NBA Playoffs on Apple TV?

Anyone know if there's a way to watch the NBA playoffs on Apple TV? I have League Pass but I'm assuming all of the games will be blacked out due to deals with TNT, ABC, ESPN, etc. I don't have cable and don't need it other than wanting to watch NBA. I would gladly pay a per-game fee to watch the playoffs but as far as I know this option is not available.
I do have an iPad and a MacBook Pro, so I'm wondering if the only option is to find a site that is streaming the video (not using Flash on the iPad), then AirPlay it to my TV?
Any work around suggestions?

NBA Playoff Coverage

The NBA playoffs have started with 2 or 3 games games every day, however there are 4 games on this week (22nd to 29th April) from a possible 28. While the beginning of the Baseball season is showing at least 9 games during the same period, none of which have any real meaning at this stage of a 162 game season. Whereas every nba game at this time actually matters and has a bearing.
Safe to say BT Sports NBA playoff coverage is a joke!

Well this is what was stated about the BT NBA coverage
The agreement will see up to 200 games throughout the season, appearing across BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN. There will be up to seven live games per week throughout the regular season and the first and second rounds of the NBA Playoffs, as well as every game of the Conference Finals, culminating in the NBA Finals in June

Yes they do appear to be a few games short of their maximum coverage for the first week of the playoffs - I suspect that might in part be due to the schedules for the playoff games being finalised after BT had commited to showing other programmes.

NBA content on Apple TV

Hey everyone,
So, I was pretty excited to see the newest Apple TV update has access to NBA.com content. Unfortunately, it seems that when I am accessing any of the game recaps or highlights that the Apple TV loads very slow. I have no trouble streaming Netflix content, and all of my iTunes content streams without issue, but the NBA stuff takes some time to load. I should mention that I am not a League Pass subscriber, though i probably will be next season, so i don't know how well the Live Streaming works. I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing similar issues, and if not, any suggestions would be appreciated.

im interested in purchasing a NBA-Team Pass. On my Apple TV there only is the possibility to buy a NBA-League Pass. Can I also use a Team-Pass (purchased on nba.com) for only watching one Teams games? Is Apple TV automaticly recognizing the Team/Games I'm allowed to watch?

I though that might be the case.
AppleTV needs an HDMI connection - I suspect your other devices may have other connectors you could use or may use already.
If all three or two use HDMI out you could consider:
1 - an HDMI switch
2 - an AV amplifier with multiple HDMI inputs and an HDMI output to the TV
3 - manually swap HDMI cables! (I do this frequently with one of our TVs)
4 - this as an excuse for a new TV with more HDMI inputs!
You are unlikely as I mentioned earlier to be able to link AppleTV to either the cable box or DVD player via HDMI and the use a different output to hook up to the TV.

Hi Im a massive NBA fan and following playoffs as well also one of the reasons ive got BT so
i could watch NBA but now when tryed to look up for games so i could record them it appears there is none in near week! Just recently in program list there was quite a few of the games but now cant find any...Where are they, is BT Sport going to show them? Thanks

I watched the Cavaliers vs Bulls game last night on BT Sport which was a classic game and afterwards when I was eagerly checking the BT Sport schedule for when the next game would be I was shocked/confused/gutted to find ONLY the following listed:
Wednesday 30 May: Draft Lottery - 1.30am (BT Sport 1)
Friday 26 June: NBA Draft - 12.30am (BT Sport)
Does anyone know if that really is the end of BT sport's game coverage for the season? Really really poor service if it is. It would be like stopping the premiership coverage with a month to go. If I'm wrong, does anyone know how to watch the games on BT Sport? If I'm right, can someone from BT Sport please add to this post and explain the "strategy" behind this? As I can't imagine a more frustrating plan of sport coverage.

How do I get NBA access on Apple TV 3? Won't let me "sign up"

I just bought AppleTV 3 for the purpose of stop missing the NBA games. I set it up and it says I need to create an account at www.nba.com/appletv. I go there, and there appears to be no way to set up an account? How do I get access to the NBA app features? Primary reason for the purchase but I can't figure it out.

TNT Pixellation - Can't watch the 2010 NBA Playoffs!

We are in the DFW area - this is the only channel that is unwatchable on our FIOS. It started about 3 to 4 days ago. Is anyone else having this problem? We have done all the steps it tells us to troubleshoot the issue (the instructions that pop up on the screen). Obviously something else is detecting the problem, but nothing we do corrects it.

Each channel is on its own frequency. when you have a loose, dirty, or otherwise bad connector, it will allow in interference, This affects some frequencies but not others. TNT is likely on one of those that get affected. There are usually 3 or 4 channels per frequencies, but likely that is the only one that you watch and notice.

NBA League Pass on Apple TV

I am trying to activate NBA League Pass on my Apple TV. It asks you to type in your Access ID and Password. I miss-typed my Access ID (which is my email) and it will not let me go back and change it. It only will allow me to enter in a password. Any ideas? I cannot see anywhere to reset it. Thank you!

My experience is the same as BlaStar's. From the moment I bought my AppleTV in September up until two days ago, I could watch summer league and preseason game highlights by selecting the NBA icon in Apple TV and then selecting Game Highlights, Now, when I select Game Highlights, I get a message reading, "NBA is unavailable. Try again later."
(@ Brian Cook4: The icon is there and the other selections (standings, etc.) go where they're supposed to. It's just game highlights that has stopped working.)
I have a ticket open with NBA League Pass. They tried to close it with a canned reply about how League Pass doesn't include preseason games. I reopened it by observing that the reply was nonresponsive to the question - which is about the now-disappeared ability to watch game highlights, not the never-present ability to watch preseason games.

Apple TV and NBA League Pass

As of January 23, 2012 does this work in the USA? I can not find any information on the NBA LPB and Apple TV. The only information I can find are from last year and how it does not work worth a hoot. Can anyone confirm that if I were to buy a new ATV today if I could be watching NBA games tonight (given I have the correct subscription with the NBA, etc) or if it would just be a hassle that may not work and if it does, constantly "buffer".

It works, and you can do it, but if you have any other option, I would not recommend it. I feel foolish ditching our satellite and buying an ATV solely to watch NBA LP. It's 15 seconds of game time, then 60 seconds of buffering. It's not my connection because it streams fine on my laptop.
I feel like a guinea pig that paid for the experience just so Apple can disappoint me, and so the NBA can slowly kill my enthusiasm for the game.
