NCS - Wired clients not showing ip address

I have Cisco switches reporting to NCS, I see mac addresses but no ip addresses.  I do not see any where to add a core router or arp table polling.  Has anybody got ip addresses to report on the wired side?

NCS' management of wired infrastructure is very limited. The best wired management option is still LMS.
You can upgrade your NCS to Prime Infrastructure 1.2 and get some additional wired management functionality (including the ability to manage your routers and thus, I believe, get the IP address correlation with the MAC addresses) but it still lags LMS's capabilities bit.

  • Express does not show IP address of wireless camera

I have a functioning Axis M1011 wireless camera, with a live stream into Safari on my local iMac.  All is well.
My brand new Airport Express is definitely providing the wireless camera feed, as my internal airport card on my iMac is OFF.
What is odd is that Express does not show IP address of the wireless camera when you click on it in Airport Utility.
The iMac is static at 10.0.1.2.  Express LAN IP is static at 10.0.1.1.   The camera's wireless IP is static at 10.0.1.3.
I have a working, hidden network created by express.
I am baffled why express does not "report" the IP address of the camera that it definitely sees.
It does not report any wireless clients at all.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

So your ASA should have a route on the inside interface to internal networks. The address of that next hop in the routing table is the one you should have in your arp table allowing you to reach non-directly-connected (subnet-wise) hosts within the scope of that route statement.
Think through the logic - ASA pings a host. It needs to determine proper egress interface. It checks and asks "Is it reachable via a directly connected interface (most preferred route)?" Answer no. "Do I have a route statement telling me how to get to it?" Answer yes (otherwise use default). OK - so ASA sends packet out egress interface defined in that route statement to the next hop as defined in route statement and waits for reply.

How do I send an email with a group address and not show the addresses/names of the recipients?

Use BCC.   That's blind carbon copy.   And copy paste the address into the BCC field.  It really depends what e-mail program you use how to enable BCC.

safari does not show url address line anynore. google is taking up most of the space on the safari page

Hover the cursor over that line until it becomes a big plus sign with arrows on the left and right. Click and drag the cursor so that the rest of the address line is the way you want it.

  • DHCP: Some clients not getting IP address

Recently setup a new DHCP server on Mac OS X Server 10.5.8 running on an Xserve.  We migrated from a Linux server.
The Xserve was originally just a file server.  So the only services currently running are: AFP, DHCP, NFS, and SMB.  No additional software is running.
The DHCP server ran just fine for the first couple weeks.  But then we found some computers just stopped getting IP addresses from the DHCP server.  Some were new computers introduced to the network.  Some were laptops that had left and come back.  However, the DHCP server is definitely still giving out IP addresses and renewing them for most new and existing computers.  There have been five computers that have not gotten IP addresses so far, and that had been the case both on the wireless and on a wired connection.  Two were PC's, one running Windows 7 and one running Windows XP with Lenovo's ThinkVantage software.  The other three were different models of MacBook Pros.
For those five computers, we managed to get them working in two ways.  One, we can select to use DHCP with a manual address.  When we do that, it manages to pick up all the other information from the DHCP server like DNS and gateway.  The second thing we can do is configure the DHCP server to supply a static IP address by providing it with the MAC address of these machines.  When we do that, the computers receive the IP address from the DHCP server.
So I guess you could say the problem I'm experiencing is for a few computers the DHCP server seems to only be able to provide static addresses, but not dynamic ones with a lease time.
I have logging set to the highest for the DHCP server.  Below is the first thing I noticed that keeps showing up.  Sometimes it shows a different MAC address than the one below.  None of the afflicted computers have that MAC address, though.  I have not seen any other errors in the logs for the DHCP server.

  • Why does mail sent using the MacOSX mail client not show up in my sent folder when I access my Gmail account in a browser?

I've recently started using my first Mac, and I hooked my work email (Forwarded to Google Mail) and my personal email (Gmail) into the MacOSX mail client. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, until I noticed that sent mail from my work email through the MacOSX Mail client is not showing up in my sent box on any other clients. Sent mail does show up in my personal email in Gmail, though.
Can anyone help me understand why mail sent from the MacOSX Mail client doesn't end up in the sent folder of my work Gmail account? I suspect it has something to do with the forwarding-to-Google process -- a sort of "too many cooks in the kitchen" situation. Has anyone heard of this problem before? What should I try?

I've been noticing that too.  Just told me there were 6 outgoing messages, even though I did not create any new messages.
One hypothesis is that it's generating those messages when a rule moves an email from one folder to another.
Can someone at Apple confirm this?

From log i know that 802.1x passed, while dhcp don't send ip address. It seems that the local vlan id is 0 while in reality is 3... WHY ? i don't understand.
Someone can help me to find the problem? i think the problem is on the network, the dhcp ( the corporate router) is directly connected to the ap.

Are you setting your FlexConnect native vlan and the wlan to vlan mapping?  You also need to make sure you have the ip helpers setup and that dhcp is working.  I would configure a switch port to a vlan that the wireless users is suppose to be on locally at that site and connect a laptop to that port and make sure that the laptop gets an address.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Contact information not showing in address book

Migrated from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and the address book shows no contacts. The data appears to have been correctly imported into my user folder > library > application support > address book folder (but the icons show up as "Unix / Terminal" not "blank").
I've run permission repair and daily / weekly / monthly maintenance routines to no avail.
    Any suggestions?

