Navy knowledge online classes on mac osx 10.8.3

I'm able to log into NKO with my CAC but several of the courses I'm enrolled in won't display properly.  I've read that NKO is configured for IE.  Has anyone else had this problem?

fredo --
Have you tried Firefox?  Or if you enable the "Show Developer" in your Safari preferences, you can choose to emulate IE there.
Unforunately, many of the governental/ military sites were programmed to not meet the industry standards, and do, therefore, have a problem with Safari.  You could also let the Webmaster on that site know that it's not that hard to bring the site up to standards.

where is button to accept end user agreement so I can download or read online file.  mac osx reader XI
every time i click  on a file to downloac
i get a reader message Before viewing PDF ... you must launch adobe reader and then accept the End User License Agreement. Ive searched  every part of the menu for this and cant fine it

Ok, so the Reader app works. Fine, but why did you say ",the reader won't open any more", that led us a confusing direction.
Ok, the problem is most likely caused because you downloaded Acrobat Pro, which takes over from Reader, then got rid of it. You now have part of Acrobat in Safari, not part of Adobe Reader.
There are two things to try to fix this. The first and easiest is to download and install Adobe Reader again. That should puts its stuff back in Safari with a bit of luck.
Important note for others following this thread. Downloading Adobe Reader is not going to help you if you have not understood and followed the instructions to "launch" Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat). Make sure you understand what "launch" means before downloading anything again.

  • Having issues with NKO (Navy Knowledge online). The main site is a trusted site but you try to login with cac or go to links with in like E-learning it says the certificates are not trusted

I love firefox but I am having some issues opening some sites military related. NKO (www.nko.navy.mil) is a trusted site but if you attempt to log in with cac there is no trusted cert. • FF8 doesn't show online content, just local (off-line) content; Other browsers shows online content. (MAC OSX Lion)

I just posted a few weeks ago this
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/894108
I follow up the guides that I mentioned in there, without success.
    My Problem:
By example, I can navigate through a Site on Chrome, I saved a complete page content to my local machine from Chrome ... Then, I open this page on firefox and I can see the content. When I visit the site directly from FF, the page area keep in white background, any content is displayed.
    Any suggestions, idea, tip, hint?
    Rgds,
    iVieL

    Ok, finally FF8 works.
In other posts, people said that I must check for firewalls or antivirus rules/restrictions. Well, I did, I disabled my native firewall without any luck. I have installed Little Snitch, and I disabled too for test FF8 connectivity ... any success reach neither.
Just today I found a post in some forum, that literally said:
"To anyone that's still having problems, it may be because you have Little Snitch 2.4.0 installed. This is a known bug for that version. Try updating to 2.4.2."
I was using 2.4.0 version, and just update to the last one ... but FF8 still no works ... lol ... I just decide to disable it, and FF8 works perfectly. Now I just delete all my Little Snitch rules.
This fix the problem, but I don't be sure that the update fix the problem or just the Little Snitch's rules clean.

Your Mac is definitely one of the supported models? http://www.apple.com/uk/osx/specs/
If so, what happens when you try to download? Is it a case of nothing happens? If so, take a look at the suggestions under 'Stalled Download' in this link:
    http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2013/10/mavericks-issues-and-fixes/#slideid-23477 1
Also, some usrs have found that logging out of the Mac App Store and then back in again and starting over has kick-started the download. It seems that the 5+gb download can take a long time to give any feedback as to what's happening.

    Guitar21,
your MacBook Pro has booted into its Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities menu, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Does it get to the login screen now?

Hi, I'm using MAC OSX 10.6.8 and have intermittent issues with receiving new emails - sending is OK. I've tried the workarounds (take offline & take online), quitting mail etc - no luck. Have cleared space, checked Window - Doctor and server has green light.  Mail Activity shows 47 emails waiting to download, iPad and iPhone download them all OK - no extra big files stopping the download either.    In the past, quitting mail has worked, but not today... Any suggestions?

  • 10.1.3.2.0 Mac OSX Freezes building class list

When I launch JDev 10.1.3.2.0 on Mac OSX, the status bar on the bottom of the app says "Building class list for project "ProjectName.jpr" and the animated status bar keeps cycling.
My CPU is at 100% and the java process is taking most of it.
If I remove the project from the application and restart JDev, everything is fine. The moment I add the project back into the application tho, it is stuck again.
This happened when I went to the application properties, and added two more JAR files to the application.
I have since removed these JAR files from the application, and removed them from the disk where they were... Still does not resolve the problem.
I have searched the forums, and can see that there was a problem with the preferences in the IDE, and deleting the preferences file fixed the issue - that's not the case for me. I tried to delete the file and restart, but I get the same results.
Short of reinstalling JDev, I'm not sure what to do...
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

It seems it was my error. After a few hours of debugging, I discovered that I had accidentally added "/" to the JAR Directory path - JDev was trying to search my entire hard drive for JAR files to add. I removed this entry, and all worked again...
Should the "Add Directory" function not limit itself to the selected directory instead of all sub-directories listed?
    Thanks

I am running mac OSX 10.5.8 and need to upgrade to icloud.....I know I need to purchase a later operating system but what do I need to do and how??
Also my disc drive is broken and any upgrades/updates will need to be done online....

