Totally different studies, though a volcanic eruption in Java might result in one on Java it's probably not a given that such would happen. Not at all. You would have to install a bunch of sensors on various mountains in Indonesia. Have them transmit suitable data to your server on a regular basis. After a while, analyze that data and attempt to predict volcanic eruptions.ah, but would those be eruptions IN Java or ON Java?
Such a study would be of interest maybe in that it might help determine whether the two phenomena are related, but no more than that.

  • Need some project titles that can be done in java servlets and jsp or ejb

I am final year cs engg student. I have completed course in java,j2ee. I have done the library management project in servlet. I need some project titles for my final year project. My interests includes, networking, desktop applications.

Perhaps start with something Swing (or JavaFX) and perhaps use that to monitor a network, detect intrusions, dynamically load balance, etc. Really, it's whatever will stimulate you through a long project. If you have an idea in mind, but are having difficulties with how to come up with a spiffy title, then post more detail, and we can try and help.

  • Changing a project title

I need to change the main title that shows in the browser on
    a FlashHelp project, as in
    <title>Projectv3.5.3</title>
I work with RoboHelp irregularly and haven't had to do this
in a while. I can't remember where to make the change now.
If you can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate
    it.

Well, I set up my test, with five instruments added in five different versions, and each time changing the name. I also *Saved As* and created a new folder to save to, a couple of times, and also saved the final version in a different subfolder.
I then deleted the first version ......... and the final one still played.
I'm still a weeny bit scared though, to go through deleting so much stuff, even though I'd like to free up my Logic files.
If I saved all the files as they are now to a USB stick, or burnt them on a CD, would I be able to 'bring-back-to life' any project which didn't open, once I've cleaned up ?

  • Can't see event titles or project titles when looking at photos in the photo view in Aperture 3?

    Howdy,
I recently switched from iPhoto 11 to Aperture 3. The only drawback so far is I am unable to view Project Titles when I am viewing all of my photos in the photo view. In iPhoto, I often would look at all of my photos in photo view while displaying the event titles. Is this possible in Aperture? Also, is there a simple way to view the file names underneath the photos in photo view instead of seeing the version name?

Hi Greg.  Welcome to Aperture and the Apple Aperture users forum.

You should set up all seven of the Metadata Overlays to meet your needs.  (iPhoto is designed as a turn-key operation for those who prefer their meals prepared; Aperture is a kitchen for those who like to cook.)

Have you looked at Projects View (click "Projects" at the top of the Library tab of the Inspector)?  You can group your Projects by Folder or by Year, and you can sort them in a number of ways.  There is no information pane which shows up on Aperture as you scroll (as there is in iPhoto).
Projects View, imho, add tremendous functionality to Aperture.  You can add descriptions to your Projects (and these are included in searches) via the Projects Information window ("{Shift}+i" with a Project selected.)

  • Newbie Needs Help - PreE7 - using text/titles

I'm learning PE7 and I'm having difficulty achieving the results I want with text - I hope someone can help...
I have a 'visual' (screen capture) you can view here in my photoshop gallery here: http://tinyurl.com/ybeu2t9
My Goal: To create a video from still images with occasional, black, blank clips with text in between.
My Problem:  Some of my text is 'animated' and I don't want it to be.  I can't figure out how to remove the animation nor do I understand why it's happening in the first place.
If you look at my 'visual', you'll see:
item (1) is a clip where I have a still image (repositioned on a black background) with text over it.  Both the text and the image are set to fade out to the next still in the video... I'm not quite sure how I managed to achieve this but the results are what I want for this one.
item (2) is a clip where I created a blank and then added text to it.  When I play it, the text is static (not animated at all) and this is just the way I want it to be.
item (3) - here I tried to duplicate what I did with item 2 (though with different text), that is, create static text but when I play the video, it is faded in, which I do  not want.  I noticed that it has a little, double-photo, icon in the corner just as item 1 has so I assume it is the indicator that something is happening here but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove it.
    I'll appreciate any help!
Oh, and if it's important to know, I'm using Windows Vista 64.
Lady of the Thorns (aka Rose)

