NCS Prime 1.3 Controller Audit Status Mismatch

When performing an audit from NCS Prime 1.3 on our 5508 controllers (500 lic)  we are getting mismatch messages from many of our 3602i AP's that say the following...
(Type)Configuration Name     Audit Status              Attribute           Prime Infrastructure Value     Controller Value
(AP APname, Interface) 802.11a/n     Mismatch     Spectrum Intelligence      true                                       false
These AP's are not configured as Spectrum Intelligence on the controllers, rather as local. It seems that NCS believes that they are supposed to be SI. We have refreshed the config from controller many times but this does not change.
The 5508's run v.7.2.111.3
Is there a change I can make on NCS or otherwise to make this mismatch go away? Is this a bug? It is not causing any problems (that we can see) but as most would rather not have these mismatches.
Much Thanks!

Well when you do an audit, you specify what templates you want to audit the WLC's against. So take a look at when you perform an audit as to what tempted you have chosen. This could of been an old template and needs to be removed.

  • WLC Audit Status Mismatch

    Hi,
We have two WLC 01 and 02, the WLC01 its the primary and all of AP has WLC01 as primary and WLC02 as secondary.
We've had network issues that have caused WLC01 to lose connectivity (temporarily) - this caused WLC02 to take the Active role, but some users are left without service (others are not affected).
We had to reboot WLC02 to force WLC01 to return to the Active role so all the users recover the service.
The only unusual sign we've noticed is a "Mismatch" Audit Status that shows up in the Configure -> Controllers window in the WCS.
    What could be missing?

I have the WLC02 configuration (show run-config) and I can see that not all interfaces are configured, i mean configuration is missing on WLC02.
***But these interfaces appear reviewing the configuration of the WLC02 through the WCS (Configre->Controllers->WLC02->System->Interfaces)
If I run the refresh will fix the problem?

  • Unable to Push the Config Frm NCS prime to CIsco WIreless Lan Controller

    Hi Guys,
We have an issue with NCS prime, in our Network.
We run NCS prime 1.3  and Around 10 Wireless Lan Controllers (5508 & 4404) Models.
We are trying to Push a ACL Config Template from NCS to Wireless lan Controllers.
This ACL is already created before  in WLCs, now we created the templates in  NCS with few rules added and planning to push Configs from NCS template.
We are receiving errors SNMP operation to device failed. I am pretty sure it is not an SNMP  issue.
Any inputs on this is much appreciated

    Hi Scott.
    I
I tried deleting the ACL from Controller totally and tried pushing it. it was  not working neither
Raised a case with Cisco. They asked for few trace logs from NCS , told will check and get back to me.
IS there any more inputs, you can provide, which i can try to test it?
    Regards
    Safwan

  • NCS Prime 1.4 does not display previous AP WLAN-VLAN mappings

    Hi,
Just wondering if others have experienced this issue. I upgrade our Prime NCS from 1.3 to 1.4 last night. Upgrade appeared successful but today when looking through the web interface for testing I noticed that the  'Access Point Details' (Configure > Access Points > Access point details" no longer displays the flex connect vlan mappings which previously were shown in 1.3.
When clicking on the WLAN-VLAN Mappings tab nothing appears there too? I tried to apply the wireless configuration template again but received an error.
Has anyone had this issue? On the WLC, these configurations are still intact with the correct vlan-mappings so it only appears to be NCS that is having the issues.
Only thing I can see from the release notes regarding NCS 1.4 Flexconnect VLAN mappings is CSCug17718. But this caveat is under the resolved section.
    Cheers,
    Wil

    Cheers thanks for the reply.
I figured out what the problem was. Appears that Audit status has mismatches but once another audit is done it appears to display vlan mappings with at the access point detail page.
Now... to figure out how to perfect bulk audits..
    Anyways thanks for your advice.

  • NCS Prime 2.1 Percentage of Licenses used on WLC2504

Is there an exportable report that can be run on NCS Prime Infra 2.1 that will provide an AP count percentage of licenses used for each controller?
Attached is a screen shot of a visual of what I want in an exportable excel file for WLCs.

Thank you, however, I need to export information that will tell me the percentage of licenses used of the total by each WLC.
I have many hundreds of WLCs and need a spreadsheet that will tell me how many licenses each individual WLC has and what percentage each WLC is using of their total.

    regards,
AnwarA non authorative 'guess' is that the controller is attempting to learn the rate of discharge of the battery. It needs a little time (maybe quite a few hours, even a day) to do this.
Batteries are a weak spot of things.
Get prepared to replace the battery .... otherwise I suspect (and I know not the 6180 specifically and I am not bothered to look it up, you can as well as I), the appliance may degrade and run a little slower.