We need more info about your Mac to see if it will even be capable,
So we know more about it...
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac,  report OSX version, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware> and report this upto but not including the Serial#...
    version 10.7.3
    Hardware Overview:
    Model Name: iMac
    Model Identifier: iMac7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 4 MB
    Memory: 6 GB
    Bus Speed: 800 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: IM71.007A.B03
    SMC Version (system): 1.21f4
You'll need to buy SL/10.6 first & get it to 10.6.8, then get Lion... if you can run it. But then you'd need another Mac with a good Disc Drive & Firewire on both.
Or if you can erase your disk...

  • Does my iMac fit the requirements to take online classes?

My computer is OS X 10.5.8 & it has a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. And these are the requirements for taking online classes. I have bolded the items that I am wondering about.
    Mac computer
    G4 processor
    OSX Panther
    256 mg RAM
    Internet Connection —
       DSL or cable
    Word Processing Application
    Email Account
    Netscape 7.x or
    Internet Explorer 6.x or
    Browser able to read frames
    CD ROM drive

Well, the problems you are having might be that you have new applications(higher requirements) that your iMac can't handle. Try upgrading your memory. you can get the OS in itunes or apple store through purchase history.

  • Firefox no longer working with Mac OSX 10.4.11

i'm using Mac OSX 10.4.11 and Firefox 3.6.12. As i understand it any of ur upgrades no longer work with this computer system. ( I tried to upgrade last week and ur site said upgrades no available gfor my platform version. Last week every time i conducted a search (default Google) i was redirected to http://search.creativecommons.org/?q=crossword+puzzles&sourceid=Mozilla-search.what gives? Have I been hijacked? also sites that I use daily are clipped and entire pages are smaller than usual . see www.shockwave.com
If u are no longer supporting Mac users, please let us know in advance or at least post it on ur site. Can no longer use Firefox...

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Cmd+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
    Firefox > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
If you open about:crashes, you should get links to online crash reports. You could post some of the crash IDs for review by volunteers here.
Given the timing, another issue might be some ads or media in the page. There are some add-ons to block such things...

  • I am a new mac user and I switch to mac due to the graphics that it brings. I do website in pc and I heard iweb is the best.NOW i heard that iweb will be discontinue. so what is the best application there for website using MAC OSX lion?

I am a new mac user and I switch to mac due to the graphics that it brings. I do website in pc and I heard iweb is the best.NOW i heard that iweb will be discontinue. so what is the best application there for website using MAC OSX lion?

It is now confirmed  that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken.  If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows.  Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone.  How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.
This might be of some interest to you at this time: Life After MobileMe.

  • ITunes won't open after update; MacBook Pro, Mac OSX 10.6.8, iTunes version 11.1.5

iTunes won't open after update - help, please; MacBook Pro, Mac OSX 10.6.8, iTunes version 11.1.5.

i had a problem similar to yours and better yet, i have the fix for it. i downloaded maverick 4 months ago and was without itunes ever since. all itunes icon did was bounce. itunes would never open and whats more, is when i would try to update it, i would get a "thank you for downloading itunes!" page , but the download would never work. so i scoured the net for solves. nothing that worked. <4 months later> then last night i took a new approach. i decided even though maverick would not allow me to uninstall itunes, i would find a way to uninstall itunes. then i would reinstall back to 11.1.5 i was successful and heres what i did.
    step one-
Back up your iTunes Library.itl file, found under ~/Music/iTunes
(even tho i didnt, i only had 3 artists in there at the time. and they didnt get erased but i advise you back up just in case.)
    step two-
download itunes 10.7 from apple. i used this link Download it from Apple here
(i pulled the link from Aarons website (awesometast.com). you download 10.7 however you want but i used the link above and have had no issues).
although im not sure you need to do this step ( you may be able to download 11.1.5 itunes without 10.7, i did because i was following intructions from http://awesometoast.com/downgrading-to-itunes-10-7-from-itunes-11-on-osx/
    step 3-
    open Terminal
    step 4-
enter in these 3 commands hitting return after each line. 1st line nothing seems to happen, 2nd line nothing seems to happen and 3rd line gives you a warning and requires password to continue. when i did it, my password didnt appear as i entered it and i hit return without looking, so i entered it in again, although im not sure i had to the 2nd time.
    killall iTunes
    killall "iTunes Helper"
    sudo rm -rf /Applications/iTunes.app/
    step 5-
drag off and dump the itunes icon (which now has the ? shadow in it) off your dock.
    step 6-
install 10.7 itunes you downloaded earlier. (not sure if this part is neccesary. you may be able to just download 11.1.5 but i downloaded 10.7 because i was following Aarons steps.) itunes now works.
    step 7-
go to apple and update to 11.1.5 itunes. install it. open it and you have itunes 11.1.5 in perfect working order. assuming you have a decent internet speed for the downloads, the whole process takes very little time.
with those steps above, you can solve itunes just bouncing and not launching issues and also the "thank you for downloading" and nothing downloads issue. enjoy. also i would like to give a shout out to http://awesometoast.com and thank Aaron for the knowledge that enabled me to get itunes back into my life.
