Navigon app  updated, now saved locations gone!!

Silly me - I allowed a Navigon "update" (via the normal updates mechanism) and the new version appears to have wiped all my saved locations (Favorites). Is there any way of recovering these from an iPhone backup in iTunes?

You might try History ("Alt+S") > "Restore preivous session", then also from History afterwards "Restore Windows" > "Restore All Windows"
Whether you get them back or have to recreate them, I would suggest that you save them all in a bookmark folder so your restore them at once and pin them each, or altogether if you have the "Multiple Tab Handler" extension.
Although I don't have a problem with them disappearing when I start Firefox, they always seemed like a potential problem over time. I use them but I often do start them over from a bookmarked folder so the are "clean" only one page per app-tab.

  • Apps updates/downloads saved in wrong folder

    Hi,
I have just transferred my iTunes library to my new NAS (WD MyCloud). I simply copied over my entire iTunes folder from the iMac internal hard drive to the NAS, deleted all the content from iTunes and added everything back from the new location/folder. I also changed the iTunes Medial folder location in the Advanced Preference settings.
Everything seems to work fine with the exception of the App updates/downloads. Whenever I update an existing App or download a newone it will be saved in the old folder on the internal hard drive of my iMac.
    This drives me crazy...please help!
    Thanks in advance,
    Sebastien.

    Peter
    I think you mean +command shift s+ (Save As…).
When you *Save As…* you need to choose where to save your initial document, after that just saving will save it in the right spot.
Inside the *Save As…* dialog box you are free to navigate to other locations either within the column view or by clicking on the folder name at the top of the window, which will reveal the sets of folders enclosing the one you are in ie higher up the hierarchy. To go up the list, just scroll down the menu and let go at the folder you want to move to.
Also on the left of the *Save As…* dialogue box is your sidebar of frequent locations, you can click on those. To add your own folders to your Sidebar drag in their icon in Finder.
Also there is a *Search field* to the right of the folder name in the *Save As…* dialogue box, where you can look for folders or files to move to.
To help you move around more and have more choices at your finger tips, try:

*Default Folder X* is an enormous assist if you don't quite get the computer file system. It lets you click outside the Save dialogue on the folder you want to save to and it jumps there.

  • My App Updates page -- sort order gone?

In the last week or so, I've noticed that the app listing on the "My App Updates" page seems to have gone from sorted by app name to a nonsense scrambled mess. Has anyone else noticed this or is it something in my version of iTunes? I wonder whether Apple has done away with the sort because their update servers are becoming overloaded. I have had problems with that page not even displaying when the number of available updates exceeds around 200 (there are separate threads on that problem).

I've just noticed the same thing in My App Updates list too. It used to be alphabetical by app name, so you could easily find specific apps (in my situation often a list of over 100 updates). Now it's an utter jumble. Anyone else with this issue? Perhaps it is specific to Australia. In any case - why the change, I wonder? For my money, alphabetical is the only way to go.

  • App updates not saving in itunes?

Running itunes 11.01 using lion on my Imac. I have itunes on an external hard drive if it makes a difference.    On itunes, it always says I have apps to update, about 150 of them.  I download them and then they reappear next time I reboot my computer.   Almost as if its not saving my updates after I download them.   They are the same apps too.   I sync a couple of my Iphones with icloud but there is also a couple I sync directly with the mac.  Does anyone have any ideas on why its not saving my app updates?  I don't have any issues syncing my apps with the icloud directly on my phones.

I finally figured out what the issue is.
On iTunes, I found in my list of apps a few apps that I had deleted on my phone but these deletions did not synchronize properly with the computer. Look closely at your list and find the apps that are no longer on the phone but somehow are still on iTunes despite syncing.
It seems iTunes is still looking for updated for these old apps and when any are available they appear as "Available Updates". iTunes is drawing its update query from this list. But then when you click on the updates button, none appear because iTunes also seems to know that these apps are no longer on your phone.
In other words: this is a bug. For whatever reason Apple has not bothered to fix this for months now.
Solution: Go one and by one and delete on iTunes the ones you no longer have. Presto!

  • Why won't my apps update now that I have updated to iOS 7? The are stuck in "waiting." And how do I fix it?

I updated to the iOS 7 and now several apps, iBooks included, won't finish the update. I can't delete and re-download because they are stuck in "waiting." Also, I can't seem to reload apps sent to cloud back to my phone.
Storage isn't the issue because I have checked that. Or at least in the surface it doesn't appear to be. Any other trouble shooting ideas are appreciated.