    Welcome to the forum.
Thank you for the screen-cap. What I suspect is happening is that you are actually altering an existing Title - one with animation already appled. When you create a Title and drag it to the Timeline, or the Sceneline, you are placing an "instance" of that Tilte only. One can have unlimited instances of the same Title. If you change, say the text in that instance, you are changing it for that Title, so if you have multiple instances, they all will change.
Now, PrE allows one to do a Title Template, and also allows one to create new Styles. To do Titles that will be the same, with only text changes, the Title Template is easy to use, but you need to do multiple ones, changing the text, as is required of each of those multiple Tiltles. They will now appear in the Project Panel as separate Titles. You can then have multiple instances of any of these.
An example would be a Title Template with animation and a Style that you want, that says "Place Text Here." You'd bring that Template into your Project and then change that text to "Meanwhile, back at the ranch," and you want it to crawl across the screen (Animation) Now, you want that particular Title to be used in 4 places in your Timeline. You'd just drag it to the required spots. All would read, "Meanwhile, back at the ranch." All will crawl. If you change the text in one, all will update. That is not what we want. If we want a static Title to read, "Looking down on the ranch," we need to do a new Title for that. We'd not use the Template, but could use the Style that we created and saved, creating a new, static Title with our new text.
On a sidenote, PrPro (PrE's big brother) has a similar Titler. One neat feature on it is a little icon that allows one to do a new Title, but based on the one in the Titler. When chosen, this opens a Title naming dialog box, and then creates a new Title. All attributes will be the same, and initially will have the same text. We change that, and it's in a new Title, so it does not affect any other Titles. This is a big timesaver, and I hope that PrE will add it.
One additional thing to remember is that the PrE Title animations will affect only one line of text. If one wants animation of multiple lines of text, they need to do one Title for each line of text and then add the animation to each separate Title. These would then be placed in separate Video Tracks, one above the other, so it appears as one Title on the Timeline.
Hope that this is your issue, and that I have helped you solve the problem. If not, please tell me where I went wrong.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • InDesign CC no longer packages fonts when I need to send a project to the printer

Hey Adobe team: Long-time user from when Photoshop was but a sprout. I recently upgraded from Creative Suite 6 to Creative Cloud and have run into a troubling problem. InDesign CC no longer packages fonts when I need to send a project to the printer. This meant that I had to completely redo a project on deadline for a problem that I’ve never had before. How is this possibly helping your users? And is there a solution in the works or do I need to cancel Creative Cloud and go back to CS6?

    @OurPlace
First of all, you are not addressing any Adobe team. These forums are primarily supported by volunteers who are not Adobe employees and don't officially represent Adobe Technical Support.
    That having been said ...
There was nothing done specifically with InDesign 9 or 10 (the CC and CC 2014) versions of InDesign to change or disable packaging of fonts when packaging a document. It should be absolutely no different from InDesign 8 (the CS6 version).
    Troubleshooting hints:
    (1)     Make sure you check the Copy Fonts (Except CJK and TypeKit) option in the package dialog.
    (2)     Make sure that you are not using any CJK (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) complex fonts that we specifically will never put into a package.
    (3)     TypeKit fonts won't package.
    (4)     Make sure that your file system permissions are such that InDesign can create all the necessary directories and subdirectories for the packaging operation.
    (5)     If on MacOS, exit InDesign and try forcing a clearing of your system font cache and then reboot.
    (6)     Exit InDesign and then find and delete all files on your system with filenames of the form AdobeFnt##.lst where ## is a two digit number; don't delete any other files that start with AdobeFnt. Then reboot and restart InDesign.
    (7)     Reset InDesign's preferences that may have become corrupted. For Windows, start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files. For MacOS, while pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
One of these should either address or resolve your problem. Again, we at Adobe are not aware of any generic issue with packing fonts with InDesign.

I have over 200 hours of HD video on 5 different TB Thunderbolt GRaid hard drives. I need to reorganize my projects, moving large files from one drive to another. Advice?

Do some testing to get your method working right with some less than important footage.
Copy/paste files where you want then.
Use the FCE Reconnect feature to tell FCE where the newly copied files reside.
Make sure the new location and files are working as expected with your Projects.
Delete the original files if no longer required.

will they have the problem of not being able to open the file? any suggestions out there?

    Welcome to the forum!
FCP project files are NOT backward compatible with older versions. But you can export an XML file of your FCP 6 project, then use the XML file to build a new project in FCP 5. Check the manual for details.

I need more iMovie '11 project themes.Anyone know where to find some? The 8 project themes that came with iMovie '11 just isn't enough for me,
    MacBook Pro OS X v10.7.5
    thank you

iMovie '11 doesn't provide for 3rd party plug-ins unfortunately. So we are currently able to work only with the themes provided by Apple.
You may be able to find something suitable on the App Store, but these are mainly special effects (for example, "Clips FX for iMovie") that can be used in iMovie projects. However, they are not Themes, as such.

