Need 2 Audigy4 software files missing after auto-update

Hi:
Two requests here... (thanks in advance).
I performed an auto-update of my SBAudigy4 software components, only
to find unfortunately that the following files are now missing (and maybe
more):
"C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy4\Entertainment Center\RCSettings.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy4\Audio Device Selection\CTAudSel.exe"
The original CD does not let me re-install the application, and the binaries
above are in ".cab" files which, try as I may with several CAB tools, I can't
open up.
Can anyone who has the latest version of these two files, zip them up and email
them to me. Actually, if its not too much trouble (or to big) the entire
"Entertainment Center" and "Audio Device Selection" directories would be
great, in case I'm missing a few more files than I realize.
Also, does anyone happen to have a PDF file explaining how to configure
the RM-500 remote control. I got the Audigy4Pro with my Alienware and
don't see a manual. (and the "manual.chm" file sucks).

Thanks for replying. Yes, the files are probably on the CD but, as I mentioned, are compressed
in any one of several ".CAB" files which I cannot open no matter what CAB tool I use. Could you
send them to me... that would be grand. Either the two files I specified, or even better, the entire
directory each file is held in would be great. A zip or rar file with that data will do.

Software files disappeared after last update!

No idea what has happened but the day after the latest automatic update was installed (I think it was iTunes), half of my software is gone... Safari, Adobe CS3, OpenOffice... who knows what else. System Preferences->Software Update->Installed Software shows everything you've installed via Software Update. No reason to guess. The automatic software update won't muck with anything except what's associated with the update and automatically deletes items without putting them into the Trash. Something else occurred WRT the current Trash issue. What? I have no idea since I wasn't there. That's something for you to ascertain.

Files missing after mavericks update

some of my sensite files were hidden inside my system folder, and are now gone after the mavericks update. how can i recover them?

The view from the command line in Terminal.app is the canonical source for the files on a system, so I'd confirm that the path matches your expectations — you can drag file or folder icons from the Finder window directly into Terminal to get the path visible — enter a # to prevent accidental execution, then drag the file or folder icon right to the input line in Terminal — and confirm you're where you think you are.
Check that your date and time and your time zone are set correctly on all systems.
Per Apple, do not log directly into the server console with a network account.

Archived files missed after deletion job

Hi All,
We are generally doing the techinical archiving for some objects in ECC 6. Here for one object, write job & delete job is finished. but any how, archived file is missed before store job. There was some hardware failure.
Now, we have get them restored from backup but i am not able to access the restored files from tcode SARA to store them in our storage server. It is still showing the files as failed in Store job archive file selection screen.
I need to store those files in our storage server but archive file is not accessible from file system.
Now, please let me know, what should i do in this case.

Hi,
I do a little bit of Archiving using SARA, but not any expert
We had such situations when the file was deleted from OS level while Archiving run was in progress at SARA.
What we do in such situation is to disable the existing Run in "SARA" -> Put in Archiving Object name --> click Management, click on the failed Run and "Mark it for deletion".
Start a new run for the same Archiving object, Keep the variant same ( I mean keep the selection dates same as earlier run) and start all over again with Write, delete, store etc.
I dont know how much it helps
Might be different from the scenario you might have on hand.

HT4477 One complete family file missing after installing iPhoto 11 ??

One complete family file of photo's is missing after installing iPhoto 11. Installation went smoothly, and all other files complete. Have checked thru entire photo lists, including photo list at the top. Found two photo's in that should have been in that photo list that were downloaded 2 months prior to installing iPhoto 11. I keep files of each family branch on left side iPhoto window. Only the one file is missing. ????

I meant folder. Have 6 kids, and to keep track of each family quickly, I set up folders on left side of iPhoto. All others are there.

Solved problem by finding a folder in CS5 Photoshop set up files.. under the folder payloads.. and installing setup file for Adobe Help from there.. also installed updates from Adobes website for Media Player and Air...

