It is not clear if you are talking about Database R12 or E-Business Suite R12. In either case, this is not a Discoverer product question. You may wish to enter your question into a different forum.

  • Error when installing virtual appliance for r12.2.4

    Hello
    I have downloaded Oracle Virtual Appliance for Oracle  E-Business r12.2.4 in a following step by step manner but I am running into an error.  As per the readme, I have gone through the Note:1928303.1 but it does not address the issue.
    That said, is there any comprehensive, step by step document that outlines installation and implementation of Oracle Virtual Appliance for r12.2.4?
    Below are steps I ran.
    Step 1:  Downloaded and Installed Oracle Virtual Box version 4.3.22.
    Step 2:  I want to install Oracle EBS r12.2.4 single node installation on My Windows 8.1 64 bit laptop with 1 TB of HDD and 8GB RAM.
    Step 3:  Downloaded following files for single node vision appliance.
    There are two zip files for each part, so I downloaded total 16 zip files.
    V52470-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 1 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52471-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 2 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52472-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 3 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52473-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 4 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52474-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 5 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52475-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 6 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52476-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 7 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52477-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 8 of 8) Linux x86-64
    Step 4:  Unzipped these files
    Step 5:  After unzip, unzipped filename looked like following.  So I removed the last digit in the extension so that Oracle virtual box can recognize .ova extension.
    Unzipped file name:
    Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL.ova.01
    renamed to
    01_Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL.ova
    Step 6. In Oracle virtual box, attempted to import these ova files using "Import Appliance".   This is when I am getting following error.
    Oracle VM Virtual Appliances for Oracle E-Business Suite (Linux)
    Failed to import appliance C:\ova\EBS\INSTALLATION OPTIONS\Option 1 Single Node ALL\0_Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL.ova.
    Could not create the imported medium 'C:\Users\ova\VirtualBox VMs\Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL\Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL-disk1.vmdk'.
    VMDK: Compressed image is corrupted 'C:\Users\ova\Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL-disk1.vmdk' (VERR_ZIP_CORRUPTED).
    Result Code:  (0x80BB0004)
    Component: Appliance
    Interface: IAppliance {3059cf9e-25c7-4f0b-9fa5-3c42e441670b}
    This is happening with each and every file in above list.
    Please advise what am I missing?  And if there is a comprehensive document somewhere that outlines details about implementation.  The above mentioned metalink note is not enough.
    Darsh

    You need to merge all of the downloaded files first, before importing into Virtualbox. Google for my blog for detailed steps.

  • Technical document on P2P  & O2C for R12

    Hi All,
    I need a technical document on Procure to pay cycle and order to cash cycle for R12. In which the process of these cycles and the information about the base tables getting effected by each step is explained.
    Thanks

    By CDC are you referring to Change Data Capture?
    If so, do a search on "Change Data Capture" at http://tahiti.oracle.com, where all the Oracle documentation lives, and you'll get plenty of information. The change data is exposed in a series of tables, so there's no special client-side API-- just querying the appropriate tables & views.

  • What is forms builder version for R12  ? prob. for 6i forms  ?

    hi..guys..
    Currently we have oracle apps..11.5.10-----> forms version 6i
    Now, we are upgrading apps to R12...so all the custom forms which are in 6i needs to be migrated to forms 10g so they can be compatible with oracle EBS release 12.
    So, I am opening forms which were created using 6i in form builder 10g. Then getting connected with the database created for R12...so it takes R12 library references...so at this time forms builder 10g is crashing......
    I am using FORMS 32 BIT VERSION 9.0.4.0.19 (PRODUCTION)..Oracle Developer Suite 10g...to modify and compile 6i forms...so I can put them on R12 instance...
    Problem is everytime I try to compile 6i form after opening it in 10g forms builder, it crashes ....so what is the best way to compile 6i forms to make them compatible with R12 ....?
    thanks...

    Does this happen to all forms or certain ones only?
    You need to open the forms in Form Builder 10g (Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2)), compile it, save it then upload it back to the server.

  • Jdev for R12.1.1 fails with java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hi All,
    We upgraded our 11i environment to R12 version 12.1.1
    As mentioned in metalink note 787209.1, I downloaded Patch 8431482 10G Jdeveloper with OA Extension ARU for R12.1.1 and followed all the setup steps.
    When I run the Tutorial.jpr, the page is throwing java.lang.NullPointerException. I tried this on 3 different dev boxes and am getting the same error.
    Wondering if any one was able to successfully install this version of Jdeveloper (Jdeveloper: Studio Edition Version 10.1.3.3.0.3,
    Build JDEVADF_10.1.3.3.0_NT_RELEASE)
    I made sure that:
    1) The user account has got OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial and OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial Labs responsibility attached to it.
    2) There is no problem with the database connection.
    3) Preferences --> Embeded oc4j and the Default Local IP Address is checked
    4) Am using updated DBC file and removed "/" from DBC file.

