Need a good Photo Gallery Extension
Setting up a photo gallery with hundreds of shots. Would like
an extension that give more choices for Dreamweaver CS3. Would like
to create pop-ups from thumbnails from a folder of photos in a
batch medthod without having to do each individually.
Here is the one I have .. you can set up a gallery in about
10 minutes.
Using Fireworks, it will even prepare the images for you in
the process.

Good photo gallery to use with Paypal?
I built my site using Dreamweaver 8. I now want to redo it using more CSS and another photo gallery. I believe someone mentioned something on this forum called LightBox or had that word associated with it. Can anyone recommend a gallery that would be fairly easy to use with CSS and help me incooperate it with a PayPal account?
Also, when I created my navigation bars, I turned them into Library items, which made them easier to put on each page. However, if I want to change anything on the nav bars or update, there are more problems doing this once they are on the Web. Can anyone recommend a way to use CSS when
creating nav bars, any links or tutorials?
Also, I know my site needs redoing, but any advise on it is much appreciated!!
Thanks in advance

Need help embedding photo gallery swf into main swf...
So I am attempting to create a website in flash and have the
main swf created for that. However, I've also created a photo
gallery in a separate swf which I want to embed into one of the
scenes in the main swf. I tried importing directly to stage, but
quickly realized that the timeline from the photo swf would not get
carried over. Basically, I know that it has to be accomplished
using AS, but don't know what that script would be. Any help would
be appreciated!OK, well, that wasn't really a tutorial as much as it was
just a huge section of code I couldn't make sense of. Anyways,
instead of loading the gallery externally now I decided to just
make it in the actual main swf. So, basically, in the section of
the main swf reserved for the gallery I created an empty movie
clip, went inside the clip, created layers for script, thumbs and
photos. The photos themselves were in a movieclip of their own.
Each photo has a small fade in accomplished by staggering the
keyframes for each photo with a stop(); action on the last frame of
each photo where it comes to full opacity. The thumbnails are back
in the main movieclip where each button has code telling it to go
to the beginning of each photos transition and play. It is supposed
to play until it hits that stop action, but it won't play at all.

Looking for a good gallery that can be easily updated by the user in contribute. All the ones I have found are too complicated for the general user to add/edit photos
Not that I know of, but you definitely need a relational database for this, and FileMaker is the best there is.
It might be worth asking them if they already have a template for your purpose.
Of course, they also make a simpler and cheaper version called Bento:
http://www.filemaker.co.uk/products/bento/
I have never used it but it might be worth a look? -
I need a program where I can remove objects and touch up dead grass, etc.
Reviews say Aperture runs really slow with Lion, any suggestions?
To add on to Corky02 answer:
The recent Aperture release AP 3.3.x is very efficient, both on Lion and Mountain Lion. But you need a decent hardware to support it. The older Macs will have problems with the storage and CPU requirements. For good performance on large raw images plenty of RAM is important, at least 4GB, but 8GB would be much better, and your library should be on a fast disk, preferably on an internal drive. And don't let the system drive get too full.
Many reports about Aperture being slow are due to putting the Aperture library onto slow disks or acessing the original image files over the network, insufficient RAM, or corrupted or ill-designedAperture databases.
Aperture excels at all kinds of image processing that can be considered image developement - raw processing and color/lighting adjustments, but does not do compositing. If you are shooting raw and want professional image developement I'd recommend to do this in Aperture and not in iPhoto - you will have much more control over this in Aperture (after a steep learning curve). You can also repair and retouch the image to correct minor blamishes. For graphics compositing and inpainting you can set up an external editor and send your images from Aperture to this external editor - any of the editors Corky recommended would be o.k. for this.
To see, if you will want the advanced image processing in Aperture or the easy to use, more basic options in iPhoro will be sufficient to you have a look at the Aperture User manual, or the tutorial on the support page: Aperture Support
But Aperture is a professional apllication, not "plug and play". You should only consider it, if you are willing to spend some time on learning to use it properly and are willing to work your way through the manual.

