Need 3.1.2 Firmware...

The download through iTunes is not working... something with the fact that I bought it once before and now iTunes is pulling an "apple" and will not just give me the #@*% file like I want. Soooo I need to find a place OUTSIDE of Apple which can't seem to make things simple in order to get the firmware and repair my bricked iTouch. Unless of course Apple wants to make the file downloadable and NOT in iTunes!!! Excuse my frustration but I have just lost FOUR hours searching for the file and gave up in a very irritated state of mind.

I'm gonna try and call, get a live person on the phone. I don't want the 3.1.3 I need to restore it to factory.

I purchased a Hyundai Elantra.  My IPod will not load.  Trying my son's Ipod, that one loaded.  The cable and the automobile software do not seem to be the problem.  Someone suggested that I need to update my firmware but I do not know the steps in going about doing this.  Will someone out there list them for me.  Thank you,

    Hello,
If it is a PowerBook G4 with a PC Card slot, you have two possibilities. You could buy a USB card reader for SD, or a PC Card adapter (such as SanDisk's 6-in-1adapter). Please note that you are or may be limited to plain SD (that is, not SDHC) unless otherwise noted. For a USB reader, make sure that it has Mac support. BTW, is an SD card absolutely necessary for the firmware update; is there not a way of updating via cable? If you post back with the camera model, someone may be able to provide additional information.

Help very Need WRT 54G V7, firmware 7.00.6
I updated to 7.00.8 and now device work not stable
WhenI have 7.00.6 firmware it work not bad.

Well its not possible to restore the earlier firmware back on your Router. Since you have already upgraded the firmware on your Router, Have you resetted your Router and re-configured all the settings on it again? Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

did you not have your keychain remember it for you? this is the best way to save passwords for Mac its under "Utilities-->Keychain access" if it was saved and just not put in your password field you can check in there for the password.
if you need to reset your AP Extreme there is a small hole on the back locate that and follow the instructions here

  • My airport extreme is saying that I need to upgrade the firmware to 7.3.1 but I can't find where to get that download.

I bought a new airport extreme on ebay and it works but as soon as I hooked it up it says I need to update the firmware to 7.3.1 and gives me a link to go to but it won't give me an option for that update.  I tried the other updates that it gives an option for but none of them work.  Help!

OK, if your Extreme is an original "round" 802.11b/g model you need AirPort Utility 5.6. The problem with that version is that Mountain Lion will refuse to let you install it. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with using AirPort Utility 5.6 and your older Extreme should work just fine with your new MacBook.
This dilemma is easily solved. You simply need to extract the app from the installer package using a package extractor like Pacifist or unpkg. Pacifist is shareware, unpkg is free.
    Download Pacifist here: http://www.charlessoft.com/
    Download unpkg here: http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Download AirPort Utility 5.6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
When the AirPort Utility .dmg file finishes downloading, open it to expand and reveal the AirPortUtility56.pkg package installer file.
Directions for Pacifist (I do not have screenshots for unpkg but the idea is similar):
Open Pacifist and from its File menu, navigate to the package and open it.
Click the "reveal triangles" until you see AirPort Utility 5.6.app:
Select it and then click Install from Pacifist's toolbar. It will then be installed in your Utilities folder, and you can quit Pacifist.
Mountain Lion will not allow you to delete its existing version of AirPort Utility. Just ignore it. It and the older version (which will bear the unique name "AirPort Utility 5.6") can peacefully coexist. Launch AirPort Utility 5.6 and firmware upgrade options for your older Extreme will be available.
If you happen to have an archived copy of the AU 5.6 app somewhere, such as a Time Machine backup or equivalent, you can simply restore it or drag the app to your Mountain Lion system's Utilities folder instead of resorting to the above procedure. It will run without complaint. It is only the package installer that is the problem.
If you have an older computer with a version of AirPort Utility earlier than 6.0, you can administer it that way as well.

  • Do I need to update my firmware?

I'm about to be moving to a new MacBook Pro. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that before running Migration Assistant to move any data files that I need to ensure my firmware is current. How do I determine if this is the case?

You do not need to update the firmware on a 17-inch PowerBook prior to running the Migration Assistant, and there are no firmware updates available for your computer.

  • I need the the latest firmware for Airport Extreme Model A1034 (M8799LL/A)

    Hello everybody:
I want to flash my Airport Extreme Model A1034(M8799LL/A)with the latest firmware available..
    My Airport have a internal modem , 1 Wan , 1 Ethernet & 1 USB ports
I checked some firmware updates, but I am not sure what is the correct update ..
I don't want to ruin my Airport for flashing the Airport with the wrong update ..
I only have Windows Xp computers ,, I need a Mac to do it ?
Please somebody help me to find the update ,,
    Thanks in advance ,,

Do you know if this is still the case? (Version 5.7 is still the latest available for the 802.11g version of the AirPort Extreme Base Station).
I'm a little confused after the release of AirPort Base Station Update 2007-002 for Windows:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/airportbasestationupdate2007002forwindows .html
It clearly states that "AirPort Utility v5.2.1 software supports the AirPort Extreme Base Station with 802.11n, AirPort Extreme Base Station and AirPort Express Base Station." But then if you read the System Requirements it says that you need:
    * Windows XP with Service Pack 2
    * Windows Vista
    * AirPort Utility 5.0 or later
    * AirPort Extreme Base Station with *802.11n*
So what is the latest version for the 802.11g version of the AirPort Extreme Base Station?
    Thanks

  • I need Help updating Open Firmware!

