System:   Hp Envy 17  - Windows 8.1 - Intel Core i7  4700 MQ  CPU - Nvidia GE Force GT 740 M   Does anyone have a good quality controller they'd recommend.  A wired usb controller , with twin joysticks preferrebly I know it has to be able to run with Windows drivers, but I don't know a good brand to get .  I don't want to have to return one because it isn't compatible with laptop.  I see them advertised  but don't know which one has the better reviews. I'd appreciate any suggestions - thank you  ,    Z

Sure. You will need an xBox 360 wireless or wired controller and an interface like the one in the video. See the video.

  • How to set up an USB game controller

How to set up an USB game controller on a mac? I am at wits end! Need some help?

If you already have an iTunes account, simply use that. You do not need a new account.
Open the iTunes app on the iPad. Go to the bottom of the screen and tap Sign in.

  • Game controller inputs not registering

    Hello all,
I have just purchased a Satellite A505-6300 Laptop.  I am having trouble with a game controller; when I plug it into the USB port, the laptop recognizes the device as "PC USB Wired Stick 8838" and installs the drivers for it.  However, when I test the controller, none of the inputs register.  I have tried calibrating it as well, but the inputs are still not recognized.
I have used the same controller for another laptop running 64-bit Windows 7, and the inputs register fine.  The controller is a Mad Catz Tournament Edition Fightstick for the Playstation 3.  I have also gone to the manufacturer's website and don't see any additional drivers that need to be installed.
Would anyone know what the issue could be and how to resolve it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marco

In that scenario you have to be alert to cheating.
The server should check the positions of the ships regularly to detect whether they may have moved to places they're not supposed to go to (so having an unnaturally high speed which hints at cheating) and things like that.
If you do damage calculation on the client as well you'll also have to check whether damage is indeed being dealt. Say one side sends a message shooting a laser at the location of another ship doing 1000 points of damage and the other sends back that no damage was done that might indicate a cheater as well (depending on your game of course, if there's shielding etc. and chances to miss...).
Maybe better to calculate such things serverside.

  • Integrating HID Game controller

    Friends,
    I'm trying to integrate a device (a spirometer - a device
for measuring breathing) into flash. i have a driver that makes the
thing look like a USB connected HID game controller. Does anyone
know how to read from such a device into Flash ? Any help or
pointers would be much appreciated.. Thanks !
    -jc

You'll probably need one of the Flash wrappers - Director or
    other. I'm not
sure of the capabilities of Zinc, et al but Director could
    handle this
easily enough. Or, if the device can write output to a text
    file you could
    use that.

  • Blue tooth game controller?

Man this iPad is just killer for games. All we need now is a game controller. Anyone hear/know about one? I would think a blue tooth controller would be killer. With something like that we could get more buttons to use for game play and move this even closer to a game system.

You could try Google. Apple has not announced anything.

  • Game controller

Hi, i just got modern warfare on my mac and i dont enjoy having to use the key pad. Is there any recommendations on controllers, possibly wireless. thanks

They  have one controller  that Works exclusively with top-rated Gameloft apps only. The Discovery Bay Duo Gamer
controller that costs $39.95 and only works on a few games. apple needs a standard for all game makers and an afordable controller that works with all or most games to make the ipad a true gaming device in my opinion. thanks.

  • LiveDock - connecting projector and game controller

    Hi there,
I have a xperia mini pro and I'm considering to purchase a LiveDock but have a couple of questions about it:
    1) Is it possible to connect the LiveDock to a VGA projector (even if some adaptor is needed...)?
    2) Will the game controller work with the mini pro? Which controller? And, will it work, namely, with PES 2012?
    Cheers,
    mrcasp

Just to clarify, are you planning to use mini pro with LiveDock? Because mini pro does not have any HDMI port.

  • Is there a game controller/gamepad available for the iPad?

Is anybody aware of a gamepad for the iPad? I bought some of my favorite childhood games to pass some time on the ipad, but I gotta say the touch screen gaming experience is kinda lame. I keep touching the wrong "buttons" because my fingers can't feel the difference between them like a real gamepad/joystick. I found one company that makes a controller, but it works with only TWO games! Other people did jailbreak hacks with a wiimote. Does any company make a legitimate game controller for the iPad?

Good idea, but the iPad games are not able to change the touchscreen controls to the buttons of a USB gamepad, the games need to be compatible with it.
That's the part I wasn't aware of. Thanks for the good info.