After several days of trying, i finally seem to have it working. What i ended up doing was exporting my backing up my addresses on another computer that still had Snow Leopard on it. I exported both as .abbu and vCards. I was then able to get the vCards into iCloud.
Problem was, i could not get them to import into Contacts in Mavericks. I could not even add the iCloud account to contacts. It would let me sign in and choose contacts, but iCloud never showed up in the accounts nor did the contacts show up in Contacts.
After trying repairing permissions and resetting the PRAM to no avail, it occured to me to delete the Address Book folder from /Library/Application Support
Once that folder was gone, i was able to add iCloud to the accounts and import the .abbu file from Address Book.
So if you did not export your Address Book contacts before updating, you will need a second computer that is still running Snow Leopard to export the contacts. Then you can delete the Address Book folder from the Library and you should then be able to import the contacts into Contacts on Mavericks.
    Hope this helps.

  • Clients not showing up

    Hello,
I am new to Flash Media Server. I have FMS v2 installed and
running. I have a flash application that posts some data (tracking
information) to the FMS Server whenever a user tries to play
anything using the flash application. The flash app sends data on
    port 80.
This used to work till recently when we did a server move and
after that it stopped working. I dont see any errors anywhere. Log
files, event viewer, everything is clean. The FMS server is running
on a specific IP and the ports 80, 1111 and 1935 are opened up.
I dont see clients in the FMS admin console. Does that mean
the client connection is getting rejected? Or does that mean that
the flash application is not even connecting to the Flash Media
Server? How do I troubleshoot the connection issue? I am kind of
lost because, there are no errors on the server side but the
    clients do not show up!
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Satya

Since the issue is new since the server move, my first guess
would be that either something is getting in the way of port 80
(assuming all client connections are failing), or you're not
allowing clients to use RTMPT when needed (assuming only some
    connections are failing).
If the URL argument in your client side
NetConnection.connect constructor explicitly defines port 80, the
flashplayer will try only port 80 using the protocol specified in
the URL string. If you do not define the port, and you define the
protocol as RTMP, the flashplayer will automatically try various
combination of ports and protocols if RTMP:1935 fails.
About this new server, is it Windows or Linux. If it's
windows, and you're running IIS 6 on it, did you unbind IIS from
the IP FMS is running binding to? I've found that in most cases,
IIS usually grabs port 80 (on all IP's) before FMS does. A quick
run of Netstat should tell you which service is bound to port 80 on
    the FMS ip.

  • Safari Not Showing Web Address in Address Bar after Lion Update

Sometimes the address bar is blank (save the "Go to this address" message.) Other times, it reads only the hompage address for a site I visit. For example, if I'm reading CNN.com, it will only show "www.cnn.com" no matter what page within cnn.com I go. So, for example, if I want to copy the address of a certain article, I cannot copy it from the address bar as that will only give me "http://www.cnn.com."
Other times, if I visit cnn.com, for example, and then create a new tab and go to apple.com, the new tab will not show apple's web address, but remain as cnn.com's address. If I decide I need to reload apple's website, it will reload CNN's as that is what's in the address bar.
Does anyone have a fix to this?

this happened to me too.  for one reason or another, the url address disappeared and i kept getting "go to this address".  but found this to work:
    1. minimize your screen
    2.  under the "view" menu, click "show toolbar".
    3. when you maximize your screen, the url address should now be there.
    hope it works.

  • Netinstall clients not showing but imaging okay

I have Mavericks server 3.1.2 and for NetInstall the images send to the clients and the image is working but the connected clients are not showing up in the connections tab....is there a service or port that needs to be started or opened up or turned on?

They will only appear in that tab during the (relatively) brief time that they are connected to the server. That would be the first couple of minutes when they are "preparing" the installation. After that, they reboot and perform the actual installation. During that time they aren't connected and will not show up on the server.

  • All devices listed as wireless clients not showing up.

I  have an airport extreme (newest version) I have my apple tv, computer and ipad showing up listed as wireless clients, however my iphone does not show up. It is connected to my network. I have tested with another iphone (same version 4S and same iOS) it shows up but not Mine.
Do u know why it is not showing up?

remove power cord from the PSU and >>Clear CMOS Guide<<

  • CUPC client not showing softphone but showing up under presence viewer on CUP server

    Hello,
Having a strange issue where the presence client wont show the softphone configured for them but when you go to the presence server and use the presence viewer to see what the client should be seeing, it shows up there. From that it looks like the UPC phone in call manager is being seen ok by the CUPS server but for some reason not by the client. Tried fully shutting down the client and also restarting the re-sync service on CUPS but no such luck.
    thanks

Please check if TFTP is configured on CUPS (CUPS > Application > Settings)
Also trying pulling the softphone manually from CUPC client workstation
    Command (from windows command prompt)
    tftp -i GET .cnf.xml
If this doesn't successfully downloads the file there is firewall issue in the network or on the workstation over tftp.
(Note: Windows 7 doesn't have tftp client installed by default, need to install it from Control Panel > Programs and Features > Add/Remove Windows Feature)

  • Sh arp does not show mac address of IP --- ASA

    Hi Everyone,
I can ping the IP from the ASA but when i do sh arp it does not show me mac address od that IP.
Need to know the reason behind this.
    Regards
    MAhesh
