My Client have oracle 8.1.5.0.0 running on Sun OS.but he does not have CSI number(they were Missed that Number).but now we are facing some problem regarding Oracle old patch.so that i need Oracle 8.1.5.0.2 patch.
What shall i do for getting Oracle patch 8.1.5.0.2 without CSI number?
Please help me for my problem.

Can't unzip Patch file for OBIEE release 11.1.1.6.4

Hi,
When i try to unzip the patch file p14285344_111164_Generic.zip for 11.1.1.6.4 on Linux x64 i get the following message
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of p14285344_111164_Generic.zip or
p14285344_111164_Generic.zip.zip, and cannot find p14285344_111164_Generic.zip.ZIP, period.
The other files making up the 11.1.1.6.4 release unzip ok.
I've seen this issue with other patch files for different releases.
Anyone seen this before and know why this is?

Looks like the .zip file is got disconnect during download. To confirm the same try to unzip on Windows.
I've downloaded it and unzipped with no issues.
BTW: Try this command
jar xvf p14285344_111164_Generic.zip

What happens when you try? Are you sure you've got the right disc--you have discs for both mac and windows operating systems?

I have Windows 98 and need Acrobat to open up the pdf files for 5.0

I have the old system, Windows 98 and presently have the free Adobe 5.0 version on my Compaq Presario Computer, and it is a 5242 model desktop.
I have inadvertanly switched over to Compaq Carbon Copy 32 Version 5.0 but since, have uninstalled it and now, on each of what was the pdf files initially of which I have, of which is at least 16 or more, on each of those files, an error message comes up and says "PROGRAM NOT FOUND," and states the following: "Windows cannot find CCW32EXE. This program is needed for opening the pdf files." And then it has a dialogue box with the computer operational symbol in it as C:\ and then it wants me to locate it. I cannot locate it through the "auto" because, this sytem being so old, doesn't have a magnifying glass or a "search" tool to do this in the "My Computer Icon on the Desktop as the Compaq people wanted me to do. I would have to do this manually. I have already talked to the Compaq people on their chat line and because of this, they said they couldn't help me with this problem and referred me over to you.
I've tried to find a download for 5.0, though I really don't think I need one since it is currently installed. I believe the proper way to fix this is to just convert the CCW32EXE over to the Acrobat pdf files and have those files opened and should open up all of my 15 or so files altogether at the same time because they all converted over to something else at the same time prior.
Are you able to help me?
But I believe to alleviate this problem, if you could just give me the information to be able to open up the pdf files to 5.0 and find out what download I may pursue, it might be able to correct this problem. I already have the 5.0 Acrobat installed, however.

I have followed your directions and I have the old system of Windows 98, so I had to go to "programs" and come up to Acrobat 5.0 and once in there, all of the Window there is greyed out, although I can still go to the tool bars above in it. I went to "file" and went to "open" and from there, I received an "open" window with a dialogue box in it and in that dialogue box as I scrolled down, it wants me to put in there, one of the following, "desktop," "my documents," "3 1/2 floppy [A:]," "[C:]," "system _save [D:]," ""[E:," "[F:]," ete; of these which do I pick in the "open" dialogue box? and down at the bottom, is the FILE NAME and what do I put in there? Just below that, it has the FILES OF TYPE which has there Adobe pdf Files, in it's dialogue box. I hit these, but I still get an error message of which basically says, "NOT FOUND, please put in proper file name given." And I don't know actually where it is given.

Is the patch you're talking about for Leopard itself, or for
the extension? If the patch is for Leopard, I'd assume that You'd
have to get it from Apple, but I don't know where to look for that.
If the patch is for the extension, then you probably need to go to
the developer's site to see if the patch is posted there, or
contact the developer directly to see where this patch may be if
indeed it is necessary.

Minimal compile & link files for sun sparc?

i have been developing an oci dir path project using redhat linux 7.3 (2.4.x.) & gcc 2.96. (see http://sourceforge.net/projects/odpd/) i am using a dev copy of ora9i release 9.2.0.1.0 installed on the linux dev machine. i would like to compile the project on a sun sparc box using sun's C++ compiler 5.3.
so, i would like to get my hands on solaris versions of headers & libraries for #include & linking. i don't see any need to actually run the app against an installed version of ora9i under solaris; i just want to compile & link. further, i don't have root# access on target machine, so ora9i install isn't really an option.
the target machine:

on the linux dev machine:

Go to http//otn.oracle.com. On the downloads menu select Oracle Instant Client.
From the 'Instant Client Downloads' page you should be able to find IC packages to download for available platforms, e.g. Solaris SPARC 64-bit. (Latest version is 11.2.0.3.)