  • Recomended report to identify inactive Netuser accounts on NCS prime 1.3

    hi
i have two 5508 running 7.4 being monitored by  NCS prime 1.3
Using local net users created origionally on the wlc but now from prime.
we are looking for a report that will show inactive users to assist with housekeeping.

    Hi,
You can get the pur grp description by the table T024.
In SAP the release will be effected by relese code, which will not be assigned to the user. But however you can find who released from the table CDHDR by providing the transaction code in the field ME52N.

  • 3750 Integrated WirelessLAN Controller: Operational Status:resetting

    Hi there!
A customer has a WS-C3750G-24WS-S50 WLC-Controller with exactly 50 APs. But those 50 Accesspoints are never completely registered to the WLC. Mostly there are 48-49 accesspoints registered but never 50.
The WLC is losing them randomly. It is never losing the same Ap. When looking via GUI it says "All APs 50" , "Total 49".
First of all I thought that I have the following problem:
The 4402-50 controller supports a maximum of 50 access points and has two ports. To support the maximum number of access points, you would need to create two AP-manager interfaces (see Figure 3-15) because a 4400 series controller can support only 48 access points on one port.
But this is not for the 3750  Integrated WirelessLAN Controller, because you have LAG enabled by default and you cannot change this. Therfore you are not able to create a second AP-Manager interface.
    So let´s forget about this.
Then I tried some things on CLI an I noticed the following:
    sw-mr-01-01#sh platform wireless-controller 6
    Wireless Controller in Switch 6
Operational Status of the Controller : resetting
    Service VLAN                         : 4095
Service Port Mac Address             : 0025.8420.8e8f
    Service IP Address                   : 127.0.1.6
    Management IP Address                : 192.168.150.220
    Management VLAN                      : 0
    Software Version                     : 5.2.193.0
    Keepalive Version(controller/switch) : 1/1
    Keepalives Missed                    : 16
    Controller accepts http/https        : 0/1
    Controller's Status Line             : up
Watchdog resets of Controller        : 1
    Controller resets total              : 0
    Unacknowledged control messages      : 27
I guess it is not normal that the status is "resetting" although the WLC is running. I can work on GUI and CLI, so it is not really "resetting"
According to the Config Guide status should be "operational".
Is this maybe my problem? The customer is not able to do a good WIPT because the WLC is maybe resetting somehow internaly or something like this.
In traps I got every minute "Lost heartbeat with supervisor" which normaly should be solved in earlier releases. I have 6.0.199.4
    HELP!!!
    Thanks in advance.

    Ok.
    1) Assing an IP address for a subnet you are sure you don´t use. for example 192.168.200.5 /24; GW 192.168.200.1 (via WLC GUI).
    2) I suppose (because I have not configured any 3750 WLC) that the service port uses the vlan ID 4095 (This is I saw in any capture). then you have to create a int vlan 4095 in the Switch and assing the GW ip address of your WLC service-port.
    3) Ping to verify conectivity between devices.
I´m suppose you have the service port via DHCP (it could be the reason you have an IP 0.0.0.0), this is not a best practice; Cisco recommends that assing an IP to this interface and never let to DHCP, specially if you don´t have any dhcp server in this VLAN.
Good Luck and sorry for my english.
    Best Regards.

  • Cisco NCS Prime - Possible Database Issue?!

    Hello;
I appear to have problems with our NCS Prime database, I am running NCS in HA environment and over the last few months been running on the secondary server and collecting reports fine.
After failing back I have noticed that no data appears when I run reports on have a "flat-line" on all reports which gather data such as Client Traffic, once I failed back again to run on the secondary server in an attempt to gather some data the same problem occurs. I do however seem to have a small peak in data last night for 4 hours but this then dropped off.
Is there any way to see if I have lost the historical data?
    Thanks
    John

Issues I have seen is from upgrading. Have you upgraded to PI 1.3 or was PI 1.3 a greasy install? Also they might have some commands that they will have you issue or they will issue, but it's better for them to give you those than telling you what to issue because you don't want to loose everything.

  • How to Re-Install Cisco NCS Prime in vmware appliance?

