NCS Block/Limit Alarms?

I am stumped on this one.  Our campus is switching over to NCS from WCS.  The system is great overall but I cannot find a method to reduce alarms.  If I have an AP I use for testing, and then disconnect it - I will get alerts every 30 minutes pretty much no matter what I do short of deleting the AP.  I don't want to reduce "disassociated" AP alarm to the point that I don't get critical alarms.  Also I have tried placing this "test" AP in a maintenance state, but I still seem to get alarms on it...any other ideas?  Preferably I would like to just reduce alarm time from 30 minutes to a longer time period, or block alarms totally on certain items.

I see two place to configure alarms
Monitor-->Alarms
Can Aknowledge, Assign, etc.  Can enable or disable email alerts
Administration-->Settings-->Severity Configuration.  Can change severity level for various alarms.
I have not been able to find anywhere to change re-occurence time.  I would like to get the alerts that I am getting - but maybe every say 120 minutes instead of every 30 minutes...
Thanks
~Tom

  • Call block limit

I am nearing the call blocking limit on my Comcast phone. What is Comcast doing to expand or make limitless this feature. To protect the shrinking landline use i would think Comcast would address the issue of predaroy foreign sammers who laugh at FCC rules.

Yes, I already knew that and in my area I'm  nearing the 25 limit. Please bring this issue up at a higher level as millions of Comcast voice customers,if polled, would express the same concern over these malevolent scammers. Thanks for the acknowledgment. I'm a customer same as you....I volunteer my time to help others in these forums....   I added NOMOROBO to my Voice Services which cut out 99% of the known spammers/spoofers...  Maybe you might want to take a look at them...   www.nomorobo.com    It works on Comcast's system.

  • Custom limit&alarm on iSPC Chart

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to set up a custom limit inside an iSPCChart.
If I look the iSPCChart display template configuration, under "Upper Chart Spec. Limits" Template Catagory I find:
Upper Spec. Limit of Upper Chart User
    Target of Upper Chart User
Lower Spec. Limit of Upper Chart User
    Show Upper User Specification Limits
    Show Upper User Target
In your opinion, could I use those properties to reach my aim?
If the value of my custom limit is a variable, could I pass it through scripting?
Once I set up the limit into dispaly template, how can I activate alarm on it's violation? It's not present in "Alarms" Template Category...
Another option in my mind it is to tricky use the Control Limits configuration as a custom limit (probably my process will not need to be scouted on control limits too). Following this solution, could I rename the legend object somehow displaying a meaningful label ?
    best regards

If I'm not mistaken, when the User limits were added to the chart it was more for 'what if' type views for interacting with the chart (drawing and visualizing up to the 3 user spec lines), and alarming was not part of this because there is no 'SPC Rule' (WECO or Nelson) that would be applicable to these unofficial spec limits.
You could script the values (setUpperUserXXXX would be the method pattern for the chart object), and provide the user with a 'what if my specs were x,y,z' preview option.
Using the Control limits would provide you with alarming needs, and since in most cases you would try to 'control' your process in a tighter bandrange within your 'specification' bandrange, but the legend characters are not editable.  A custom legend would be another option if you chose to go this route.

  • Why is there only a 10-number block limit on incoming calls?