Itunes help file missing after 10.5 upgrade - Help!

upgrade itunes to 10.5 through auto updater... and now there is no help funtion. Just a message about missing URL. I am of course online and all other sites work. How can they screw-up an upgrade like this! Now I waste my Sunday trawling the forums.

Have you looked directly in the folder Library/Fonts to make sure the font is really missing (and you are not just getting a bad message from iWeb)? If you open TextEdit and do Format > Font > Show Fonts, is this font really missing from the list?

After auto update recently, norton internet security won't work. error message:windows cannot access specified path...you may not have appropriate permissions to access item

Firefox did an auto update and since then I cannot open/run Norton Internet Security. It won't even let me update it or re-install it. I get an error message stating Windows cannot find the specified path. You may not have appropriate permissions to access this.

You might also try this command to restore your access control list.

Visual Studio is a very invasive program and which provides the ability to enumerate projects and solutions for system, user should never try uninstalling it manually without any guidance.
Visual Studio made changes for your whole system, if the file has been moved or deleted this error would occur.
Since you mentioned that you get this error almost everywhere even in control panel. We suggest you repair/reinstall your Visual Studio first and check if it could be fixed.

Why doesnt foxyspider work with 26.0 after auto update

I was using foxyspider successfully for several months until firefox auto updated to version 26. After the update it will no longer download. All other functions work but files will not be saved. A new page will open and thumbnails are visible, but when the option to save files manually or select all files is chosen and a location is selected to download, nothing happens. Again, it worked properly with the previous version of firefox.. I have contacted the developer of foxyspider twice but have received no reply. If it does not work anymore, I will have to give it a poor rating. Before firefox 26.0 foxy spider was 10 of 10 but no it is a big zero.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension?
It looks like the developer isn't very active on his social media channels, but you might try reaching out there.

Which update to Mac OS X are you speaking of? Your profile is incomplete; you should indicate exactly which Mac model and speed you have, along with the specific version fo Mac OS X and any external peripherals that may be connected. There was no update for Mail. And where did you get IE for Mac, since it hasn't been available for several years now, not even from Microsoft. It's dead; extremely insecure, unsupported, kaput.
As for your bookmarks, I don't think they're gone, since you didn't find them in the Trash; they're probably still on your system. You should look in this directory for a file named Bookmarks.plist: /Users/your username/Library/Safari. If you see it there, then you do have them; if not, try searching your entire hard drive for that specific file to see if it's still there and where it's located.
If her hard drive has 10 GB or less of space, time to start clearing out the junk you don't need or don't use. That fact alone could have been a factor in this problem, but it's unclear at this point.

Lost sound QT X after auto update

I just got this MacBook with Lion 0.7.5 and I had sound. It did an auto update and I lost audio and video on a particular website. I have a/v on youtube and I have audio on cd. Something is wrong. Can someone help? I'm trying to learn Apple, I'm more MS familiar. Thanks, breeze

Breeze, try taking the QuickTime 7.6.6 download. It's the older 32-bit player that can work with almost every audio/video codec available - and many of the files used on various websites can be made to work if you get the correct codec packs.
Right now there is a whole change happening and one of the updates you took may have flipped a settings switch somewhere.. DO be mindful that Mavericks 10.9 IS FREE and if you do take that upgrade, you will absolutely WANT to re-install the QT7.6.6 asnd install all the codecs again, as 10.9 is now stepped up on the video to 64-bit processing and it's also embedded the playback function further down into the operating system, closer to the hardware level.. Ugh.
Here's the list to try, I've made this for the people with video issues in Mavericks, but all these options work well enough on every OS as far back as Tiger Mac OS X 10.4 (I have this installation package on one of my machines)
Start with QT 7.6.6. - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL923
Get Perian, and install it. - http://perian.org
then VLC, - http://videolan.org
DivX - http://divx.com - and the
Flip4Mac package from Telestream - http://www.telestream.net/flip4mac/
A52/AC3 downloader: https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/21875/a52codec - In this installer package there is an audio A52Codec.component. DO NOT USE IT! Throw it out and use the one that is linked below.
This is what I've put into my system and so far I've gotten every file to run fine, even my oldest videos.
These are codecs you should see.
In System/Library/QuickTime
     AppleIntermediateCodec.component
     AppleMPEG2Codec.component* (*optional if you've bought it)
     DivX Decoder.component
     Flip4Mac WMV Advanced.component
     Flip4Mac WMV Export.component
     Flip4Mac WMV Import.component
In your Home/Library/QuickTime/
     AC3MovieImport.component (you may or may not want this component, in some instances it causes conflicts. In my system, it doesn't. Who knows why? I don't.)
     Perian.component

