NCS VM Minimum Server Requirements

Cisco's NCS Small Virtual Appliance Requirements as per below allow monitoring of up to 3000 access-points. We only need to monitor <400 Access-Points, 4 x WLC's and <25 autonomous access-points and I am wondering is anyone has deployed NCS on VM with less than the small virtual appliance requirements to monitor only a small number of AP's and WLCs?
Minimum server requirements for deploying NCS Virtual Appliances
Cisco Prime NCS Large Virtual Appliance:
• Up to 15,000 lightweight access points, 5000 autonomous access points, 1200 wireless LAN controllers, and 5000 switches or up to 5000 routers
• Minimum RAM: 16 GB
• Minimum hard disk space allocation: 400 GB
• Processors: 8 cores, at 2.93 GHz or better
Cisco Prime NCS Medium Virtual Appliance:
• Up to 7500 lightweight access points, 2500 autonomous access points, 600 wireless LAN controllers, and 2500 switches or up to 2500 routers
• Minimum RAM: 12 GB
• Minimum hard disk space allocation: 300 GB
• Processors: 4 cores, at 2.93 GHz or better
Cisco Prime NCS Small Virtual Appliance:
• Up to 3000 lightweight access points, 1000 autonomous access points, 240 wireless LAN controllers and switches or up to 1000 routers
• Minimum RAM: 8 GB
• Minimum hard disk space allocation: 200 GB
• Processors: 2 cores, at 2.93 GHz or better

Hello,
I am not sure about NCS but I have tried another Cisco product that can be purchased as an applicance or installed virtually. It had minimum requrements of RAM and desk space.
When I treid to install it on a virtual machine it complained about desk space. it could not be installed until I - virtually - assigned the needed minimum desk space to the virtual machine.
For the RAM however it did not complain although it was less than 1/4 of the minimum requirement listed in the document.

  • (Deployment) Minimum Software required for BUILD server and IIS WebServer

We have a simple .Net SDK application written using VB-2005 and the Crystal Reports XI (R2) DEVELOPER package.
The RPT files are posted on our BOE-XI (R2) server, and are called using the View-On-Demand method from the Page Server (similar to the SDK sample application). At some point in the future, our .Net applications may invoke some of the other SDK content types.
In our environment, the .NET web-applications are checked-in to Clear Case, and then sent to a stand-alone BUILD server to be compiled. The compiled .NET web-applications are then posted to a stand-alone IIS WebServer (not the IIS server that hosts BOE InfoView/CMC).
The BUILD server and IIS WebServer have to be as "stripped-down" as possible in order to go through our QAT and Impact Analysis process.
So far we have had success if we deploy the SDK-only install from the Crystal Reports XI (R2) DEVELOPER package, and the service packs, but it doesn't include all the SDK components for other BOE content types.
If we deploy the Client-only install from the BOE-XI (R2) package, and the service packs - it doesn't seem to include the CR-Viewer which we need. But it does includes a bunch of extra software (eg. UNIVERSE DESIGNER) on the desktop of the BUILD server and IIS WebServer that our QA guys don't like.
What are the Minimum Software required for BUILD server and IIS WebServer to support CR and BOE SDKs...?
Are there any install packages that contain JUST those components, and not all the extra software that is not needed to Build/Deploy in .NET...?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Due to the CrystalDecisions.web.dll for the 2.0 framework being left off the BOE CD you will need to install the Crystal XI R2 runtimes as well as the BOE SDK.
To get the BOE SDK launch the Enterprise XI R2 installer and choose Server Install - not Client Install.  Choose a Custom install.  You'll be presented with a drop down list for the Enterprise components.  Deselect everything and then look for the Developer Components option.  You may have to drill down into one of the levels to find it.  Under Developer Components you'll see the BusinessObjects Enterprise .NET SDK.  Select it to install it.

Access to SharePoint doesn't necessarily give access to the SharePoint databases.  See Add-SPShellAdmin description.
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607596.aspx
Permissions on the databases themselves is often required when accessing SharePoint information programmatically.

  • Minimum hardware requirement for Report server with 4 engines ??

    Hello all ,
Can someone please tell what is the minimun Hardware requirement to be able to run a Oracle 91 AS with report server having 4 engines ??
and where I can find this kind of documentation.
We have a Oracle9iAS Containers for J2EE running on a machine with under 1 ghz power and around 300 mb RAM
, but the report server seems to keep crashing ..
    Can anyone pls advice
    Thanks

    Hi,
For calculating the minimum hardware requirements, you may need to look at various factors:
    1. No of reports requests that need to be processed per second
    2. Whether all these requests are synchronous or asynchronous
    3. Response time required
    4. Type of reports - large amounts of data, large no of images, etc
    5. How much caching you are using
    6. No of queries in your report
    7. Simple / complex layout of the report
    and so on.
So just the information of 4 engines may not be sufficient for trying to calculate the hardware requirements. One useful reference point for you may be the Oracle9i Reports Scalability whitepaper:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/index.html
It lists the number of users supported on some pre-defined hardware configurations, and the average response time for the reports server.
You might also want to take a look at the paper on "Tuning Oracle Reports":
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/search.html?cat=SAP&col=ALC&submit=Search
However, it is also possible that your Reports Server is crashing due to some other problem (not the hardware configuration).
By the way, your RAM seems to be too low for Oracle9iAS installation. See the installation guide for minimum hardware requirements.
    Navneet.