    Hi Rama
Retailing consists of the sale of goods or merchandise, from a fixed location such as a department store or kiosk, in small or individual lots for direct consumption by the purchaser.[1] Retailing may include subordinated services, such as delivery. Purchasers may be individuals or businesses. In commerce, a retailer buys goods or products in large quantities from manufacturers or importers, either directly or through a wholesaler, and then sells smaller quantities to the end-user. Retail establishments are often called shops or stores. Retailers are at the end of the supply chain. Manufacturing marketers see the process of retailing as a necessary part of their overall distribution strategy.
Shops may be on residential streets, shopping streets with few or no houses, or in a shopping center or mall, but are mostly found in the central business district. Shopping streets may be for pedestrians only. Sometimes a shopping street has a partial or full roof to protect customers from precipitation. Retailers often provided boardwalks in front of their stores to protect customers from the mud. Online retailing, also known as e-commerce is the latest form of non-shop retailing (cf. mail order).
Shopping generally refers to the act of buying products. Sometimes this is done to obtain necessities such as food and clothing; sometimes it is done as a recreational activity. Recreational shopping often involves window shopping (just looking, not buying) and browsing and does not always result in a purchase.
Most retailers have employees learn facing, a hyperreal tool used to create the look of a perfectly-stocked store even when it is not.