I'm attempting to do an Eval on NCS to see if it's worth pursuing this year or wait until next budget year and I'm having quite a bit of trouble, which is pushing me towards the "this sucks" category.   My initial setup of NCS Prime went by with out a hitch until the NCS service tried to start and threw what looked like and Oracle DB error.  Not being able to figure out how to re-install from the vmware appliance it's self, I had to kill the appliance and redo.  This time, after asking me the typical and simple question of ip address and etc, it hung on trying to complete the setup of the app and ate up 16gig on my vmware box.  Now, I realize that there is a maintenance release available as of last Friday, but my question is, instead of having to redo the enter appliance, how can I force the appliance to attempt a re-installation of NCS so that hopefully I can get to the point where I just do the maintenance upgrade?  I would figure there would have be some way to re-install NCS in the vmware appliance with out re-installing the entire appliance in a support scenerio correct?
    -Raun

If you mount the DVD image for the Vmware appliance so that it boots "on the dvd", you would have the option to reimage. No need to "recreate" the whole setup then.
Normally once it's installed, the upgrades don't require to re-image but you seem to be having troubles. The problem with Vmware installation is that it's hard to evaluate if the problem comes from the NCS or from the vm setup itself.

  • NCS Prime prompting for login and password after re-imaging from dvd

    Dear All,
I did a re-imaging on NCS prime after which I'm getting the below error
Please help me as to what could be the reason for this error...
Please type 'setup' to configure the appliance
    localhost.localdomain login: Setup

Re-imaging was not successful try this process:
    Restoring the NCS Database
If you are restoring the NCS database in a high availability environment, see the "Restoring the NCS Database in a High Availability Environment" section. To restore the NCS database from a backup file. follow these steps:
Step 1 To view all local repository backups, use the below command:
    show repository backup_repo
Note If possible, stop all NCS user interfaces to stabilize the database.
Step 2 Manually shutdown the platform as root.
Step 3 Using the CLI, perform one of the following:
•Restore the appliance and application backup by entering the following command:
    restore testbackup-yymmdd-xxxx.tar.gpg repository backup_repo
•Restore only the application backup by entering the following command:
restore testbackup-yymmdd-xxxx.tar.gpg repository backup_repo application NCS
Step 4 Click Yes if a message appears indicating that NCS is running and needs to be shut down.
Note If the restore process shuts down NCS, a restart is attempted after a successful restore. The appliance will then restart and you will have to again login and restart the dbserver, and the platform manually as root (make sure you do not start with dbclean, else you will loose your recently restored data).
The CLI displays messages indicating that the NCS database is being restored.

  • NCS Prime Wireless Management

    Hello,
We have recently purchased Cisco NCS Prime for our Cisco Wireless project. Before installation we need to confirm that NCS
prime will be compatible with ESXi v5.0, as the release notes refer to
    ESXi v4.0 and v4.1 only.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/wireless/ncs/1.0/release/notes/
    NCS_RN1.0.1.html
    Many thanks
    Jonathan.

    Hi Chris,
    1. No.
    2. There is a symptom of the following bug:
CSCtw52442  NCS: Lobby Ambassador user can access the home page.
Installing Chrome frame plugin for IE browser in NCS is a requirement as documented in the release notes. This caveat is to address the issue where lobby ambassador users are getting access to the NCS home page to which they have no privileges for. For your IE users, install chrome frame plugin which should take care of it.
    Ram.

  • NCS Prime 1.0 Eval License

I'm trying to get/install the 10 device eval license on a new NCS Prime 1.0 virtual appliance. I downloaded what I thought was the the right eval license but get this error when installing.
udi of file does not match the system
All I can find in the licensing guide is is this:
    Cisco Prime NCS Evaluation Licenses
Cisco Prime NCS can be used in a lab or in an  evaluation setting with the following license: NCS-10-DEMO. This provides an  evaluation license for 10 devices, for a duration of 30 days. If you need a  custom device count or duration, please contact your Cisco representative.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
    --Patrick

I got it up and running this way :
    1. Downloaded the NCS-VA-1.0.1.4-small.ova from cisco.com
    2. Got it up and running on VmWare, run the guided setup..
    3. Logged into the Gui
    4. In the "License Center" you can see "product id" and "serial number" of the virtual appliance.
    5. Used the "product id" and "serial number" to request a demo license on : cisco.com/go/license -  "Demo and Evaluation Licenses" - NCS Demo 1.0 -
    6. Download it and add it in license center
Now you have a 100 device license for 30 days