  • Server Requirements for Launching J2EE Application on web

    Hi,
I am new to web technologies, I apologize if I am asking a very basic question. I have a developed a J2EE Web Application for Online Assessment. I use Tomcat as server and MySQL database. I am expecting around 1000 users to simultaneously undergo our assessment. The assessment is a computerized adaptive assessment. For running the statistical calculation, I am keeping some information in the User Session, which will be around 10 Kilobytes per user.
I was trying to understand what would be the minimum system requirements (on processing speed and ram) for supporting this application.
Is storing more information of Session could be a bottle neck for me in supporting maximum concurrent users?
    Anticipating your help.
    Thanks
    De Paul

You should just be able to put the SWF and wrapper HTML file
on the server, and it just "serves" the swf and wrapper file. I
don't think there is anything else you need, unless you are using
    LifeCycle DS.

  • AD CS Web Enrollment Error - "public key does not meet the minimum size required"

I've installed a standalone root CA and a enterprise subordinate CA in our environment - both are Windows 2008 R2. Everything is working except for Web Enrollment using a custom User template. I duplicated the default User template and choose
2003 Compatible for the new one. I changed the minimum key length to 2048 and set the validity period to 2 years.
We'd like to avoid using the Advanced Certificate Request page, so I modified certrqtp.inc to point to the new template:
    Else
    ' Request types for enterprise
    rgAvailReqTypes(0,FIELD_TEMPLATE)="User-custom"
    rgAvailReqTypes(0,FIELD_FRIENDLYNAME)=L_UserTemplateCert_Text
rgAvailReqTypes(0,FIELD_CSPLIST)="Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0?Microsoft Base Cryptographic Provider v1.0"
rgAvailReqTypes(0,FIELD_CSPLIST2)="Microsoft Base Cryptographic Provider v1.0?Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0"
    rgAvailReqTypes(0,FIELD_EXPORTABLE)="True"
    nAvailReqTypes=1
    End If
I also ran into this issue where Web Enrollment jumps straight to the Advanced page if the original User template isn't present on the CA:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserversecurity/thread/9ab514bc-1f9f-424e-b70d-705874d9c623
So I have both User templates loaded on the CA, and I get this error back when attempting a certificate request using IE 8 or 9:
    Your certificate request was denied.
Your Request Id is 25. The disposition message is "Denied by Policy Module".
Contact your administrator for further information.
Looking at the CA's Failed Requests section, I see this error:
The public key does not meet the minimum size required by the specified certificate template. 0x80094811 (-2146875375)
I double-checked our custom template and it does specify 2048 as the minimum key size.
Also, when trying with Chrome 11.0, I get an extra option during enrollment asking for a key size (1024 or 2048). When I choose 2048, the certificate request succeeds. I don't get the key size option when using IE, though.
We'd like to get this working with IE if possible. Any ideas?

We had the same error message. The problem turned out to be on the requesting computer, not the server. When we went to renew a cert in IIS on a server it was generating a 1028-bit key request. Since the minimum on the server was set to 2048-bit
the request failed. So, there's two ways to handle this. You can change the certificate template on the server to have a minimum set to 1024-bit or you can have IIS submit a new request for a certificate and choose 2048-bit as the size of the key during the
wizard. We opted to have IIS request a 2048-bit key. The same would apply for whatever computer, device, or software you are using to form the certificate request.
Your message is pretty old, but I am running on the same problem right now. I've added a custom template to select (with 2048) minimum length, but the webpage from the IIS by default provides just 1024-bit. Where can i optimize the IIS to use a 2048-bit
    key when requesting the certificate?
When I open the same site with Firefox for example, i got a listed option (Medium / High Strength) to choose for the encryption. It seems that the high strength is >= 2048-bit.

  • Minimum system requirements for installing Oracle Application Testing Suite

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me what are the minimum system requirements for intalling Oracle Application Testing Suite?
    Thanks in Advance