Verizon has failed to stop many call violations of the Do Not Call laws, particularly allowing callers to fake their ANI identification. Except for legitimate reasons, such as law enforcement, domestic violence, or other exceptions, no call should be completed that does not match the actual origin. That aside, we who continue to be awakened from sleep, dinners interrupted, and run to the phone only to find the call is another pan handler violating the law, we have to take action into our own hands. Why is it then, that Verizon has a limit of only 10 numbers that can be blocked? And why can we not block entire area codes and exchanges so a boiler room cannot keep changing numbers with the same area code?
Please, Verizon, give us more options to manage our own calls until the day you have the smart technology in place to limit illegal calls.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Seconding what TimeVoyager states here.  I have signed up for the Do Not Call Registry (for whatever good that has done) and still get at least 3-4 telemarketer calls per day.  If Verizon allows us to block 10 numbers, how difficult could it be to bump that limit up to 50 or more, or better yet, provide some flexibility in blocking entire NPA/NXX combinations as the telemarketers typically have number ranges and/or frequently change their numbers to dodge the simple blocking schemes.  Perfect solution for me would be a system that allows for users to manage a single list that contains white listed numbers that pass through, black-listed numbers that get blocked, ordered in priority of execution (very similar to how email SPAM blockers work).  An updated interface would be a boost too (as the current one is a little clunky) so that users could very quickly add/edit/delete numbers from the tool itself and even an option to white/black list numbers directly from your call log.  The current 10 number limit is not enough.  I am at the point where I am questioning the value of my land line as the inconvenience of the unwanted calls far outweighs the convenience of having the line for the few times I use it for legit calls each week.  Strongly considering dumping my voice plan when my bundle is up for renewal if this is not somehow addressed as again, how hard could it be for Verizon to simply increase the limit from 10 to a much large number?

  • Nilsa_VZ , i want to reply to your post "Incoming Call Block Limit Increased to 100 from 10" but...

you created a locked post in a new thread? how can you get any meaningful feedback like that?
i wanted to ask why i get error when i try to store more than 10 thru the myfios tv onscreen menu, while
i can enter more than 10 numbers thru use of web interface. do you know how i can get my fios tv onscreen
menu to accept and store more than 10 numbers to block calls from?

  • Calendar appointments is blocking my alarm clock

    Hi everybody,
I just missed a couple of wake up calls from my alarm clock because a calendar notification was raised before the alarm clock. After I removed the calendar notification I then got the alarm clock? pretty wired!
Can somebody please tell me what to do? Pretty annoying not getting up in the morning, my employer is starting to hate me  heheh……
    Cheers,
    Jesper

Nice to know I'm not the only one! This just happened to me this morning and I thought it was wierd too. Make sure you submit a bug report to get Apple's attention on this, it needs to be fixed.

  • WAAS conection limit alarm

    Hi,
I have a waas solution implemented, where the both (Datacenter and Edge) are in inline mode. The WAE in Datacenter side is viewing all connections from the others sites of the WAN where there is not a WAE in there, so that connections are in PT becouse "Not Peer".
These days we started to see a minor alarm: "1 max_conn_overload sysmon accl=TFO". We don't see this alarm from the Edge WAE, only from Datacenter WAE.
Could be that DC WAE takes in account the PT connections? if the answer is yes, Can this overload make that the WAE stop the optimization when new connections arrive until the number of connections go down?
    Thanks in advanced!!!
    Celeste

Thanks for the update, can you check one more thing on your WAE-Tronador box? can you do the following command?
    find-pattern match "Routing Loop" syslog.txt
We are looking for the following enteries similar to "opt_syn_rcv: Routing Loop
detected - Packet has our own devid. Packet dropped."
Also, do "sh stat auto" and look for the entry:
    Auto discovery Miscellaneous
SYNs found with our device id: XX
If you see that counter incrementing, you may be hitting DDTS: CSCsx68058 "Routing loops at the core can cause TFO overload on the WAE " If this is the case, then you need to inspect you interception at the core to ensure that you are not re-intercepting traffic egressing the WAE on the router.
Let me know if this is the case or we can keep searching.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • Calendar appointments blocking my alarm clock alerts

    Hey all,
Have imported my Outlook calendar appointments into iPhone so have tons of appointments (and their associated reminder alerts) in my iPhone calendar. It seems as though if an appointment reminder alert goes off when I'm asleep in the middle of the night, the reminder alert is actually preventing my iPhone alarm clock from going off the next morning.
After having missed a few morning appointments because of this, I noticted that upon unlocking my iPhone the next morning, the alarm would THEN go off, even if this was literally hours after it was supposed to ring.
Any ideas as to how to prevent this? Other than literally deleting every appointment out of my iPhone calendar going forward, can't seem to figure out how to prevent this from happening again. Thx in advance for any help.