    [edit] Retail pricing
The pricing technique used by most retailers is cost-plus pricing. This involves adding a markup amount (or percentage) to the retailers cost. Another common technique is suggested retail pricing. This simply involves charging the amount suggested by the manufacturer and usually printed on the product bize the manufacturer.
In Western countries, retail prices are often so-called psychological prices or odd prices: a little less than a round number, e.g. $6.95. In Chinese societies, prices are generally either a round number or sometimes a lucky number. This creates price points.
Often prices are fixed and displayed on signs or labels. Alternatively, there can be price discrimination for a variety of reasons, where the retailer charges higher prices to some customers and lower prices to others. For example, a customer may have to pay more if the seller determines that he or she is willing to. The retailer may conclude this due to the customer's wealth, carelessness, lack of knowledge, or eagerness to buy. Another example is the practice of discounting for youths or students. Price discrimination can lead to a bargaining situation often called haggling, in which the parties negotiate about the price. Economists see this as determining how the transaction's total surplus will be divided into consumer and producer surplus. Neither party has a clear advantage, because of the threat of no sale, in which case the surplus vanishes for both.
Retailers who are overstocked, or need to raise cash to renew stocks may resort to "Sales", where prices are "marked down", often by advertised percentages - "50% off" for example."Sales" are often held at fixed times of the year, for example January sales, or end-of-season sales, or Blue Cross Sale
    [edit] Retail Industry
Retail Industry has brought in phenomenal changes in the whole process of production, distribution and consumption of Consumer Goods all over the world. In the present world most of the developed economies are using the Retail Industry as their vital growth instrument. At present, among all the industries of U.S.A the Retail Industry holds the second place in terms of Employment Generation. In fact, the strength of the Retail Industry lies in its ability to generate large volume of employment.
Not only U.S but also the other developed countries like U.K, Canada, France, Germany are experiencing tremendous growth in their Retail Sectors. This boom in the Global Retail Industry was in many ways accelerated by the Liberalization of Retail Sector.
Observing this global upward trend of Retail Industry, now the developing countries like India are also planning to tap the enormous potential of the retail sector. Wal-Mart,the world's largest Retailer has been invited to India. Other popular Brands like Pantaloons, Big Bazar, Archies are rapidly increasing their market share in the retail sector. According to a survey, within 5 years, the Indian Retail Industry is expected to generate 10 to 15 million jobs by direct and indirect effects. This huge employment generation can be possible because of the fact that being dependent on the the Retail Sector shares a lot of Forward and Backward Linkages.
Emergence of a strong Retail Sector can contribute immensely to the economic development of any country. With a dominant retail sector, the farmers and other suppliers can sell their produce directly to the major retail companies and can ensure stable profit. On the other hand, to ensure steady supply of goods, the Retail Companies can inject cash into the production system. This whole process can result into a more efficient production and distribution system for the economy as a whole.
    [edit] Etymology
Retail comes from the French word retaillier which refers to "cutting off, clip and divide" in terms of tailoring (1365). It first was recorded as a noun with the meaning of a "sale in small quantities" in 1433 (French). Its literal meaning for retail was to "cut off, shred, paring". Like the French, the word retail in both Dutch and German (detailhandel and Einzelhandel respectively) also refer to sale of small quantities or items.[citation needed]
    [edit] Retail types
According to Jim there are three major types of retailing. The first is the market, a physical location where buyers and sellers converge. Usually this is done in town squares, sidewalks or designated streets and may involve the construction of temporary structures (market stalls). The second form is shop or store trading. Some shops use counter-service, where goods are out of reach of buyers, and must be obtained from the seller. This type of retail is common for small expensive items (e.g. jewelry) and controlled items like medicine and liquor. Self-service, where goods may be handled and examined prior to purchase, has become more common since the Twentieth Century. A third form of retail is virtual retail, where products are ordered via mail, telephone or online without having been examined physically but instead in a catalog, on television or on a website. Sometimes this kind of retailing replicates existing retail types such as online shops or virtual marketplaces such as futurebazaar.com or Amazon.[2].
Buildings for retail have changed considerably over time. Market halls were constructed in the Middle Ages, which were essentially just covered marketplaces. The first shops in the modern sense used to deal with just one type of article, and usually adjoined the producer (baker, tailor, cobbler). In the nineteenth century, in France, arcades were invented, which were a street of several different shops, roofed over. counters, each dealing with a different kind of article was invented; it was called a department store. One of the novelties of the department store was the introduction of fixed prices, making haggling unnecessary, and browsing more enjoyable. This is commonly considered the birth of consumerism [3]. In cities, these were multi-story buildings which pioneered the escalator.
In the 1920s the first supermarket opened in the United States, heralding in a new era of retail: self-service. Around the same time the first shopping mall was constructed [4] which incorporated elements from both the arcade and the department store. A mall consists of several department stores linked by arcades (many of whose shops are owned by the same firm under different names). The design was perfected by the Austrian architecht Victor Gruen[5]. All the stores rent their space from the mall owner. By mid-century, most of these were being developed as single enclosed, climate-controlled, projects in suburban areas. The mall has had a considerable impact on the retail structure and urban development in the United States. [6]
In addition to the enclosed malls, there are also strip malls which are 'outside' malls (in Britain they are called retail parks. These are often comprised of one or more big box stores or superstores.
Non-traditional exterior of a SuperTarget, JacksonvilleLocal shops can be known as brick and mortar stores in the United States. Many shops are part of a chain: a number of similar shops with the same name selling the same products in different locations. The shops may be owned by one company, or there may be a franchising company that has franchising agreements with the shop owners (see also restaurant chain).
Some shops sell second-hand goods. Often the public can also sell goods to such shops, sometimes called 'pawn' shops. In other cases, especially in the case of a nonprofit shop, the public donates goods to the shop to be sold (see also thrift store). In give-away shops goods can be taken for free.
There are also 'consignment' shops, which is where a person can place an item in a store, and if it sells the person gives the shop owner a percentage of the sale price. The advantage of selling an item this way is that the established shop give the item exposure to more potential buyers.
The term retailer is also applied where a service provider services the needs of a large number of individuals, such as with telephone or electric power.
IS Retail was original develop to meet specific needs of Retail industry where standard SD/MM cannot.
    - Significant functionality difference are:
    - Store specific features are built into IS Retail where as it is not in
    standard SD/MM.
    - Mass processing of pricing (some of the retail features were
included as standard SAP as of 4.6)
    - Assortment handling is not in standard SAP
There are other differences in inventory costing/valuation etc.
Retail valuation only available in SAP Retail.
What is known in the trade as the "retail inventory method" or the "retail method" involves valuating stocks at retail, often aggregated at merchandise category or departmental level.
Both the cost method and the retail method can be used in SAP Retail.
Actually IS-Retail is a combination of MM and SD plus other funtionalities speacially developed for the retail industry such as:
    Promotions
    Pricing
    Assortments
    Clasification
    Merchandise category
    Seasons
Is important to mention that all the funtionality of MM and SD is avialable in SAP IS-Retail with some diferences in some transactions:
Material master data (article in retail) has some diferences.
    Vendor master data.
    Site master data.

  • Solution Manager Project Title

Is anyone aware of a method to get the project name in the title of the screen when an associate runs Solution Manager? If you look at the standard screen it displays a generic title like "Maintenance Cycle M000000010" or "Implementation Project I000000054".
Is anyone aware of a way (other than modifying SAP code) to get the screen to display the project title. Yes, I realize the project name is displayed in the body of the screen. We have a request to see if there's a way to make the project title more pronounced.

    Example:
Publish a Captivate 8 project and change the Project Title to 'Test'
    Save the project as 'FinalTest'
Publish the project again and change the Project Title to 'FinalTest' (It should be remember 'Test' from before)
Publish the project again and notice the Project Title is still 'Test'
    Workaround
Save the project temporarily as something else
    Publish the project as 'FinalTest'
    Save the project as 'FinalTest'
    Adobe PLEASE FIX

I am having the same issue and it is particularly frustrating when you are continuously publishing for testing. I tried to follow the workaround but still could not get the project title to stick in the 'Publish to My Computer' dialog box.