    From the release notes (12.1.0.2).
    System Requirements
Oracle Application Testing Suite has the following system requirements:
    4
    3.1 Oracle Functional Testing/OpenScript
Oracle Functional Testing’s OpenScript scripting platform has the following system
    requirements:
    ■ Operating System (32-bit and 64-bit versions): Windows XP, Windows Vista,
    Windows 2003, Windows 7, Windows 2008
    ■ Memory: Minimum 1 GB
    ■ System: x86, 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2.6 GHz or faster
    ■ Disk Space: 4 GB minimum
    ■ Browser: Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x., 9.x and Firefox 3.5/3.6, 6.x
    3.2 Oracle Load Testing
Oracle Load Testing has the following system requirements:
    ■ Operating System (32-bit and 64-bit versions): Windows XP, Windows Vista,
    Windows 2003, Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2. Oracle Enterprise
    Linux 5.1, 5.2 64, 4u8.
    ■ Memory: Minimum 2 GB.
    ■ System: x86, 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2.6 GHz or faster
    ■ Disk Space: 10 GB minimum free (at least 3 GB free on the system drive)
    ■ Browser: Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x, 9.x, Firefox 3.5/3.6, 6.x
    ■ Database: Oracle EE 10g or 11g, XE 10g
    ■ Application Server: Oracle WebLogic 11g (10.3.5.0). Oracle Application Testing
Suite requires the standard WebLogic Server installation (which includes jrocket
jdk.). It does not support generic versions of WebLogic Server installation (such as
    those that use wls1035_generic.jar).
    ■ Oracle Load Testing Agent also supported on Linux 32-bit & 64-bit, in addition to
Windows 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems listed above
Note: These are minimum requirements only and actual
requirements for the Oracle Load Testing Server will vary depending
on the size and configuration of your load test. If you are running
larger load tests, of greater than 1000 Virtual Users, you should
consider deploying Oracle Load Testing on a faster server class
    machine with additional RAM recommended.
Note: Oracle recommends running the Oracle Load Testing Server
and Agents on separate systems for production load testing. The
amount of memory required on the Oracle Load Testing Agent
systems may increase based on the number of Virtual Users that will
be assigned to run on each Agent. For more information, visit the
QA/Testing Technology Center on Oracle Technology Network or
    contact your Oracle representative.
    5
    3.3 Oracle Test Manager
Oracle Test Manager has the following system requirements:
    ■ Operating System (32-bit and 64-bit versions): Windows XP, Windows Vista,
    Windows 2003, Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2. Oracle Enterprise
    Linux 5.1, 5.2, 4u8.
    ■ Memory: Minimum 2 GB.
    ■ System: x86, 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2.6 GHz or faster
    ■ Disk Space: 10 GB minimum free (at least 3 GB free on the system drive)
    ■ Browser: Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x, 9.x, Firefox 3.5/3.6, 6.x
    ■ Database: Oracle EE 10g or 11g, XE 10g
    ■ Application Server: Oracle WebLogic 11g (10.3.5.0). Oracle Application Testing
Suite requires the standard WebLogic Server installation (which includes jrocket
jdk.). It does not support generic versions of WebLogic Server installation (such as
    those that use wls1035_generic.jar).
    3.4 Additional Notes
The following are additional notes about system requirements:
    ■ The ATS installer can automatically install and configure an Oracle 10g Express
Edition (XE) database for use with Oracle Load Testing and Oracle Test Manager.
Although this is useful for demos, for production usage switching to Oracle's 11g
Enterprise Edition database is highly recommended. Oracle 11g Standard Edition
and Oracle 10g EE or SE are also supported.
    ■ System memory requirements do not take into account other processes that may
be running and using memory on your system, reducing free uncommitted
    memory available.
    ■ When installed on the same machine, Oracle Load Testing and Oracle Test
Manager will run on the same server and use shared system resources. Oracle
Functional Test/OpenScript is a separate application that have its own memory
    and CPU requirements.
    ■ The ATS products will run in 32-bit compatibility mode when installed on 64-bit
operating systems. It is possible for Oracle Application Testing Suite to be installed
on an existing WebLogic server. However, if the pre-installed WebLogic server is
JRockit plus WebLogic (64-bit) environment, some functions in Oracle Application
Testing Suite will not work properly. Oracle Application Testing Suite can be
    installed on a 32-bit WebLogic, but not a 64-bit.
    ■ The legacy Oracle Functional Testing, VB-based scripting platform and associated
components (such as Job Scheduler) are no longer included with the ATS installer
Note: These are minimum requirements only and actual
requirements for Oracle Test Manager will vary depending on the
quantity of test assets stored and number of concurrent users
accessing the application. If you have a large quantity of test cases,
requirements or issues stored and/or are deploying Oracle Test
Manager for a team greater than 10 users, you should consider
deploying Oracle Test Manager on a faster server class machine with
    additional RAM recommended.

  • HSQLDB Minimum System requirements

Hy guys, any one know whats the minimum system requirements for HSQLDB ?
    Please especifies hardware settings !
    Thank you.

That's probably a difficult question to answer with any accuracy.
What are the minimum requirements for running a "Hello World" program?
If you run the database server in embedded mode it'll take some tens or a few hundred kB of memory. The data structures your JVM uses for optimizing Java code are likely to dominate. And those are kind of hard to predict...
Then it takes memory for the data itself.
Try it. Write a program that creates a few tables and loads or randomly generates various amounts of data into them. Perform operations you think will be typical in your application. Observe memory use and whatever other parameters you are interested in.