=========================================================================Do we have to make any changes on other config files except the imta.cnf and mappings file for inbound and outbound..
    thanks for any help
    Edited by: prasad0_0 on Jul 8, 2008 4:58 AM

i have already setup the messaging server 6 months back.. followed the same procedure to route mails to a gateway..
made changes to the imta.cnf for outbound mail flow to the tcp_local and mappings file to accept inbound mail flow from the gateway. Its working perfectly on the older setup, but this now, have issues with new setup.
    here is the imta.cnf file..

  • Error Code 8450 when download app use paypal for unipay debit card in China

I tried both desktop or smartphone when i buy speed limit alarm for 0.75$, there is a valid preproved payment  at my paypal account, of course my us account deposite is 0 ,for  i use a debit card for payment.
i have learned that paypal said he will automatically exchange RMB to US$, so i think this does not a matter.
what is the truth i met? I am a computer engineer, in China, if I can't successful buy and download a rim app, I don't think most of others can do .
if rim can't move the barrier for his custom  in sales, how can rim get to live? must i hop betwen rim and paypal to settle this problem by myself?  caution this bug hurt your bussiness.
i'm a little sad that i can only search one related topic about the error code 8450, but that does no effect. and i tried find a help phone in china for support but faild.
RIM is downing? I don't hope so, I love my 8310 very much!

Do you have enough funds in your bank account?
otherwise iTunes sometimes black lists card if there are too many fradulent purchases
Reason why they might black list a card is possibly you call in for alot of fradulent purchases
One more reason can be because iTunes does actually limit the amount you can change payment methods
Call AppleCare Phone support and have your call directed to iTunes Store

  • CHARGED TIME AND MONEY FOR BEING MISINFORMED-COMPLAINT

Today I received my Verizon Wireless bill and I noticed that I was being charge overage for data usage of $45.00 (3 X $15.00 per 250mb over). Now I've been with Verizon for over 10yrs and always loved the service and plans that they've provided until recently.I switched to the lowest plan of $45 per line w/250mb of data due to my financial situation currently. I called and spoke to a rep to see about  the overage charges, but was told before I could be transferred to dept that handles that issue would need to setup arrangements to pay due amount. I let the rep know that I do have arrangements setup and should be noted. She quickly stated that my arrangements  was for last months bill and I would need to setup arrangements for the current. I gave her amount and date that I would be able to pay, which she informed me that the arrangements would not be able to guarantee a continuation of my service. I asked her why was I able to setup arrangement with the previous rep for a lesser amount plus more time and my service would continue as long as I kept my agreement, but she's not able to do the same. She sold cause my account would continue to be behind cause another payment would be coming due as I'm paying off the previous month. I asked to speak to retention dept, which I was told that she couldn't transfer me, but would get me a supervisor to see what they could do for me. I spoke to the supervisor, which I again was told the exact same thing as the previous rep had already discussed and felt like I wasn't getting anywhere now. I requested to speak to retention at this point and was transferred. The young man I spoke to stated off very pleasant and when I told him my situation, seemed like he was more then willing to help. I asked for to be able to pay an amount and gave a date again, which he stated that he couldn't meet the arrangements cause would put account too far past due and lines would be interrupted at point. I thanks him for the explanation and wanted to see about setting up better arrangements. I gave another amount which was shot down again. Then he offered to suspend my account until I could caught up the bill to help me out. Really???? I let him know that he needed to be more realistic and see how you really can live w/o a cell phone in this day and era. At this point, I felt like he wasn't giving me anything to work with and was only concerned about me paying the bill. I quickly let him know that although I do love Verizon service, they're not the cheapest out there and had several other options to choose from with other providers. After we both went back and forth trying to see how wore the bigger pants, we both came to a agreement to settle my bill within 2 payments broke up. Now I've been on the phone for about 45mins and still yet to even speak to someone about the original issue I was calling about. Finally, I was being transferred to CS dept. While holding, I was able to get into the Family Base setting and set limits on the 2 phone under me to block usage once 250mb limit was reached. I got a rep by the name of Christian and explained to him about the overage charges that I was charged on my bill and that I signed up for the Family Base feature to block overage usage, cause when I switched to this new plan I was told that I couldn't block limit on data for my plan cause was too low and would have to move up to a plane with lines at least 500mb. I told him that's the reason why I signed up for the Family Base cause it stated that would block data usage once limit reach and thought would do automatically since they bill me automatically when I go over. He said that is correct, that I'm not able to set a block on data overage under 500mb. I let him know that's not the cause and that I was able to setup usage block on phone online, but again I didn't know I had too or that I could, cause I was misinformed by the previous rep, just as he was misinforming me again and asked that I be credited $45.00 for being misinformed. He said that he would see what he could do and offered to take 25% off the overage changes. I said, no I believe that I need to be credited the full amount due to being misinformed by previous rep and now him. I explained to him that I believe this new planned was rolled out before they could make some adjustments to some of the features and that's why the limit wasn't available to be set at the time I switched my plan or on the Family Base feature until a later date. So Christian then said  that he could give a $20.00 credit to fees. Again, I explained to him that I shouldn't have to pay for being misinformed and requested to speak to a supervisor. He tried to tell me that a supervisor wouldn't be able to give me anymore credit and that would take a long time to speak to one. I still insisted on speaking to one. At this point, I've now been on the phone 1hr 30mins and was placed on hold. Christian came to the line a couple of times letting me know that he was still waiting on a supervisor, which I let him know that was fine. He then came back to the line and told me that he had reviewed the account w/supervisor and that they credited $20.00 and that was the best that could be done cause data was used. I asked him, if the supervisor was reviewing the account with him, why wasn't I able to speak to them as I requested? So, I'm placed on hold again and after about 10mins was finally placed on line with Kim ID#159079, so I explained my situation and feelings towards being misinformed and how I believe that I shouldn't have to be help accountable if I'm being misinformed by reps about features. From there she went right in and told me that the credit that I was giving was more than enough and that Christian went over what he was supposed to do already and that no other credit would be offered to my account. Now that I see that I've wasted my time, I asked for her ID and Christians ID info. She gave me her's, but decline to give me his and said that if I didn't get it at the time I was talking to him, that she wasn't authorized to give his cause was sensitive information...??? You're a supervisor and I know working in a call center myself, that's the reason why your given ID# so you don't to give out you true info. Needless to say I spent 1hr 51mins on the line for a $20.00 credit for being misinformed, which is less the amount I get paid on my real job. Very disappointing. Can someone please help better my situation and Verizon experience???

