've tried all the obvious -- switching views over and over (ok maybe that is compulsive -- not obvious), preferences, etc....
Any idea on how to make them come back? I was thinking about tossing my preference files -- but since the issue only exists in this presentation -- I am not sure that would do any good.

Try removing any transitions or builds on these slides, or delete the slides then recreate them as fresh slides.
There are many playback anomalies in Keynote 6 which Apple have said they will be sorting out next year.

NOTES, info side-panel

I include notes on events, esp important ones, before and after. I need to view them instantly in a side panel while browsing/scheduling ... w/o double-clicking, clicking 'edit', scrolling etc.
and notes are tags for the search function, which should be able to be continuously displayed.
I SWEAR an earlier version of iCal had all of this...

Sorry, but there was a lot of discussion on it when it disappeared (it was dropped in Leopard). Many people asked for it, but it has not reappeared and we are now on Leopard's seventh version. Soon we will have Snow Leopard, so you could wait and see if the the demand for the return has been sufficient, but I suspect if it was coming back it would be back by now. I have no idea why it went away.

Is side panel album artwork no longer visible in iTunes 11.x?

I have been frustrated by the inability to view album artwork in the side panel, for songs selected in list view. In iTunes 10.x, it was possible to add album artwork for a song (or group of songs) by dragging to the box on the side panel. Is this a thing of the past we have to adjust to, or am I missing a simple check box feature that allows the album artwork to be displayed in the side panel?

I'm having this problem too. The artwork was there and it doesn't matter if it's been sync'd to the iphone or not. The artwork has just gone missing. I have noticed that it also does this for the artwork on my TV shows. The TV shows were not purchased on iTunes but imported over. The artwork was there to begin with.
I have also noticed that if I 'Get Info' for the file in iTunes on either music or TV shows then the artwork come back.
However, I don't want to have to do this for all the files that are missing. For Info, it seems that around 10% of my artwork has suddenly gone missing.

Stupidest problem ever - side panel latch won't open!

has anyone had this problem?
the other day, I installed some new RAM and had no problem opening the side panel.
today, I want to put in some new hard drives - and the side panel latch just doesn't open!
I have no idea what could be causing this - it's just not opening. what could be inside that's preventing the latch from opening?

There are 4 latches located just above the hard drive bays and they fit into a channel located on the side panel. You may have installed the side panel on a very slight angle by not centering the bottom lip in in its matching slot, causing the latches to bind. The other explanation is the channel has loosened on the side panel.
I would lay the Mac on its side and slightly press on the side panel while opening the latch. If that doesn't work, you can attempt to shift the side panel in its slot. This can be done using a piece of wood and a hammer. Be careful though, you don't want to damage the Mac Pro's exterior or cause any internal damage.

Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels. Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer. I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation. I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC. I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots. Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes. Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond. In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images. After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data. (I have a screen shot to show this.) CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. How do I center the whole slide in navigator view?

New to iwork 08...how do I center the whole slide in navigator view (large pane)? The top and left edges do not show. Probably a simple answer but cannot find out how.

See benvu's comment above. I found this thread looking for a solution to the exact same problem. Say you want to animate an object such that it appears from off-slide and ends up in a pre-defined place. You do it by using an 'action build' on the object, of type 'move'. But because the slide itself is always jammed into the upper left-hand corner of the canvas, it's extremely awkward placing the initial position off-slide to the left or top. You can do it by first placing it and animating it fully on the canvas, then move it off the canvas - but you can never grab it back afterward to reposition it.
For those of us who love Keynote because it allows us to create cinematic presentations that are more artful communication than bog-standard bullet points spinning in from space (+à la+ PowerPoint), this sort of technique is invaluable and oft-needed.

Move slides left in navigator view's hierarchy

I'm using Keynote '08, and I have a presentation open in the standard 'navigator' view, and I have several slides (contiguous) that should really be their own group rather than under the current grouping of slides. Unfortunately, while keynote gives you the ability to click and drag slides in this view to the right to group them under the slides above it, it does not give you the ability to move them to the left, to make a new top-level group parent. Oddly enough, if you go to outline view, the slide I want to be the parent of this new group has its own top-level section in the outline (I think that is linked to the type of slide: it's a title slide), but how can I make these slides be their own, top-level, collapsible group in the navigator view?

So, I figured it out. You have to slide all of the proposed children rightward underneath the slide you wish to become the new parent, then collapse the group, and then the whole thing can be slid left.

The navigation arrows in the upper left corner of my Safari have disappeared.

From your Safari menu bar, top of your screen, click View > Customize Toolbar
Click and drag the Back / Forward icon up to your toolbar.

Next/previous slide in navigator view

I don't know if I'm just totally stupid, but I'm getting nowhere.
If I'm in Navigator view, and has mouse focus on the slide in the center window (not the lefthand sidebar with all slides listed), and I want to move to the next slide, I naturally click 'page down' - but it is not bound to 'next slide'! Has this always been the case, am I just in Powerpoint mode? No default shortcut to go to next/previous slide, really?
(I know I can create my own binding through the menu commands Go to > Next Slide etc.)

SAP Business Context Viewer & Side panel

Hello,
Did anyone implemented Business Context Viewer as a part of their SAP Landscape or planning to do so.
BCV-Side Panel looks to be a very good option for Dynamic reporting. Currently I have ECC 6.0 Ehp6 SAP Environment. Do I need to buy any extra license for this.
From my side I have activated the Business Functions Listed in the SAP Help. Though Side Panel appears on the screen but no data is getting reflected there. What extra settings need to be done to get the values reflect in Side Panel.
Please advise me the best approach in making this happen.

I can give a few suggestions on Photoshop CC 2014, but Lightroom is a separate forum and you should ask Lr questions there.
First close Photoshop.
Then start Photoshop by double-clicking on it's icon and very quickly after that, hold down the ctrl-alt-shift keys until you see the reset dialog. answer "Yes" to delete settings, and let Photoshop continue to load.
It's tricky to do and may take a few tries, but at least it should reset Photoshop CC 2014 to defaults.

PS elements 11 panels have disappeared

I am using PS elements 11 with MacBook Pro OS X 10.9.4. My panels have disappeared. The layers box in the windows tab is ticked. I have tried resetting panels and have uninstalled and reinstalled elements but there's no change. What can I do to get the panels back. Thank you in anticipation. Martin

My file names have disappeared in grid view. Thery have been replaced with a dark bar along the bottom of the previews. If I toggle using the command u it hide the bar but I still can't see the file name. In list view all the file names are OK.

The dark bar is caused by the option "Show metadata below image".
Check the settings for the metadata overlays in Grid view (basic and expanded) by clicking the little "badge" icon below the Browser and selecting "Edit". Is the filename still enabled in the list? And in a high enough position to have precedence for other metadata tags, if the space does not suffice to show all selected tags?

It is possible to turn on/off options within the Side Panel by Customization of Groups.
But it seems You cannot influence the way Web Intelligence present (minimized or Off) the Side Panel in the IE??
Is there a solution for this??
If not, it would be a nice property of a Web Intelligence document in a future release.