Perian is a System Prefences control panel and set it so it doesn't check for updates, since it is no longer in development. (but still works perfectly)

Firefox wont connect after auto update!!

Hi, for ages now my Firefox has tried to auto update every so often. After the update it would never connect to the internet, so I would uninstall and re install the previous version that i still had in my downloads list. However, yesterday it did the same thing, so I uninstalled but the old version installer has vanished from my downloads list!! So i set about trying to get the updated version to work. Allowing it on the firewall, turning off firewall...nothing. I just don't understand!! Please help!!

Problems with login on iPod after auto update of S...

My father-in-law "V" uses Skype on iPod. Recently Skype auto-updated and "V" could no longer login into his account. I tried to help, sending his email on file to Skype and getting instructions on how to reset password. I suspected that he just forgot right spelling of his PW. Email came from Skype with instructions on resetting PW, but I noticed that Skype name mentined there is almost right. Almost is because it had extra "1" in the end, which "V" did not have. I had to delete and re-install Skype on his iPod to make it work. I tried to use his correct Skype name in Login space and new password, but it did not work. Then I used his name with extra"1" at the end as in Skype's email and newly changed PW. And it worked, but surely enough, all his contacts were gone.
How can we restore his login to right name which he always used? This, I assume, would solve problem of vanished contacts. How come his Skype name suddenly changed without "V" himself doing that?

In reference to the linked article I already had the ipod options set to automatically update the podcasts for selected episodes. I just set it to manual and back to automatic, perhaps this will fix it. The mysterious podcasts playlist has appeared twice today for me so far.

No file sharing after system update

Yesterday, I performed a System Update. Since then, my Z61t has not allowed file sharing on my network. Prior to and after the update, I have made no configuration changes to my file sharing settings. I have checked the settings, and they are proper. I have tried unsuccessfully to stop and restart sharing. The Z61t and its shared drives and folders can be seen from other network computers in their respective My Network Places, but when trying to connect to any shared drive or folder of my Z61t, I receive an error message. The error message states that the drive is "not accessible." It also states, "You may not have permission to use this network resource," and "Not enough server storage is available to process this command." Not even the Shared Documents folder is available on the network. This is not a firewall issue, because I have tried unsuccessfully to connect with the firewall turned off.
Will some kind soul please help me determine what the problem is and how to fix it?

Try if your network works ok.
Start command promt in Z61t
type ipconfig
Start command promt in your other pc
type ping "ip addred of z61t"
IF this fails your network is not ok or firewalled.
also try to disable simple file sharing from folder options.

Proxy settings undetected after auto update

Following Thursday's automatic updates I can no longer access the web. On Windows Network Diagnostics, the error message is 'Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings'. I can't see that I have any proxy settings... I have an HP Desktop PC HP P6-2260, and I use Windows 7. It works OK if I do a System Restore - but I don't want to have to do one of those everytime I go on the computer. Any suggsestions?

Thanks Jaco. I had a good look at the updates that were causing the problem. Many of them related to security, so I checked my security software, and after running updates there it solved the problem - the microsoft updates must have been clashing with the security updates in some way.