But maybe this can help you (not a real controller but many games are compatible):

I've seen those before (but I think another company invented them, not Logitech). I'm reluctant to buy one because it relies on suction cups. I bought something called the Joystick-It by ThinkGeek, and while the idea is novel, getting the suction cup to stay in one place on the gamescreen is 99% impossible. I've cleaned, polished, buffed the screen every way possible and no matter how smooth its surface may be, I can't keep that suction cup stationary.

  • I want a game controller that works with imac, I bought a steelseries 3gc but can't figure how to download the driver

I bought  a steelseries 3gc game controller for my imac but can't figure how to download the driver. When I try to open, the essage is to open from an application. which one, I,ve tried some . any suggestions?

Solved: There is no driver to install. If the lights come on for your controller, the drivers have successfully been installed and the controller is ready for use. But before you can use it you must buy an app called "Joystick Mapper" from the Mac app store ($5). This will allow you to program the individual buttons' functions per the game you're playing. You will need to program multiple profiles if you plan on playing multiple games, as all games do not share the same button configuration. Also, you can clone game profiles. So if you're playing a shooter, for example, where the zoom and weapon fire buttons may be the same but there's a different button for grenades or secondary fire, you can tweak a few buttons instead of starting over from scratch.

  • Lost Sound. No video, sound, game controller in Device Manager.

Thankyou in advance for any help.
I have a HP DV9702ea running Windows Vista 32 Bit. AMD Turion.
Recently the sound stopped working. I have the red-cross over the speaker icon - 'No Audio Output Device is installed'.
In device manager the 'video, sound and game controller' tab is no longer there.
In Sound, Playback Devices it reads 'No audio devices are installed.'
I have tried a system restore. This changed nothing.
I have tried updating the BIOS - not needed.
I'm not exactly sure what sound card/drivers I have/had as I can't access this information on my system anymore.
    Altec Lansing built-in speakers.
Futher to this... A Driver-search tool has identified the Conexant High Definition Smart Audio221 Driver. The device is unplugged and when I try to install the driver it cannot find the device.
    Hardware problem??

    Hi
Please try these steps might help you to resolve your issue.
Go to Start in search box type Recovery Manager select yes in User access control the select I need immediate help select Driver and application recovery then install the software for the sound then restart and have it checked.
Last steps is to run a Recovery before doing this please back up data as it will be lost and have it check if still the issue is not resolved then your internal sound card or speaker needs to be repalced.

  • Logitech Game Controller for use in Labview and dealing with possible disconnects

Hello all, I would like to see if there are any suggestions on the following issue. In effect I am using a Logitech game controller to manipulate large scale robots. During operation with these robots I need to plan for the inevitable "accidental" disconnection of the game controller from the computer running labview while it is under operation. Simple to say I can throw the system into standby upon the "ERROR" messages I get, but I want to programmatically be able to "reset" the controller (ie wait for it to be plugged back in) and have the program continue working. However with my work and research thus far that isn't the case. I end up with the same error (even when reconnected, attempted re-initialize, closing the connection, with time delays, and re-initailizing after closing all connections). Nothing seems to work other than closing the program and restarting it (which for the consumer this would be quite frustrating). Suggestions?
Also on a similar note if anyone has any ideas on how to scan for devices prior to using them would be helpful too.
I currently am running Labview 2009 in windows 7. I do realize windows has its unique way of dealing with plug and play devices, and suspect that I may have to play with these features, but I don't know this topic very well.
    Thank you all in advance!

    Hey Dashiva,
I am assuming that the Game Controller that you are using is connected via USB. Does it show up in the computer's Windows menu when it is plugged in? If so, you can make calls to it using .NET controls that could access the device once it is re-connected. I would also try simply hitting F1 and see if that allows the program to reset the controller.

  • What's the best game controller for a MacBook Pro?

I have a mid-2012, non-Retina, 13" MacBook Pro with a 2.5 Ghz i5 and 8 GB of RAM. My current OS is 10.9.1. I've played Starcraft 2 for some time without any problems, but there are a few newer games on the Mac App Store that look like they'd be no fun with a keyboard and mouse. I'm hoping people here have recommendations for the best game pads or controllers that are compatible with Mac.
Please let me know if you have a controller that works really well for you, thanks!

I like the Logitech Gamepad F310 for games on my Mac. You're right new games are much better with a game controller!

I purchased the Logitech F310 game controller for my 2011 MacBook Pro. How do I get the driver installed for it. The Disk that came with the controller is a mini disk and will not insert into my laptop.

May not make a difference anyway. The Logitech support site does not show drivers for Mac OS for the F310:
    http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/gamepad-f310?crid=411
I'd contact their support to find out if there is a Mac driver available, and if they can either give you a web link to get it, e-mail you the software, or snail-mail you a standard-size disk with the drivers.