Simply because you disagree with the amount of credit they have given you does not mean that they will give you more, or that you deserve more. If going over your data allowance is that important to you, you should have kept better track of your usage. You can place a counter on your home screen which tells you how much you have used. It isn't up to the minute accurate, but you would certainly have been aware that you had used 4 times your monthly allowance.
Whether or not you were misinformed about usage limits being available, you used 4 times your monthly allowance. Take some responsibility, keep track of your usage. It is not hard to do.
Additionally, Verizon expects you to keep up to date on your bill. Yes, they will give you a break when you get an overage and request a payment schedule, but when you call the very next month in order to do the same they are going to be a bit more strict on their terms because they do not want this to become a pattern. If you would have taken a fraction of that overage, you could have stepped up to the next level of service and been able to cover all of your usage. This is what Verizon expects of you if you have an overage. You should reevaluate your usage habits and change your allowance OR rein in your usage to meet your current allowance. If you fail to rein in your usage to meet your current allowance, I would not expect Verizon to be as lenient with payments for a what appears to be a chronic overage patttern when simply increasing your allowance would have lowered your bill in the first place.

  • Using Back button issue for radio button

    Dear All,
My initial screen has 2 radio buttons, on selecting will take to a selection screen with few fields, i have enabled the back button using MODULE user_command AT EXIT-COMMAND.
when i select a Radio Button 1 which takes to the Selection Screen 1, if the user clicks back button it works fine, even thou we got a mandatory field, it goes back,
however when i click Radio Button 2 it still takes me to Selection Screen 1, its the same vice versa.
Is there anyway i can change the screen based on radio button entry