I found that what worked to correct this issue on my iPhone 4S was to turn off automatic app updates. I went to Settings - iTunes & App Store - and under Automatic Downloads, switched Updates to off. My apps that were stuck in 'Waiting' immediately began downloading.
Although I would like to be able to use the automatic update feature, at least I found a fix to the 'waiting' issue for now.

  • Trying to update now iTunes is gone

I tried the most recent update and it didnt complete, now the iTunes icon is gone and in looking at the program files it won't appear there either.  In trying to reinstall it won't let me as I need to delete the previous program files first but I can't locate them to delete.  HELP!

Can you explain in a bit more detail what you are trying to do?
Are you running a windows update?
Or did you download a full version of iTunes and the process failed?
If you just did an update and it failed, have you tried to install iTunes using the full installer downloaded from Apple website?
    amberbrown wrote:
Yes, I understand all that, but if it is not listed there and the icon is not available on the desktop then there is no way to uninstall it and it will not allow me to reinstall as it says it must be installed first.

  • After changing passwords, my app updates now all require different passwords in order to update.

Whatever my password was at the time of the app download, it require that same password to update, even though it was since changed. How do I sync them so they all can be updated with the same password?

Phone the Apple Store and order Mac OS X 10.6.

  • I bought Foxtube app and now it's gone?!!

I bought Foxtube app sometime ago and now when I tried to reinstall it I couldn't because I have to buy it.
    Help me please
    Thank you.

I am not 100% certain in your case, but when things disappeared (apps, songs) and had to be "re-purchased" by me, the last step in the purchase process told me that there would be no charge.
The aggravating thing is that this bit of Vital Intelligence was withheld until I went all the way through the purchase process.
    Good luck.

  • N85 Update, now settings are gone!

Ok, I'm with orange just updated my n95 to v13. I took a back-up of everything but the settings because I thought it was just preferences.
The update went fine I think but now there is not settings option, now settings wizard, and I can't change themes
Can someone tell me how to fix and whats happened...please I'm desperate I need my phone ASAP.

    What do you mean settings?
Settings can be found under the tools folder.
Themes are usually under tools or they can be under Settings depending on the SW version.
Open Settings General then Personalisation then Themes.

  • I bought an app and now it's gone from my purchased list. What do I do to get it back?

I bought CHAOS RINGS Ω for iPad awhile back and I was able to download it to my iTunes but now it is not even my Purchased List.
    Order Number: MHGF979Q0D

Cook, this is the community forum. For problems with iTunes orders, you need to contact their Customer Support, either from iTunes, or from the receipt email.

  • Bought and app and now it's gone.

I bought Face Melter on my Iphone. I guess I never synced it before updating because it's not in my Itunes applications. When I tried to download it again it didn't recognize that I had bought it. What to do?

How do you know it doesn't recognize that you bought it? Is it because in iTunes it still shows "Buy" next to the application?
iTunes is dumb in the fact that it does not change "Buy" to "Download again" if you already own it. It will NOT charge you twice if you already bought it.
You can check to see if you already own it by going to your Purchase History through your iTunes account.

  • Itunes phone app update now I cannot pause or fastfoward the songs in itunes library

I updated Itunes from my phone on the Appstore recommendation of available updates. All of a sudden I cannot pause, play or fastfoward the podcast or lectures I select to listen to. I can only play from the begining and stop. the format of the screen changed where when i click on it a block toggles around to a play symbol. it use to take me to a blank screen for audio lectures that had a pause, rewind, foward or drag and play bar. Can I uninstall this update or reverse this?

iTunes refuses to play/read file, it cannot recognizes headers, or recognizes those as corrupt, but giving no error messages. The problem is the stored artwork(s) on your music files. To correct this, select the files that are corrupted/cannot be played on iTunes&iPod, click "Convert ID3 Tags...", then select v1.1 from the dropdown box (first, try this on a few to see that my solution is working).
By doing so, iTunes replaces headers, but your ID3 tags will not be changed (I assume you are using ID3 v2.4), nor you'll lose any info or anything else. This works as a hotfix for those files. If you try to replace headers via another program, your information will be truncated, and any artwork stored will be deleted. So I recommend this one.
You'll see that iTunes cannot play most of the files that has artwork(s) stored in them. New version hasn't fixed this problem, and it has risen with iTunes 8.2.x. If it's going to take long, I suggest you should go back to 8.1.x.
    With best regards,
    lyravega, goekhan.