Hello,
I am a photographer and am new to website design but i have
built my own website:
Nathan Lopez
photography
on the gallery's I have simply resized and pasted my
picutures on the page. i would like to have a way for my
customers/clients view the pictures more easily and have the images
load more quickly, IE: like a scroll bar with small images accross
the bottom and a "blank image place" that is larger above the
smaller ones that will display the images when someone clicks on
the smaller images. i hope that makes sense.
I would greatly appreciate anyone checking out the websites
and please contact me with any sugestions.
Thank you
Nathan<i've seen many websites by photographers that were truly
works of art..>
Me too. But these talented folks took time away from their
main profession
to learn how to design for the web. Owning a copy of
Dreamweaver doesn't
make someone an instant success at web design anymore than
owning a camera
makes one an instant success at photography. It takes time to
learn and
develop experience.
<they may not have the geek factor and follow some set of
arbitrary "rules
of web design.">
W3C validation isn't arbitrary. Either your page validates or
it doesn't.
Which would you rather have?
Honestly, I mean no disrespect. But a film photographer who
doesn't know how
to optimize images in Photoshop, let alone understand CSS,
Html,
JavaScript... would be better off hiring a web designer.

Need Help Removing XML Photo Gallery on Button Click
Hi, I'm new to flash so this might seem like a dumb question, but I'm right in the middle of designing a photography site and need some help. I have 4 buttons in my timeline that go to the corresponding frame labels when clicked, above each frame label is a keyframe with actionscript applied to it, that will load an external XML photo gallery. I need the current photo gallery that's on the screen to disappear when I click on a new button to load the new XML photo gallery. this is the code that will be above each frame label with a few changes, then below this is the code for my buttons. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you Code: Select all var imageX:XML; var imageList:XMLList; var canvas:MovieClip = new MovieClip(); var picLoader:Loader; addChild(canvas); canvas.x = -155; canvas.y = 160; var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest("gallery.xml"); var imageLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); imageLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete); imageLoader.load(req); function onComplete(e:Event):void { imageX = new XML(imageLoader.data); imageList = imageX.image; picLoader = new Loader(); picLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event .COMPLETE, imageLoaded); picLoader.load(new URLRequest (imageList[0].url)); } function imageLoaded(e:Event):void { canvas.addChild(picLoader); } Code for the buttons in different keyframe. Code: Select all stop(); kids_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,onKidsClick); couples_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,onCouplesClick); portraits_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,onPortraitsClick); bellies_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,onBelliesClick); function onKidsClick(e:MouseEvent):void { gotoAndStop("kids"); } function onCouplesClick(e:MouseEvent):void { gotoAndStop("couples"); } function onPortraitsClick(e:MouseEvent):void { gotoAndStop("portraits"); } function onBelliesClick(e:MouseEvent):void { gotoAndStop("bellies"); }

Resize your photos as needed to cut down their size use jpg
or png format.
save then in an outside folder.
next inside the directory you use for your web files create a
directory
with either the sme name as the outside folder or name
desired open that
directory.
Open up Dreamweaver and create a Blank HTML page.
Now go to Commands menu and and choose create web Photo
album...
next a menu will pop up and ask directory where images are
located. Then
will ask the destination directory browse to the new
directory you
created. You will also settings for Thumbnail size and
whether to use
captions if you do use captions it will use the file name of
of each
image and you will have to go in and edit the caption names
for the
photos as desired when everything is setup fireworks will
takeover and
create the album. it will create three subdirectories one
with the full
size photos , one with the thumbs, and one with the html
information for
each photo. Plus three other files in main directory one
being an html
file. once completed and Fireworks returns editing back to
Dreamweaver
close and don't save the blank html file. the index file
needed will be
created by Fireworks.
open the index file inside you album directory and edit
cations as needed.
Remember if you do this you'll need a total of 3 times files
of the
photos you use for example.
if you have 30 photos it will be a total of four directories
and 93 files.
for 20 it would be 63 files, for 10 33 files and so on.
If you need to add photos or take away photos the method is
to start
over from scratch and use you FTP program to do a recursive
delete on
the directory then re-upload.

Dynamic photo gallery script?
Can anyone suggest a good photo gallery script?
My client is a photographer and needs a user-friendly system
where he can
create galleries, upload images. He also needs to assign
usernames/passwords
to each gallery. I was going to use Coppermine, but it has
too many bells
and whistles. I need to keep it very simple.
Thanks for you help.

How create a carrosel photo gallery with Adobe Muse widgets?
I use Adobe Muse 3.2 build 2, and I need create a photo gallery with many photos (around 60) like a carrosel (with photos and thumbnails that slides both from left to right). There is some way to create or insert a widget of this kind in Muse? If possible, in which Muse version?
I wanted a solution that works inside of Muse, to not create a HTML page separated, with the gallery, and after embed it into the Muse.
Thanks for any reply. It is currently not possible to create a functional carousel using the out-of-the-box features available in Muse. You will need to look online for third party code or a widget from a Muse widget developer for something like this.