    Just an update:
    I was able to successfully setup and run the earlier version of Jdev from "Patch 7523554 10G Jdeveloper With OA Extension ARU for R12 RUP6" against R12.1.1.
    I still am getting the same error when I try to reinstall "Patch 8431482 10G Jdeveloper with OA Extension ARU for R12.1.1".
    Hoping to hear from anyone out there who has R12.1.1 and is able to run 8431482 Jdev.
    Also is there any downside in using Jdev for R12.0.6 against R12.1.1?

  • List Randomizer Macro for Word 2010

    Way back with Word '97 one of my students wrote a convenient macro for randomizing lists of words.
    Briefly, the list was highlighted and the Macro button (or keystrokes) pushed - and the list was nicely randomized.
    I do not have this Macro anymore and need a similar one for Office 2010 32 bit (MS Word only).
    Note: I am well aware of online randomizers as well as using Excel to randomize a list. However, I wish to eliminate time/energy wasted steps and randomize word lists within Word 2010 itself.
    Any suggestions?

    One approach is:
    Sub Demo()
    Dim Rng As Range, i As Long
    Dim StrIn As String, StrOut As String, StrTmp As String
    Randomize Timer
    Set Rng = Selection.Range
    StrIn = Rng.Text
    StrIn = Trim(StrIn) & " "
    While UBound(Split(StrIn, " ")) > 0
      i = UBound(Split(StrIn, " "))
      StrTmp = Split(StrIn, " ")(Rnd(i)) & " "
      StrOut = StrOut & StrTmp
      StrIn = Replace(StrIn, StrTmp, "")
    Wend
    StrOut = Trim(Trim(StrOut) & " " & StrIn)
    Rng.Text = StrOut
    Rng.Select
    End Sub
    The above assumes a list separated by spaces. For lists separated by paragraph breaks or tabs, insert:
    StrIn = Replace(StrIn, vbCr, " ")
    or:
    StrIn = Replace(StrIn, vbTab, " ")
    before:
    StrIn = Trim(StrIn) & " "
    and insert a corresponding:
    StrOut = Replace(StrOut, " ", vbCr)
    or:
    StrIn = Replace(StrOut, " ", vbTab)
    before:
    Rng.Text = StrOut

  • BW Macros for Advanced Formatting of BEX Reports

    Hi BW Gurus,
    Would like to bring to ur attention for a small solution which i have proposed for SAP Tech Ed. As a BW consultant, you would have come across a situation where you had to decide a reporting tool that was flexible, reliable, user friendly, less expensive and that can be used with less training but still have all the features of Excel.
    Topic : BW Macros for Advanced Formatting of BEX Reports
    Abstract : The workshop will help you to provide advanced formatting with Bex Reports. You will also learn how to add and retain Formats in Bex reports with BW Macros. Advanced formatting includes retaining of formats with excel shawdow boxes, automatic print settings, comments, hiding rows or columns, adding calculations, changing color, maintaining report titles. etc.  The solution will help the business users/ power users to maintain different formats of a report without going for any 3rd party tools like Crystal or Business objects. As most of the business users are familiar with Excel, it would be easy for them to maintain or change the reports rather depending on IT for each change.

  • Development Tools for R12

    Hi,
    I am positive this has been answered before on Metalink but I can't seem to get the definitive answer from metalink nor can I find one in the Forums here. So, here is the question again.
    We will be upgrading from 11.5.10 to R12.1.3 on Linux later this year. I am in the process of getting all the following development tools necessary for our R12 development on Windows clients. So, I need to install the appropriate patched versions of these dev tools on Windows 7/Windows XP machines to work with our Apps R12.1.3 going forward. Metalink suggested that I follow the link in note "437878.1 - Upgrading OracleAS 10g Forms and Reports in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12". I still could not understand whether I need to install Developer Suite 10.1.2 and apply the patch listed in the note or Install Oracle Application Server 10.1.2 (from OTN?) and apply the patch listed in the note to bring the tools up to 10.1.3 version. This is where my confusion lies. Again this is separate from the middle tier software for R12 - this is for client development that will then be FTPed to middle tier and compiled there/

    2. Oracle BI Publisher - What version and where do I get this from?

    Thanks in advance for any leads or direction.

  • Macros for PNPCE LDB.

    Hi,
    I am currently working on a program that uses PNP LDB.I want to use PNPCE instead of PNP in order to improve the performance of the program.
    Will the macros defined in the current program for PNP work for PNPCE also?If not then how can I get the macros for the same functionality for PNPCE?
    When I tried to change PNP to PNPCE, but made no changes to the macros, then I got an error that "space" is not recognized.Could you please help me understand how to solve the problem?
    Thanks.
    Sandeep.

    Hi,
    pelase go to transaction SE36
    enter PNPCE as LDB
    Read the available documentation.
    Macros in PNCE must be written with _ instead of -.
    And if you only want to have the new features like better selection screen but you do not need CE, let your report run in PNP-mode (more details in the documentation)
    Kind regards,
    Michael