    Hi Krishan,
You can call your desire selection screen based on the button click.
if you are working on report program (SE38), then say you have two radio button p1 and p2 and also you have created two selection screen block B1 and B2 and each block has some selection screen elements i.e fields.
Now if you want that after radio button click b1, you want the only selection screen block B1 and while clicking radio button b2 click ,you want only selection screen block B2.
Two acheive this in report programming, use the event AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
so a demo code for the same,
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK a WITH FRAME TITLE text-049.
    PARAMETERS: p_header RADIOBUTTON GROUP asim USER-COMMAND s DEFAULT 'X',
                                p_item RADIOBUTTON GROUP asim.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK lim.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK b1 WITH FRAME TITLE text-051.
    PARAMETERS : p_vbeln TYPE vbak-vbeln MODIF ID sc1,
                  p_audat TYPE vbak-audat MODIF ID sc1.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK b1.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK b2 WITH FRAME TITLE text-050.
    PARAMETERS : p_vbeln1 TYPE vbap-vbeln MODIF ID sc2,
                                 p_posnr TYPE vbap-posnr MODIF ID sc2.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK b2.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
       IF p_header EQ 'X'.
         LOOP AT SCREEN.
           IF screen-group1 = 'SC1'.
             screen-active = '1'.
           ELSEIF screen-group1 = 'SC2'.
             screen-active = '0'.
           ENDIF.
           MODIFY SCREEN.
         ENDLOOP.
       ELSEIF p_item EQ 'X'.
         LOOP AT SCREEN.
           IF screen-group1 = 'SC2'.
             screen-active = '1'.
           ELSEIF screen-group1 = 'SC1'.
             screen-active = '0'.
           ENDIF.
           MODIFY SCREEN.
         ENDLOOP.
       ENDIF.
If you are working with Module POOL, then code in the PAI of the screen, and call your respective screen while respective button click.
    code:
    MODULE user_command_900 INPUT.
         IF p1 EQ 'X'.
              CALL SCREEN 9001.
         ELSEIF p2 EQ 'X'.
              CALL SCREEN 9002.
         ENDIF.
NOTE: your screen 9001 have some screen input fields and 9002 have some screen input fields.
    Thanks & Regards
    Syed

  • Incorrect Sender value when 'mail' attribute is multivalued

    hi,
i've just upgraded Sun messaging server 2005Q4 from IMS 5.2 and noted some behavioural difference in the reverse_url operations.
I've noted that reverse_url operations on the 'mail' attribute for ims5.2 seems to ignore subsequent values of this attribute if it's multivalued.
Sun Messaging 2005Q4, however, seems to have taken into account the multiple values of the 'mail' attribute.
This is resulting the mail's "From:" field to be using the subsequent values.
    Setup
Account: mailtes1 (with multivalued 'mail' attribute)
    mail: [email protected]
[email protected] (Not a configured mail domain handled by Sun messaging. Used by other applications)
mailhost: mailsit.portnet.com.sg (for Sun messaging 2005q4)
    pnsasit1app1.portnet.com (for ims52)
test mails are sent to the same accounts.

    Questions:
    1) How do i retain the functionality of using 1st value of the mail attribute as the address to be used?
I need the address reversing to retain '@portnet.com.sg' value.
    2) I've not encountered the same problem when using ims52.
Is there a functional diffences here?