I'm struggling to update to MacOSX 10.2 from 9.2 however every time I try to boot up the system with the OSX CD I get the "WSOD"(White Screen of Death) that lets me do nothing. So I try accessing the Open Firmware and I still get a question marked disk icon after booting with CD. I currently have Open Firmware version 2.01f.
Where do I go from there? Can memory be an issue.

    Don Archibald...
"" Open Firmware is not the same as the machine's firmware version, in spite of the similar names. Open Firmware can not be upgraded; firmware can be upgraded. ""
Unless it is me, this rather tells me it is one in the same.
(Sorry for breaking out in a story) ....
When I did my iMac V 1.2 firmware upgrade, my iMac Firmware version was 3.0.f3 then changed to verson 3.0.f2 within the Open Firmware screen.
mrjcd and myself did later discover some later iMac 333 did ship with a 3.0.f3, build date 07/16/99 of which was not like my iMac 333, 3.0.f3, build date 12/02/98.
As a result of Apple System Profiler is not able to report things properly, so using Open Firmware is rather a must in confirming the real need for the firmware update.

  • HT2128 I need to open a firmware update to my rinter and Photoshop 'does not recognize this firle' is what I get. what can I do?  J. dunn

I need to download some firware  update from the internet.  Photoshop says it does not recognize this file and will not open it.  what should I do??? thanks, Judi

I downloaded a Lexmark firmware update file for a color laser printer, just to see what it contained.
It downloaded as a .zip file.
I double-clicked the .zip file to un-zip it. (Sorry, I'm not sure which program actually did the unzipping.)
Once unzipped, it contained several files for multiple operating systems, including Windows and OS X.
Double-clicking on the PrinterFileLoader.dmg should start the installation on your Mac.
Opening the README Updating firmware.pdf file and selecting the Mac section revealed:
*There were additional images on this page that I couldn't capture with a screenshot.
Your firmware update README file should contain similar information.

  • Need 7.5.4 firmware for SPA525G2 on UC540

Customer has UC540 and SPA525G2 phones.  The "phone load" on the UC540 installs firmware 7.5.2a on the phones.  The customer wants to use Plantronics headsets with EHS (Electronic Hook Switch) and there is apparently a bug in 7.5.2a that prevents EHS from working.  I see 7.5.4 firmware says EHS has been fixed.
So is there a way to add the 7.5.4 onto the UC540 so the phones will downlod it and upgrade themselves?  Is there any danger of the phones doing this upgrade over the VPN?
    Thanks!
    Phil

You can get the firmware from Cisco's website (Support -> Downloads -> SPA525G2, etc)
When you have the firmware on hand, open CCA and drag/drop the fimware as suggested by Brian Rapier.
As far as 7.5.4 fixing the EHS problem, I confirm that in our case it did indeed solve 3 clients with that very same issue as you are having with Plantronics. So I think you can be confident the issue will be fixed after that.
BUT, you need to do some tweeking on the phone themselves after the phones are on version 7.5.4
First, you need to enable Web editing by physically changing that on the phone. Somewhere in the settings of the phone.
Then, you need to access the website of every phone that will be using a headset and under the "Voice Menu", you go under the User tab.
You'll have a "Electronic HookSwich Control" dropdown that you will change to yes.
By the way, as of June of this year, there is a new firmware version 7.5.5 . I haven't tested it yet though so I cannot comment on that version.

  • Need to downgrade to firmware 7.3.2 - look at firmware binary file

After upgrading to firmware 7.4.2 from 7.3.2 my Airport Express went bad.
I believed there was something wrong with my Apple softwares, so I uninstalled all airport express, itunes, ... from the PC and reinstall all.
Now I am sure it is because of the firmware, but when I try to upload older firmware, there are no more on my PC and I deeply checked on the Net but find nowhere where I can find a 7.3.2 firmware file.
If someone has it on his PC, please send it to me (can be done through MP or email to [email protected])
    Thank you in advance.

QuickTime- How to uninstall for reinstallation of the software?
    1. Quit all applications.
    2. Go to your /Applications folder and Trash the current application "QuickTime Player.app"
    3. Then go to /Library/Receipts/
    4. Look for QuickTime related receipt files. Only remove the QuickTime version updates.
    -- SUCH ITEMS TO REMOVE: QuickTime.pkg, QuickTime652.pkg, QuickTime701.pkg or QuickTime713.pkg.
-- DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE: QuickTimeMPEG2.pkg, QuickTimeMPEG2Pro.pkg and QuickTimeProMedia.pkg files.
    5. Place installer receipt files in the Trash. So, now you have "uninstalled" QuickTime.
    6. To download the most current version of QuickTime go to:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/mac.html
OR YOUR REQUESTED VERSION GO TO THIS ADDRESS INSTEAD:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime712formac.html
    7. After download is complete. Continue with installation by following the on screen instructions. This particular installation will require a restart.
NOTE: There are other files/folders located on the system, that are also QuickTime related and may need to be removed. However, it is not usually necessary due to the removal of Installer package receipt files. There is the possibility certain lower system level frameworks are not "downgraded" during the installation of QuickTime 7.1.2.
