NE2 and 1 year contracts
Hi, I'm on a family shareplan and I've had a huge problem with my phone (primary line).
My phone is on a NE2 plan that is about to end but I can upgrade my phone right now at a discounted price. Because of this, I want to upgrade to a droid BUT I only want a 1 year contract.
The problem is that on the website I don't have an option for a 1 year contract, so I can't understand what the problem is.
Online at Verizon Wireless when upgrading equipment the only option that is provided is to renew your contract for an additional 2 years, purchasing a phone under a 1 year contract is not offered for an online upgrade.

I currently have a DROID RAZR M and I'm 1 year into my 2 year contract. Since the Kitkat update, the phone won't stay charged and it's very buggy. I know this is not Verizons fault but it's also not mine. I would like to change my phone to an iPhone 5s and keep my same plan but switch to the Edge program. Is this possible? I don't think I should have to pay an early termination fee or anything like that since my phone has become almost unusable. I know under normal circumstances you have to wait 2 yrs to upgrade but due to the update and the poor service I'm now getting I hope Verizon can make an exception. Thank you.
How recently did you switch? If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account. The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices. I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

Hi I Have A Prepaid Smart Phone Right Now With Verizon For About 7-Months So Far. I Have Always Paid On Time No Missed Payments Good Standing Account, I Tried To Switch Over To A 2-Year Contract With Verizon And They Wanted A $400 Deposit For Only 1-Line. Is There Anyway I Can Use My Excellent Payment History With There Prepaid Department To Switch To A 2-Year Contract And Not Have To Pay The $400 Deposit. And This Is Due To The Fact I Have No Credit History Whatsoever
Since you have no credit history, my guess is you would need at least a year of on time payments, and I'm not sure a pre-paid account would qualify as you can stop at any time.
You didn't specify your age, but getting started int he credit world is not easy - you may try applying for a gas card, or a credit card, and USE them, pay them off each month - and expect to take a year or more to establish a record. -

Is it possible that you are using the same password for the old O2 Study and newer O2 Apple Base Station networks?
If so, Keychain Access is storing the old information about the old network and may be associating it with your AirPort Extreme settings based on the BSSID that William has mentioned.
If that's the case, open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > KeyChain Access and look for a listing with the old network name. Delete this entry. You may need to power down both the computer and the AirPort Extreme and restart them. -
Signed a 1-year contract and then AT&T raised price
I was going to cancel my service in December last year, but when I called to cancel, AT&T offered U200 for a certain rate for 12 months in exchange for me signing a contract for one-year. So I agreed to keep AT&T U-Verse for 1 year and pay that set price. Subsequent to our agreement, AT&T raised the bill by ~$4 in February (yes, the notification was in the December bill but that bill was generated after I entered into the one-year contract). I had an online chat with customer care and I was told that it is AT&T's policy to apply the rate increase even to customers who are under a contract. I sent a private message this past weekend but I have yet to hear back. It is absurd that AT&T thinks this is okay: 1) If I cancel the service before December this year, I have to pay a penalty.2) Yet AT&T can raise the rate at any time without my consent.3) If I don't like the rate increase, I can cancel the service but I still have to pay the penalty. Is anyone else having this same issue (i.e., those who have to pay a penalty if they were to cancel within the contract period, similar to how cell phone contracts work)? Please share your experience here. Thanks.

If I start a one year contract for photoshop/lightroom, and then 6 months in, I want to upgrade to the full cloud, do I get out of the rest of the payments for the photoshop/lightroom, and just start paying a total cloud fee?

Your contract is with your service provider - it has nothing at all to do with Apple.
You can buy a contract free and/or unlocked iPhone from Apple and use it with whatever carrier you wish. Your contract terms with your current service provider remain in effect for your iPhone 4s though, so if you cancel with them (or port your number out, which accomplishes the same thing) you will owe them early termination fees and so forth.
Even if you pay full retail but want to use the phone with your current service provider, you are still obligated to complete the terms of your existing contract. -

For our own consultancy and support services, we have a standard 1 month notice period.
For resold services (e.g. AV), then the contract length is the same as the vendor.
Internet services, particularly fibre, tend to be on 2 or 3 year contracts. okay i want to go to smart phone with 2 year contract. i am wavoring between the 2g to 4g plan. verizon has decided not to chat with me for the moment. because i'm annoying. my question is, can i alter the G factor as i go if i need more need less and leave everything else the same?
you can start out low and increase your data allowance as you need throughout the month, backdating it to the beginning of the billing cycle so you don't have overages; however, I found out the hard way that you cannot decrease your data allowance during the month and backdate it so you don't overpay for unused data.
what I do now is reset my data allowance to 2GB at the beginning of every bill cycle and then increase it if I get warnings that I'm going to go over... and I check it 3 days before my bill cycle ends to see if I think I might need to bump it up before the end of the bill cycle
it's annoying, but otherwise I end up paying thru the nose for overages or overpaying for data I don't use
BTW, I'm on the More Everything plan, which is the same plan you'll get unless you go Edge (where you pay the full price for the phone but don't get the 2-year commitment to it) -

no. edge is payment plan for new phones being paid at full price.

It's all very confusing to me, I need some answers from experienced customers.I already checked. I purchased my iPhone 3G on the launch date back in July '08. I've paid the bill the day my bill was issued, days ahead of its due date, and for some reason, even through it's magic 8-ball wisdom, said I was not eligible for and upgrade. Not till Dec. of this year at least.
So even though my phone is now technically 'mine' and off their contract, they still won't unlock it for me? How come? -

There are some things that we must share with you.
As long as you have an active 3G prepaid service for 6 months or a 4G device (no restrictions) and pass the credit check and/or pay any required security deposit this can be done. Any voicemails will be deleted once you are set up on the postpy system. From there, you can call 800-256-4646 (800-2-JOIN-IN) or visit a VZW Retail store http://bit.ly/3SdsA to complete the migration.