    Hi Shane,
    Thank you for the reply.
We tried adding a mailequivalentaddress attribute, eg [email protected] but the From field still have the value from the mail attribute, eg [email protected]. Do we still need to configure anything to make this to work?
Besides we tried another option by doing the following:
    a. Changing the following lines in options.dat file:
    REVERSE_URL=ldap:///$V?mail?sub?$Q
    to
    REVERSE_URL=ldap:///$V$N?sub?$R
    b. We ensure that '@portnet.com.sg' is the 1st value
    c. adding a 'noreverse' keyword for the 'ims-ms' channel
And it works without the need for the mailequivalentaddress, is this a proper implementation?
any implications with putting 'noreverse' for ims-ms channel?
We're now considering changing of primary address attribute used.
Need your advise on the following:
    1) Please advise how go about configuring another attribute to store the primary address.
    2) Can we use mailAlternateAddress as the new primary address attribute?
If a totally new attribute is needed, please advise on the requirements for the creation of this attribute to be usable by Sun Messaging 2005Q4.
This change was mentioned in the administration guide.
Chapter 9 The Direct LDAP Algorithm and Implementation
    Seeding the Reversal Cache
Next the primary address and any aliases attached to the user entry are considered. This information is used to seed the address reversal cache. It plays no part in the current address translation process. First, the primary address, personal name, recipient limit, recipient cutoff, and source block limit attributes are considered. The primary address is normally stored in the mail attribute; another attribute can be specified by setting the LDAP_PRIMARY_ADDRESS MTA option appropriately. (The primary address reverses to itself, of course.) There is no default attribute for any of the other attributes. If you want to use them, you must specify them with the LDAP_PERSONAL_NAME, (see Vacation Autoreply Attributes) LDAP_RECIPIENTLIMIT, LDAP_RECIPIENTCUTOFF, (see Limiting Message Recipients) and LDAP_SOURCEBLOCKLIMIT (see Specifying Absolute Message Size Limits) MTA options. The corresponding domain-level recipient limit, recipient cutoff, and source block limit attributes are also considered at this point. User-level settings completely override any domain-level setting.
Next, any secondary addresses are considered and a cache entry is made for each one. There are two sorts of secondary addresses: Those that undergo address reversal and those that do not. Both must be considered in order to properly seed the address reversal cache because of the need to check for message capture requests in all cases.
Secondary addresses that undergo reversal are normally stored in the mailAlternateAddress attribute. Another attribute can be specified by setting the LDAP_ALIAS_ADDRESSES MTA option. Secondary addresses that do not undergo reversal are normally stored in the mailEquivalentAddress attribute. Another attribute can be specified with the LDAP_EQUIVALENCE_ADDRESSES MTA option.

  • Query related to write() and setsockopt()

    Hi ,
This query is based on Solaris10. I will just brief out the issue and also the information which I am seeking. Here I am creating a TCP socket, and then increasing the socket buffer by using setsockopt(). Here is the call "setsockopt(fd, SOL_SOCKET, SO_SNDBUF,&txBufSize, sizeof(txBufSize))" . Here txbufsize is nothing but an integer that has a value equal to 65536.
Here I am writing some data by using the write system call like "write(fd, (char*) pData, (int) length));" Here The logic is to write to the socket fd, by using the above write () the pData of length 204 bytes continously for 40 times in a second. That means in a second maximum possibility of writing to the socket buffer is 204*40 ie. 8160 bytes.
The issue is after writing 8 to 9 times, that is after a successful write of around 1836 bytes of data (9 times * with 204 bytes each), write is failing with an error number "EWOULDBLOCK". The man page is giving an information that error code indicating that there is no free room available in the socket transmit buffer. But as I said earlier the buffer which I send so far is only 1836 bytes, also the socket buffer which I have allocated by using 'setsockopt' is 65536 which is much higher value.
Here what I am looking for is two things.
    1. Does anybody has any insight why this write() is failing with EWOULDBLOCK, the same code was working fine in Solaris 8 as well as in 9. The same code is recently ported to Solaris10. This behaviour is observed only in Solaris10.
    2. Is there any way I can debug how much buffer is already written or how much buffer is still free to use for writing, before I initiate a write(). It would be really great if anyone can point out a debugging tool or is there any way I can instrument the code with proper logs to print out the buffer each time before the write() call.
    Thanks,
    Sree

Actually, there was a typo in the bigAdmin article. The tunable parameter in question is actually called
    tcp_fusion_rcv_unread_min
and is set in /etc/system as follows:
    set ip:tcp_fusion_rcv_unread_min=0
    The parameter description is:
This is the minimum amount of outstanding writes allowed on a synchronous streams-enabled receiving endpoint before the sender gets flow-controlled. Setting this value to 0 means that the data block limit is equivalent to the byte count limit, which essentially disables the check. Flow control for TCP fusion in synchronous stream mode is achieved by checking the size of receive buffer and the number of data blocks, both set to different limits. This is different that regular stream flow control. The need for this limit is to ensure that the sending and receiving processes are both getting the resources they need to process the data and that neither is starving the other.