Prime Infrastructure 2.0 is not accepting ubf patch file for upload

Hi,
After successfully installing Prime Infrastructure 2.0 on a single server via OVA file in ESX, i tried to install all the latest patches.
- pi_update_2.0-3.zip was installed successful
But for the patch "pi_dev_pack_update_2.0-10.ubf" i was not be able to do the file-upload via the Web-GUI.
Is there anyone who knows how to put this file on the Prime server and how to install this patch via CLI ?

After downloading the file, go to "Administration > Software Update", click upload
update file, browse to the file location that you've downloaded.
Once the file has beenuploaded, you can select the update and click install.
After installing, it shouldindicate "Pending Restart" = Yes. You will likely need to
go to the cli and do an "ncs stop" and then "ncs start".

Need to add alphabet coordinates in xml file for typewriter file

I have a flash typewriter file which displays text that is
preloaded inside the flash file. It has an animated pencil that
"draws" out each character. It gets it's letter coordinates from an
xml file and I would like to add a few more symbols so it would
draw them out. How do I get started on figuring this out. The
coordinates in the xml file must have been generated by some kind
of software because I can't imagine the author of this file hand
wrote each one. I tried to contact the author but I think they're
too busy or not interested.

The link does not give enough explanation. What I am assuming is if you have xml string in one field then if you need to add new line after each tag then you can follow that.
If you want a udf where you want to insert a new line use this udf:
Create a Value UDF with one input argument 'a' and name the udf as addnewline. Then add this code:
Imports: java.*;
String lines;
lines = "";
lines = lines.concat(a + '\n' );
return lines;
Then where ever you want a new line just add this udf in your mapping. If you want a new line for 10 fields then you can put in all the 10 fields.
Example:
Source field --> logic --> udf (addnewline) --> target.
So after logic if you have the value as 123 then in the target you will see 123 followed by a carriage return.

I need to find and upload a hidden file for an app service issue

I need to locate a hidden file, filename.plist which is on a networked drive, and upload it to the company;s wed=biste for the to support the app. Obviously 'filename' is just a word. there is a long and complex filename.
Finder spins its wheels uselessly when I ask it to search. The action gear thingy has no useful options to see hidden files that I can see. And the upload part of the website, while it lets me enter the filename in the search box, just spins uselessly, too.
The file is held on a networked freestanding drive. That isn't of itself, any real problem. I just need to find it and upload it so I can get support. I don;t mind using some utility to grab a copy of it somehow, and uploading that! BUT I am not hugely technical, so I need to be spoon fed.

You can use Terminal to find the file you are looking for.
Let's say your network drive is named Net_Drive
find /Volumes/Net_Drive -name filename.plist
if you know the exact file name or
find /Volumes/Net_Drive -name *.plist
to search for all file names ending with .plist

As a tech geek that now has an iPad, I am looking for ways to improve the way I perform daily work functions through using the iPad vice a laptop. I am a regional service manager, and as such spend a lot of time on the road. I am hoping the iPad can make that travel easier.
I've already purchased programs such as Documents to Go, Print Central, Keynote, and PDF Expert. I even looked at ServiceMax.
Here is my issue. Currently, our service reports, inspection checklists, and parts ordering forms are all part of one ugly excel file that is 1MB in size and loaded with complicated formulas and macros. I know, having read some in these forums that the macros don't convert well, if at all. I also see that some PDF forms have issues.
ServiceMax was ideal, but it only interfaces with Salesforce.com and not Oracle, which is what we use.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a similar APP to ServiceMax, or an app/program that will allow me to custom create service reports that I and my team can utilize?

Do I need to save down a Photoshop CC file for someone to open from CS4?

I'm working from Creative Cloud version of Photoshop. Client is asking for files to be saved back to CS4 (mostly for InDesign, but I've done some jobs such as eblast in Photoshop). Is there a method, or will verison of Photoshop CS4 open CC PSD's?

There is no option to save back to CS4. If you are given them Jpeg files it should not natter. I you are giving them layered files you should save PSDor PSB with Maximize PSD and PSB File Capability: set to Always in your Photoshop preferences. You should also avoid using Photoshop features not in CS4 when processing images for them.. For example a shape layer with a stroke pathe using styled line like dots or dashes. Should you use features not in CS4 a layered PSD or PSB with Maximize PSD and PSB File Capability may be usable in CS4.

another approach could be to just build a custom bash package yourself using
the available changes published here:

That's the build infrastructure and source we use to build the official Solaris 11
IPS packages.

Patch 14 PDB files (for support purposes)

I am attemting to apply patch 14 after the initial installation of SAP GUI 7.10. As a relative newbie to SAP GUI responsibilities, can anyone advise if I require both Patch 14 files? The SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 patch installed without any errors; however, when I tried to install the PDB files (for support purposes) I received a .NET error 'object reference not set to an instance of an object'. Is this files required in order for me to proceed? Any suggestions for reference material?

Hello Johanna,
no, you don't need the PDB file. It's only for support issues and you will be asked from support to install that too if needed.
So just install the Patch file. That's fine and enough.
